I always see the fire and move out. The burning animation alone when you catch on fire is a huge indicator that you need to do something. Most times I just run through it anyways and tag my teamates if we cross a field just for soemthing to do … the stacks never seem to bother us too much.

A mortar field is still a mortar field. I mean the animation has been flawed in the game for a long time, but still noticeable. But the animation on your character is pronounced.

Could it possibly be linked to the mortar ranking (I think its r4) versus people who are unranked being the dmg change?

Watchtowers is just a silly mechanic. It even looks ridiculous on the map. Like they making the game mode for 1 person to twiddle thumbs on map mode.

I wish there was a Shatter enchantment with a reasonable CD

Null field removes all boons, but boons are reapplied WAY faster than the CD on Null Field.

Things like Shatter should AoE punish heavy boon usage. I’d even go as far to say the skill should do dmg per boon, but then we’d have another issue. Skill would be super fun.

Finding that balance ain’t easy.

The necro line has a closer equivalent with spinal shivers on another long 20 second CD – but the others either require you to stand next to your foe, or don’t spike dmg on them, rather convert boons.

The reapplication and sheer volume of boons is very strong in team play with little counters on long CD.

Just curious because I am starting to see other companies posting about there presence, and I am really only hoping to see Anet & some youtubers there. PAX reveals the schedule 7-12 days prior to the event, but that’s far too late.

Looking at the past, it’s been consistent that there has been a presence on Saturdays, and sometimes a side event (whether meet and greet, or gaming event).

Hoping you guys keep up the consistency. And if you do, bring some swag and stuff to buy, cause we’ll eat it all up.

Will never happen because you would kitten off 20 hours of players who play outside of that period.

Tournaments altogether do not need to come in, what needs to happen is improving the gameplay of WvW. The suggestions thread is really the only thread worth reading, and maybe the crashes thread to see if you experience something that another has, and are provided a solution.

- scoring
- scoring in relation to populations/ timezones
- build templates
- improved squad ui (broken by colours/role (scout, havok, roamer, zerg) & maintaining ability to see team over anything else). This would help coordination within squads and answer why no one is dropping supply – squad says i got 80 more – little does commander know its 8 people on other side of map

People need to be more self aware of there surroundings. While mokittenamage is high, as soon as I ever get hit i just dodge back and move out … the dmg is neglible then, doesn’t take more than 15% of my health bar. I have a feeling alot of players all crowd around and stand it in and spread it, and and continue to stand in it.

And blaming the thin red circle (being unnoticeable) is neglible, Unlike cannon fire, mortars light the whole bloody field on fire, and if you can’t see the fact you are standing in fire, and think ‘maybe I should move’ … then it’s time you dirt nap and rethink your strategy.

I thought Anet mentioned the CD adjustment (and another adjestment forgot which server) was only temporary and will not count at the re-linking. They will be based on the glicko rating without the adjustment.

I know this is old, but that combination with vigourous shouts basically provides AoE condi clears and small AoE heals on shouts. Typical setup would be something like “For Great Justice” “Shake it Off” and a skill of your choice… in PvE I sometimes use “Fear Me” (primarily to keep enemies off me while farming and not enter combat speed), or The skill that stacks 10 stacks of vuln… On My Mark I think it might be? Really the last slot you can use anything.

Again this is an older build, but it’s good to understand how the things work together and get a feel for it.

Wouldn’t this effectively be sword #2? + burning … seems weak compared to the rest of the primal bursts.

I kinda like warlord’s suggestion, I’d imagine a sword primal burst should do some form of frontal cone dmg/burning… whether it’s fireballs, and firey wave slash… something. I tried this skill last night in melee range multiple times and it just doesn’t seem to land or do much at all. Will keep playing around with it.

I was just theorycrafting yesterday and went through the list of runes and I was like ‘wtf, why are so many of these just terrible?’ At the end of the exercise I came to about 5-6 that I could call useful to my character designs. It was of course personal preference, but some have so much potential … like in a burn build I could see taking the rune of balthazaar – ‘a god’ … except the 4th bonus is just ridiculous, kinda insulting to a god. I feel more godlike with Rune of the Aristocracy. I won’t even mention the dungeon runes.

Yeah this is my opinion too, not fact … was just surprised how much useless garbage is in the game atm. I like build diversity and options, but there always seems to be about a handful of runes and sigils that will sell for 3-6g per while there rest go for 2 silver because they just are sub par, limiting the options of good/great choices.

How do you get these codes… I was getting random crashes last night, but only got the GW2 game client stopped working, and the game would close. This has only started happening since last update. Previously no one in my house crashes.

After wasting much proofs on durability runes, I don’t want to have them nerfed …. it’s like as soon as players get runes going. People kitten and moan until anet does something, thus wasting time and effort put in … not everyone has 4k gold and 4k AB meta badge from farming.

I would rather see Anet work on updating some of the older runes which are completely garbage to make some more viable options for the player base. There’s like 5-6 rune sets I like personally, I’m sure most have about the same they use… out of what 70 or so?

I actually always wanted the 4 maps to big combined into one huge map … if Anet was or is able to do the following first:

- increase the map player limit accordingly (4 maps into 1 should yield the same results, sure you can scale it at a certain point to try to help uneven server matches)
- eliminate skill lag on large scale battles altogether

If both of those things could be met, I would absolutely love a huge map where really … objectives couldn’t stand without enough defence, and relying on commanders to bring the legion over to assist is little more than a pipe dream. It should theoretically make more room for say 10 man units to run together, or even for a 10 man unit to say hold and defend a keep, not straying to far away (only controlling immediate objectives surrounding your base)

All that aside, I could only read you posting to 4.1 – and I don’t agree with 4.1 – while some people do enjoy scouting and defending, not everyone wants to spend there time doing that, and having on call supply buff to replenish keep supply I would say is SoL – we alreaady have speedy yaks to help with this, and through a battle of attrition, if you starve an enemy out of supply … the objective should be an easier take.

I’m also not a fan of the jump puzzle idea for sneaking into a keep, unless it gives the keep owners some benefit to build it. It should not be a default design, but an add-on …. I have never seen a castle built with the purpose of making it easier for enemies to get in. So while I kinda like the idea of knocking players with a knockback down to there death, I want to know why should a guild or team build such a device, and to what benefit?

I would assume if the map was large enough …. to avoid the 20 minute running (or the massive collection of players that would be floating around your home base) …. there would be some updated waypoint system to get closer to the action faster. Doesn’t have to be right out the door or the tower next, but something closer.

Scouts already get participation when in squads, plus loot bags from the enemies they kill around their objectives. I don’t think they need to increase the loot, just ensure it’s level with the squad.

What would be interesting data to analyze would be … the # of players in queue where they come from.

Let’s say that a map holds a limit of 100, until the server reallocates or adjust that number … and the 3 servers have 100 per (let’s even say this is reset and every BL is queued)

Just how many of those in queue are from players outside of the WvW maps versus players who are sitting within another map queueing for another map.

It would be interesting to see how many players are busy queueing between maps, like BL’s and the infamous EBG. Versus the players who are trying to queue into WvW.

The max capacity per map has been adjusted a few times over the years. It waas high, then when the lag issues got real bad, it was reduced I believe to 66 per server per map, until some work was done, and then slightly raised again.

Either way I’m sure there are many interesting data sets to analyze or take into consideration when making decisions. I like data.

Squad should be one colour (blue example), while immediate party should be another colour (purple? maybe), and teh people outside of squad/team another colour (light green or something). So it’s easier to play within your ranges. Many people already have requested this.

The only thing causing any issues is the odd imbalance where one servr rolls the others, thus making the 2 getting rolled basically kitten off to go elsewhere – demoralized. None of you are worthy of 300 (but I was there long ago, a poor NA sap fighting an insurmountable OCX crew) I know how it feels, and its ike a slow death you just don’t want to partake in.

Anet does use WvW population, they changed from overall server pop quite a while back. But there calcs are not entirely accurate.

Just chiming in to say – happy to see a new matchup this week. DB came out fighting last night and it was a lot of fun, JQ even came out fighting lot less people overall but they came, they fighting , lot of good fights last night. Hoping it holds out all week in kitten … well … that doesn’t look like it will be fun at all Looks like a replica of t4 atm. T3 looks like you guys might be having some decent battles, but I couldn’t say either way.

Thanks DB for coming out strong, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it so far.

So in effect isn’t that just 525 dmg from meteor impact vs … a default fire on AC 756.48 (4728 x8 / 50)?

At a quarterly release rate providing a LS episode … wouldn’t that mean a single season (roughly 8 episodes) take 2 years? Won’t that timeline mess up with expansion releases? Or does that mean expacs may come out every 3 years or so?

Yep, I like variety in the matchups (would love a server that has a strong late NA fight groups to move up to t1, makes matches more enjoyable than playing against ppt hard ons), was only pointing out that combat skills are usually defined by the players who are alive and actively killing more then they die. This week has been boring overall at least between 10pm-2am PST. Almost clockwork opposite from the first few days when DB moved up. If this is to be the norm… then at least I have time to get those rings infused.

Well according to that, DB has superior tactics and combat skills than the other two and are winning for being good.

Perhaps we should celebrate their awesomeness in grandeur style?

Be harpy you have scores that are that close….I am very jealous some have an actual position to compete for (2nd place). Alot of people are stuck in 1st, 2nd , 3rd places each week….every week…with insanely large score differentials between each position that makes anything you try to organize or do meaningless.

DB KD ratio is still the worse of t1 … by a long shot. In fact they are in the hole by 7.5K to break par on 1.0 scale. I would say it’s more about SEA cleaning house over the other two servers than anything else. BG is on an obvious break as they have the least kills overall but they still have a positive KD ratio.

I would even bet if you could see the scoring throughout the week you would see DB/IOJ maxing ppt over SEA with little challenge.

Congrats is a congrats, but I wouldn’t attribute it to superior tactics & combat skills.

This age old problem of dps warriors still being tanky has nothing do with durability runes really. It’s the healing signet in combination with passive traits. It’s always been that.

I’m sure it all works itself out … DB is strong enough to unlink … and I would assume getting up their to full. If not yet, as soon as the remaining transfers hop aboard.

The only thing I don’t enjoy about the match up is the amount of running DB non SEA does. I don’t play SEA but I do play late NA/early OCX and it’s like a freakin marathon trying to find something to fight. We finally started getting something in SMC last night but it’s arrowcart city… regardless a fights a fight and if that’s what it takes to come out and play, so be it – I guess. Still some good forrays in their.

Pretty sure many players are presently spending time on some of the LS3, not just TC. TC busy trying to have fun with the new emotes

Man, that means to make 7500, assuming I do 2 dailies (is that possible – like 1-10 + 11-20) 2 pristine relics (30) plus say 2 runs (6+8 let’s say) – 44/day
7500/44 means 170 days to get all rings infused – and runs take what 20 minutes? So 1 hour /day for 170 days… or grind it out faster and do roughly 200-225 hours of straight fractals . If I play 4 hours a day … 28 hours a week (10 of which I’d have to spend in WvW to remain in my guild) gives me 18 hours a week for fractals which would take 9.44 weeks roughly for me to do this. Or little over 2 months. That’s rough.

What are the 750 fractals even for? I was looking at the attuned and infused recipes and I don’t see anything purchasable (or missed it)

750 relics… my god … I can see myself 2 slotting (attuning) rings but not farming that amount of fractals ever. Way too much time versus the small value gained and I only have so much time I can apply to random things outside of WvW. Better spent on collections or raising my AP, or farming things that are needed (by me personally or guild)

is it 750 relics per ring to infuse them? So say you have 5 characters, that 750 × 2 × 5? Which is what … 7500 relics o.O – did they bump the amount you gain up to like 40-50 per run? or is this only really achievable to people above a certain fractal threshold and basically giving low rank new players a giant middle finger?

I expect refunded (either infusion or laurel value), but am not able to log in yet, but it would kitten me off otherwise as my account is presently time gated to laurels, and taking away anything forcing me to spend more is just lazy practice.

I really didn’t enjoy eso that much either. My old guild [STUN] went on to it, and we immediately felt like it was slow, not the leveling aspect, just the combat itself felt slow and fps more than anything. Eventually players moved to smite and other games where it felt more active.

Working with EU folk all year round, it’s a very typical request. Not only are EU players special, but it requires special attention to the demographic of how EU in itself is comprised of separate entities. That is, of course, not including anyone from Great Britain of course. They no longer count as EU. So maybe a special region just for them, no?

All jokes aside, if you actually watch or follow players from both regions as individuals you will see they play very similar. If you watch guild groups they play very similar … both have fight guilds … both have siege humpers … what are you saying is so different? The fact that EU has german servers, french or other? Sounds like a language barrier issue versus a region issue? Or is your BLTC taxed differently per server based on region because your messed up tax system?

The poll results are based on plaers globally who actually voted … that means those who didn’t (lazy f**ks) are lazy regardless of where they reside. If you believe Anet bases decisions solely on NA input, you need to go to the hospital and check your head.

Thank you for the clarification. So if I kill 1 guy and stomp him under Bloodlust, our server gets 3 points… but if a zerg runs over some roamer… the server only gets 2.

Back to what should we try:
- poll to categorise individuals preferred playstyle in WvW (categories: I like to solo roam, I like to havoc, I like to play in guild only runs, I like to run with the commander, I like to play defensively and scout, I enjoy siege warfare)

Only provide the ability to select one, as it’s asking for your preferred playstyle. This should give you an idea of your current playerbase and maybe you can run polls in future based on those given functions. It would be interesting as a player to see, especially if you could provide results total, and results broken down based on server.

While players may enjoy playing multiple styles, myself included … I think it would be good to understand based on a player’s preferred play style.

(quick question) Do we get 2 points per stomp atm? Just looking for clarification. Or does it matter if you stomp or not. I’m an oldie who was used to the cap bloodlust, and stomp – and still accustomed to playing that way … but not sure if they changed that since I returned. Do kills also count when a player is degenerated without a stomp?
