I get the feeling it will be bad loot. I mean, I get a really bad feeling.
Account-bound materials and skillpoints. Whoopie! :’(
I have a feeling this is just more daily crap, and the actual gain at the end will be disappointing.
But since I try to speedrun all three paths ofCoE, I probably wont mind.
Watchwork Mechanisms
Watchwork tech is the latest and greatest innovation in Tyria. Watchwork parts can be used in new crafting recipes or as currency in the Crown Pavilion to buy items like new rune and sigil recipes, Watchknight Tonics, or the new Sovereign Weapon Set. You might even find the recipe to assemble a Watchwork Portal Device, allowing you to create a personal portal!
My only hopes are this portal device is not temporary content.
I really hope the portal device is not a port to towns. Having it released as temporary content is a big slap in the face to those who miss it.
WP to towns should be free in the first place.
Just use the pillars as cover, and pull the spectral weapons.
@Anet: Please do not nerf. This is one of the few challenging bosses which is actually fun to fight solo. (The other being the boss of Vexa’s lab.)
Should’ve been the class mechanic.
Warrior because it’s more useful for speedruns. It’s pretty much a must-have class.
The commando is already in game right now….watching you.
Commando vs Sandwhichmancer?
I just found out I could trade in my Tournement Tickets, but the ticket merchant isn’t working…
Is this the wrong NPC, or should I contact support?
Oddly enough, you can actually use a Light Armor which makes you look shirtless.
Fun fact: Asura have no nipples.
Personally, I wish ANET made Asura cute rather than sexy.

I actually use The Grove instead of Lion’s Arch due to the close proximity between the Bank/Crafting and Trade Post. It’s also fairly convenient that it loads fast.
I just wish I didn’t have to pay a waypoint fee…
Just an observation more than anything else, not a complaint.
I noticed Achievements replaced quests. It’s like a checklist where you go around the world fulfilling objectives, sometimes whacky (like getting hit by Jorlag’s crash), and sometimes really exploring (Sky Crystals.)
I really like how they brought back traditional questing in a way. It really adds re-playability to the game.
I’m pretty sure I heard somewhere Evon Gnashblade is a former Ash Legion, which would explain a lot if he is Mr. E.
Also remember the “personal nemesis” was introduced in Southsun Cove. We don’t know her exact identity, but we do know she’s a lady from Lion’s Arch, and that she was in the Southsun chapter. This leaves either Kasmeer or Ellen Kiel.
I was suspicious at first because Kasmeer as an Unshakeable buff and a “Legendary” Health Bar, but the fact Logan mistrusts the Lion Guard and says he has “a theory” really makes Ellen Kiel more suspicious.

Do we know if it works on bosses though?
Humans could teleport way before Asuran gates, as evidenced in the Crystal Desert and many other areas of the game. Even Flame Legion have perfected teleportation! (The main difference between Asuran Gate and not, is the capability to travel higher distances.)
As for Asurans being the only geniuses in the world, that is flat out WRONG! The Iron Legion is just as capable the College of Statics. However they choose not to rely on Golems because they are expensive and impractical in the battlefield.
If the Durmand Priory has not yet explained themselves to you, they are just as capable creating gadgets and gizmos as any Asura could as well.
Why would ANET rig the election? They are the ones trying to collect data which character we want to see in the future.

Happy?
Start with Nightfall to unlock heroes (Customizable AI companions)
After that, play Eye of the North to get the other batch of heroes.
Then do whichever campaign you like best.
Maybe Facebook pays ArenaNet since it will bring more traffic to their site.
GW2 story lacks the charm of GW1.
I blame the introduction of dragons and their corruption. It feels so shoehorned in and forced, that the original GW1 lore doesn’t even make sense.
You’re telling me gods simply didn’t know Zhaitan was underneath Orr? Even Abaddon and Lyssa?
It feels more like zombie apocalypse than Guild Wars, and not that the original GW1 wasn’t about zombies, the story of GW2 just feels so forced it lacks its original charm.
Luckily the gameplay and lore is interesting, but the main story is not.
Battering has blowout (knockdown) and has great damage and toolbelt.
I’d say it’s a great balanced skill, doesn’t need any buffs or nerfs at the moment. Please do not change it!
Actually I think it will provide more insight into the “steam” creatures.
Still want Abaddon more.

Do you remember when the game is started and the areas had a lot of player? I want it back!

Tons of events have great farming potential when scaled up, but there’s just not enough people around…
Obey Evon! DESTROY Kiel!
So Evon is like Wario. Me likey!
Obey Evon! Destroy Kiel! (Someone with video editing skills please make this!)
I want an interesting character. We already know Ellen Kiel is flat and cliche. But Evon’s gray-and-grey morality will take the story into a more unpredictable turn.
To a certain extent, his greedy antics also make him quite likeable compared to other characters in the story, sorta in the same way people like Wario.
(edited by Kain Francois.4328)
Seems to me more like viral marketing to spark a buzz in the community.
Also, we’re voting for personality. Ellen Kiel is as flat and boring as ever.
I’d rather the evil guy with unexpected twists and turns.
Warrior is the most similar in terms of capabilities and support.
Frost Spirit + Spotter= Banner of Discipline
Vigorous Renewal= Warhorn #5
Natural Vigor = Signet of Stamina
Longbow= Rifle
1h Sword= Axe
Torch= Longbow (Warrior)
Warhorn= FOR GREAT JUSTICE!
The only Warrior weapon inferior to Ranger is the Off-Hand axe. Let’s face it, Ranger axe is REALLY awesome, with nice damage capabilities! But overall, the Warrior class is better.
So go Warrior.
GW1 is much more “complete” than GW2.
While GW2 is more modern, I would rate GW1 a better overall game because of the complexity and customization available to players.
If you’re someone into a hardcore RPG experience build-making, then GW1 is for you!
Recurring event. Which is a good thing, considering those Koi Cakes are amazing against bosses.
You’re all correct, Mai isn’t dead. She might as well be though, after she answers to you-know-who.
Good.
I want her rapier.
NAO!
Could any reputable users host a Ron Paul-style “Money Bomb”?
Hey Isaiah, you’re pretty reputable. Why don’t we host an event where all Evon Supporters give you 1G, and then by a certain date you convert the melting pot of gold to evon votes?
I tried to give my ranger a chance, and even gave her ARAH gear, however….
Playing Ranger feels like bashing my head up against a wall. EVERYTHING I do feels inferior to every other class (speaking from experience of playing everything else…)
1h Sword feels uncomfortable for PvE, and our overall damage is just too little. We don’t have any decent support, and the little support we do have (Spotter+Spirit of Frost)
The pet damage nerf was worst of all. My panther does not deal much more damage than my bear.
Are you saying to hold down one of the directional keys and hit the dodge button? I’m not following you. I usually have AA turned off but would turn it back on if this works.
I usually hold left or right during the whole time.
Maybe the dragons are just psychotic?
Kralkatorrik is apparently obsessed with “perfection”, so it’s possible he is just an obsessive compulsive psycho.
Does Chill actually do anything in PvE? Does it do anything besides slowing foe’s movement?
Like if I keep Mossman permanently chilled, besides slowing down his movement speed, does it do anything to support my team? Does it actually increase his skill “recharge”, or make him attack slower so teams can dodge easier?
Would it have any use on bosses like Subject Alpha? Or Bloomhunger?
Ever since the pet nerf a few builds back, I’ve been feeling really useless as a ranger because my Jaguar now deals the same damage as a BEAR!
I understand perhaps ANET wants to make us less reliant on pets in the future, but right now I feel really kitten in both damage and support.
Anyone have tips which pets to use? I use to use Jaguar and Bird, but Jaguar attack speed is the same as BEAR, and Bird attack speed is even slower. Are we supposed to switch to drakes and dogs since they have a higher attack rate?
No this is not a QQ thread about 1h Sword dodging. Quite the contrary…
While testing last night, I found there is better response time to dodge if you hold movement buttons while performing the autoattack chain.
Normally if you don’t move while performing the autoattack chain, there is a large lag after the third attack before you can do anything else. You can circumvent this by simply holding a movement button.
I know it sounds crazy, but try it out! It really improves dodging dramatically!
PVT is very bad for PvE, especially on a class like Engineer so dependent on critical hits.
As an Engineer in PvE, your job is to do damage. If you can’t do that, who cares what your survivability is like?
Engineer is mid-range unless we use Grenades, at which point we become VERY long-range! (I would rather a range nerf than damage nerf though…)
And don’t compare with Ranger. Their damage is really bad!
I thought to combine Malicious Training (+50% condition duration on pets) with Black Bear’s Enfeebling Roar, but it doesn’t increase condition duration whatsoever!
With and without Malicious Training, it stays a solid 13s.
So what’s up? Is this something because I’m testing it in a WvW map, or is it messed up?
Anyways, do the Zephyrites have some connection to Cantha? Or did Anet just reuse some old models from the old game?
Probably trying to please the “Canthan” crowd while avoiding depicting Asians because Asians are not part of a “universal depiction of humanity” (what, Asians are not human?)
Quite the contrary, turrets are in a game place at the moment in my opinion.
You should just place them down, use their overcharge, then detonate/explode them.
Rifle Turret – Low CD for Tool Belt and Detonating, decent damage with overcharge.
Flame Turret – Permablind for 5s with overcharge
Thumper Turret – Three blast finishers in one skill, on 50s cd
Net Turret – Overcharge causes it to 3s immobilize +2s stun every 5 seconds.
Rocket Turret – Nice ranged aoe damage, knockdown with overcharge (admittedly, this is the only turret worthy keeping alive.)
With the exception of Rocket Turret, you should just use turrets for their overcharge, then pick them back up or detonate them.
Steampunk weapons are a grey area because they’re depicted differently in every story. Google images “Steampunk weaponry” and you will see what I mean.
My problem is although the Longbow change is a great step in the right direction, and the longbow seems to be in a good state right now, I can’t possibly figure out the point of Ranger as a whole.
We sit at range and DPS with a longbow 3k autoattack…. What’s the point? Engineer can do the same, but with way more support options.
What the ranger needs is more options to support the team in ways a Guardian cannot – A niche that only the Ranger can have.
My proposed niche for Rangers is having them become super-buffers with their spirits, at the risk of being destroyed easily in combat. Specifically, I think Stone Spirit should provide 7s of Protection rather than 3s. This might seem overpowered, but keep in mind Guardians can already establish PERMANENT Protection..
Another niche the Ranger needs is the old effects of Search and Rescue. This is something that made the Ranger an essential team player for High Level fractals, but awhile back they removed the functionality to resurrect Defeated players.
If Ranger is not a master of damage or control, they should at least be able to provide support. Perhaps a little “power creep” is necessary just to bring the Ranger up to other classes.

I’d be really disappointed if this was fake! :|
We need to co-ordinate the Gnashblade campaign!
It’s fake. Look at the number of inventory slots it says have been used. Then count the stacks of gnashblade tokens.
kitten
What we need is a money-bomb where everyone donates 1g.
I wouldn’t look too much into it. This is a game with no real world consequences, and both offer similar things.
Actually, we’re deciding who will be the main character of upcoming story arcs.
It’s Boring cliche (Kiel) versus Eccentric anti-hero (Evon).
If anything, this is a popularity poll not much different than Character Wars on gamefaqs.
Evon’s eccentric character is much more entertaining for a PIRATE election.
Honestly, do we need another cliche goodie-two-shoes hero? Evon Gnashblade is at least entertaining, and that makes him more likeable in the same way as Tybalt Leftpaw.
When we get right down to it, what matters most is an entertaining character. We’ve seen the mary-sue archetype before. There for, it’s time to make way for Grey-and-Gray morality with Evon Gnashblade!
