But you cant say there is not enough content. There surely is.
This is my biggest gripe with a LOT of the players posting these “want more content” threads, because they are the exact SAME people who, in the very same breath, say that they don’t PvP, or they don’t like WvW, or they think achievements are dumb, or they avoid the “tedious” Living Story, or they don’t care for Legendary weapons, or they don’t do Fractals or care for Ascended gear, or they don’t bother with armor skin collecting.
My question is, just what the heck are these players looking for in their “content”? If it’s the World of Warcraft experience you’re looking for, then go there, because GW2 is not that, no matter how much or how hard you wish it to be.
People are looking for new content (about 95% of the content in the game has been there since release over 2 years ago) which is fun and rewarding to replay a lot of times with friends or their guild. Not some solo story instances which give an one time reward and become even more boring (because they dont scale up) if you have a group.

he’s been enjoying himself at a reasonable pace.
Exactly this. Enjoying myself, not steamrolling through everything.
Thats great if you can do that. But looking at the retention rate based on my friendlist and past guilds many people grow bored and leave quickly after they reach lvl 80. But I guess Anet just doesnt care as long as enough new players are flowing in.
Most people who log in daily (again based on my friend list and past guilds) since release are either hardcore WvW players or achievement hunters from my experience.
But what would the game be without all the (hard)core players who organise the events and populate the game world for the casuals? Sure solo players might not notice much, but anyone who is looking for a MMO feeling would. They core players are who carry you in WvW, Tequatl, 3 headed wurm, t5-6 dry top etc

Funny, with a job, social life and other commitments, I’ve only managed to clock up 820 hours across my four characters since beta and have yet to experience most dungeons (CBA with the elitism and speedrunners), don’t have a single legendary and certainly don’t feel like I’ve exhausted or grinded out everything this game has to offer.
Seriously, it sounds like you’ve played this game non-stop since it launched. Take a break.
I did take a break. I played TESO and Wildstar in between. And 820 hours is plenty of time to play all the content at least 3x and have 2 legendaries. No idea what you have been doing.
The content in this game lasts about 200 hours if you try repeat nothing at all. But repeating stuff is the nature of a MMO (since it takes multiple times longer to create and polish content than playing through it), so the companies need to make sure that repeating things feels fun and rewarding as long as possible. And I dont feel like the living story is doing a good job at it except for a few exceptions.
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
I played 7280 hours but thats not the point.
It is absolutely the point.
you’ve averaged 67.5 hours per week of game time since release… that’s easily 20-40 times more than what they can produce in the same time frame.
it’s impossible for them to keep up with your pace.
They just need to make content with replay value instead of making do once and forget living story. A few new dungeons with according armor and weapon sets would keep people busy a long time. Obviously I would be “done” faster with it than the average people, but by now even the casuals should have done each and every dungeon multiple times. The dungeons are over 2 years old except one path which replaced another path! Thats a horrible long time in a MMO. The last fractal update is over 1 year ago, too.
You know content which is fun (or at least worth grinding) playing over and over with a guild or friend goes a long way to keep a game alive. I see no reason to replay the living story episodes after the really easy and quick achievements are done.
Of course if you make do once and you are done with it forever content will keep core players not busy. Its something you can do for a single player game, but a bad idea for MMOs.

25612 achievement points
How many hours of playtime did that take.. I’m guessing it’s well over 2k?
do you realistically expect Anet to create/support enough content to match your consumption rate?
I played 7280 hours but thats not the point. We are getting almost no content. Just 30min “fast food” updates in the form of living story. Close to nothing with replay value. Dry Top was ok, but it takes only 1 month to farm the whole set @ one t6 run per day. But there is no challenge in dry top, you just need people to spread out over the map.
Only challenge in this game is the 3 headed wurm. Tequatl is ultra boring nowadays. I cant remember when I failed it last time and I do it as melee commander on unorganized maps.
Only the achievement system is keeping me going to be honest. If the achievements wouldnt exist I had quit approx. 6280 hours of playtime ago. The game needs content with replay value. Things you cant earn in a few hours of game time or buy in gemshop.
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
Definitely. I just quit. Again. Every time, I get a group of friends starting GW2, but we always stop playing it after like a month because we’ve already done everything in the game. Trust me, I love GW2, but I just can’t push myself to play it anymore.
Oh, you already have all Legendaries, collected all (obtainable) mini’s, completed all collections, filled up your wardrobe and completed every achievement in the game then?
I got all legendaries I am interested in (Eternity, Juggernaut and 2x Rodgort), completed most collections except black lion weapons (7 sets completed), wardrobe looks pretty good as far as I can tell, 25612 achievement points (almost all realistic achievements done, maybe 200pts to go if I finish edge of the mist and weapon master stuff), all minis except llama and gwynefyrdd (and the ones not ingame)
good enough for you?
Yes, the game needs new bosses, dungeons and fractals. Its getting boring to do the same stuff every time you play GW2. Living Story is somewhat boring story wise (too predictable and advancing too slowly) and offers no challenges at all.
I’ve heard that to activate the Fractal Collection you need unlock a new fractal skin AFTER the update. I know that won’t help anyone who has all of them already but it’s something for the rest of us.
Thats not it, I had several drop since the update
They must have said it somewhere though, I knew it a long time in advance.
There is no problem with celestial stats. Maybe you should become a better player if celestial is the problem for you.
Well they told us to collect as many skins as possible in our pvp locker before the update, because many skins would become much harder to or even impossible to get.
looking through the announcements, i see nothing of that. I see them saying to spend your glory, but no removal of skins.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/player-vs-player-rewards-roadmap/
Maybe you should have watched their live streams etc. Anet doesnt put all information they release in their blogs. I dont want to imagine what would have happened anyway to the economy if they made a big blog out of it. It was rather easy to craft and/or find some of the very expensive skins like for example Infinite Light or the two dwayna bows in PvP.
-1
If you start doing this you might as well merge staffs with tridents and harpoons with rifles
Well they told us to collect as many skins as possible in our pvp locker before the update, because many skins would become much harder to or even impossible to get.
It wasnt without notification. There was plenty of warning (several months) that PvP rewards will be reworked.
Meanwhile I will enjoy my set of tribal armor.
There is a reason why multiple ways to earn the same thing is bad. Humans take the path of least resistance if they want to achieve something, so the majority will take the easier way and the main way (in ambrite weapon case dry top) would become a wasteland.
I am happy there are no underwater weapons for this sets. Otherwise I would need to buy 3 more weapons I would never use for the achievement.
I cant imagine that its possible to make a game easier than GW2. Its faceroll already
Personally i prefer to buy a skin for 60-70g from the TP instead of having to grind
chests and geodes for endless hours where you never know how long it takes you
until you finally have luck with the RNG.
The ambrite weapons are exactly what the game needs more of. Item which you cant straight up buy if you trade gems for gold or are a trading post mogul. And if RNG bothers you, you can do the pvp reward track for the fossils. But considering you need 16 fossils for the achievement, the RNG should pretty much even out for most people over the 16 fossils.
Exlusivity is a great seller. If you promise xyz wont come back or will be a lot more expensive after x time (black lion weapons), it will sell better than something you can have any time.
A big part about MMOs is the special snowflake feeling.
The problem with fractal skin track is also that you can go weeks without seeing a skin doing the 49/50 daily. So this track would have to take insanely long (25 times or longer than the current tracks) to not make fractals obsolete.
It doesn’t need an expansion. The content and achievements keep the game fresh and moving forward. Why is expansion the battle cry? This game has changed and evolved since its pre-release beta days. The game is evolving and changing. I am still logging in to run around and work towards gaining achievements. Doesn’t need expansion yet. Still more area to explore.
The LS content is ultra casual. It took me like 2 hours to complete episode 6 including all achievements. I doubt thats enough for anyone except the people who want to watch TV while playing.
The problem is there are a lot of bugs and exploits in these minigames and Anet fails to adress them despite numerous reports over the last 12 months or so. One person abusing the exploits ruin the whole round (possibly over and over).
The OP considers himself a community leader lol. Too bad only Anet decides if a server is full, not some “community leaders”. If you exclude people from your community you will just kill the server and have a new generations of trolls.
I agree the quantity leaves a lot to be desired. I never was finished with a living story including all achievements as fast as this time. It was 2 hours of content with the achievements included.
Also the replay value is like zero.
Its fine as it is. RNG ensure the map will not be dead again in 24 hours.
From the release notes:
Bug Fixes:
…The Cryptobotanist will now exchange bandit crests for Mordrem fangs when he is asking for them.
…Except I just talked to him, and he didn’t say anything about fangs, so I’m not sure how that works.
He exchanges your fangs for his crests.
Either everyone is forgetting (or wasn’t aware) that Before the wardrobe change, you weren’t able to apply them more than ONCE and couldn’t get them back if something was applied over them.
The current system is much more forgiving.
Seems off topic. Your problem only affected people who only have one of each weapon/armor. Most people have several of each weapon for different purposes with different skins anyway, so they never overwrote a good/rare skin.
This is a lie. SFR is not full. Most of the time there is only queue on eternal battlegrounds. I can make screenshots for proof if requested.
umad bro this is esports :] enjoy top pvp worldwide anet #1 dev 10/10 would purchase gw3
Esports only exists in Anets dreams. There is so much wrong with GW2 pvp that Anet wont have everything fixed before 2070. Cash prices alone dont make esports.
It wont do the game any good if anet balances the game around the top 100 players either. It drives all the people who try out PvP away to PvE again.
Mesmer Moa, Lich form, Turret engineers always drive me furious if I see them.
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
^ It’s most likely the Isis that got you a rename. A review of current world events will probably explain why. Even though it doesn’t appear your intention was to have a name related to such a group I guess Anet placed it on the off limits list.
Not really, I reported a guild called “Arabs go crazy” [ISIS] via a support ticket and that guild still exists (A GM answered thanking me for the report)
Maybe its because Isis is also a egyptian goddess and religious stuff is not allowed?
All weapons for all classes would be a good start.
We need an option to report leechers/afkers/trolls in sPvP and tPvP. Its stupid if people just go afk mid match and your win turns into a loss because you are always outnumbered. Or if someone keeps suiciding at the enemies to give them free points.
I can see this being a lot of work for GMs to differentiate between legitimate players leechers, but it would be very nice to make PvP a better place.
People dont even get dishonorable stacks for this since they are only added if the afk timer runs out or if you dont attend to a match.
If the minis are in the trailer because they realized how terrible it was to try to get one during Halloween, and there’s some way to get them during the release, and they’re trying to get us hyped for that: good. (Although not communicated well – from what I can tell in this thread I might be the only one who thinks this is a real possibility).
Dont get your hopes up too much
Because it makes anet a lot of money?
I doubt transmutation charges make them a lot of money, most people only use their free ones. If they run out of free charges they either stop using transmutations or farm them.
I dont know anyone who ever said “I have to go farm some gold so I can get gems for transmutation charges” or even bought the gems with real money for them.
Player moderators would be a good start. Its working well in other games.
I can’t name a single game that I have played in 15 years that has been positively impacted by player moderators outside of only forum moderation.
And I cant name a single one where it impacted the game negatively.
Player moderators would be a good start. Its working well in other games.
The halloween shield price is scary…….
But that one is not craftable if you mean the ghastly grinning one. The mad moon shield is though.
There were trial versions of those Halloween skins long time ago. Looks like you got lucky and it unlocked the ~200g skin for you for free. Try putting it on a permanent short bow via the wardrobe.
You could also go to the Shadow Behemoth area, it has a lot of ambient creatures. Or north west of Golem MK2 or some personal story missions.
Because its nice to have one legendary that doesn’t have all the silly footprints.
Thats what exotics are for. Footprints are what exotics and legendaries set apart. The skin itself is usually exotic at best (looking at Rodgort, Frostfang etc)
Easy solution: Make the legendary sand giant in dry top give one giant eye per kill. Would encourage more people to kill him, on most maps he is getting skipped.
He was wondering why the TP wasnt flooded with the raffle skins. Because some people bought a few and 1000 skins arent exactly much for the GW2 population.
Tip: Fall damage is a percentage of your max health. So use a warrior in max vitality equip
Perhaps even an Omega Golem in WvW if you somehow manage to get one up on a very high point.
I am going to make a 25k+ AP party tomorrow and see what happens.
Once at Claw of Jormag event I advertised a 23k+ AP group and someone joined, so its definetly possible.
I know from a few people who sniped several skins for cheap and hoarding them now
So the skins never reach the people who really want them only traders profiting for the most part.
I like it the way it is.
Thats Anet for you. They obviously spawned them with their dev tools to make us angry.
Too bad this raffle had zero effect on the market. I was hoping the prices would go down a bit for a few weeks. I dont understand why Anet protects weapon skins and ruins miniatures all the time.
i bought 825 raffle tickets on the cash shop market hoping for a couple skins and nothing…. honestly screw it! so annoyed with this event… if its true that nexon is controlling the cash shop store we r screwed GG
825 raffle tickets is nothing. there were millions of tickets turned in.
Like in real life you could buy 100m tickets and not win the jackpot.
The prices are hardly dropping at all. Looks like either many people use the skins for themselves, cant afford the listing fee or went inactive.
