I actually hope not. I’m hoping that every year we’ll get a new skin of some sort that memorializes that year (like in GW1). Don’t get me wrong, I really like the skin, but I want new material for the most iconic time of the year for GW.
I want an unlimited transmutation diamond. Be willing to pay 1200 gems for it!
I would buy one if it let me unbind the tools I already have. I just can’t justify buying one when I already have the tools on my main. Now if I could take those tools off my main and put on one of my alts then I’d buy them. It would be nice if they sold a soulbound-to-accountbound converter for say 50 gems.
You will absolutely see a way to create a precursor available in the future. As detailed in our plans for the second half of the year here:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/looking-ahead-guild-wars-2-in-2013/
As mentioned at the end of the blog, as always things are subject to change as test and prepare various systems. Most of the stuff covered in the blog you’ve already seen implemented, or steps towards being implemented, however the precursor building (and corresponding additional legendary items) is the one highest at risk to not make it this year.
It is still something we absolutely plan to do!
Notice he continues to say ‘build’ and never ‘craft’. I don’t believe this to be unintentional.
You may now speculate.
I thought the same thing and frankly prefer that to crafting. It was mentioned quite a while ago about a scavenger hunt. I love this idea personally as long as you can “build” different precursers with roughly the same amount of effort.
This has been asked for by multiple people and I’m in full agreement. Let me spear people outside of the water!
800 gems for an unlimited use item, then I’ll pay (though still sucks it would have to sit in my inventory, perhaps add it to the GUI would be much more friendly) less than that is a joke!
1) A cleaving weapon (rework axe would be good)
2) Condition fix for PvE (not exclusive to necro though)
3) More access to Torment (we should have hands down the most access much like mesmers and confusions)
I was really hoping she would be from the other Pale Tree…you know, the one we know exists but has not had any other mention in the game aside from the one personal story mission.
I really hope English is not your first language as your grammar is atrocious. If it is a second language though, completely understandable.
As to the point of the topic. I agree that a 2 week schedule is a little quick, I wouldn’t mind once a month for living story, and in between a balance fix. I think that would be ideal.
As for the story on the website vs. in game, I agree that it would be nice in game. Anet even stated they were working on it in these very forums, so just be patient. That said, saying that “barely anyone take care of it…” if you meant to say that barely anybody cares then that is a rather bold statement and one I don’t think you’re qualified to make. We live in a multi-media society so I don’t think there is a problem linking their blog post to the game. Again, that isn’t to say I wouldn’t rather it be in game, but it is to say I don’t mind so much that it isn’t.
Why Insult and Humiliate the Op english grammar?
As a result,
Your post Does Not Deserve to be read.
(Follow the post here>> trashcan)
There is a difference between insult (a subjective statement made for the purpose of causing harm) and a statement of fact. It is fact that the grammar is terrible and as a result makes the post difficult to read. If English is not a second language there is no excuse.
That said, if it was construed as an insult, then my apologies. If the simple fact that somebody pointed out the truth hurt though, perhaps that will inspire to get better in the future. Anyway, take it or leave it as you will.
Back on topic, I do look forward to when more ingame backstory is created, but hope they don’t stop with the online blog to add to it more.
No. It isn’t esports or living story.
Although I hate this answer, right now it seems rather accurate. I hope we get these updates and more (Guild Halls please!), it seems unlikely for the near future.

What is the purpose of having Tengu around with models if they serve no purpose in the game. I know people think they might become a playable race in the future but that now seems highly unlikely with Anet’s stance on the idea of expansions (I would love to see them as a playable race, prefer avians over cats).
On that note will we see any sort of new areas with the living story, as in a new region to explore rather than a dungeon or small addition to pre-exsisting maps?
The simple answer is that they’re part of the lore. We had Tengu in Guild Wars 1, so now we have them in Guild Wars 2. They don’t do anything, just like the Skritt, but they’re there.
They were too careful with the models, that had at least at one time planned to add them as a playable race. Besides, your argument doesn’t hold water as there are many, many races in GW1 that are not in GW2. nagga come to mind, many dinosaurs, gargoyles, the forgotten, seers, mursaat (boy I hope they make a comeback, perhaps behind Scarlet’s vision), and more.
/puts on Hat of Cynicism +5
They’re not going to add the tengu as a playable race for the same reason they’re not adding new zones or expanding the Personal Story…money. Doing any of those things costs money and takes time, and cranking out filler content via the Living Story makes them lots of money for minimal effort. They’ve already said they aren’t going to have our characters speak because the cost involved isn’t worthwhile, and I can’t help but feel new races aren’t going to be added for the same reason. Too many players play the game for loot and rewards, not enough play for the Personal Story a new race would offer.
There is a way to solve that problem. Put them into the gem store to unlock. introduce them via the living story and then give a gem store option to add them to your player creation and call it an account upgrade. It would be a rather huge gem store seller in my opinion as many, many people want a new race to play. Not to mention the money is minimal for animations and design since most of the groundwork has already been done.
I’ve played all races stories and have played all except warrior professions. I’ve had some story missions that are harder than others, but I’ve made it past all of them.
Hated the Priory’s Skritt racial mission with my mesmer. I was new and the mesmer had trouble with the large nasty mobs. But I eventually made it through it.

On Invictus’ point: The sylvari don’t care about land ownership, and they get along well with humans – I don’t think they’d interfere with a human claim. It’s also worth mentioning that Trahearne’s ritual only worked because it was at a site infused with the power of the gods. Overall, I’m pretty sure the sylvari in general, and Trahearne and the Pale Tree specifically, know darn well of the significance of the site for humans, and they’d be putting in their say that whatever settlement ultimately occurs takes that into account.
You may be right that the Sylvari wouldn’t care and thus would allow the human’s to reclaim, that doesn’t mean that the Sylvari wouldn’t have a claim. I’d submit that the Sylvari may in fact care in that they have a very vested interest in nature and it’s growth and nurturing. Although they aren’t the kind to go into, say, Ascalon and tell the Charr to clean up their act, they may very well take a personal stake in Orr given that it was a major part of their short lived society to see it cleansed.
I think they Sylvari would likely allow the humans to move back in and may even allow for human Sovereign rule, but I don’t think they would simply allow the humans to take over completely without a heavy Sylvari presence. How the humans would respond to this I’m unsure, but I think it would at least start out on good and cooperative terms.
I think they will become playable for reasons already mentioned (in this thread and the many like it). As for the zone, it is VERY likely that we will go to the Tengu area one way or another via the living story, just may take a while. The game is only 1 year old after all.
However they’ve already created a designated area, made NPC who talk about it, made multiple entrance and connection points (two that I know of are as obvious as having a door with Tengu guards outside of them).
Lore wise they also have a rich history, but they have to wait for the right timing. Personally I think they are waiting to see what will happen with Cantha. If Cantha is a go then they will likely tie Tengu in with that. If Cantha ultimately stays scrapped then they will break Tengu away. Either way they need to know in order to create a compelling story.
Wish it prioritized the caster. I hate when I put down a timewarp and don’t even get the quickness buff myself.
Yes please
Until they made an option to toggle it off, I would constantly drop my target because I use the mouse to rotate my map all the time. Whenever I’d right click to start rotating I’d often accidently click on a friendly or an option and then it would target them. Not saying this is always what is happening, but if you don’t have the right click target option turned off this is likely the culprit in at least some of the cases.
Since the game has just celebrated the first anniversary you’re basically saying you’ve come back from leaving after the very start of the game.
Well then, what’s different now…
Mmmm, how about everything?
Ditto, it seems you didn’t play for long when you started (maybe just beta’s or for less than a month after it came out) so what is old is new to you. I suggest simply playing the game as a new player would and you’ll either enjoy yourself or find it isn’t for you. Given a chance I’d like to think you’ll discover the former.
tl;dr
Dont know if it has been mentioned.
The primary thing i would like to see changed about Ground Targeting skills is, when having a foe selected/targeted, double clicking the skill will cast it on top of that foe.
Why not an option to toggle “auto-play” where a bot plays your character and uses skills/dodges/placement to the best possible extent…!!!!111one.
Hmm, didnt knew my post would attrackt flies or trolls.
Anyway, in a boss fight or zerg i cant really see well where to put my Ground Targeting skill. And my suggestion saves time casting Ground Targeting skills also.
Frankly I like this idea very much I just think that troll thought attacking others makes him look cool.
In any case, I would like this very much as long as it placed it where the enemy was when you first started casting. It should not be a “heat seeker” but otherwise this would increase QoL, especially during those large zerg moments.
I know i’m going to flamed here but it is almost statistically impossible to salvage 7 rare in a row with a master kit and get no ectos.
I don’t think that word means what you think it means…
Seems every time there is a new patch, a new thread like this appears.
Frankly I think the Sylvari have the strongest claim to it. It was a Sylvari who led the pact to reclaim it, it was a Sylvari that cleansed Orr, it was the Pale Tree who gave the most insight in what needed done, and it was the Sylvari who were on the front lines in almost every battle (because of their immunity to the corruption).
Sure, it was a human city once, but the humans destroyed it (and they don’t really have a birth right since they colonized Orr, they didn’t originate there). Sure the Charr were in the middle of conquering it and likely would have had it not been destroyed, but then the same can be said for just about every land they saw.
To me it is obvious that by rights one of two things should happen. A) the Sylvari claim the land and rebuild it or B ) this becomes an area jointly owned by all races and becomes a more legit version of LA (you know, not run by pirates).
I’ve wanted something like this to hit the gem store for a while. Unlikely to happen though as I’m sure it wouldn’t even be considered unless they were able to do something similar with all professions.
+1
Never understood why Golem was the only minion not able to be underwater. Complete laziness if you ask me.
It is the same theme and the timing is suspect. That said, GW2 wasn’t the first to do something like this to advertise. GW1 did it too (granted it is the same game franchise) during the War in Kryta arch. I know other settings have done it too.
Scarlet again, are you serious?
This pigtail plant is one of the most pitiful villains I’ve ever seen.
I don’t understand why Anet is designing so much content around her.
I suppose it is all subjective, and I only warmed up to her after reading the short story they released. But to say one of the most pitiful villains is a bit much suggesting you don’t watch much T.V.. But then I guess to each their own.
Really want Mordremoth introduced and the corrupted jungle revealed. Don’t mind if we don’t get to fight him/her, but would love to see his/her corruption and champion!
Do Elder dragons even have a gender? I don’t think creatures of magic have any kind of bodyparts that indicate the gender.
Glint was given feminine connotations and even laid eggs which further suggesting a female. In fact, I think in game Glint was referred to as a “she” in GW1. Reptilians often don’t have visible male/female parts (I have breed pythons so could tell you all about it, but not in this setting).
Sounds like fun, and yes I do like Scarlet. A little too much of the typical anime villain, but then I like anime. The voice acting though is great!
1. Mordremoth (Jungle, Poison)
2. Grenth (Death, Ice, Darkness)
3. Lyssa (Illusions, Beauty, Water)
4. Kralkatorrik (Crystal, Sand, Hurricane)
5. Scarlet (Advanced Technology, Knowledge of Eternal Alchemy)
Really want Mordremoth introduced and the corrupted jungle revealed. Don’t mind if we don’t get to fight him/her, but would love to see his/her corruption and champion!
With that many alts, you probably just logged into an alt for the first time. The karma from each individual toon only transfers when you log into them. So until you log into them once their karma is not added to your pool. When you first log into one of them then your karma will jump significantly.
Would love an underwater city and zone. That said, they need to invest some serious man-hours to underwater mechanics if they want such a thing to be successful (but oh how I’d love them for it).
Torch seems fitting both from possible skills (something with green fire would be awesome) and also lore. Lore wise, the necro is most likely to be delving deep into dark tombs and catacombs, so a torch would seem to be a standard tool for them in my mind.
This has concerned me as well. I can understand the move so that karma bonuses don’t affect consumables anymore. Fine. I also understand the removal for failed events. Ok then. But the daily, monthly, and dungeon removals? Really Anet? This very much sucks!
Agreed, I want my Valkyrie’s equipment!
So how does everyone like the new Cantha?

Nice pic comparison
P2W, really? This is a serious topic? If you don’t play SAB at all you are in no way at a disadvantage in this game than if you do play SAB, so how is being able to conveniently continue in your game within the game a play to win scenario.
Personally I don’t mess with SAB. I think it is a cool idea, and other enjoy it so great. As for me, I got enough the first time and am frankly glad for this content so I can get back to do other things rather than just living story. That said, I will not be at a disadvantage to other players in the game to somebody else who does SAB all day every day until the end. P2W, I don’t think you really know what that means.
Perhaps higher levels have a better chance of getting higher level essence of luck. I haven’t really tested as most of mine were 70-80 anyway, but would be interested to know.
I’m serious. Seen lawyers get happy over less. Just most people don’t know their own rights and what they are and are not entitled to. Like my state for instance, I am entitled to this.
Have fun with that. Frankly I don’t think you have a case, but even if you did it is a laughable lawsuit as the costs will far outweigh the gains and likely wouldn’t result in a favorable end for you as I’m sure the corporate lawyers have already looked at this before they implemented and feel they are in the right.
I don’t have a legendary, however my idea on this is a simple one. Make the Legendaries unsoulbound until first use and make a popup to tell the players that. If they use it then it gets soulbound. If they don’t like the new look they could sell it. Problem solved.
Change is not the problem, its being led to believe one thing then getting another. I never expected to get 300% account bound. But they where the ones who said they would take care of people who have invested in MF but that has not happened. Every one got the same regardless of MF investment.
Really? Led to believe what? They’ve said for some time now exactly what would happen. This update was NO surprise whatsoever since they had revealed basically exactly what they were planning for the last month now.
This was answered in the same patch notes you quoted.
I’m in the same boat. Had 3/4 completed and only needed another daily. Was surprised by this and a little ticked!
I read that post entirely and must have missed the part where he mentioned necros. The shaving he was speaking of was about Rangers (spirit builds I believe as they wanted to buff and are shaving back that buff). OP, can you quote his reference to Necro?
I’ve agreed with this in other threads. I’ve posted my own thread some time ago in the suggestions forum (where this belongs btw). Now I’ll agree again in this thread.
Please link source. Thanks
I think the cooldown is reminisent of the old veil skill and when they nerfed it they never bothered to update the cooldown.
I would also like this, though I’m not sure Anet would ever consider it.
With an answer from anet like that, back to Skyrim I guess. The disdain anet has for players, especially casual players that just cannot play and grind all the time is astounding. Or it would be if I had not seen those 1year numbers. So many players, that casual and even semi-casual players are likely not part of their core market anymore. These past two events have been very grind heavy. Not a good sign.
I’m sorry, but I’m a bit lost. To what “answer from anet like that” are you referring? The only thing I saw was from the posted above you saying they said they are working on it. What did I miss?
