(Suggestion) Black Lion Store

They already block people from making orders below min price. Everything on there now are just leftovers from before the implemented that limitation.

As for cleaning out the old orders… pretty sure Anet has said before that it’d be a lot of trouble for virtually no gain, since the below-min orders aren’t really bothering anything and they’d have to implement some potentially complex code to remove it all.

Adjusting the price of items without relisting would actually be a bad thing for the overall economy, since people could just flip-flop their offers and items with the market with absolutely no cost. And it would make undercutting an enormous problem. Having a tax associated ensures that people are putting up items for reasonable prices (for the most part) and reduces the amount of undercutting.

Branded weapons should totally exist. All the other dragons have weapon sets, why does Kralk get left out? They should have existed since day 1.

Shouldn’t be a Black Lion set, though. Should be craftable in-game like all of the other dragon-based sets. Well, almost all. Mordy skins are BLTC skins, but that’s mostly because Mordremoth wasn’t known about until later.

Crystal Arbiter Outfit. Why ANET?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

The reason the Crystal Arbiter pack isn’t available separately is because it was one of the first appearance packs (actually the first, IIRC) and introduced at a time when those types of packs weren’t available separately at all.

Due to player feedback they made future sets available in the form of individual items after releasing a couple more “locked” ones. But to avoid ticking off all the players who sucked it up and purchased them back in the day, they won’t make the first packs available separately, lest they be bombarded by posts and customer service requests saying “I bought it when it was bundled but didn’t really want the bundle, now I feel ripped off!!!”

[Request] Make time gated items "roll over"

The only way there’d be even a chance of that happening is if they limited it to a certain number. Or else people who have never crafted ascended items could just pop in and make entire ascended sets instantly, which would defeat the entire purpose of the time gate in the first place.

that_shaman has it listed as an endless tonic in his most recent data mining post on Reddit.

Probably one that turns you into either the humanoid or spark version of the Ley Line Anomaly (or perhaps both randomly?).

Haven’t heard anyone mention it in-game yet, could be an item for a future event or just a very rare drop. The events have only been live a little over a day and a half, it wouldn’t be that strange to have it not show up yet.

Possibility for more HoT MPs in LS3?

The future of LA....

in Living World

Electro.4173

I’m not so sure the surging ley lines in LA mean anything as far as hinting at another attack on LA. It could just be consistency.

The ley lines surging with power is a plot point in general. They’re doing it all over the world. And they’ve already established through the Scarlet plot that Lion’s Arch sits on a large concentration / convergence of ley lines. So with those two facts combined, if LA wasn’t experiencing the increased ley line activity on a fairly impressive scale, then it wouldn’t make sense. Obviously the location with the highest concentration of ley lines is going to be experiencing the increases more than other spots where there might just be one ley line. Unless they tried to say something like “Well, Scarlet tunneling into the ley lines broke them” or something silly like that.

Silent Legends?

Electro.4173

The idea discussed in early dev comments about the legends just starting up conversations with your character randomly while just walking around was entirely dropped. Sadly. It sounded like an interesting mechanic.

There are 3 specific things that trigger legend speeches. Healing skills, elite skills, and legend swapping. Though I think some legends don’t have dialogue for some of those either (like, I don’t think Ventari has one for the heal skill). And yes, they’re very rare, its not uncommon for me to go a whole play session without hearing any of the legend dialogues. More often you just get the grunts and yells or nothing at all. But if you’re specifically looking to hear them, you can sit around spamming those 3 things and pray to RNGesus.

Lack of off-hand symbols

in Guardian

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

I do think every potential weapon layout should have access to at least one symbol. There are way too many symbol traits in the Guardian specializations to justify any weapon set (much less multiple possible sets) being completely unable to use said traits. They should be a core Guardian mechanic, because the traitlines treat them as one.

However, I also favor putting them on the mainhand weapons that currently don’t have them rather than the offhands. Most of the offhands don’t really have room for a symbol without some kind of sweeping change to the way one of the skills work. And Mace already has a symbol, so while I certainly don’t think a possible 2-symbol build would be “broken” I do think it’d be more in-line with other similar concepts to leave it at one per weapon set.

I like the idea of making Zealot’s Defense a projectile-denial Symbol. Sure, it’d be a bit different than other symbols, but it would still fit the overall concept of support. Could either have it be like Corrosive Poison Cloud where it just destroys projectiles that pass through it, or have it just give projectile immunity to anyone standing in the symbol’s radius (the latter being more in-line with other symbols). And pretty much everyone agrees that it needs a major rework anyway.

Scepter is a bit more tricky. I’m sure some will say “No, its easy, just make Smite a symbol and call it a day”. But that would pretty drastically alter Smite’s basic concept, which is burst damage in a small area, and as a consequence pretty drastically alter the Scepter itself as well. Symbols aren’t bursty in the slightest. Smite as a symbol would have to do a lot less damage (unless it was going to be called a symbol in name only, not functionality). It’d no longer be able to hit a single enemy a large number of times, which reduces synergy with Justice as well as the Zealous Scepter trait. Without Smite, the Scepter’s damage, which is currently fairly respectable at least in situations where you can actually hit with it, would plummet. Which, since its entire purpose is as a DPS weapon, would be pretty problematic. They’d have to make Chains of Light a more damage-oriented skill to compensate.

So that probably means Chains of Light would have to go (or change dramatically), one way or another. Either it goes in favor of a symbol skill, or Smite becomes a symbol and Chains of Light becomes a burst skill of some sort.

Making Chains a burst skill would probably help the weapon more in PvP, so that may be the way to go. Perhaps it could be a “pseudo-DoT” in a similar vein to Binding Blades, but do a lot more damage and perhaps pulse a smaller amount of damage to nearby foes, giving it a bit of AoE application as well. That would also allow it to keep its current visuals, the chains wrapping around the foe to burn them with energy for their duration or whatever.

Unrelenting Assault with Confusion

I don’t think its a bug per-se. Rather, I think its due to the fact that UA is programmed differently than most other skills and is actually programmed to act kitten separate attacks, likely for a specific reason related to the unique properties of the attack. Perhaps its because its a single-target attack that hits multiple enemies. Perhaps its because they wanted it to end if the original target died.

What do you think of Lion's Arch?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Electro.4173

I absolutely adore the ocean creature themes for the buildings. I am a HUGE fan of underwater creatures. Like, when I was a kid, fish and other underwater creatures were my thing. Some kids have dinosaurs, or robots, or monsters, or whatever. Not that I dislike all of those things either, but fish were always my favorite things. They’re what I’d draw, my favorite childhood books were fish related, and the first pets I wanted were fish.

And they still are, though not quite to the extent of a child. I’ve got a fish tank in my room, one of my dream vacations is the great barrier reef…

So yeah. I love them.

But I can see why others might find them silly. Heck, even Anet themselves knew that it was silly on some level, since you have some of the NPCs in the game poking fun at it (off the top of my head, there’s a Charr that says something like “Yeah, I’m sure it was really necessary to make your building shaped like on octopus” and another pair of NPCs who have a discussion about the odd shape of the fortress, eventually leading to the Charr of the pair saying “Burn me, its a stingray”).

Still love it myself, though. And I think it fits just fine with the nature of the city. Its a nautical city, so an ocean creature theme fits there. Its a gathering place for all races AND a place that most tourists either visit or pass through, so it makes sense to make it showy and make it seem like its a fusion of different construction types. And yah, its not a ramshackle pirate town any more, but that makes sense too, since they rebuilt it specifically to be more defensible and sturdy after having it destroyed. Concrete and steel are far more sturdy than a bunch of broken down ships nailed together.

And gameplay-wise, as a few have brought up, having distinctly shaped buildings makes it easier to navigate.

All that said, while I love the new LA design-wise, I will agree with many who say that its not exactly the most convenient in terms of gamplay. The most used conveniences like the bank and TP are a little too far apart, and the waypoints don’t help much either. Heck, they could probably fix the problem entirely by just adding waypoints to the TP and maybe the crafting center (though its not really that time consuming to go from the bank WP to the crafting section). Its not THAT bad by any means, though. Heck, I think its probably pretty similar to the original LA in terms of convenience, people just got used to the destroyed LA where everything was literally on top of each other.

Why no flail skins?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

I’d rather have flails as a new weapon type in the future than see a few flail skins slapped on maces. While flails CAN do most of the stuff maces can, they can also some stuff maces CAN’T. It’d be a shame to waste that potential just turning them into maces, IMO.

Of course, that’s assuming new weapon types are ever going to happen at all. I guess if the devs have already decided they’re never making new weapons then they may as well make flail-maces. But if new weapon types are still possible, I’d just as soon save them for that possibility.

Raid lore for non Raiders

I wish they had a solo form map with no raid bosses. Just normal mobs and the NPCs that you could speak to.

I’d settle for a way to just tick a box and you go in after it’s been “cleared” by the troops and your just there for “reports”

I absolutely love that idea. Being able to enter the cleared area as a non-combatant / researcher would be a great way for non-Raiders to explore the areas and soak in some of the lore while also being lore-friendly itself. It absolutely makes sense that people would want to enter the cleared out areas to investigate the goings on.

Heck, I’d love to see something like that for dungeons even. I’m sure there’s some interesting stuff in there that most people never see during regular dungeon play.

Unspent Hero Points to Spirit Shards?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

Hero points are a finite resource now. You get a certain amount from levelling, a certain amount from hero point challenges, and that’s it.

Allowing them to be converted so something else would be a terrible idea. Even if they keep adding new hero points every time they add a new elite spec, it’d still be completely possible for players to permanently lock themselves out of elite specs by spending their hero points on spirit shards or whatever else you could convert them to prior to getting their elite specs. Unlikely, perhaps, but still possible.

Craftable food recipes... Lackluster?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

I don’t really have a problem with some foods being used as ingredients for other foods that are vastly different in terms of their stats, so long as it doesn’t end up making said food insanely expensive. It makes sense to an extent, at least to the extent that any food magically making you better at stuff does. Sure, the base food may be included in the ingredients, but its being combined with other things that alter the end result. Thus yielding different boons.

The pricing / ingredient costs on some of the new foods needs a serious looking at, though. That’s sadly been a running theme with a lot of new foods added to the game after the initial release, that their prices and the number of items it takes to craft them are just silly compared to the base food items from launch. And they’re not strictly “better” for the most part, just different, so having the prices vary so wildly between them doesn’t really make sense to me.

And yeah, there are cases where festival foods just flat-out beat crafted foods. Not necessarily in effectiveness, but in ease of acquiring, simply because festivals tend to absolutely flood the market with festival items to the point where they sell for vendor price or otherwise very cheap. Not really sure what can be done about that, though. If you just make the festival food inferior then it becomes useless, which is no good. There are already people that feel festivals just give out useless junk, so to further that feeling by literally making everything dropped inferior would be a bad idea.

Perhaps the best solution there is just no solution at all. Sure, on some level its a bummer that a crafted recipe is just pointless, but perhaps instead of looking at is like “Wow, my crafted food isn’t needed” you can look at it like “Cool, I can save some gold buying festival food instead”.

All trees have a chance to give you 1-2 extra “hits” and a few extra materials as a result. Which ores don’t have. Or at least don’t have nearly as often. It seems to happen a lot more with trees.

I’m guessing that’s meant to simulate the effect of occasionally finding a Rich Ore node without actually having “large” trees. Percentage-wise its probably supposed to even out over a large harvesting sample or something. Like, if you harvest everything you see on a map, the extra mats from random trees giving you more than 3 hits is meant to give you the same number of materials as getting the Rich Ore nodes on that map.

Of course, the difference there is that you can specifically farm Rich Ores since they spawn either in static locations or a set number of random spots. Which probably makes Rich nodes “better” at least in some ways.

It could also be that they just didn’t think “rich nodes” were necessary for trees since wood is used in less items than ore. Ore is used for weapons, jewelry, and heavy armor. Wood is only used for weapons.

why is jallis not usable underwater?

in Revenant

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

There are 2 reasons for no underwater Jallis, as I see it.

One is Inspiring Reinforcement. Its a ground-targeted attack, which don’t work underwater because you aren’t always fighting anywhere near the ground. Of course, since the ground targeting only effects which direction the road is built from your location, it would be easy enough to just follow whatever direction you’re currently facing, so that’s not a big reason I don’t think.

The bigger reason is the hammers. We all know how finicky they already are, what with them having collision and stopping when they hit solid objects. Right now they only have a horizontal axis. If they were used underwater, they’d have to change to skill to also have a vertical axis, since you’re fighting in 3 dimensions and enemies aren’t always going to be next to you horizontally, they could be above or below you. And that would mean even more problems with the collision, and basically require a completely separate skill for underwater use.

Granted, I’m sure both of those problems COULD be solved easily enough. But underwater combat is a very, very low priority for the dev team so they’d probably rather focus their efforts elsewhere. Which is why they didn’t even fix the Mallyx torment field skill. Originally, it teleported enemies out of its area of effect, but that was later deemed too powerful and awkward and was changed to a normal AoE like we have now. The underwater version still has the original functionality, though. They care so little about underwater that they didn’t even bother to fix the underwater version, and players care so little that its barely even brought up.

Boon duration question

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Boon Duration effects all boons that you apply. Doesn’t matter if you’re applying them to yourself or others, if the boon came from you in some way it’ll benefit from your boon duration modifiers.

And yes, that also applies to boon-specific boosts like %Might. Those are essentially Boon Duration modifiers but restricted to one boon, so they follow the same mechanics.

How to bring turrets up to snuff

in Engineer

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

Not sure that would make turrets all that good even then, but it couldn’t hurt. Losing access to toolbelts is certainly a bummer.

That said, I wouldn’t want to lose the overcharge effects. Most of them are way too good to add them as the turret auto-attacks, so they’d likely just end up gone entirely. Perhaps what they could do instead is make the Detonate a chain skill off Overcharge. Any time your turret’s overcharge is on cooldown you have access to Detonate, and once the overcharge comes off cooldown the skill flips back to Overcharge again.

Sure, it would require double-tapping a turret in order to Detonate it, which may take some getting used to. But I don’t think it would be a complete gamebreaker or anything, especially since all Overcharges and Detonates are 0 cast time so you could still do a Detonate really fast. There’d probably be some complaints from people accidentally blowing up their turrets (like how some Necro players complain about exiting death shroud accidentally when trying to enter it because they double-tap) but that’s just a learning thing.

The other alternative would probably be just to make the overcharges automatic, so after X amount of attacks the turret automatically enters an overcharge state, and then use the summon flip as Detonate. But that would be a rather huge change and make turrets even more passive (and would ruin Healing Turret, though some might argue that’d be for the best).

What WEIRD stuff do YOU do in-game?

I totally do the first thing you mentioned as well.

Although sometimes instead of doing a soft landing I’ll drop my glider a bit early for a dramatic “superhero pose” type fall. And when I do that I always make sure I’m 100% still do I get the full landing animation.

I kind of do the second as well, though its usually something more like using a leap skill through a portal than just jumping. Or sometimes dodge jumping.

As for others… hmmm…

When I buy stuff from the trading post, I almost always put my offer as a repeating number. So, like, 55g 55s 55c. Unless its going to cost me significantly more to do so.

I try to position myself so that the visual of my pick / axe matches up with the tree / ore when I’m harvesting. Also, if other people are around I’ll try not to stand on top of them while I’m harvesting and get annoyed if I’m already harvesting and someone comes and starts harvesting on top of me.

I manually sheath my weapons every time I get done with a fight. And every time I take fall damage. And when I’m running by an enemy I don’t intend to fight and get hit by a random attack. So pretty much any time I have my weapons drawn ankitten ot currently fighting.

Annoyed about Guild Cavalier's Weapons

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

I get the impression that the weapons weren’t specifically designed with guilds in mind, but rather as they were being developed or even after they were done someone on the development team got the idea to either add a guild emblem to the cloth or even added the entire cloth portion after they were done for extra visual flair. Some of the cloth bits look rather tacked on, as if they were added because they had to be and not originally designed that way. And even the with the ones that seem more natural, the subdued way the emblem is displayed makes me think it was an afterthought rather than designed with the guild emblem in mind. All the other guild gear that uses the emblem has it displayed prominently and the design is meant to draw attention to it, where here its just kind of dangling off the end and only slightly noticeable.

And the dev team liked the idea enough and since it was an easy enough change to make they decided to run with it and make it a little “bonus”.

So I don’t really get the feeling that they intentionally withheld the weapons in order to pressure guilds to buy them or anything like that.

There are so many rarely seen weapons that its tough to call out specific examples without creating a massive list. I could probably go through the wardrobe of any particular weapon type and find a dozen weapons I’ve never seen anyone using.

Just off the top of my head though, I’ve never seen anyone with either of the Karka bows (Crustacea and Arthropoda) other than myself. And the Delusion staff is pretty darn rare too, not helped by the fact that the only way to get it is via forge / random drop since it became account-bound when they removed Magic Find and they never fixed it.

They’d have to completely change the way pets work in the game so that you could actually tame multiple copies of the same pet, rather than the way it works now where “taming” a pet basically just unlocks it for use.

Which would require an actual database for pets, and judging by the fact that they won’t even devote a simple database to keeping your pets names stored… yeah, not going to happen.

[Suggestion] Water Spirit Tweak

in Ranger

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

Perma-Resistance on pets through Fortifying Bond sounds broken as heck and would probably end up getting the Resistance aspect of FB nerfed to oblivion. You can’t even corrupt it at that point either, because it’ll just get reapplied a couple seconds later.

Plus, looking at how limited Resistance has been given out so far, I’m guessing the devs wouldn’t want to give it to a passive skill like a Spirit on an automatic proc, even with a very short duration.

The only place I could reasonably see Resistance getting added is to the active ability of the spirit. Gives some Resistance while still having counterplay and requiring active application as opposed to just passivity. Which would actually be a pretty nice buff to the active, which isn’t that impressive.

Crafting New Stats is Un-Needly Tedious

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

Never ever craft 4 stat ascended equipment. Craft vanilla ascended items and stat swap in the forge. Saves you a ton of money and effort.

^ This +1000

The original poster already knows this. He even said as much in his original thread, and advised others to do it that way over crafting it from scratch. But from the sounds of it, he wanted to make one the “normal” way as a change of pace after already making and transmuting one the “easy” way.

The fact that doing it that way is infinitely better than doing it through normal crafting is pretty dumb when you think about it, though. I really don’t see what the logic behind that was. It shouldn’t be so much more costly to craft a 4-stat gear weapon from scratch than it is to transmute one. To some extent, sure, its often better to craft the cheapest ascended item and transmute it even in the case of normal stat combinations (particularly the more expensive ones like Berserker). But with the new HoT combos the difference is far more skewed, which is silly.

That said, the issue definitely isn’t the recipes. They drop frequently enough (and are permanent drops) that just buying them from the TP is a perfectly reasonable way of acquiring them. Heck, its actually cheaper buying the recipe from the TP than the cost of a normal ascended stat combination through laurels if you consider them in terms of potential monetary value. The problem is the ridiculous amount of Linseed Oil and the random HoT ascended crafting mats you need to make even one ascended piece. Most of which are bypassed if you just make the insignia and stat-swap it in the forge.

Its really bad design, IMO. In an ideal world, they’d reduce the costs for the items dramatically but factor in the new materials in the inscription so that you aren’t able to just get around almost all of it through forging. Sadly, its more likely they’d just leave the cost alone and toss it all into the inscription, making them insanely expensive (comparatively) with any method, so silly as the current system is, its probably better now than it would be if it were fixed.

Pistol piercing

in Engineer

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

I’m fine with Fragmentation Shot not piercing. Heck, I’d actually prefer if they kept it non-piercing and instead just increased the AoE radius a bit and let the bleed spread to other targets. It differentiates it more from Rifle, which is nice, and makes more sense conceptually since a shot that was weak enough to fragment (or explode) wouldn’t be able to pierce a target at the same time.

Dart Volley, on the other hand, absolutely needs to pierce. Its already got a pointless spread on its shots which makes it a bit unreliable on distant targets, it shouldn’t also be hindered by the fact that if you’re fighting multiple enemies half your shots will be blocked by other enemies as well. And the extra AoE / cone damage from piercing shots would be very nice to make the skill more appealing.

New Elite Spec Idea: Pyromancer!

in Elementalist

Posted by: Electro.4173

Electro.4173

Guardian’s trade their virtues for other virtues that all work off the same traits and skills that the original virtues do. A trait that buffs Virtue of Justice still works on Spear of Justice. A trait that buffs Virtue of Resolve still works with Wings of Resolve.

That’s completely different than entirely discarding all attunements besides Fire. That would render so many traits completely useless. Any trait that only works in Water / Earth / Air, useless. Zephyr’s Speed, Stone Flesh, Soothing Mist, all “Training” traits (Aeromancer, Geomancer, Hydromancer). Any trait that activates on swapping to Water / Earth / Air, useless. Lighting Strike, Healing Ripple, Earthen Blast, Elemental Attunement. Not to mention heavily restricting Glyphs.

Losing something is fine, but elite specs still have to work with the core specs. That’s one of the main design philosophies that Anet themselves have put forth, that the elite specs need to work with core specs, not against them.

And even if crowdfunding for large companies wasn’t a horrible idea, money isn’t the issue here anyway, manpower is. So unless you’re going to give them enough money to hire two a dozen additional programmers, it wouldn’t change a darn thing anyway.

Its a blanket term that GW2 (and other games) uses to denote one hit of a multi-hit AoE attack (or even a multi-hit buffing skill). A pulse is a single hit, and the number of pulses represents how many times that attack will hit over its duration.

A skill that pulses 3 times will hit enemies who stay in the field 3 times before the field disappears. Most skills “pulse” every second, but there are some that pulse less frequently.

Any of the newer outfit bundles they’ve added have had options to buy the items separately, so they’ve clearly listened to the criticism and complaints on that end.

However, I think its unlikely the old ones will ever be split up since there are no doubt people who bought them at the time but would have preferred them split up, and they probably don’t want to put up with the further complaints there would be from those people who bought them in the original bundle. Basically the same thing you yourself mentioned about how you don’t want to buy now and then need to ask for a refund later, which is no doubt exactly what many people who already bought the bundle would probably end up doing.

In addition to just the extra work for CS of offering refunds (or replying to requests saying no) there’s also the issue of stuff like the special weapon skin and dyes. Those types of things would be tricky to remove from an account in the case of a refund being administered. And if no refunds are given, then there would be remaining complaints of people who feel they wasted money on the bundle when they didn’t want everything and now they could have bought it separate.

Changing future items is easy enough, but changing an item people have already paid money for is a more problematic issue, especially bundles.

[Feedback] New sword animation

I watched a video of all the old animations. Norn definitely had a really odd one prior to the patch, so I can see how Norn players might prefer the new one.

For all other races, though… the new one is a definite downgrade if you ask me. Too flaily, and in general they all seem to pull their arms way too far back before the hits. Its ironic that the skills are now named stuff like “Precision Strike” when there’s clearly no precision anywhere in the animation.

And yeah, the apparent DPS loss due to slower overall string speed sucks too, when Ranger DPS isn’t exactly amazing to begin with.

Guess what I got from 10 BLC?

i explored a map, got 1 key, opened 1 chest and got a full ticket and a balthazar skin.
i felt like i was blessed

I got a key from my personal story today and got 1 Bank Express, 1 Transmutation Charge (why the heck are single transmutation charges even a “thing” in chests…), and 1 Unidentified Die. Yeah, I’d say yours was a pretty good draw

I’m guessing the changes they made to Glyphs in the quarterly patch to give them unique icons is to blame. Specifically, I’m guessing that all glyphs are now considered separate skills in every attunement and they forgot to program all the different skills into the trait.

The Elemental summoning glyphs already had unique icons, so they weren’t affected by the change and thus still work. And Glyph of Storms, while it didn’t have unique icons before, did have unique names based on what attunement you were in, so they were probably already individual skills before as well.

That’s just a guess, though.

More dailies needed per day

Would it be possible to make HoT dailies like a 5th option? Have 4 dailies from central Tyria like before, and then add a 5th HoT daily?

I was going to make that suggestion as well initially. 4 Central Tyria PvE dailies and 2 Heart of Thorns dailies, just like how festival dailies are separate from the normal PvE dailies.

However, I imagine that would tick off all the non-HoT players who would argue that they now have less options to choose from compared to HoT players. So I decided it’d be better to just increase the flat number instead.

I was definitely hoping that the addition of more dailies meant a larger number available each day, as opposed to just adding a bunch of new options to the existing 4-4-4 scheme. Doesn’t have to be a ton more, but something like 6 PvE options would be a nice little expansion without just making the dailies trivial. They could probably do more PvP / WvW options too, though they may have to come up with more categories for those to keep them from being the too similar each day.

I don’t mind rather specific daily goals in general, but a wider selection of goals to choose from would be nice.

Chaos Weapon Skins

Chaos skins aren’t THAT old, so there’s probably plenty of people who have been hoarding them, and the new source spooked a lot of them into selling fast in hopes of getting as much gold as possible before it dropped even lower. And as others have said, that creates a sudden spike in supply which drives the prices down even more.

Its a shame Zodiac skins haven’t done the same. I want that darned Greatsword. My Necromancer has a celestial / sky theme that the Zodiac GS would fit perfectly. But since they’re a lot older, there’s less supply and the above effect doesn’t really apply.

Can’t comment on the human animation, but I find the animation on my Charr rather odd as well. I think its because the sword swings are way too high. Considering their hunched posture, its really odd seeing them swing the sword way up there instead of at a more natural height. And the little sword twirl on the 3rd strike is a bit silly.

I do certainly miss the acrobatics of the old animations as well, though. The new one feels so… stagnant. I guess we still have the other attacks for more movement though.

Expanded SAB Boom Boxes

So with SAB leaving tomorrow, one of the main things I’m going to be missing is the amazing tunes. So of course I bought both of the boomboxes so I can enjoy the music even while SAB is away. Well, most of the songs, anyway. There are still some missing, like…

~ World 1 ~
- The “dark” section of Dark Forest
- The cart smashing bonus game

~ World 2 ~
- The river rafting section
- The Yeti battle
- The bandit bonus game

Seeing how we have 9 potential “slots” for different songs on each boombox (not counting the one used to stop playing) but only 5 currently used, I’d love to see them expanded to really include every music track from their respective worlds. Most of the missing tracks are pretty good, so its a shame they get left out. Perhaps there could even be a button that activates the tribulation mode / Dusk version of each song, though that could be problematic since some don’t have one.

Also, for next Super Adventure Festival, I’d love to see an additional boombox added called “World 0” (or perhaps World -1 for the Mario reference) which would have all of the starter area / non-World specific tracks.

- The lobby area
- The stage selection cabin (which is actually the main thing that made me think of this request, I’m actually listening to it right now as I’m posting, so good)
- The map screen
- The secret area / underground theme
- The end-of-map theme (the one that plays once you defeat the boss until you warp to the next stage)

I just need more SAB music. Ideally, ALL of it.

AB Meta: Please nerf the massive Zerk

The ability to zerg the event in and of itself I don’t have too much of a problem with. Granted, I’d prefer a situation where everyone has to split up and coordinate to a zerg, but its not a gamebreaking issue or anything.

I do wish they’d do something about being able to get 4x rewards for doing it, though. It sucks that anyone who sticks to one lane and is integral to its completion (like those players using armors) is getting the normal reward while everyone running around spamming with the zerg gets far, far more in terms of experience and currency rewards. It “forces” people to zerg or get less loot, and that’s bad. If people want to zerg, it should be because they would simply rather play that way, not because they get more stuff for doing it, and the people who prefer to station themselves at one section and see it through to the end shouldn’t be getting less.

I don’t get extra rewards if I go and smack a second Gerent in TD, so why does smacking an extra Octovine get me more?

SAB lacks rewards

They’ve been pretty good with adding new rewards to festivals lately. Both Halloween and Wintersday got some new stuff this time around. So now that this is a recurring festival as well, hopefully they’ll add a few new goodies for us next time. Heck, they already added the Kaiser Snake weapons / SAB infusions this time around (as well as the boomboxes, even though they technically existed before they were gemstore items previously). And of course all the guild decorations. So that’s a good sign.

There are still plenty of SAB creatures who could get mini pets (I’d love a Mini Tribulation Cloud and a Mini Snake), there are lots of tonic opportunities as far as turning you into SAB mobs like the Super Adventure Box of Fun does… I’d even be happy to see another SAB-themed back item since the backpack is a little bland. And of course more colors for weapons.

And that’s not even bringing up the possibility of actually getting World 3 at some point, even if the chances of that aren’t stellar.

Why haven't you built a Legendary Weapon?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Electro.4173

There are a couple reasons I haven’t bothered with legendaries and most likely won’t any time soon.

~ I’m not exactly a super rich player and would rather spend what money I do have on multiple nice skins than blow it all on a single legendary skin, especially when most legendary skins aren’t really more appealing to me than “normal” skins anyway

~ I don’t do WvW / PvP under normal circumstances. If there was ever a legendary I absolutely positively loved I might be persuaded to do those things enough to get said legend, but so far none of them are that good.

~ I don’t really care for super overblown particle heavy weapons. Which isn’t to say I only like basic ones with zero effects either, there are definitely some weapons with particle effects I like, but most legendaries tend to go a little too far and get excessive with their visual noise for my tastes.

The closest I’ve ever come to considering making a legendary is Frenzy, just because it would fit my Ranger perfectly, looks pretty sweet, and isn’t too particle-silly, plus its pretty cheap compared to most. But even then, I still don’t quite want it enough to go after it.

Well, and I am sort of considering going through part of the Nevermore collections (though that fractals component of the first piece is making me hesitate, I don’t do fractals either). But even then, I don’t at all plan on going all the way to Nevermore. I just want the Ravenswood Staff. To me, nice wooden staff with a carved raven = awesome. Giant glowy blue raven that flaps about and stuff…. not so much. Too showy.

would you like to see gyros again?

If any elite spec ever just reuses the same utility type as a previous one I’ll be hugely disappointing. New elite specs are supposed to be just that, new. If the utilities need to be fixed, fix them with the current spec, don’t rehash the same concept just to “fix” them.
