Been thinking about think a bit more…..
I think/assume/want to believe that we want more items that do not effect the content being released. I much rather have items completely separate from content instead of what only seems to have been the basis of lackluster content. I don’t want them to create items for the gem shop then dictate content around said items. It really has had that feel to me, that they only create content to sell items.
A few years ago I got into a debate on guru about the release of the cash shop in gw1 and where it was leading. There seemed to be an overwhelming support for the shop back then and a contempt for anyone questioning it. I know I was called numerous names for suggesting that it was the beginning of a slippery slope. Yet several years later here we are with much more of a cash shop, that without question has a substantial effect on the game.
That said, I want clarity in regards to the gem shop. I doubt we will ever get any, but none the less the premise of the thread is “things we want”. By clarity I mean several things. I would like to have the rng removed from the shop. It’s shady business that makes me feel they have become rather slimy working on a slippery slope. I would like to know the basis of releases. Do lulls in the gem exchange prompt sales/releases to keep it elevated? I would like to know the basis of some of the prices. How do they ascertain certain items’ prices (boosters etc).
All in all I have come to terms with the shop being here. I just don’t like where it seems to be going and the way it has been managed in terms of relating to the game and the effect it has on the game.
Thx for supporting RNG chests so we will be sure to get more in the future…………………………

Enjoyed every drop I got lol And since I have the money for the “optional” content it produces, I have no regrets
My 4 fused tickets outfit my Charr and Asura well, 10 characters left to outfit with cool skins not from TP.
Hmm odd how things change………
Oh man, someone can just close this thread. It’s over. I changed my mind, leave it open, he’s bragging about his IRL money, let’s watch the slow descent into madness. /popcorn.
Not bragging, just find peoples responses ill informed. People rather attack others than have a discussion, this is whats wrong with the world today. But oh well, kids will be kids I suppose, regardless of age.
I’m not exactly sure what you were expecting. My comment was about the mindset “It’s not my problem unless it happens to me.”, which was evident by your prior post which I quoted. It was eluding to the tendency people have.
A lot of people don’t see things as problems when it doesn’t affect them, even when such things are obviously an issue. (not in my backyard) However, like in this instance, when something eventually does affect them, people’s perceptions tend to change.
I am sorry you took it as some kind of personal attack, but admittedly I have found the resulting exchanges rather amusing.
PS..I rather enjoy the food buffs and minis that we get when we open the coffers. They are (imo) much better than mystery tonics and crafting/glory/experience/killstreak/rejuvination boosters from the blc’s.
already an option in game.
its called muting the “EFFECTS” sound
Come on you know better than that. That’s not even remotely acceptable.
Well you’d think they make these so only the player using them could hear them, but nope. Evidently the QA/QC team is sleeping on the job as this is a no brainer and should have been one of the 1st questions asked when developing such an item. “Will this item negatively effect other players?” Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

Some pictures of sword and pistol.
those r by far the best imo
That’s what happens when QA/QC is not doing a good job.
Other players and only other players. If it were not for them, I would have left what has become my rng nightmare a long time ago.
Mystic forge upgrade chance booster…. As much as I think it would be a bs item my ill luck with the forge rng has me at ends and I am grasping at straws now.
Oh and an item that turns off (on my end..like a mute button for specific things) all the blasted noises that other players make with horns, bells, and every other annoying thing that are and will be sold in the shop.

Market manipulation is impossible in this game. Some commodities have turn overs of several millions per day. That’s impossible to manipulate. The margins on precursors have likewise become too small to seriously manipulate.
There’s a very big difference between “flipping” and “manipulating”, something which you don’t seem to understand.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but in no way is it impossible in this game. It happens constantly. Like you noted some “commodities” are not well suited for it, but that does not mean it doesn’t happen at all to others.
New mouses and keyboard are circumventing any current detection for widespread known said type issues in games……….to say they are not aware of such things in this game would be ignorant of me.
I’ve had everything for a legendary minus the precursor for a while now. I also had the means to buy any of the ones off the tp, but that’s completely irrelevant to me. For one of the pinnacle achievements in the game, I should not have to buy it off the tp or have to rely on luck. There already is an achievement for gold, heck there are several (golden, the emperor, mini collector, etc). As for luck…..well I don’t want to even think about how many I could have bought if I sold everything I have thrown in to the mystic toilet or how many event chests I have opened.
Basically the whole deal is, for lack of better words, “bogus”. It’s much like getting a degree via a checkbook or random lottery versus actually having to take the classes and pass them.
There is not much about them in their current state that appeals to me except that they are tied to an achievement and a medal. Hopefully in the future they will release ones that cannot be more easily had by simply standing in LA playing the tp or repetitive grind such as CoF P1.
Hmmm
Changed the rarity of the Mini Holographic Risen Knight from Rare to Masterwork to reflect the actual value of the item.
Has anyone tried forging it again?
Edit YES they still forge together
(edited by Essence Snow.3194)
It’s mainly b/c they tied the achievement to it. Admittedly I considered doing it myself for them since I do not find the water downed format fun, but my conscience won’t allow me to.
Just out of curiosity will it kick akitten players like the regular game does after a certain time frame? I am aware that it places them in the middle of the arena, but am not so sure about full kick.
COF p1
your welcome.
Fractals is considerably more profitable in 30+ levels.
Huuhhhhh? I’ve been going 48 on 2 toons for a while and don’t come close to the CoF p1 profit/time ratio.
Its 120mm default case fans, could i add in a liquid system on top of that?
Oh and i built like a proto-pc for price comparisons sake on cyber power.http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1F6E9K
Look like this would hold up for a while?
Here is the same build not via cyberpower
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/15Jzq
It’s basically 174 bucks cheaper…….not to mention it tells you that the case picked does not have usb 3.0 front panel and has a better HDD. (granted the 660 is a 2gb but tbh there is really no reason to spend the extra cash on 3gb vs 2gb on a 660 rather than spending that difference on a better card)
The mouse and keyboard can be bought separate for 28 dollars
http://compare.ebay.com/like/380655778276?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar
As for a cpu cooler…the one picked is mainly a OEM very basic watercooler. If you were to build yourself you can afford an upgrade. Basically any 120 rad will fit in most all cases even alot of itx cases.
That would entirely depend on which case, but most do have support for common sizes 120mm 140mm fans…….240+ rads are another issue.
Agreed, odds would be vast improvement.
I’ll agree with point 2 but not a chance on 1+3. There is a reason players don’t like rng. Most do not want things for free, they simply want to be able to obtain things via doing something other than relying on luck.
Build your own definitely. For $1200 you can have a top notch system that’ll blow the doors off gw2 and any other game for that matter.
I don’t think I can link exterior websites given the terms of this forum, but u can do a web search for 2 things that will help getting the most for your money. Search pc picker …..and computer deals (hint slick..4th one down or something)
Anywho that said
Either look into an ivy i5-3570k or a haswell 4670k
Either a z77 or a z87 mobo
120g+ ssd
500g+ 7200rpm hdd sata 3 (6gb/sec)
500w+ psu (brands actually matter here) no need to go overboard here either
After market cpu cooler (20 dollar ones are fine)
GPU 7850 or 660 or better
Case…get one you like the asthetics off as you’ll be looking at it a lot
The person you originally quoted said 20%.
Ahh good call didnt see that…..hmm I must have been going off their math 6g-24g
Imo its a conditioning tool. The more used to it we get the more okay we become with other ig gambling…ie…..rng junk.
Since the beginning.
Just on minis? I was under the impression that there was a 20% chance for the forge to upgrade.
I’m still clueless here.
I always thought mini’s were forgeable. So if people ended up with a Jack, then so what? They’re lucky. And they put it on the outpost.
I’m missing something, obviously?
See Osi’s post above
The new mini which is EXTREMELY common (1000+ listed atm, i’m sure 1000’s were put in the mystic forge earlier) was able to be thrown into the Mystic Forge and you could get exotics (20% chance back), so while the pets were 1.5g each, (6g per try), meaning 24g per exotic mini which were all 70-200g at the time.
Since when does the forge have an upgrade chance of 25%?
Well I thought it may have be an attempt by Anet to give those not able to buy gems by boatload early on to have a chance at mini collector, but should have known better. No chance in heck they be that nice.
Hmm seems like a good time to go for mini collector
Furthermore, why do you presume it’s up to you to decide whether that CEO needs the bonus or not… Who gave you that right?
Basically b/c it obvious? Need=/=Deserve. Common sense and half a wit gave the ability and the laws of nature gave me the right
… there’s no reason to be re-exploring the open world on an alt since it’s no fun and zones are all dead.
This is where your entire post breaks down. The assumptions that every zone is dead and that no one could conceivably enjoy single player / small-scale multi player are wrong.
Kinda drunk atm, not gonna read rest of thread but will reply to this……
The very same thing can be said for your reply.
The assumptions that every zone is not dead and that everyone can conceivably enjoy single player/ small scale multi player are wrong.
I’m not necessarily saying you are wrong, but you argument seems to be.
Yep SE 1&3….15 chars
Why? How is it that the developers are more focused on removing fun scenic areas and things like a popular stump in Southsun than fixing all of the crap bugs that actually plague character classes? Why was it even necessary to “fix” something like this? I actually had a few good memories chatting with people on top of that high rock near the clouds, but we can’t have nice things like that, can we?
That’s one of my major gripes. They change things (ie spend time working on) that are basically irrelevant (that spelling has got to be wrong) to the player base, while ignoring things that are exceedingly important to the player base. Ofc everything is subject and open to debate, but come on let’s be honest…..hard to do for some.
Everyone loves to hate on CEOs for some reason..
I would reason to say that’s b/c once a company gets to the level where a CEO is needed that company becomes more based around profits and efficiency than anything else. That includes not benefiting employees if it comes in any conflict with maximizing profits. While an employees might not receive a bonus on which they rely in slow times (or even laid off), you can bet your bottom dollar the CEO will get a large one, that tbh they don’t really need. Ofc there are exceptions, but for the most part…business as usual.
Nearly every company out there, public or private operates on the notion of self-sustainability. No company out there is going to put itself in a position that would threaten it’s existence – even non-profits.
That’s the job of the CEO. That may mean having to make necessary cutbacks and uncomfortable decisions, but he has to make the call. Money is priority.
Just because a CEO doesn’t need a bonus doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be rewarded with it. More than likely that bonus was negotiated into the contract upon employment. After all, if you are in high-demand for your skills and expertise, wouldn’t it make sense to ask the most out of a company? I’m sure everyone would want a CEO to be awarded stock options instead of bonuses, but if you are talented enough, you will get what you want.
Anyways, I’m rambling off-topic.
TP traders are legit.
If you look at the core of what jobs are….of what businesses are….they are ways of producing a means to obtain things one cannot or do not want to achieve themselves due to many number of reasons. They exist to provide for people not the other way around. Once a job or a business puts itself above providing for those that enable it….it becomes at the fundamental level, flawed.
Yes, I have a moral objection to CEO’s getting massive bonuses while multitudes of lower level employees are being laid off due to economic lulls. Even if I were as short sighted, I still wouldn’t give myself desert while my kids go hungry. I simply couldn’t handle knowing I took more (when I didn’t need) when others were denied due to lack of what I took.
Awww, I thought this might be a thread for my fellow retirees. Anywho, yep part of this one as well.

Are are those are above 1g each and range up to 5g 44s and change.
You can check real time costs to make weapons here:
http://calculator.bravevesperia.com/Personally speaking I went with Infinite Light on my guardian instead of Bolt because it kinda looks better for a guardian IMO.
There are additional time sinks involved on legendaries, most of them are for this component: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gift_of_Mastery
Optionally you can put a buy order on a legendary for what they cost(more or less because of RNG on clovers) and it might get filled.
How long it will take for you to farm for them will depend on how you earn your gold. If you flip items and you’re lucky you can cash in really fast (like sentinel mats, f&f dyes).
But if you’re CoF farming you’ll just have to compute how many hours it will take for you to get 1kg+.
Eeeegod why? Why on a guardian? I can see on a mesmer, ranger, or a thief as one handed swords are decent on them, but guardian?
Thx for supporting RNG chests so we will be sure to get more in the future…………………………
Really now, the gold to gem is awful and this spike made it even more awful completely ruining any chance to have a 20% discount. It just makes no sense.
The 20% discount isn’t meant for people who convert gold to gems. It’s meant for players who want to spend real $.
Hopefully, if trend follows logic this should cause a decrease in gem price (gold>gems). If it indeed attracts more cash>gems players then they should have 180 left over gems from $10. Those extra gems have more potential to be converted to gold than the lack of extra gems prior to the sale…if that makes any sense.
However, I sorta doubt this will happen. Call it intuition, call it a hunch, call it a tin foil conspiracy, but we will see.
1 Go outside and dig around in a clover patch, find a four leaf clover.
2 Go to the grocery and buy some Lucky Charms
3 Find a horseshoe
4 Take said horseshoe and stick it up your kitten
5 Throw everything in the forge while eating Lucky Charms with the clover taped to your forehead
6 Offer your Lucky Charm/horseshoe infused kitten to the mystic toilet and pray to the toilet troll
7 Repeat 1-6
The friend I mentioned above does not camp Teqatl. He plays one character, and moves him all over the map, as well as into the Mists. On the nights when I saw the chest bug out on him, he ported into Sparkfly just before the event. How is that DR?
I’m not say it was. I was just throwing out info in case it was.
There was an issue a while back with event chests not appearing. After several long threads, I managed to get a reply from Robert (in a completely unrelated thread), where he told us that event DR might be the reason.
As it turned out many of the players experiencing the issue had alts camped/parked at certain events. So as the timer would near we’d switch to are characters at each event and complete it. Well DR would/will cause chests to not appear.
A very easy way to test to see if this is your issue is to take note of you event medal rewards. If you are only receiving a portion of the exp, karma, and coin that one should for a certain medal type…well then it’s a DR issue.
Hope that helps
I’m pretty sure you have in one way or another bought the other components for your legendary.
Why would the precursor be exempt from that?
That is where you’d be wrong. It took me 2700 hours ish to get my gift of fortune via directly farming each t6 mat.
Besides the precursor the other things that I do not have are charged lodestones( already have plenty of onyx molten destroyer glacial), but I can run coe to gain another 50 (100 cores), silver doubloons (tricky), and unident dyes (no issues).
*dislclaimer-this is off top of my head…might be missing something
In 3000 (just hit minutes ago) hours I have yet to obtain one. I have thrown very rare sword, great sword, rifle, staff, shield, hammer, long bow, and short bow I have obtained after initial equipment of my toons into the forge to no avail. I have also thrown countless dungeon exotics in as well.
I have had all my gifts ready to go for a while, yet a precursor eludes me. I have had plenty of means to purchase one for a long time but, I feel that it is not acceptable that I am required to purchase one off the tp. Heck with all the stuff I have thrown in the forge I could have easily paid for dusk or the lover long ago, although tbh I don’t care which one as I only want it for the login medal.
I do not want it easy to obtain one. I simply do not want to have to buy one off the tp. I don’t care if it takes another 3k hours as long as it is actually obtainable via game play.
To me there is something fundamentally wrong with requiring (situational) us to buy things off the tp………I’ll end my post with that sentiment.
Instead of fighting sharks, kill Barracudas, they have a higher rate of dropping scales and armored scales, easy collect to get 10 armored an hour.
But I wish the skelk farm wasn’t destroyed.
Oops, In B4 Nerf
Too late that was nerfed way back.
And if there is one single spot in the game where you can make significantly more than any other spot, for significantly less effort, it should be nerfed. That’s actually good game design, not bad game design.
CoF P1 says hello while every open world farm that provides less gets nerfed.
Yeah it’s getting pretty bad that all farming is being funneled > Cof P1 runs. Idk who’s in charge of balancing all this , but one thing is for sure….no one is overseeing that person.
Short answer…….play high level pvp
Long answer….Without a game engine that can produce random mechanics there simply wont be any content that cannot be learned, thus bypassing the challenge. Regardless of the initial level of difficulty any encounter that remains stagnant will become easy after enough repetition.
PS half the challenge in some of the older games we remember was in the form of unresponsive controls
Hey was just wondering ya’lls thoughts on ranger semi-(afk) farming. If anyone is unfamiliar with it, rangers use their pets to kill w/o hitting any buttons except [f] to collect loot every once in a while. It does not use any bots or macros. Players are required to tune in to collect loot….so is it an exploit?
edit had to put away from keyboard in () b/c it turned it into kitten
There is a title…..golden…you bought your t6 I’m pretty sure so there you have it. It’s not like you farmed the t6 yourself. (ofc I could be wrong, but I doubt it)
Yes…but only for the extreme high end content. For the rest of the game no, not at all.
