Do you think we will ever see a craftable Caladbolg in the mystic forge? I imagine it a “pseudo”-legendary skin, similar to Volcanus and Foefire’s Heart, which both cost around 350g.
I played the sylvari personal story, and by the Pale Tree, this sword is BEAUTIFUL! It glows and has butterflies flying around it when you wield Caladbolg!
Hopefully this will be craftable someday…
My proposed recipe:
1 Bloodstone Shard
1 Gift of Wood
100 Mystic Coins
250 Onyx Lodestones
Transmute it to a CoF weapon. They never show up in vendor!
I don’t find Zenith weapons fit the looks of any of my toons, yet it’s forcing me to choose, and the chest wont go away.
Any way to choose a skin later, and just get my achievement box for for now?
Or can anyone suggest a cool look to go along with one of the weapons? (Maybe Charr Mesmer and Greatsword?)
I’m having a hard time holding a steady crit% rate on my engineer while maintaining a decent dungeon/high-level fotm trait setup.
I’m running full zerker gear with:
2x Runes of Hoelbrak
2x Runes of Strength
2x Runes of Fire
+60% might duration
+75 Power
My overall strategy is to do everything I can to buff my team with stacks of might. Problem is, I lose a lot on my own personal damage because I lack critical% chance and survivability.
I’ve been trying various trait combinations:
30-10-0-0-30
30-20-0-10-10
30-30-0-0-10
30-0-0-30-10
Problem is, I lose out on survivability (dodge) if I trait for crit, or I lose out on crit if I trait for survivability, tool-belt, and boon-duration.
Every 10 points in Arms grants about 5% of crit rate. 30 in Explosives is mandatory for 1500 range grenades when needed.
With the 30-10-0-0-30 setup I get about 49% crit rate, +10% if I’m more than 600 range. The problem with this setup is my bomb damage suffers a lot. I feel obligated to use Medkit and Goggles for fury, which takes away from my team support (healing turret) and any spare utility slots.
30-20-0-10-10 is balanced between crit % and dodging (vigor), however something about it simply feels lacking… Missing out on faster toolbelt recharge, which means less Static Discharge.
Like the above, 30-0-0-30-10 misses out on faster toolbelt and static discharge activations. Even worse, it has MUCH less crit% chance than the other builds! (Only 43%!) It benefits from 38 seconds of blast finisher Might instead of 32 for my team, but I’m locked into taking Elixir B in one of my utility slots, which means less might for my team!(Furthermore, traiting Elixir B only extends fury to 15s, leaving another 15-20s with no fury, unless I use Medkit.)
As you can see from my convoluted post, I’m in a complicated pickle. I’m not sure how to make my build work with Might-buffing allies, while not losing out on a decent crit% rate.
Any advice? Is the 60% Might duration worth it in the longrun? So should I just go Rune of the Ranger x5Ruby Orb x1 instead?
Let’s keep this thread alive and ontop of the forum!
Sky Pirates are over. Where’s our sexy rapier sword skin?
[&AgGzqQAA]
I’ve been wanting this for SO long! (Along with many others…)
Will we ever see Rapier love?
I’m having a big problem with Stun Breakers.
Elixir U either removes my endurance or makes me take more damage, making it much less useful as a defensive skill (or offensive, for that matter.)
Everything else has a long recharge time as well.
What do you use?
Aint this the closest thing to PowerPrecisionHealing Guardians?
Would celestial at least be a good combo to mix?
We dodged the nerf bat!!!
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/july-9-content-release-notes/
I would like to see the kit-hobosacks done away with completely. Just get rid of them already!
We already have the default character-creation backpack. Ain’t that enough!?
Tamini eat sandwhiches made of people.
They are like the GW1 charr.
The issue here is hobosack clips with hobosack. When using a kit, you start wearing TWO hobosacks after using any skill.
Another reason to get rid of “hobosacks”.
Plz anet, nobody likes them…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Engineer-Backpacks/first
Apparently if you attack while in a kit, it “restores” your backpack but clips. Try it out ingame and be unable to unsee it.
Not sure how to describe this, but during the beginning of Asura fractal I either walked off the platform or got knocked by a harpy into an out of bounds area past the “clouds”. After falling down some more cliffs I’m positive it wouldn’t have warped me back, and this would’ve brought me to (what was) the “fractal limbo” (now it’s just a body of water neighboring the Ice Fractal)
Not sure what else to say. This happen to anyone else?
Solution: Portals! Portals for everyone!
Get a friend to port you. Since you’re handicap, I’m sure they will be able to accommodate you!
I want to see The Grove get more use.
Hoelbrak and Black Citadel had Flame and & Frost, Divinity’s Reach sort had the bar scene, and Rata-Sum had Super Adventure Box.
The only city left without an important role in the living story is The Grove, and kitten it as a salad-head I want to see the pale tree again!
Originally we could see Zhaitan’s Corpse inside Arah Explorable. In fact, he could see his corpse in early trailers and beta forms of the Arah Map. He was removed from the final version because his new corpse is too big, I assume.
I like the idea of a Sniper kit very much. Afterall, the “Plated Sniper Rifle” skin is unused except for the Precursor, so this gives the game a chance to make it unique.
Here be another patch day soon.
Should we pessimistic for more nerfs? I feel engineer is finally in a good place right now, so it would break my heart if we were nerfed again…
Definitely Ranger.
Our damage is pathetic (even with 25 stacks of might on a JAGUAR!), our 1h sword is bugged (cannot dodge), spirits are frail with poor effects, and our RANGED options kinda suck…
Now that I have seen the climax of the story and fought one of the game’s main antagonists and one of the most powerful beings in the entire story of Guild Wars,
Technically that is Abaddon from GW1: Nightfall.
Despite the common belief Elder Dragons are stronger than gods, Abaddon’s powers were vastly more far-reaching than Zhaitan. To put this in perspective, Abaddon was able to twist the world into nightfall while still locked inside the Realm of Torment AND sealed by chains inside the Heart of Abaddon. Whereas all Zhaitan did was raise a Orr. (The risen do most of the dirty work for him, as Zhaitan has little influence other than being the object of their obsession.)

My opinion: No. Because you can lose your phone, or drop it in a toilet.
I wish they could’ve sold the Aetharblade Rapier in the gemstore… Sooo disappointed!
“1.While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game. I must apologize for a possibly offensive comment ingame regarding mental illness, not too long ago from this post.
I don’t recall anyone personally messaging me, and I wouldn’t call it “hate speech”, but it’s possible without the context it could have been offensive.
In a situation like this, where a user has a feeling they will be suspended over it, should they apologize on the forums? Or can someone like Gaile Gray please confirm if I will be suspended over it? (I can PM the details)

Bombs, Flamethrower, and Tool-Kit. Most of Rifle’s abilities are close-range based as well.
I’ve actually read most engineer complaints are about the lack of viable RANGED options, and not melee. Nades are a pain to target, Pistol autoattack is a joke, Elixir Gun is condition-based, and rifle autoattack just doesn’t do much special.
Also, who actually runs an engineer in serious PvE play without a kit?
I noticed something perhaps a little odd.
In the Aetherblade Retreat dungeon once you’ve gone along the wooden walkway with the electrical barriers and get to the top there is a dancing hologram. I’m pretty sure it is doing the Sylvari dance… Seems odd for an organisation with no Sylvari in it unless someone higher up is?
No particular reason. They just chose the sylvari dance because someone at ANET thought it was sexy.
Bumping for Great Justice!
Did any of this come true yet?

Insert gif of Rytlock presenting us with E-SPORTS!!!!
Am I reading a post from October, or did someone seriously just suggest a signet build?
CoF p1 is roughly 6.1g/hour. It is nowhere close to 10g. Just a FYI.
This.
Farming Barracudas in the ’Cove is more profitable. Much more so.
They all end the same way. And then Saladfingers hijacks your personal story.
I could tolerate Scepter guardian. What I cannot tolerate is an Elementaist with no Focus on Level 38 FoTM.
As a Warrior, I carry 11 weapons in my inventory. And this lazy elementalist cannot carry 4!?
Have a full weaponset, or kick.
They wont be releasing them, because they wanted Demmi Beetlestone to be “unique”.
Too bad for ANET, nobody cares.
I personally honestly don’t mind some NPCs having unique outfits. It’s not about (for me) having NPC armors, it’s that the unique armors NPCs have in the game look so much nicer in a simpler put together way than most of the stuff available to players.
It’s also about ANET going miles for a little detail nobody cares about. It should be about which armor the player can get, not madame Beetlestone.
At this point, I would really love to see the hobosack done away with. I would really love to use a jetpack instead!

We need a foxxy-style afro, I tell you what!
200% magic find boost? Time to farm some Barracudas!
For a future April Fools event, what if they did a throwback to GW1?
A mysterious rift appears, where players are warped to an ancient battle 250 years ago! Join Warmarshell Trahearne in his exploration of ancient Ascalon as he crosses paths with Prince Rurik!
New Dungeon: The Great Northern Wall (Story)
Players will be temporarily transformed into GW1 professions. You cannot jump or dodge, and you cannot move while channeling skills either. Autoattack will deal pitifully low damage, but your other weapon skills and utilities will have low recharges and become your main source of damage. In addition, skills will cost mana to use.
Once completed, you will be rewarded with a set of “Fake-Charr Hide” armor (using fake-fur instead of real charr fur.
Just my idea so far ^^ I would love to see ANET give us a throwback to GW1, while Trahearne meets his previous incarnations.
Is Rune of the Ranger x5 + Ruby Orb x1 a bad idea?
179 precision= 9% crit rate? With +10% dmg total from both ruby orb and the rune bonuses.
Although it seems like less overall damage boost, the sustain is better?
I’m having trouble deciding on a runeset for my Berserker Engineer. Should I go for a might-stack runeset (60% might duration + 75 Power) or a ruby set? (120 power + 84 precision + 12% crit dmg)
There are pros and cons of both. While I’m open to using another set you recommend too, I’m undecided between these two sets.
-Might-Stack-
Pros:
- Blast finisher might become 32 seconds (38 when traited.)
- Shares might with team
- Replaces the elemenetalist might-stack
- Makes Flamethrower viable
Cons:
- No precision (unreliable burst without crit %)
- PuGs are too stupid to stack for might, making it just a personal buff
- Possibly unnecessary? (If each might stack is only 35 power, can the loss of Crit dmg % and Power result in LESS net-damage than ruby orbs?)
-Ruby Orb-
Pros:
- 140 power equals 4 free might than the +75 power/2stacks on the might-stack set.
- 12% critical damage equals much higher personal damage
- More precision means more successful bursts
Cons:
- Less team support
- Less overall personal might stacks
The most important stat in my opinion is the precision, because it increases the success rate of maximizing my burst damage, and proccing traits and effects.
Which set do you recommend for a zerk-engineer?
I wanna see GW1-style minions.
Having an army of 12 who bodyblock enemies.
With the announcement of no expansion being planned at the moment, can we ever hope to see a continuation of the Personal Story? It kinda ended on a cliffhanger…
As an engineer, sometimes when using [Detonate Rifle Turret] with [Fire Bomb], I do not get might from a fire blast finisher.
Additionally, detonating my Thumper Turret sometimes gives me 6 stacks of might instead of 3 (Not sure if intended, not complaining. Could it have to do with overcharge?)
Tested in Wayfarer Foothills. Out of combat in everything.
If/When they do get put inside the new build (and I think ANET is trying to be careful now), then this guy would have it:
http://www.reddit.com/user/that_shaman
Power+Precision+Healing power, please! My guardian wants this set so badly!
Question: How will the personal story progress with no expansion? I want to kill Jormag, please!
