Have you tried clearing your GW2 cache? Instructions found in the Knowledge Base accessed via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Search – Troubleshoot Trading Post’.
Good luck.
My biggest issue is that we are almost a month from the actual expansion and we have yet to see any real excitement from the developers about the content they have created.
I want developers telling us about why they love what is coming – what excites them with POF. I want to see that the devs are actually excited and care about what they are working on – the way they did at launch and with HOT. Why should players and potential customers care about the xpac and what it brings if the developers cannot be bothered to show some real excitement themselves.
Every announcement we have seen so far feels sterilized and whitewashed before it is shown to us.
You could watch the Dev interviews posted on the Partner Participants YouTube channels. They seem pretty excited in those.
Good luck.
Here is what the Wiki states (at top of page):
Note that for the Hero achievements, a mastery point is only awarded the first time a player completes the personal story arc for that level. (Emphasis mine.)
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery_point_unlocks
In other words, an account can only acquire 8 Mastery Points through the (Core) Personal Story. One for each Level Arc, regardless of race. This has not been changed since inception, though the Hero Panel (and the Wiki) is confusing, as it lists all possible ways to acquire the 1 Mastery Point per Level Arc.
Good luck.

You will have to wait until Path of Fire releases. (Or purchase Heart of Thorns.)
Good luck.
Again, you will have to contact the CS Team for assistance.
You could, while you wait for assistance, try a -repair of the client, and/or the -prefreset command line argument, or even clearing the GW2 cache, though I’ve no idea if those would address the issue. Still, some things to try while waiting.
Good luck.

Ahh. I thought the question in the OP was whether we were still the Commander of the Pact.
My bad.
I like the Mounts. I wasn’t that keen on the Oakheart mode of travel, though many are. Bouncing Mushrooms are ok, but limited in area of use. Thermal Propulsion is fun, but again limited in area of use. Wallows are really just restricted Waypoints.
I suppose, with Mounts, one could forego their use except where specifically needed, and just imagine that the previous mechanic was placed in that spot. In the demo, at least, it took very little time to gather the Mastery Points (I gathered 4 or 5, and never even found the Chef one), and XP required. I completed the first 2 Tracks, and gathered all the XP for the third track (which was locked); I didn’t even play that much during the demo, maybe a total of 8 hours?
Regardless, Path of Fire could not be a stand-alone expansion and incorporate all the previous Masteries, as well. Since there had to be new Masteries, might as well give something a lot, so it seemed, of players wanted.
I thought our characters left the Pact some time ago. Hence, we are referred to as ‘Boss’ (of our Guild), rather than ‘Commander’.
Perhaps, I am mistaken. /shrug
Haha! Personally, I love the Black Lion Chests. I’m not sure I want anything from these new ones, as I already have a lot of what is on offer. Maybe, if/when they go on sale. Or, I might have been tempted if I wasn’t saving my Gems for whatever is on offer when PoF launches.
Your numbers are off if your trying to establish that Vets paid more than someone purchasing today.
At launch – Guild Wars 2 $59.99 Standard (plus Living World Seasons 1 + 2 free)
At launch – Heart of Thorns $49.99 Standard (plus Living World Season 3 free)
At launch – Path of Fire $ 29.99 Standard (plus Living World Season 4 free)
New player purchasing all (not including Living World Seasons 1-3) $49.99 (plus Living World Season 4 free)
New player purchasing all (plus Living World Seasons 2-4) $75.99
Yes, new players pay less than Vets for the same content, but miss out on all of Living World Season 1, all retired/changed Festivals, experience, lower cost for items, certain sales, give-aways, availability of some items, removed content, etc., etc.
What Vets gain is the new player population, making the game remain viable.
I’ve never heard of those terms. Are they from another game?
You are most welcome! =)
Welcome to Tyria, and best of luck.

Some players that are stalled trying to download GW2 have success using a VPN just to get past the stalled area. You might try that for GW.
Good luck.
You can try changing gw2setup.exe to gw2.exe and placing it wherever you wish to install the game. (Hopefully, you are downloading rather than trying to install off a disk.)
Good luck.
There is no phone support. No pleas for help will move a ticket out of its place in the queue. Each ticket submission must wait its turn, and will be addressed as soon as it can.
Yes, most of the time there is not high volume. Otherwise, there would not be the occasional announcement that support is running at 7 days, instead of the normal 3 days.
(You could easily see the volume of tickets daily/weekly when the ‘Tickets for Review’ Sticky was available. High volume periods see more than 10,000/day.)
Good luck.
What you could do is use the boosted character to play through part of the Personal Story, and gain those rewards, especially the Black Lion Keys/Karma Booster/Silver Doubloon . Many players use their Level (x) Scroll for Key Runs.
Good luck.
If both tickets address the same issue, close the duplicate and only update the original. Duplicate tickets slow down the process.
Ticket responses are slower than usual (7 days) due to high volume.
Good luck.
The CS Team is allowing 7 days for responses, due to high volume.
Good luck.
You can find the list in the Wiki, as well as an Widget to show which you have collected, and which are missing:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hungry_cat_scavenger_hunt#Hungry_cat_locations
Good luck.
The Path of Fire expansion costs less than the Heart of Thorns expansion. If you want to bundle Path of Fire and Heart of Thorns, the cost is the same as Heart of Thorns was at release.
Thus, a brand new player would pay the 50 USD (for everything), but (Core+Hot)Vets pay only 30 USD (for content they don’t already have).
You only need 10 HoM points for the Fiery Dragon Sword. You get 3 just for linking your GW and GW2 accounts. It’s not especially difficult to get the FDS.
Now, GWAMM is very time-consuming. That would be one of the ultimate rewards.
Good luck.
Experience, content that was removed or changed, ease of completing content when new/popular, often a wider variety of skins and items, trophies no longer available, bugs that have been fixed (some hilarious), removed/changed systems, availability/cost of some items, retired/changed Festivals, etc.
Doesn’t really matter, though, as long as you enjoy yourself. =)
Aww…I wish we could send them to our main accounts. Got a nice Mini out of my free alt one.
Oh, well.
Tier 2 = Max Level Boost, Additional Character Slot, A weapon Skin, an outfit, a identity kit, permanent access to a delux area
Tier 3 is everything for Tier 2 + 4000 Gems (50USD) for only 20$ more.
Not a bad deal really. Gems apparently will show up within 72 hours.
^This is inaccurate.
Standard Path of Fire: $29.99
Deluxe Path of Fire: $54.99
Ultimate Path of Fire: $79.99 ($25 dollars more – half-price for the Gems purchased)
There are no bonuses for pre-ordering. However, as stated above, there are bonuses for pre-purchasing.
Good luck.
The CS Team will assist you. Be aware, due to high volume, response are running a bit slower than usual.
You sure you made no purchases from ArenaNet? No Gems, or other items though the Gem Store of the Shop page?
You can purchase Gem Cards at your local retailer, but that would not prevent your account from being hacked, or your credit card details stolen. Account security tips can be found in the Knowledge Base or Stickies above.
Good luck.

Sometimes, transfers take some time. Have you tried logging out completely and logging back in?
If you continue to have issue, you can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Ticket’ for assistance.
Good luck.
Unless they change the policy, those Episodes will be unlocked from logging in whilst they are live. You will, then, be able to access them once Path of Fire is purchased.
Good luck.
Not sure which track you are looking for, but searching on YouTube brings up a plethora of soundtrack videos for Season 3.
You could also try ArenaNet’s soundcloud page: https://soundcloud.com/arenanet/sets/guild-wars-2-living-world-season-3
Best of luck.
Bump? Are we allowed to bump here?

You just need to scroll down (or change pages) to look for threads (in the future). =)
Good luck.
Now, the original Guild Wars 2 package obviously provides the purchaser with all of the maps with the exception (or inclusion) of those which include Draconis Mons, Ember Bay and the Bitterfrost Frontier although I believe that they have to be unlocked by gem purchase, right?
Even when the Living World Season 3 maps could be accessed without buying HoT (unlocking them with gems), you can not do much there without gliding and mushroom jumping. I am not sure if CAN buy those LS3 episodes without owning HoT, but you CAN NOT finish LS3 story without HoT masteries.
One can not access Living World Season 3 maps without purchasing Heart of Thorns. Even if they are unlocked by logging in, access is locked behind owning Heart of Thorns.
In a nutshell, purchasing Heart of Thorns allows one access to all Heart of Thorns content: the 4 original maps, the 6 Living World Season 3 maps (once unlocked, either by having logged into the game when live or purchased with Gems), Heart of Thorns Elite Specializations, and Heart of Thorns Masteries. Heart of Thorns must be purchased with real money.
Purchasing Path of Fire will grant access to Path of Fire’s 5 maps, Path of Fire Elite Specializations and Path of Fire Masteries, as well as the Revenant. Also, it will grant access to Living World Season 4 (maps and content). Keep in mind, Living World Releases are on a schedule of release every 2 to 3 months (usually), so we should expect to receive several Episodes (8 -12?) over the next 18 – 24 months before the next expansion. Path of Fire must be purchased with real money.
Living World Season can be acquired with Gems, either through real money purchase or Gold-to-Gems exchange.
Probably, the best advice to give is to purchase both in the bundle, but if players want to be able to access the current releases upcoming, Path of Fire would be the best choice of the two.

I like the Unid gear. I certainly receive a boatload of Rares, and a few Exotics. Selling one Rare covered the cost of 15 or more identifications. I also received regular blues and greens, etc. from mobs. It seemed most of the Unid gear was from event rewards (chest on side of screen).
Do remember, Magic Find affects Unid gear identification.
^With regular characters, that is so. Who knows with Demo characters, since it is a ‘copied’ account, and may be considered a different account? Most likely, though, those characters are still viable in the database. Still, it’s not been 24 hours since the demo ended, yet.
I think there was a post/announcement about the Season 3 Episode 6 Guild Chat being delayed due to the upcoming expansion (announcements/demo/etc.).
I don’t remember if it was on the previous Guild Chat, or somewhere here on the forums (or even Twitter). Sorry.
Even once a drop rate is established, it doesn’t mean your drops will adhere to it. You could get 0 out of 40 drops; you could get 40 out of 40 drops.
It’s just luck..also known as RNG.
Good luck.

Questions about Demo Characters (Saved Names)

Names are reserved for 24 hours after deletion. Either the name will become available soon, or if the characters are being saved for next weekend, then soon after next weekend’s demo is over.
Good luck.
I’m not sure what you mean.
You can combine commands.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments
Here is an example: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments#-password_.5Bstring.5D
Command line arguments may need to be in a certain order, so you could try moving their placement.
(I use two or three on mine.)
Good luck.
This may be helpful: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skirmish_Supervisor
You need to unlock the Armor/Weapon from the pertinent Reward Track first.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/WvW_Reward_Track#Exclusive_tracks
Good luck.
Looks like Telia (or even before) is having issues, once again. You can try using a VPN for possible better results.
Good luck.
You can try a -repair of the client. Instructions found in the Knowledge Base accessed via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Search – Repair’.
You can contact the Tech CS Team via the same link and ‘Submit a Ticket’ for assistance.
(You can also request a change to your Display Name when you contact the CS Team. Do be aware, it can have consequences with regards to Mail, Friends List, etc.)
Good luck.
I suspect that the heart is part of the story intro so that new players can see how they work.
They were nominally required for parts of LS#3 (in some cases, you’d have to work pretty hard to leave them incomplete while finishing the story; in a few cases, they were all-but-explicit requirements).
I’m not a fan of hearts generally. But as long as I never need to do them more than once per map or per story, I don’t mind. The Druid Backpack scavenger hunt required repeating hearts over 5 dozen times (4 hearts repeated 16 times each) — now that’s excessive, in my opinion.
tl;dr heart as part of PoF story? eh, that’s ok. (But please no more scavenger hunts that require completing them for ages.)
Just a small note: The Druid Backpack did not require completing Renown Hearts over 5 dozen times. That was only if one wanted to complete it as fast as possible. I’m still working on it, I’ve just started the last stage, and I’ve certainly only completed the Renown Hearts a handful of times. (Remember, one can acquire 1 Druid Runestone Fragment daily without going near a Renown Heart.)
As to the topic, I didn’t really mind the Renown Hearts in Crystal Oasis. In fact, I really enjoyed the firefly one. I purposely did that one more than once. They didn’t seem to take long to complete. It’s not really much different than completing a particular Dynamic Event (or two) over and over. In addition, (per character) they only have to be completed once (or so).
Whilst awaiting your reply, have you tried a -repair of the client, in case of corrupted file(s)? Updated/re-installed/rolled back your graphics drivers?
Instructions found in the Knowledge Base accessed via the ‘Support’ link and ‘Search – Repair’.
Though, re-downloading probably would have repaired any files. Tried moving the gw.dat file, in case those files sit on a bad sector?
Good luck.
A new PoI was added to Lion’s Arch. It directs your character to some pre-content for Path of Fire.
Good luck.
And yet, some players have posted about what a difficult time that had in the Story instance.
I thought they were about the same as mobs everywhere (outside Core Tyria), maybe a bit easier. Density was less than some post-Core maps, for sure. Probably more enjoyable for those that didn’t care for HoT.
Enemies may be quite different in the other maps. Not long until we find out.
