[HaHa] Hazardous Hallucination
(edited by HazyDaisy.4107)
I had a treb that was supppsed to be firing on red keep, fired at me (blue) repeatidly from a green sm last night while I was capping a lowly sentry. That’s the level of green skill these days as well as a new way to kill someone that can’t dodge.
In that respect it really doesn’t matter what armor stats they or I are running, but it does matter how many points the trebber had invested in treb mastery.
Insta switchable stats ie legendary armor (including trinkets) would be nice for wvw, they’d be nice to earn anywhere, but one should have to work a little for the priveledge.

What’s the point of even having a test to among other things look for fixes to pop imbalance if players are just going to stack servers and manipulate collected data because they are allowed to. A lockout on transfers or waiting period for play, would be the right call regardless of whether or not this is a live test, if it in any way is testing population, the populations shouldn’t be manipulated in furthet by players or guilds server jumping during testing.
When they introduced DBL, they took wvw offline for 2 or 3 days before reset. I’d imagine if we are getting a population change, especially a big one, we’ll see wvw itself go offline Tuesday and resume on Friday. As far as lockout of transfers in the down time, I believe that would be a good idea, since speculartory information which could very well be factual information tends to slip out. It would also be nice of any player that does or has transferred between now and pre patch lockout gets hit with a 2 week waiting period before entering wvw post pop change.
I said yes and here’s why.
When I first started out in WvW I was immediately at a disadvantage because not only was I new, but my gear was under par compared to most players, with the addition of not having the guard stack advantage.
Its very disheartening getting face rolled all the time and some either wait till they have the gear to enter WvW or just go ahead and end up getting frustrated and quit.
I say we need those players now. Almost every toon I have is in full ascended gear minus a few trinkets. If anyone should complain its me because I just got on par with the vets, but looking at the wvw landscape it is clear to see that it is in trouble. For the love of the sport WvW needs to become more player friendly to the new or returning players, and we don’t need them drawn away to Pve in order to get geared.
I love WvW and I believe this is the way to go to breath life back into it.
Also I started with GW1 and it was never about the gear…it was how you played your build aka buildwars.
Everybody that started wvw 6 months to a year after its inception had the exact same disadvantages as any new player entering now, including no guard stacks or other wvw rank bonuses, and because it took forever to get them in some cases some of the late enterers may have took years to get on par with the vets.
I’m not arguing with anyone who’s currently at a disadvantage, I’m saying that everyone is or has been at a disadvantage at one point. Those that stuck with it, earned buffs to help more, only to lose our guard stacks in order to level the playing field.
Now, it’s gear that should be equal? Why give a majority of new people (that are most likely just going to zerg it up) another advantage over those stuck it out, learned what gear/food/traits to run again and again week after week by experimenting and spending loads of money or time to get all their gear and then some?
We do need new players, but further punishing older players is not the answer.
Remember, individual ideas about what constitutes a zerg changes from person to person server to server tier to tier.
^^^Only an hour?
Nah, only a team of angry wvw scouts will devote weeks to stalking and group slaughtering the jerk that mockingly whispered half their server after each gank.
The reasons a zerg chases roamers or roaming groups span far and wide and are specific to events or feelings known only by the squirrel or group of squirrels.
For instance, when I’m zerging it, I’ll engage in a chasing episode from time to time, but it usually has nothing to do with what that particular roamer has done. It’s usually bitterness held over from an earlier mob episode involving their zerg and me or a small group of us sometimes hours/days/weeks or perhaps years earlier. The roamer in question at the time of course has no knowledge of this earlier episode, and then labels the entire server abunch of 1 spamming zerglings. It’s a vicious cycle really.
The thing is though, if you don’t participate in every facet of the game (roaming, zerging, small havoc, outnumbered server vs overpopulated server etc etc etc.) And if you’re a roamer on the largest server and don’t appreciate the efforts put in by those on the smallest server or are not in the trenches everyday or dont break away from your group/individual playstyle to explore the different facets, you can’t really understand that the others are chasing you because they’ve most likely been chased by you and yours many times previously.
Run over the roamers, gank the backline, run from the zerg if you must and relish the hate whispers when it takes 20 of them to catch you, make fun of trolls on the the opposing server or your own server, run food, don’t run food, play however you want whenever you want! It’s all part of the game and none of us are or have been any better than our competition 100% of the time though out the entirety of this game mode.
There was someone on my server earlier that called everyone on tag sheep. There were maybe 10 of us and we’d been outnumbered for 3 hours, we’re were ticking about 90, but we were still fighting. Yesterday, the same person insulted us in some way after we lost a few camps to the 3rd server and said they were going back to eotm. In that case it sounded like a complaint the group wasn’t there to defend? We had also been outnumbered for most of the day yesterday too, but the tick wasn’t as bad then.
In short, not sure what’s going on, probably nothing different than before, bad apples on every server, trying to get a rise out of people and how they chose to play.
I’m just confused, though, if you’re not supposed to roam and you’re not supposed to follow tag, what are you supposed to do
.
That Harpy Love will either A.) Hit my intended target(s) or B.) Make them fall madly in love, Wark is a LIAR!
It misfires half the time and goes flying over the persons head or just short of it, and if it does hit a person or crowd, half of them usually complain about the hearts and yell at the person that successfully threw it.
If another level equals another map, what do they say about SW? Nearly the whole of the JP runs underneath SW, but the population of this “second map” isn’t exactly bursting at the seams.
Seriously, both dry top and SW were released in LS updates, fairly close together. Granted we had to wait awhile to get them, but we did get them for free, and when you take into consideration the size of the initial map, there was plenty to do before their release. The size and content in the expansion does not warrant people waiting 1-1/2 – 2 years for new stuff that interests them.
Could new maps/content be released as LS’s/updates? Yes!
When?
How much is good enough for most of us?
What area updates will satisfy the most players?
Those are the questions.
:) It was a humbling experience. I even said it afterwards, I can’t believe I just died to krait!
Thanks for the feedback guys, I’ll keep in mind from now on not to pull the tails too hard, even if they deserve it. Also, glad that most feel this is a positive change on a larger scale. Just a bit of an adjustment for those accustomed to smaller scale I suppose.
Last night I was in the midst of solo conquering the hylek camp from the evil krait attacks.
Yes, I know, EWW pve! I jest, everyone has done this event at some point, it’s wvw content that has been there awhile and provides a nice little break from other players.
Anyway, at one point 5 of the little slithering fellows came up and group hugged me. I dodged back and hit heal about a sec too late and went down with 4 of them still there attacking me. I got 3 of them dead in my down state, but was never able to get myself back up as another group of krait came up and finished me off, for good leaving 4 bags scattered around my corpse.
Now, I’d read about not being able to rez off non player enemies or decreased chance, whatever it was I forget, but honestly, at the time I’d completely forgotten about it, amd when I did read it initially, I thought it meant non combative pve enemies.
One can still rez off camp guards and this, though pve is still technically a camp, being attacked, by enemies. In pve one can rez by killing the thing that’s trying to kill them, so why did I die here after killing 3 of them?
I understand this tactic of down rezzing had the potential to be exploited in pvp fights by the down player rezzing off a yellow creature such as a moa, but these were red krait and there were no other players there. It seems a bit harsh and it was quite embarrassing
.
Just curious, going forward, how have the down rez changes affected others playstyles? And was it really that big of a problem before?
Well if that’s true, then I could understand the frustration of not even either being configurable. But, I still believe anet has done everything they can to limit these instances, and any remaining instances are so minor that changing the way or time a glider deploys for everyone now, after 3 years of jumping and 6 months of gliding is a waste of anets time.
Take SAB, take your home instance, take any JP where gliding is disabled and compare jumping across certain things. 9/10 you’ll hold down the space bar to make a hail Mary jump, but it doesn’t really make a difference, because the same jump could be made with a simple tap and speed boost.
Which Jp(s) still allow gliding? Anet tried to alleviate complaints of gliding making some JPs easier by disabling it completely. But, in certain puzzles, it’s just doesn’t seem possible to disable because the puzzles run through, over or under maps that do allow gliding (ie LA and SW) and disabling gliding in those areas would probably mess with alot of other people not participating in the JP.
Not everyone has HOT and not everyone is bothered by jump and glide being tied to the same key while in the very few instances where it could be an issue. In fact, I’d assume most people have gotten quite used to hitting, tapping and even holding down spacebar when falling from the skies of VB, so why change that?
Perhaps tie Jump to another key if it’s an issue and switch it back once you’re done with the JP.
When we revert to ABL, I honestly see no problem with invaders not having an insta wp in hills or bay. Even defense could get by without them IF they had to. Many lower servers went weeks or months without them and navigated just fine. The size of ABL does not justify giving ANYONE further footing by giving them insta wps.
Enemy wps in the current BL however irritating are unfortunately a necessity because of the sheer size. But insta-wps, especially in keeps were a huge step backwards imo.
I was never a fan of auto upgrades at all, but specifically the wp availability to an invading server, regardless if I am on the invading server, its simply unfair. There’s no counter either, once defense backcaps, it’s just a waiting game for the enemy to return. It provides no incentive for defense to do anything like upgrade or call additional forces in to fight, it doesn’t provide incentive for invaders to defend. It only cuts the map in half for invading zergs and punishes those that used to defend by now gives the enemy a wall to hide behind and no reason to come down and fight in the open.
To that respect, you must look at the auto upgrade process itself. Fortify and WPS should be the last upgrade available to anyone, it should be available to both enemy and defender in any keep in any BL and regardless of whether it’s qued automatically or if a human presses a button, someone should have to jump down off the walls to make sure the dolyaks make it to the keeps ok. There is no incentive to do any of this now, and if this system is transferred to ABL, there won’t be any incentive to do it there either.
Someone else (non anet) took a turn at patch notes. They added a line about updrafts being suited to body weight now and suggested asura avoid them. I giggled as I pictured asura flying out to space, but still thought it would be an interesting element to add.
Yes, most chat is toxic for these events now. Most of the people the people on low pop, low tier maps are just there for their remaining achievements not necessarily tied to the meta (HPs etc). Those that do try the meta don’t have enough people to successfully do all the stages of the meta and as a result of it failing often blame whoever they can in map chat.
I’m sure it will get better soon, until then though, next time you show up to a map 30 minites prior to meta, open LFG and start looking for “Tier 4 insert map here” or “Organized insert map here.” Don’t ask questions at first, just follow the tag and do what everyone else does, of you’re doing something wrong, most people will tell you without being rude.
It you look at your glider preview screen and hover over the locked gliders it will say 1 of 2 things. Either “available during specific times” or something else, I forget. New gliders you havent seen that are locked and state available during specific times, usually mean it’s an upcoming gem store purchase or a previously released one you missed. Bubble glider was in the preview panel for almost a week before it was sold in the store.
I have all the gliders unlocked currently so it’s easy to spot new ones, but for those that dont, just look at the preview every week. So far, they’ve released new ones every week or two.
If the item doesn’t say available during specific times, it’s most likely a glider you receive for during a specific event or action, like the black, white and bat backpiece wings you had to talk to the guy in VB at release to convert (Im unsure if they later sold those as seperate glider skins), or the wool glider you have to run the skritt king event to unlock. Either way, if it doesn’t suggest it’s a sold item, you have to research how to get it.
All signs point to the sab glider being a sold item and not one you’ll have to grind the festival to receive though. So, since daily March sales are over, we’re back to every week sales, which happen on Tuesday.
I just want to be able to find the champ spider and high five BL Seige Razor again, that guy has been part time for 6 months and is extremely bored and underutilized.
I haven’t left the game, just returned to being a pve scrub.
Starting 2-1/2 years ago, when I first wandered in, I spent all my time in wvw. I never tired of the map, just the opponents (stale, lopsided matches).
DBL is geared towards large scale, which is fine, if you’re into that sort of thing and you have enough pepole to support it. Personally, I could’ve gotten used to the size, but what I could never get used to is the lack of love for the solo artist. Very few things are doable on this BL alone, which was the appeal for me on Alpine. Sure, you’d get ganked if you weren’t sneaky enough, but you could see it coming in Alpine, you knew roughly how long you had or in most cases what size force was around the corner. With DBL, if you’re able to successful build a cata by yourself on the side wall of a tower before it gets destroyed by something in or around the tower by the time you come back with the remaining supply from the camp that’s miles away, there could now be 25 people inside a tower, either home defense that ran in through the gate you can’t see or the other server attacking on the opposite wall you can’t see.
I never tired of the simplicity of Alpine, the solo artists were gods there. DBL just punishes smaller servers and antisocial people, both from an attacker and defenders standpoint imo and promotes the notion that unless you run as a group, nothing gets accomplished.
So yes, bringing back ABL alone will get me back, whether or not I stay, depends on what has changed in regards to enviroment and gameplay mechanics.
It would make a perfect map for expansion 2 – Crystal desert. They could expand the Fire/lava area of new Bay down the middle of the whole map, so players have to wade through it to get to the other side of the map, probably dying halfway through, but keeping in theme with both what happened while the map was used in wvw and the scorched streak down the center of CD.
Joking aside, it is a very pretty map and they did a wonderful job, but it would be better served in elsewhere.
However, most real wvw’ers are dead set against the KTrains and quote unquote gimmicks that come with eotm.
I like how people keep using “ninja” in regards to taking empty objectives in ABL, the other translation is K-Train. Does it have value to take them, sometimes if a server is going for PPT and sometimes for attacking another objective. But also it was quite often used by people avoiding fights to get karma and loot. Still remember whole guilds going to empty maps to take it over. Did they break up and take it in one swoop, no, they zerged each one down one by one and then moved to the next empty BL. Call a spade a spade at least.
I call it ninja when I’m solo or with a small group. Such as when my 5 man group caught the 2 opposing servers fighting over 1 of their fully upgraded hills. They both had big kitten blobs, the attacking server had busted through outer but the inner was full of so much siege they couldn’t make much head way and were stuck trying to build cata’s on the outer wall.
My group stealthed past the zergs, ran around to north inner, rammed it open, and snuck in while they zergs were fighting. We stealthed into lords room and managed to get the lord down to about 10% before anyone noticed, but at that point so much of their zerg was distracted or dead that they could only about 10 of them made it in to stop us and we easily wiped the floor with them and stole the keep.
That was kittening ninja.Or sometimes it’s as simple as when I have spent the past few hours by myself harassing a bl, tapping the wp’s over and over, flipping camps, etc. and then I sneak through a sneaky cata spot, leave the keep, resume tapping things on the other side of the map to draw their attention, come back to get inner down, and solo the lord.
Either way, it’s never a k-train. And most the time if I did take a keep I would start upgrading it because at that point the fights are coming to me and I have the terrain advantage.
I would describe “Ninja” as a small group taking a large structure in record time with or without opposition, but mostly very stealthlike, and “ktrain” as a blob rolling into said structures obliterating the 2 people defending and dancing on their corpses afterwards. PPT be kitten ed, Ktrains are mainly for spite and humiliatuon, whereas ninjas are mainly skill groups that do it for fun. There is a distinct difference with the two terms.

It’s interesting XTD that you point out removing upgrades that guilds have invested time and money in would sour people. That’s exactly what happened with the introduction of guild hall/wvw claiming. The guilds that invested time and money in claiming upgrades were left without those purchased upgrades after the release. Yes, if you’ve invested you shouldn’t have your stuff taken away, but it happened once. Perhaps a compromise where upgrades earned with DBL are kept, but stiff like +5 isn’t as hard to reearn for smaller guilds that had it before.
unless you are going to add it to the base WvW scoring system.
This could’ve actually been the thought process of how to even out pop imbalance that exists in the real wvw currently. However, most real wvw’ers are dead set against the KTrains and quote unquote gimmicks that come with eotm.
It’s ok that the eotm’ers like their stuff and don’t want it to change, but understand alot of wvw’ers liked their stuff too and it changed anyway, slowly at first and then unrecognizable fast! Changes that weren’t even asked for by the majority and changes that kind of point to the theory, that since eotm is so crowded and wvw isnt, that players must prefer eotm type play or that eotm is not a testing ground for wvw, but vice versa. I’d like to think most true wvw players don’t like eotm and that eotmers don’t like wvw, which is why they didn’t go there before. But, introduce a new map, and take a recent example, a rumor 1 server recently got infused with eotm guilds, when before under the Alpine BL they didn’t. Why do you suppose that is? Because the current BL IS an EOTM map!
Personally, I’m ok with them testing changes in both of the formats seperately and listening to feedback from those in the communities. But, despite what Anet may think, these are 2 separate beasts with 2 very different mindsets of what does or should occur within the realms amd as such, should remain different, with neither being testing grounds for the other.
There are cow patties in the field outside of Bandit cave in Queensdale that you can pick up and throw at, amongst other things…cows
. That, would make an interesting travel item
I wouldn’t jump and shout yes, till you see how the updates have changed it.
Alpine was better for scouts/small guilds and small servers. But, mostly scouts and smaller groups. With DBL, we not only got bigger, higher, PVE maps, we also got automatic upgrades, basically ending most of a GOOD scouts duties and desire to hang out in the BL.
They said, yes, we’ll bring it back, WITH UPDATES. Now, I suspect they aren’t going to scrap auto upgrade, which might please some because, not everyone had good scouts capable of ordering the right upgrades, but including auto upgrades will still leave others out in the cold and possibly away from the BLs still. There’s also no guarantee what additional upgrades from DBL will be included in the re-release of Alpine, which means what we get back may not be even close to what we left in October.
Either way, it’s still a waiting game just to see when it comes amd how it’s received.
I’m sorry, Orpheal, I started laughing starting at the bold part of your post. The same argument you have about dungeons is the same argument wvw people have regarding EOTM. you’re absolutely right though, too many shortcuts were taken in designing and reengineering parts of this game to re-enthuse older modes. The problem is, once said shortcuts were discovered, and that the rewards were better, the actual intended play modes/environments suffered drastically.

Me and my fiance did 2 paths of COF, 2 paths of COE, the 3rd path of TA and several 1-10 fractals with just the 2 of us. We have both soled L1 fractal too. Obviously, some of the fractals require more than 2 people, not necessarily because of the difficulty, but because of progression issues like the pressure plate mechanism in L8, the same philosphy applies to certain paths of some dungeons.
Regular dungeons, without group progression issues as mentioned above though, soloing should be possible, if you’re on a strong character, but I don’t think the system currently allows solo for any of them. But, you can bring a buddy along enter together and have him leave to see if that works.
I can’t beat 2:50 on SS and can’t think of a way to make up 21 secs. I say 21 because a friend got 1:40 exactly on The Walking Mushrooms the other day, yet only received bronze when it clearly says on screen 1:40 is silver. The wiki however says less than 1:40, so, something to think about with probably all timed events. Sometimes that one sec is the difference between dancing and throwing a keyboard.
I was in there 2 nights ago and the 1 skill was available. Did it get broken again?
SAB was originally introduced April Fools 2013. People want it back. I FEEL it in my carpal tunnel ridden fingers, this will be the year. Come on ANET!
The frogs are mean, but they talk to you briefly before ganging up on you, they are very direct about their intentions too, so that’s cool. Pocket raptors on the other hand, they say nothing first before trying to overpower you with their little teeth and claws, but, entangle + torch 5 or static field + meteor shower makes them expel the cutest screams as they burn to a crisp, which is fun to watch.
Remember, its the little victories
Doing the midnight to dawn runs of Marionette cured most of us of complaining for receiving too much help during a meta event. Doing Marionette before midnight or attempting TT anytime now, cured most of us of suggesting first chosen lane lockage.
Fact is, this is now a karma train event, similar to Jormag and Shatterer. You can either advertise and accept the extra help (which is needed 9/10 times) for a chance at success for everyone or continue to complain that the maps are always dead and the event is never successful.
Aliens briefly abducted the majority of the zerg. It’s rare, but it happens.
Rangers have one of the highest weapon choices out there already.
Typically, the LB is for power and SB is for condi ranger. So there is a distinction between the 2 weapons in the rangers case.
As for profession usage of the SB, there are not enough choices, the ranger and thief, I believe that’s it. Whereas the LB can be used by Warrior, Ranger and now Guardian. So rather than combining the LB and SB into 1 weapon, perhaps give us more professions that can use the SB.
Only a WvW player hears the announcements of (no new legendaries for the foreseeable future, but, here’s Friday reset back, btw, we’re pulling resources to rework the new PVE maps) and ponders “so, no other updates for wvw for the next 2 years or so eh?”
I’m curious why you say you can’t get both? Do you have the other high mastery point requirement ones like Ley Line? Is it a problem with gathering the remaining 12 or whatever amount of mastery points needed for the one you don’t choose? It seems daunting, but it is possible to get them all.
Anyway, as far as choices between those two, neither seems to make a WORLD of difference in my experience. I have both, yet I still die to goop on occassion regardless of dodging, the adrenal mushrooms are nice when running solo through a mob, but wont really help tremedulsy if you stop to fight said mob alone. I think I went for chak goop first, but like Donari said, adrenal mushrooms are useful in all maps. Where as chak is really only useful in TD and 1 or 2 areas of DS. So, it really depends on where you spend a majority of your time now. If you map hop alot with different toons, go adrenal, if you’re in TD alot working on the meta, go chak.

Go to your hero panel, make sure the main screen is on equipment, look to the left tabs, the very bottom one is masteries. Click masteries – click Maguma masteries – click gliding. I believe you get 1 mastery point (green for Maguma) for doing the first chapter of the Maguma story.
If basic gliding is not trained, hit the check mark next to it to train. If the yellow bar for basic gliding is full, apply your green mastery point in the empty circle on the right of basic gliding.
From there you need to train in something else and gather mastery points to spend once the mastery is trained.
Maguma is green, Tyria is red. Throughout your hero panel in achievements you’ll see activities you can do to receive one of these two points to use in the trained masteries. When in the new Maguma maps experience counts for green masteries, anywhere else experience counts towards red masteries.
Use the axe dropped by the crab to kill the tree that’s somehow walking around unrooted. You’d be suprised what that tree can hide in his branches.
If you don’t have access to the krait obelisk in your home instance, the other easy commune point is the one in Durmand Priory HQ in Lornars Pass. Close to the WP, no enemies near, park an alt there with all your crstals in his inventory and commune everyday. Unfortunately Charge quartz is on of the many daily gated items, always has been and it’s a pain, but they are stockade after you’ve completed whatever asc piece you complete, you just have to remember to be in a position to stock up for next time.
+infinity Dawdler. As disheartening as it was to see enemy wps in home bl, you definately heard 1 voice of the home server screaming NOT IN MY HOUSE! These fights now, have nothing on enemy wp fights of yesterday. Plus, as a capper, even if you couldn’t stick long enough to que a wp, draining supply with 1 or 2 upgrades was satisfaction enough.
Play a toon that doesn’t require stealth to rek someone and then you won’t have to worry about your mini.
Back in the day, there was a bug with group stealth where ranger pets didn’t receive stealth. That was a quality of life bug, because pets actually fight and can be attacked, minis do not and shouldn’t be stealthed.
Start a new guild, because while you can’t kick or demote him, he can kick you! Not saying that would happen, but it could and it’d be a shame to put that much work in just to be kicked when it’s done.
Nothing spectacular and didn’t take a picture, but humorous.
Last week I was on mid wurm in TT, running the phototoxtin circle, jumped off from Yellow headed to blue, glided behind wurm at the moment he did his spin manuever. I think I got hit by his neck, but that didn’t kill me. The subsequent fall to the ground did though. I guess the wurms don’t like gliders, too close to birds maybe?
I agree, the new symbols and color choice is weird and hard to spot at first glance whether or not you’ve earned it, especially on the bigger maps. Plus, design wise it does seem backwards from the rest, I thought I was the only one that felt this way.
Yes, tags were 100g at one time, when you had to buy them per character. 300g is an account investment that provides a tag you can use on any character anywhere in game. The tradeoff price was more than fair.
If you PVE and can’t afford a actual tag, you now have mentor option. If you wvw and work with more than 1 toon, it’s no longer a problem switching and tagging up again. If you have complaints about the current price, you should’ve been here to see how expensive it could get before the account change. Anet fixed it and 300g is fair!
There was a tag at SB last night running it like the patriarch, as if 99% of the map hadn’t done SB before. It was amusing, GET IN SQUAD, IS THE MAP FULL? Sorry, I digress, I think everyone is in Queensdale.

I’m going to echo the voices of wvw crowd. “Can we get wvw specific rewards, can we get better rewards and gear for this mode without having to farm PVE/Dungeons etc?” 3-1/2 years later, people are still asking. The closest we got to something wvw specific was mistforged weapons, yet the average Joe need only log into wvw weekly (not fight mind you, just log in) to get tokens for stuff “specific” to this mode. While the weekly reward depended entirely on how well your server did each week, I can’t tell you how many people simply idled at spawn rather than fight, just to get credit for the weekly rewards. Through it all, it was still good enough, but low and behold we haven’t had seasons in 2 years.
While I don’t agree that certain rewards should be locked behind certain content, I do agree that if it’s the makers deem it this way, one should atleast participate or try to in said content to get rewards/gear etc, which is what the wvwers did. Honestly though, they can’t please everyone, others have have taken a backseat to PVE for years, it stands to reason that PVEers must take a backseat to something eventually and players should broaden their horizons.
The only adventure I HAD to get gold in for the point was tendrils torchers, and that’s only because I couldn’t get silver in shooting gallery. That was for leyline gliding btw, which was the last thing I maxed. The point is all Mag mastery is maxed and there are still points available.
Towers, Keeps and Castles are all walled stuctures. However, keeps will be the biggest structures on a map short of a castle (ie stonemist in eternal battlegrounds, which as far as I know is the only castle in wvw or EOTM).
There are 3 keeps in each borderland map, 3 keeps in eternal BG, and 3 keeps and in EOTM.
So if you’re looking for keep capture, just head to the largest enemy structure and bring some friends, seige and supply, you’ll need them. Keeps are not easy to cap if highly defended (which is usually the case), plus they take some time to even be penetrated depending on your group size, knowledge and enemy resistance present.
