It’s the internet. It’s a vile, vile place that harbors the worst kinds of people.

No excuse to act like jerks and be rude to others. No excuse at all.

I have never seen anyone being anything but cordial on my server, come to Aurora Glade, we have forums <3

Not on my server, not a day goes by without someone verbal abusing another or just being plain rude and a jerk.

That’s what it feels like. I think Fractals was the worst thing that happened to the game for the simple fact it yanked the player base from other areas (that were already slowly dying out). I also think the unreasonable dungeon mechanics chased people away from higher level dungeons.

I don’t wish to get 100% map completion. I don’t wish to play Super Guild Wars Bros and do jump puzzles. I’d like to advance exciting story or make some kind of progress w/ my character and see other characters out in the world and join with them and do stuff… new stuff.

I try to log-in and not be negative, but I usually just end up running around aimlessly and then logging out.

I can’t be the only person feeling this way. I don’t hate GW2. I enjoyed my path to where I am now… but I feel like I “beat” a console game right now.

What the heck happened to the game ANet was advertising before launch?

Sorry, but no I don’t feel the same way. It’s the same game they had at launch with new stuff and areas.

Alright. So, I have been playing this game a long time. I kinda feel bored about it. What i feel this game is that this game is just so peace. You can not kill others in the leveling area, can not duel others, even can not check others’ armor.

I don’t want you checking my armor. What I am wearing is none of your business. What does checking armor have to do with duels and pvp anyway? Checking armor just helps create elitism. As far as killing others in lvling area.. Anet took out anything that promoted or caused grief of others… killing others in lvling areas would just promote grief by those mindless twits who think it is funny to go on a ganking rampage.

:There is like totally no drama!!! But, you know, drama is actually the main thing keep people playing games.

You obviously don’t read map chat there’s plenty of drama

:However, those are not the main thing I want to talk about today. Now, here is the big question. Where is the kittening guild wars!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I was interested in this game, it is because I like the idea of “guild wars”. The idea of my guild is better than yours! Your guild is junk! You know, dramas!!!!!! Guild wars 1, at least have GVG pvp. But for Guildwars 2, it’s not making sense to me. Where the kitten is the guild wars?!!!! Why don’t you guys making the game name “Zhaitanwars”! GG!!!!

The Waring guilds died about 250 years ago. Once again it would only promote elitism.

sPvP - Going Free-2-play?

Game is already free to play

Where are you getting this silly notion? I keep seeing people saying it.

Guild Wars 2 is not free-to-play. It’s buy-to-play.
This is a big difference with huge underlying ramifications (such as the inability for botters to infinitely remake new accounts)

You keep seeing that “silly notion” as another definition, a rather logical one, of “free-to-play” is that playing the game costs nothing. (Owning it however does.)

Free to play, buy to play who gives a skirtts butt. You all just agree to disagree and go on and stop beating the horse he’s dead already…pfft

The Breached Wall is just too much

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Eladriel.7295

I’m getting too old for these games I guess, just spent hours trying to get the skill point and vista for Breached Wall, finally got the skill point and missed the last jump.

I’m worn out, I feel I wasted $60 Christmas and worse, wasted hours on a Saturday night. MMORPGs have been my favorite type of games for many years. But the stores have ruined them, probably something in there that lets you jump further.

My conclusion is that an overly difficult jumping quest is not fun..not even a little bit….it’s just frustrating …and if the quests are this hard at level 25, there’s no way I’ll be able to play to whatever top level is. (BTW did you guys just do something that cripples you if a mob sneezes on you?)

Well, whatever dev designed that…pat yourself on the back if your purpose was to drive away anyone without that good ol’ hardcore twitch. Guess you showed me. This kind of difficulty is why I don’t play FPS. Well, I’ll go play a RT strategy game…love those, all thinking, no jumping….and try this again if I upgrade my system, it may be my computer is getting old too.

If you find The Breached Wall frustrating, I would hate to see what you will find Tribulation Rift in Dreadgehaunt Cliffs. The Breached Wall is a piece of cake compared to the Tribulaion Rift and Viziers Tower. Although they aren’t the only ones there are others that are somewhat challenging.

You could also do it like PSO2, a housing system that’s a room, rather than an actual house. You could always add an upgrade system that makes you move into a physical house, with purchasable farming upgrades, etc.

Maybe have a character influence system alongside the guild influence system for this reason. (Like “Legend Points” or “Servitude” or something.)

I want an actual house not a silly room.

Each new piece of AR gear is meant to allow you to progress to further fractal levels, which have increasingly better rewards compounding with higher scaling difficulty.

This is the statement.

I ever since was a defender that gw2 is not that kind of game, since fractals were released I told ppl that it’s not since you don’t need any ar to get to lvl 80 (I’m there so don’t argue about that if it’s possible or not ) But after the update the game changed to what the dev stated now. I really think this is a bad direction the game takes and I’m as a former gw1 fan dissapointed and afraid that it goes in this direction.

How many times has Anet told you people that you will not get another tier of gear aside the ascended gear? Do they have to continue til they are blue in the face to get it through that thick head of yours that The ascendant gear is the only tier you will get? Just because they are giving you the gear piece by piece doesn’t make it a gear grinding game. If they add another tier of armor then you can legitimately call it a gear grinding game. In the future do more research on what gear grinding really is.. Wow has that down perfectly… I’m not talking about piece by piece.. I’m talking about full sets to the next full set….. ect..

Um NO and No and NO Again.
They said there isnt anything planned in the imminent future – far far different from no more new gear. Lol go back and read the ama. There will be more tiers to come right after ascend is finished. That is their model and the VP Plan.

The fist now second step to the treadmill has started get running or walking cause it aint going to stop. No Way No How – that is the plan. More gear with hire stats. Then after that comes the expansion with level cap raise and guess what?
More New Gear Tiers

More for the VP to chase and grind behind agony and whatever type of gated content they want to put in.

Whatever… I know what I read. So get over it.

Cantha was my favorite GW1 region to work on. And I worked on every GW release. I know a lot of the dev team loved it and would love to revisit it. I kinda agree with critickitten about the negative aspect of tight corridors. Most of that came from hitting technological limits while trying to keep the epic quality of the concept art. I think we could do some really amazing things with those themes in our new engine. Certainly nothing is ruled out. I certainly encourage anyone to express your desire for a Cantha region in GW2 in a positive and friendly way. It could be years away, but it’s worth asking for.

I would like to have Cantha and Elona back considering they are part of Tyria and already in the lore. I like those areas.

The Cantha Thread [Merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Eladriel.7295

I just heard news that Cantha might not ever be making its way back into GW2 as an unnamed artist for Anet has said: "NCsoft was firm in its decision to stay away from “Asian” themes and keep it “universal.” ArenaNet had to make adjustments quickly. A small number of you may recall that the human story was originally split by Canthans/Elonians/Ascalonians instead of the current Streets/Commoner/Noble paths. Divinity’s Reach originally had sections dedicated to the three cultures as well (Ossan Quarters & Rurikton are the current “versions” perhaps?) ArenaNet obeyed NCsoft’s suggestion and halted all Canthan productions, including the once-existing Canthan sector of Divinity’s Reach…. Because of time restrictions, they had to erase the Canthan sector of DR quickly. The current result is “The Great Collapse.” It’s an inside joke now, she says. The “Collapse” symbolizes what was once an idea that didn’t make it all the way. She further states that ArenaNet had to come up with some new lore to cover up the lack of Canthan content — hence the Emperor’s decree (read lore on Wiki). That’s all I have."

Regardless if this true or not, it is ridiculous. The game world is made universal because it has more than one type/race of human. In GW1 I saw it like this:
Kryta= Greece, Ascalon =European, Istan and Kourna= African, Vabbi and Orr= Arabic and lastly Cantha represented Asia, mostly China/Japan/Korea. That universal diversity is what made Guild Wars such a compelling game. By trying to represent most cultures, you created something universal. I think it is a huge mistake that NCsoft think that universal should mean some sort of one ‘common race’, that because of sexual mingling has come about. That being the only way for it to come about… It is unbelievable to think that entire continent can be erased from a game for the sake of PR.

Cantha and Factions had some of the very best concepts about it in terms of map design and cultural lore. From The training Island to the main land the entire game was beautiful, and the giant city, felt like a giant city. I have actually gotten myself lost in it many times. In fact for quite a lot of people I know, Factions is what got them playing GW in the first place… I know that doesn’t count for much but still.

But what I am most annoyed about, is that you guys (anet) have always been ‘we talk to our player-base’ If this about Cantha is true, then surely this is something we need to talk about. As this is no small thing, it is an entire section of lore and some of your best work going down the drain for no real good reason. Even if this is a thing set in stone, I think it is unfair that the player-base’s opinions go left unheard. It could even be possible that if NCsoft realise how much we love that part of the game, they might change their minds. After the whole Mass effect thing, I think anything is possible with enough voices.

Anyway I just thought I should say something and hopefully people agree and that we can rescue Cathan from the ideas bin.

Well I hope it’s wrong, I would like that area of the world to be unlocked. It would be silly since that area is part of Tyria.

Suspicious Gathering Node Shenanigans!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Eladriel.7295

Eladriel.7295

Not quite sure how to start this. There could be many explanations for what I’m seeing I’m sure – I’m hoping someone can shed some light.

I was gathering from nodes throughout Sparkfly Swamp, and on 2 separate occaisions, at the same platinum node (just a regular node, nothing obvious special about it or the location), I witnessed someone appear, gather, and disappear – as though they were logging in only to gather, then logging out.

I thought nothing of it until today when a friend said he’d seen the same. He certainly seems to have a better connection than me generally so it got me thinking again – this time though it was nodes in Mount Maelstrom.

Could this be:
1. A new way of botting?
2. Lag on my part?
3. People genuinly camping one node with an alt?

I’m baffled. My current favourite theory is just lag – but has anyone else witnessed this?

If I could get a video of this occuring I’d post it, only you’ve gotta have Fraps on and camp a node in the hope you’ll see it which it both boring and impractical!

Those are bots, report them. You’ll have to hurry they won’t stay very long.

Does anyone get 10 legitimate rezzes?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Eladriel.7295

Eladriel.7295

The only way I see this happening legitimately is in wvw.

I see maybe 2 dead players in pve exploration and one will waypoint away before I can get to them.

Rezzing an NPC feels like cheating. People are jumping off cliffs for each other at 3:30 server time to get this done.

I think 10 is far more than most players could accomplish through natural playing.

Everytime I rez it’s legit.. Even if it is a npc.. Why do you people have to categorize or see something as something other than what it is.. Rezing npcs or players is an opportunity to do the daily. Stop considering it cheating when it’s not.

Suicide jumps for res daily

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Eladriel.7295

A player’s lack of creativity is pretty astounding. I’m terrible at remembering things and I don’t have to work very hard to think of events that leave more than 10 dead NPCs. Good for them (until they start complaining that it’s the only way to complete the daily…which is all but inevitable some will).

I think organizing suicide jumps is very creative

But it’s kind of silly with the amount of dead NPCs you can find everywhere in the world. Every zone has some hearts or events with dead NPCs you can resurrect.

You know, I really don’t give a skritt kitten about the dead npc… all I know I was having fun with the jump rez party so you people need to take a chill pill and smell the blasted roses for once in your life. I already knew about the npcs.. I do what I feel like doing at the time. If there is something more fun over there that is where I will be.

Player homes not worth development effort

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Eladriel.7295

Eladriel.7295

Some players have stated that they want to see player homies in Guild wars two in the future. But in a massive multiplayer game, wouldn’t player homes just segregate the player base? If everyone was spending their game time inside their own homes, then you would not be able to go out into the world or even a major city and see a myriad of players around you going about. To me this presence of other players is pretty important to make me feel like I am immersed in a lively world. That is why a lot of people want to transfer off of underpopulated servers and onto more populated ones in every MMO. But player housing Butch’s cause people to become hermits and destroy the social aspect of this game.

Even Guild Halls to a certain extent would cause this player segregation. I would rather have gills spend their time inside their cities for everyone to see because that would let me know that my server is alive and teeming with people and it’s fun to hear the chatter as I’m doing my own business. But if a group of players segregates themselves into their own little Guildhall and spends all their time socializing with in that instance, then the city is would feel very empty. And now players have two places to socialize in the cities or in their Guild Halls or player homes and all this further aggravates the issue of not having enough players exploring about in the open world.

Player homes can make sense in a game like sky rim, a single player game, but in a massively multiplayer game, player homes and even Guild Halls are detrimental to the social life overall.

I want player housing and guild halls and no it’s not a waste of time.. Who are you to dictate how I spend my gaming time? If I choose to be in my player house decorating it that is my prerogative. Who says it’s a rule that I have to out and about among the lot of you people? If I’m not logged on I’m that there in the world anyway.

Dailies discussion [Merged thread]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Eladriel.7295

Eladriel.7295

I am sick and tired, so sick and tired, of FotM. That same paths over and over again hoping to get a ring (and then hoping that ring isn’t a trash MF one I’ll only use to give an alt AR). I am seriously getting worn out on FotM dailies, I grin and bear it at this point. I already feel this way about my dailies. FotM is buggy and rarely counts as an event, so that daily is a chore to fill, gatherer can’t be done in FotM or dungeons, so I run around some low level zone blowing Orichalcum picks for some arbitrary requirement, the list goes on. If I want to step away from the game for a day, I know I’m one more day away from my amulet. When I have multiple characters to equip, I feel pressured to make sure that I’m in the game every single day, jumping through hoops. It feels horrible now. I was playing almost every day before FotM and before laurel dailies, I enjoyed it, I was not bored. I felt free to do what I wanted to do and often played for long periods of time. Now I begrudgingly do my daily to get my ring roll and PR no matter how bored I’ve become of that dungeon. It feels like work every time I load into the dredge fractal. I find NPCs to res and copper to mine to get my laurel. Then I’m annoyed with the game and I log out.

The recent changes to the game, the limited options for ascended gear and the dramatic grind and calendar gating is adding too much pressure to log in daily and it’s creating a situation where I no longer feel like I can play how I want, where I want or when I want. These items are so much harder to get than the old ones (10 days for a ring, compare that to a complete dungeon set – and most, if not all, dungeons are much harder than FotM lvl 10). I have several exotic dungeon sets on my ranger. I have exotic dungeon sets on all my level 80 toons (I have five level 80s, some with more than one armour set). I used to gather sets and experiment with builds and play styles. It was a lot of work for a whole dungeon set, but it wasn’t too bad and it was worth it to access a slew of new build options for my character. Now, I log in, do my two dailies, get very little (or nothing) for my work until 10 or 30 days later, and I don’t get to play where I want to play. I’m constantly looking at a daily tab to check on the requirements I have left, I have never naturally completed one, I’ve always had to grind it out, search it out, tick it off like some nagging list.

Now I actually like playing GW2. I enjoy levelling alts or running dungeons, trying new builds, getting new gear and generally just exploring the world. I don’t feel like I have the time to do that any more now that dailies are becoming more and more prominent. They are the sole source of ascended items, they are calendar gated to take the decision of when I play out of my hands (I might have time for four FotM runs on Saturday, but no time for a run on Monday-Thursday, I can still only get one daily on Saturday, same for the daily achievement) and I rather than rewarding me for logging in and playing that day, I am logging in and ticking the list off because I wouldn’t complete it otherwise. If I decide to do what I want to do that day, and which character I want to do it on, there is a very good chance I won’t get my FotM daily or my daily achievement. If I decide to take a day away from the game (or two days) I am two days behind on my incredibly long laurel grind, with no other way to get the amulet or laurels.

I feel like dailies dictate when and where I play these days.

No they don’t.. Nobody makes you do them. They only feel like a chore cause you make them into a chore. They are there to give you something to do… Too many times I have read people crying there’s nothing to do. Most of those dailies can be done by just normal play.

Wow. Reading this thread, the mind just boggles… who’d have thought that players finding an amusing way of getting one of their dailies would elicit such rude responses.

Let’s see – apparently only “KIDS” do this. I’m in my 40s – I’d have done it if I’d thought of it. Kudos to those smart enough to come up with a creative way to meet this particular daily. I suspect the atmosphere among those suiciding/rezzing was probably much like the day about 150 of us spontaneously began jumping to our deaths in Wayfarer Foothills during the Beta Finale. Sorry I missed it.

What else? Oh yes – this daily is apparently making people play the game in a way ANet didn’t intend. Strange, I could have sworn that ANet was designing a game players could play their own way. Not whatever way you find acceptable, appropriate, fun, enjoyable (or whatever) for THEM to play. Why on earth do you care how someone else is spending their in-game time? If they’re finding it more fun to take turns suiciding and rezzing, or to wait for NPCs to die, why does this matter to you? I mean, I’d have told the one guy to go fly a kite if he’d complained that I ‘saved’ the NPC he was going to farm for rez’s… but otherwise, WHY are you so concerned with how someone else meets their daily requirement?

People are having fun… they’re not exploiting the game… they’re playing it in a manner they enjoy.

I typically run around either Queensdale or Wayfarer Foothills with my lvl80 ele to get my dailies. Why? Because of my personality type… or maybe my OCD… or maybe a combination of the two. Having those “in progress” is a major distraction for me. I know they’re there, I know they’re in a state of “undoneness,” and I know that I can knock them out in about 15 minutes if I just pop into a starter area. Then they’re done, and I’m not getting a somewhat stressful zing every time the little announcement pops up on the right letting me know I’ve progressed a bit more. It’s my game that I paid for… getting those out of the way allows me to then resume my normal game play and enjoy myself without feeling like they’re hanging over my head. That’s the choice I’ve made for what is the best use of MY time when playing MY game.

Why should how someone else chooses to allocate their playing time be so problematic for some of you?

Thank You! Finally someone else who holds the same feelings as I do and can see the humor in the suicide jumps for res..

In my opinion, this game requires too much grind

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Eladriel.7295

Eladriel.7295

Hi I like the rest of you bought into this game but I feel like I was punched in the gut and laughed at.
This game was suppose to built on not having grind. This was one of Anet’s key manifesto points however now:
1. Legendary weapon grind
2. Gold Grind – you need atleast 100 gold for the ideal build and armor you want. If you want any of the ‘special’ weapon look at grinding out atleast another 300-500 gold (legend range for a min of 1.5k to 2.5k) -unless your brilliant at investing or lucky your looking at around 50-60 hours of grinding to get the armor and build you want. Ironically in GW1 which was ‘suppose’ to be more of a grind this was alot simplier and easier.
Another key point of their manifesto was no gear grind as of now there is:
1. Ascended gear (what?! isn’t this what they said WOULD NOT happen? Did they not say how they disproved of this? How the game should be about having fun?)
They already stated they tend to add more gear grinds later how (Why? The game was released for only 3 months and Anet felt they had to add in a gear grind already?) I can’t imagine what will happen in a year from now.
2. Karma gear -to get one set of karma get you need atleast 240k karma. Yeah for the above avg. causal – to hardcore this is possible but for us casuals this is NOT possible in a reasonable amount of time.

And finally did they not state how this was directed towards everyday? People who simply do not have the time to put in 100s of hours into the game? The information given above tends to differ.
What I don’t understand and what the community in general is confused about is why this game was marked towards people who don’t like grind. Simple put, why not market it towards the people that love grind? (not saying that is bad but it is a completly different market)

Wow, I guess you just expected everything to be handed to you. Everything you do there is a some what grind to it.. Even in freakin real life you are grinding.. Everyday of your life is a grind.. Legendary’s were meant to be something to gradually work toward. It is you that makes it a grind when you rush to get it made… What? You expect to just poof money in your hands in real life to purchase that new car? Doesn’t work that way, guess what, doesn’t work that way in the game either.. At some point there is going to be some grind in any game that can’t be taken out.. So get over it..

First off the WP system is not meant to be used 100% of the time which is why the price to use it increases.

Second my request that any mount related post become a ban-able offense once again rears its ugly head.

So get over yourself or get lost

It really amuses me how players on these form seem to think they can have others banned for merely just an opinion.. I don’t care how many mount post there are, it isn’t a offense. Then you have the audacity to even suggest it? Get over it.. Others will have a difference of opinion so yours won’t be the only one. I’ve come to the conclusion that the GW2 community is worse than the WoW community. That last bit of post, you might want to practice what you preach.. NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT to suggest a ban just for an opinion just to accommodate other gamers because they are too lazy to skip the post. Nobody twist your arms to read them.

“Mount request posts”, “What is the best X for class Y”, “Which is the best class for general part of the game”,“Can you be a ranged/melee/support X class????!1111”, “Fire killed me but I was not standing in fire, omg lagg”, “omfg downedstate is kitten because I can’t just glasscannon win everything WHY!?!??!+!11”, “omfg pvp is kitten because my glasscannon build shatters like glass when kitten playyer kitty kitten target me WHY1+1+1+1!?” ,“Please make GW2 more like game X” posts really should be bannable because they clog the forum with kitten piles of kitty kitten.

The OP has NO actual points about how mounts would be an actual improvement for the game other then “omg I swear I won’t just auto-run past everything in a straight line like you do in every other mmo with mounts1!!!11!”..
How would they affect S and Tpvp? How would they affect WvWvW? Would they actually be a possitive addition or would they mess with balance?
Are they really needed? Like really really needed or would they just be detracting devs from developing future content for a glorified speedbuff we really don’t need imo? Speedbuffs right now are used to SKIP content not to enjoy it more.

Just like your post just clogged the forum with kitten piles of kitty kitten?

Alternatively, they could just play GW2. Seems half the music in this game is from GW1!

There are only a few tracks from GW1 in GW2 not the entire sound track.

I personally feel that there is a lack of competition

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Eladriel.7295

Eladriel.7295

This is my personal opinion, don’t bash on me. If anyone disagrees with me, atleast be civil. This game has ZERO competition for hardcore gamers. There is no real ’’goal’’ to acomplish, It’s like Anet said ‘’ Here are kittenloads of stuff to do, now do whatever you want’’ But it doesn’t work like that. People want a purpose to play and a goal to aim for, to obtain the things that makes them stand out. Even if it’s only cosmetic.

1. Let’s start with the PvE: Dungeons doesn’t even have the rewards that everyone wants. I’m not talking about items. I’m talking about achievements. Like the ‘’Worlds first 80’’ or ‘’Servers first whatever’’ Those are the things people want.
Let’s take sports as an example. We’re in the Beijing olympics, Mens 100m Finals. Every sprinter has been training day in and day out since they were 10 years old. They gave up all the fun in life just to accomplish this world record. And then suddenly someone breaks the world record and the whole crowd goes crazy, his name is printed in every newspaper and gets famous all around the world.
Now let’s go back to Guild Wars 2. The hardcore players that break records, the famous gamers that puts in heart & dedication into the games they play. 30 hours of straight grinding just to accomplish something spectacular. And what do they get in return? Absolutely NOTHING. This is why all the famous players quit. The famous gamers that stream and advertise your game gets nothing in return. This is why Guild wars 2 is dead on twitch… No competition at all.

2. The PvP: Like come on…. It’s like you Anet released a game that wasn’t even finished. There is absolutely no competition in the PvP. No ladders, No achievments. No one knows whos the best PvPers, because there is no system that tells you that. The PvP lacks variety. No Arenas, No deathmatches… What the hell?! The game needs INGAME ladders… Not the useless ones posted on forums. The people that actually play your game to the max and stream everyday to give to the community gets nothing in return. Why Anet? Just why?

Instead of fixing these issues, Anet implents useless new items that no one wants. Useless stuff in the gem store. Rushes into fixing stuff problems, that end up getting even more kittened up. If Arena net really wants to make this game an E-sport you guys have to top it up a notch. Because this game lacks basic features.

Anyway, Don’t get me wrong. I love this game and i think it’s the best MMORPG on the market. But it still lacks basic features that makes the game interesting to play. This is just constructive criticism.

The GW franchise has never been nor ever will be about competition. If you want competition go back to wow where it is apparent in every aspect of the game.

I hope they use a little more creativity coming up with a new profession then the same one you see in just about every mmo.

Just my opinion though, and if you like fishing then it probably will differ.

I want fishing to look like fishing.. nothing fancy… I want to cast my line and wait for a fish to bite then reel em in… no lame mini puzzle or game..

In my opinion, the armor is ugly in GW2

Of all the MMO games I have played GW armor is ugly. No cool looking armor just to be cool looking. I do not know who designs the armor but why no cool swashbuckler style armor for light armor.. why is it all so ugly. I play a Female Ranger and armor is ugly no female style at all in the armor.. same with the male armor. I ultimately hate the looks of almost all the armor in GW.

Sorry, but I don’t agree with you. I have seen ugly armor a lot in wow. Armor in this game is a lot better.

Its such a nothing mechanic. Everything you need to group for (dungeons/fractals) can be done easily cross server anyway.

I really think its massive fail to put so much time into producing this feature. Maybe next time it would be better to actually work on PvP and WvW more than for 5 minutes every day. You know…that huge section of the game which hasnt been updated for 5 months and the one which is dying as a result?

I predict you will be wrong.. Just because you think it is a nothing mechanic doesn’t mean the other gamers won’t benefit from it.. Please remember that games are not created to evolve around 1 player.

The only thing that I would change would be that in order to use WP you actually need to stand near one.
To be able to teleport from any location is just stupid and nothing can explain why are we able to just disappear from anywhere.

I like it the way it is.. Hopefully your character will get into a situation and the only way out is to waypoint… guess what, if they did it the way you want you are then stuck.. So no, that idea is lame.

I really dont like way point system. Sure its nice to zip from one place to another with ease, but honestly for immersion sake, I would rather ride through a zone to get to the amazing dragon or what ever, then just appering when he spanws and killing him for the sake of loot. It really takes away the epic feeling you get from slaying a beast as large as a dragon.

What would I like to see? Less waypoints, more mounts; at least mounts with a temporary speed boost, with a moderate cool down so zone size wouldn’t shrink.

I like the waypoints, just don’t like the fee.. They have already stated there will be no mounts in this game. Last thing I want is someone on a mount sitting on a merchant npc I need to access because they lack consideration for the other gamers… It is best the mounts stay out. Waypoints do not break the immersion.. After all the asuras built the gates and the waypoints. They are part of Tyria.

Was reading the blog and now they wish to make you pay for a server transfer?? Why..only a excuse to get more money from the player base, whats next a subscription to post on the forums..this game has quickly turned into a Much more costly game than when it was pre-purchased.

The server transfers were never gonna be free to begin with. How is it you didn’t know this? It was stated before launch that it will cost 1800 gems to transfer and that the limit of transfer is 7 days before you could transfer again.. They left it free for a while so everyone could get placed on the servers they want to be on. So stop acting as if this news is new, it’s not.

Why are people doing dragon bosses?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Eladriel.7295

Eladriel.7295

Hi, this may be an odd question but, I just want to see what it’s all about.

I just recently started doing dragon events Shatterer,Jormag, and Tequatl, but all 10 times I did it I got nothing valuable from the chest. Only blues, eventually a green, and some useless medallion.

I read there is a small chance that they drop legendary precursors or mystifc forge stones, but I haven’t seen that happen yet, to any1. So why are people still doing these dragons even tough obviously you don’t get anything worthwhile? Is there some sort of secret I’m not familiar with or I’m just unlucky with the drops?

There must be something if people are doing it on daily basis for 3 months now.

Does everything you do have to have a price on it? That’s over 99% of these post I read.. it’s all about not enough rewards.. What’s wrong with doing things for fun for once. You still get xp, karma and money from the events. Yeah, sometimes when do them I get nothing but blues and greens.. so what.. more mats for me when I salvage them or sell the to trading post or to a vendor.. Or salvage them fro the rune or sigil off the greens.. either way it is always benefical to me doing the dragon events.. Fun..

Is this game..dead?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Eladriel.7295

Eladriel.7295

you know what a dead game is right?

or a dying game.

look at Battllefield 3 / Diablo 3.

For an MMO – GW2 fits the definition of a dying game.

Saw it with Warhammer. Saw it with Age of Conan. Saw it with Star Wars: The Old Republic. The same patterns. And here players don’t even have to pay to play.

I don’t think you even know what the definition of a dying game is.. My server is live and well and in the lead for wvw.. There are always a crap load of people for the dragon events and a lot in Queensdale doing the events there. This game isn’t dying.

I craft, unlock new recipes or buy them.. and yet how am I suppose to recognize one as an exploit.. All I know is what the recipe calls for.. I don’t know if it is right or wrong.. I can’t read Anets mind.. I have no clue what mats Anet intended for any recipes.. So maybe I just may stop crafting and using the trading post altogether.. Yes.

The game gives you the option of talking to people, not when you are forced to, but rather when you want to.

If you are playing the game by yourself, without never trying to interact with people simply because the game is not forcing you to… Why are you playing a MMO, again?

The thing is.
Everything is obtainable without help.
I play MMO’s to work with people to obtain a great goal you could not do alone. There’s none of that in GW2.

And no one ever wants to why would i want to risk repair bill on players who may not be good on content i can complete on my own?

Really? Judging others by how they play? What are the names of your characters so I’ll know who not to group with? I’m afraid I may not measure up to your high standards of game play..

“Too much stuff here is optional”

You don’t even have to speak to another player in game and you can get full Exotics. You don’t even have to talk to anyone and you get credit for Boss DE’s and WvW. I’m starting to notice i rarely party with anyone outside of dungeons. I don’t party with anyone in WvW either, spvpp doesn’t really count.

This entire game is solable and since it is no one communicates outside of LA.

Anyone getting this feel i’m starting to feel that the MM in MMO is lost for GW2.

You obviously have’t been to orr.. It’s not solo friendly.. You must be one of those players that like being forced to do everything… I like the fact I have a choice to party up, to chat, or whatever else there may be.

Based off of how he’s told his story on Reddit, it doesn’t sound like he did anything worth being banned over. Are we missing anything, ArenaNet?

Aside, if it is unclear whether an exploit is actually exploit, maybe it’d be a better idea to send players an in-game warning asking them to cease and desist instead of permanently banning them? I appreciate that you’re dedicated to fighting exploits, ArenaNet, but it’s more important to communicate and be transparent with your stakeholders.

Sure as if he’s gonna tell you he did it 1000 times of course to make his point valid he’ll say he did only less than a hundred times BS

A.net has the hard facts enough said !
also even if he did it 100 times if I was A.net I’d ban him as well !
doing it 10 times I can understand but by than you should’ve noticed the recipe is utterly broken and that if you continued to profit from it you’d get in trouble.

Think back to the karma exploit issue after all the drama was said and done on reddit the worst offenders were shown the numbers and the why they were banned essentially, most of these people take to reddit to discredit the game by talking lies out of their backsides, and most are naive enough to believe them.

I feel sorry for both the guy that posts on reddit and the readers that actually believe his *BS

Really? How do you know for a fact what he said was BS? Was you there sitting beside him playing the game? Was you there watching as things progressed? No you weren’t.. You just like most of the other know it alls are making assumptions. It really amuses me how some of you people really think you know others when you have never met them.. You make these wild assumptions about someone as if you known them all your life and you really have no clue that your assumptions may be further from the truth. Don’t speak of what you don’t know. In my opinion, Magic find needs to go

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Eladriel.7295

Eladriel.7295

Magic find is an old mechanic that is not fun, but we feal its mandatory

Magic find, promotes players to not be their best they can be, hinder their teamates which is greedy and not cool, magic find needs to be gone from mmos, just make rng based with no magic find and it would be basicly the same thing as having magic find. Think about it.

Getting rid of magic find is innovative

How can you not agree? think of it having magic find really brings nothing to the table except pointless extra grind, if the loot tables are optimized for a no magic find game, players wouldnt notice a difference and we could focus more on having fun with the gear WE WANT instead of having to be underpowered in magic find gear which isnt fun.

Don’t say we have a choice

Remove MF, buff/fix drop rates. Everyone wins. MF is redundant, everyone can get lots of MF its not hard to get, it’s not very expensive, so why not just make that the standard and remove it completely?

I have a choice whether to use magic find or not. I’m sick of players like you that come along and try to influence Anet to take away that choice.. What right do you have to take away my choice to use magic find? None.. so get over it.
