One key difference: This does not translate into real life politics.
In real life, Democrips and Rebloodicans aren’t much better than each other. Both support wars abroad, both support the police/surveillance state, both are paranoid a terrorist is hiding underneath your balls, both support the drug war, patriot act, NDAA, the NSA spying, overseas spending, and the mommy/daddy-big brother state.
It’s not a stretch to say Evon Gnashblade is better than the fools of congress in real life!
But keep in mind this is just a game. In the world of video games like GTA, you steal cars and run over strippers. With an opportunity to cause trouble in Tyria, people will vote Evon Gnashblade.
Some people actually want to see a shady capitalist merchant influence a PIRATE council, and open up a fractal where we face off against a FORGOTTEN EVIL GOD!
In short, there’s no way to compare real life politics to GW2 politics.
Pretty impressive, but does Entangle on boss #1 and Spirit of Frost really speed up a team over a guardian?
Also, wouldn’t the run be faster with a traited Signet of the Hunt instead of Quickening Zephyr?
Not doubting the ranger, but I’m just trying to analyze it. Could any experienced rangers help me out here? Thanks!
Got a ticket and 2 scraps in my first 13 chests.
Blew 45g on about 15 more chests or so. No ticket, 3 scraps, and some TOTAL makeover kit and transmutation crystals. And Midnight Ice dye!
I can’t say I’m not disappointed, but I am pretty satisfied with what I got from the chests.
What baffles me though, is the fact after 2 weeks we will need 5 tickets to get one Aetherized weapon, when it’s hard enough just to get one.
Something I loved about gw1 was that aside from armor, all weapons were reusable.
No they weren’t. You “customized” (soulbind) your weapons to deal more damage. Who wouldn’t take the 10% dmg bonus?
Is there any way we could organize a bunch of people to coherently work towards his votes?
Anthony posted that information to set your expectations accordingly.
It’s great that you all want Canthan content and it’s cool that you’re all passionate about the content you enjoy, but wishing for things to happen and expecting certain things to happen will not necessarily translate into those things actually happening.
Rather than have you working yourselves up into a speculative frenzy at the sight of the change in the Great Collapse and you being disappointed and angry later because you formed undue expectations based upon theories and speculation, Anthony wanted to make sure your expectations are grounded now.
Where do Canthans of DR live though?
That’s basic shot animation for thieves. Our arrows have a small blue energy spinning around.
Ranger’s Hunter Shot now as well.
Just tried it ingame. Nope.
Can someone with Aetherized bow PLEASE confirm?
So, I’m not going to spoil anything but I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you guys that according to game lore, there was never a Canthan district. If you’ve done your research, you’ll know that the great collapse was formally an arts district.
Community outrage in 3… 2… 1…
Can anyone with an Aetherized Bow please confirm if it has special effects when firing? PLEASE!
Thanks!
Female centaurs.
Chests are actually worth buying now.
VOTE EVON!
Basically your entire post is a statement of what you think happened. Strange huh?
I’m able to read OP’s post and know he has a guilty conscious. Otherwise he wouldn’t be trying to get sympathy.
I can’t judge the “elitists” in his party, on the other hand. We didn’t hear their side of the story. We could figure out what exploits they were doing though by the process of elimination.

Update: I asked someone ingame with the Revolver, and it indeed spins ALL the time in combat.
Anyone have info about the bow?
Those are centaurs. Queen Jennah will be involved somehow.

Does anyone know if the gun barrel on the Pistol and Rifle are constant? Or just when firing?
(Also, do the bows have any special effects?)
ANET is probably laughing at how hard we got TROLLED by this update.
At least they gave us the Revolver…
I really don’t see what’s so amazing about rapiers that everyone is up in arms about it. Since when did rapiers become all the rage?
Since GW1.
Opened 9 chests, got Midnight Ice and BLACK LION TICKET!
The scrap droprate is bad though. Got only 2 in 14 drops. It’s not a bad idea on paper though.
I think this was the best implementation of anet rng.
Rapier: [&AgGzqQAA]
For anyone curious about the model.
We got the baddass revolver, but no rapier makes me a sad kitty.
So the Aetherized weapons were finally released. I’ll give ANET some credit, those are REALLY cool skins! Especially the hammer, and dagger, and shield, and rifle, and EVERYTHING!
Only problem is… WHERE IS MY GOT DANG MUDDA BLEEPING RAPIER SKIN!? :’(
Sword: [&AgGzqQAA]
Another thread of support for the rapier. Please add it ingame, ANET!
People are forgetting you can buy em on the TP for possibly cheap. However for people with the spare $10, the chests will be better.
Seems win-win.
I really want to say this patch was good, and it definitely a step in the right direction. But Ranger is still inferior to other professions in PvE and dungeons.
I did a legit 28 run recently.
Tell your team to STOP being wussies with PVT gear, bring zerker, bring speed boosts, and just run left and right from each seal.
I’m pretty sure ANET tested this out the legit way on level 38 FoTM.
So let me get this straight, instead of stacking against a pillar in AC Exp and killing the spider quickly. You would prefer to run around, get downed and hope that one of your team mates will come along to pick you up? Yes, your standing in the corner going pew pew. However, when a player gets downed the entire team is there to rez. It’s considered a strategy, not a glitch. Without working closely with your team your dead weight and cost the team on wipes when players try to pick you up. My suggestion to you OP is to start looking at what works well and saves time not what is a glitch and what is not. This way you will have more time to do more in the game and…yes, have fun doing it. Leave the Devs to decide what is a glitch.
You are the smartest poster in this thread, and all the care-bears shouting “Death to Elitist-Exploiter-Scum!” don’t seem to comprehend your point.
GW2 is a team game, and my idea of fun is team efficiency. I know who in this thread I will be adding to my blacklist.

This is definitely an amazing buff!
It will not fix Rangers in PvE, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction. What we need now is a fix to 1h Sword, and an established niche in PvE to take Ranger over a Guardian.
It sounds like to me the team wanted to do a specific strategy, and you refused or didn’t listen.
Either they wanted to skip the first two switches, or they stood on the wooden structure during the boss fight. Either way, if they kicked you on level 3 FoTM, chances are they simply found you obnoxious.
Why are the carebears in this thread calling his group elitist, when they darn well don’t know what happened? You really have to try hard to get kicked from level 3 FoTM.

It’s still RNG madness. But I have a feeling ANET finally struck a balance between profit and fairness.
I like how we can get weapon tickets all year long, instead of having to stock up on keys and wait for months.
Aetherblade weapon skins* have been added to the Black Lion Weapon Specialist. For two weeks only, Aetherblade weapon skins cost only one Black Lion Claim Ticket! After August 5, Aetherblade weapon skins will cost their regular price of 5 Black Lion Claim Tickets. All Aetherblade weapon skins *are soulbound on use and can be traded until used.
Just wanted to thank ANET for making the weapon skins tradeable. This brings back the same thrill as Halloween whenever a Greatsaw drops.
I know there will be people who disagree with me, but in my opinion this is how to do the RNG properly.
Tickets and ticket scraps will continue to drop from the Black Lion Chest and can be used for select future weapon sets.
Nice drops all-year round!

Sylvari because the racial skills are actually good. It’s pretty important considering our only reliable Engineer elite is Supply Crate, which doesn’t work too well in Boss Fights.
The Sylvari elite “Take Root” on the other hand, saved my kitten many, many times because it is an “oh kitten” button you could easily press for 3s invulnerability.
Not to mention Grasping Vines is a great 7s immobilize which PIERCES Legendary Imbued Flame Shaman’s shields (being one of the few abilities to actually immobilize him in shield form), as well as applying 7 tics to his shield to break it.
Summon Druid spirit is also useful and underrated, because it also applies Grasping Vines to its targets, as well as REMOVING CONDITIONS off allies, and REVIVING them!
Sun catchers were also a rare chance. Only 4g on TP.
Settle down, Beavis!
Waah wahhh I don’t like 3d Zeldas because it has too many jumping puzzles waah!!
So Evon is pro-gay rights.
Another reason to vote for him!

Echoing the above comment. The watery blue just looks weird… It doesn’t look icy like Icebrood structures, but it doesn’t look like anything else either.. It’s just weird, and we can’t even dye it. It’s a darn shame.
Having played the personal story again, I kinda got the impression Trahearne seems kinda like a friendly guy too.
And contrary to the complaints about his voice acting, he did have ONE good scene in the Personal Story quest “A light in the darkness” where the Pale Tree shows you a vision of Orr and he gives a speech Zhaitan is scared.
I’m somewhat curious what antics he got involved in with Sieran too, since he spoke quite annoyed about her.
Trahearne has a lot of potential if they actually delve into his backstory and his personality as a scholar.
Problem is, the NPCs worship him. So is it Trahearne we don’t like, or the NPCs?
Abaddon is driving my vote.
No offense to the writers, but the Elder Dragons are booooring!
But the gods of GW1 are why ArenaNet has so many lore fans today.
With the blog post announcing new rewards for dungeons, I thought it’d be neat to speculate for Arah. One of the features advertised is rewarding us better for longer dungeons.
Do you think Arah P4 will finally be rewarding? (Like UW in GW1?)
Evon Gnashblade=
Acolyte of Abaddon
Acolyte of Knowledge and Secrets
Acolyte of the Fallen God
I wouldn’t mind a Mace so we can use it with both our close-range off-hand weapons.
As for new skills, I predict we will be seeing a “Sniper” Kit as a long-range alternative to ’nades.
Medkit is fine. Maybe extend the duration of medpacks before they expire, but I see nothing wrong with currently being able to heal allies for 8k HP whenever they need it.
What’s more is that the team is also working very kitten finding a way to make it so that every profession has access to every weapon and their own weapon skills for those previously locked weapons. Engineer plus Hammer? Check. Again, there’s no specific timeline for this, but a new progression system is coming. Finally those level 80s you’ve been hoarding will get some use, as they’ll be adding more and more skills and traits to the game for years to come and on a regular basis for players to obtain.
Does this mean every class will have every weapon? Or just expanding weapon options?
Could a dev please clear this up? Thanks?
Technically, we will. We will play minigames and transmute the rewarded tokens to votes.
Actually it is unknown whether the dragons pre-date or are more powerful than the gods.
I’m pretty sure it’s said somewhere that the dragons pre-date the gods. Which is pretty silly considering how much they hyped the gods in GW1.
In my opinion, the dragons are a huge plot hole in the lore that the devs are desperately trying to fill.
You know you want to vote for Abaddon!
New Achievement: Get Served by the God of Dancing!
No, I do NOT want Ascended Weapons/Armor.
Unfortunately, I don’t think ANET will listen. Let’s just hope it wont be too bad.
Everything else about the update sounds cool though.
I don’t like more ways than FoTM to get Ascended gear waah, waah, waah!!!
It’s not fair they pit cheaper WPs against Abaddon.
Suggestion what to do with “Explorer’s” Armor: Change Magic Find to Healing Power.
BAM! PowerPrecisionHealing armor that Guardians have been asking for so long!
Could they update Predator to use its scope on Engineer? Please? Pretty please?
I’m looking to make a general FoTM traitset, so the skills I use depend on the situation.
