GW2 depth of combat discussion?

Yea you get skill choices that you won’t use. These games are all about min and max. If you don’t use a max skill. Then your probably just looking to be stylish. A example of that is say you have a lightning spell that does 800 damage and causes a chance to stun. And you have a fire spell that does 850 chance to burn.

And various other skills that roughly do the same damage. Odds are your going to do the highest unless your trying to look cute. What a lot of games did was take out the looking cute. Alot of choices don’t equal depth. Depth is the sum of all the parts of the game not just the skills. It wouldn’t matter how many skills we use if bosses and environment don’t care either way.

Now pvp if I string a combo together it has a effect on a human player. They will either give up panic run or do something defensive. If I do the same combo to a npc they won’t care same goes for a boss. So what i really think again needs to happen is the game needs to be harder and smarter. And throw everyone who whined about it in the beginning off a bridge.

Also don’t make me do a Aion video it’s really not that different from GW2. I still have a Gladiator there 55.I quit when they paid 2 win god armor I was done then.

Hey I hear ya on the Aion stuff… but their combat was fun because there were many choices in the heat of battle. Baiting a stun to get them to use a specific skill so you could trigger a skill of yours… or purposefully getting stunned for a heal. When to use a defensive move, that could trigger an offensive move….. and chaining these together in a rapid sequence…. that to me is depth…. well more depth then spamming 1 button and kiting/dodging lol. Because lets face it while we have 5 main skills…. they are very situational and most of the time you are just hitting 1 repeatedly while moving around and dodging.

Servers are filling again.

I realize Anet must have done something to increase the cap or filtered it out or something, since the other week they all went from Full to Very High.

However, now they’re filling up again and I can’t get on the server my husband and Guild transferred to (which is Tarnished Coast). Neither can my sister-in-law.

Are these servers stuck at Full? Every time I look, it never moves from Full. Any Tarnished Coast members know what times I should be aiming for to camp the World Select screen?

Server status is based on the number of accounts tied to a server, not the number of players actively online. Even if Tarnished Coast was completely empty of players it would still read full. Shame Arenanet chose to lie about their subscriber numbers like that. : /

Apparently you don’t know how the system works but first…… AN’s subscriber number is 0. No actually it really is 0. Think about it for a minute. Yup still 0.

2nd of all the status of the full server is based on how many players are currently connected to the server and playing. We were able to move entire Titan Alliance guilds to full servers by having several guilds have all their members logout of game synchronized on TS and other voice apps. If what you say were true this wouldn’t work.

Sadly a post by CC Eva overrides your anecdotal evidence. As for your claim that the game has “no subscribers” since it’s buy to play? Well here’s the hard truth. Fewer players mean fewer cash shop purchases, which means less money for NCsoft, which means unhappy corporate bigwigs. That will equal the death of GW2, and soon.

Time for you to move on your nothing but a troll.

You claim you got a refund and went back to wow so why are you here?
Your like the guy that dumps his girlfriend goes back to your ex then continues to pester and insult the one you just broke up with by telling her how she wasted your time and money.

Your clearly not over GW2. And WoW is obviously not doing it for you…..
Move along bro.

You guys do realize most mmorpg’s you only use 5 buttons anyway. Take wow and rift for example. You may have 100 skills but you at the end of the day in fighting a boss. Only use on average 3-7 buttons if that. Only thing GW2 did was get rid of the useless skills. Say like If you had Lightning Bolt 1. Then when you hit max level you get Grand Lightning. Which is just Lightning Bolt 1 max level.

Don’t confuse depth with a over abundance a million buttons. I’ll give you another classic example. I play rift a cleric in the game. Rotation Bolt of Judgement,Vex, Sanction Heretic etc..The new max level came along BOJ was replaced with another bolt. Vex was replaced with another spells named scourge. What really happen there is the old skills got replace but you still have them. Which gives you a false thinking that you have a lot of choices. Almost every mmo is like that. Like I said GW2 is the first game not to smoke and mirrors it.

It’s not really a matter them getting rid of useless skills it’s them dumbing down combat in general. Rift and wow are horrible examples for comparing in my opinion.

Aion for example has always had a fun combat system. Take this video of a templar (tank class) pvp’ing.

He doesn’t really have too many skills on his bar, aside from buffs and such.

But the beauty of the combat system is that he can pick and choose while hes fighting what skills he should use.

For example if he knocks a player down he is granted a choice to use a powerful attack called break power, its a reactive skill that becomes available on KD that you have to hit within a couple seconds to trigger the attack… or he can use a aoe type attack instead…

Or perhaps he has a shield out and blocks, this triggers 4 new skill options on the fly which could trigger a 5th… they range from a shield stun, and 2 damage/threat increasers and the 4th is a powerful bash that has a chance to KD the opponent which could then trigger the ability to use another skill called break power or the aoe.

Normal attacks also have various options. Using xxx skill triggers 3 more choices 1 is a dps, 1 is a temporary damage absorbtion shield, 1 is a bleed.

Or say the templar gets stunned he again gets the option to break the stun which then triggers other options ranging from defensive to healing.

I could go on but you get the idea. GW2 has no combat depth in that regard.

Heres a few examples from Aion.

I like that games combat’s system… but dislike most everything else about it :P.

Condition Damage vs Critical Damage

in Thief

Posted by: Namu.5712

Namu.5712

Apples and oranges m8.

Crit damage = your burst
Cond damage = steady damage over time provided you keep stacks up.

That being said. Your group may all be able to do bleeds….. bleeds dont stack beyond 25. So if each person in your group is laying down bleed constantly….. well lets just say your dps output is going to be pretty bad because your cond damage is being over thrown by theirs thus those 25 stacks aren’t yours….. or you could build full power crit and do alot more damage per crit compared to what few stacks you may have on a mob/boss fight when everyone else is also putting bleeds on him.

Legendaries for sale?

It’s cool guys. Just be prepared for every single person you meet to assume you bought your legendary from a gold seller or the gem store. No props to you.

Hows that different then them buying all the materials and crafting one? lol fail logic there.

No props to begin with when you can farm/buy everything anyways…

This is the major flaw with GW2 nothing has meaning, because its all easily obtained/farmed/bought. It requires no skill. Just time or money/both.

Legendaries for sale?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Namu.5712

Yup basically if someone has enough gold to pay 700+9k gold then they could have pretty much crafted it themselves….. getting that much gold is just as much a time investment as if they crafted it for themselves.

And if people are complaining that it can be just bought with RL money….. well so what thats their deal, Anet makes money we get more updates and better quality game.

So really the grip is mainly just people that for some reason feel self entitled that if you don’t get it and craft it you shouldn’t be able to have it. Quite silly really.

if you wanted legendaries to be special then they should have made them require skill to get not just a item that can be farmed. Because that doesn’t take skill.

So do you think you get more from slotting SoH for the +25% speed or using that slot for a different utility and using rune of the centaur (and warhorn) for near 100% swiftness uptime?

Don’t forget now that pets are slightly improved in their hitting….. that 25% speed increase affects your pet too…. so not only are you more mobile but so are they.

Healing + OP damage

in Ranger

Posted by: Namu.5712

Namu.5712

and here is the reason why rangers QQ all day because they don’t even bother to find out builds, instead they go on forums to cry about how bad their class is.

The class has severe problems the complaints have been acknowledged as legitimate complaints by Anet themselves. People have not been complaining because they can’t figure out a build its because the core fundementals were broken with the profession…. IE people strafing arrows and taking no damage, pets not being consistant dps when they are supposed to be nearly half your dps output.

That being said stop being kitten about it.

Back on topic…. rangers have always had good regen if you traited for it…. but now since the patch on the 14th their dps is now higher and we can lay down some hurt.

What you are probably seeing is rangers traited in healing spring regen, health regen traited, and health regen signet. And they are probably heavily traited into the toughness tree/healing tree and BM.

Now before this update alot of rangers didn’t really go this route because well due to profession issues as I stated above you hit like a wet noodle and the chances of you killing someone without being traited into a full offensive tree was slim. Especially if your opponent is aware to just keep moving dodging your pet and strafing your arrows at range. This has changed a bit the last patch, you cant really dodge the arrows like before and the pet is on your kitten especially with the 25% speed buff.

TLDR: Rangers now have a bit more versitality as they can rely on their pets actually doing something to someone moving, and our arrows cant just be side stepped now…. allowing for more defensive builds around healing/toughness.

PS: they probably used invuln…. where the pet takes all the damage for them for several seconds. Which is more then enough time to turn the tide of a fight even 2v1 or more.

This is a great idea. I don’t think there should be any stat boost. It would just be a vanity option, like how legendary weapons are: no better than exotics currently. Although it would be weird to “craft” a pet.

You don’t have to craft it. Its not a weapon, its a living thing that fights with you perhaps for rangers to get a legendary pet they have to track it down, and do a bunch of things in order for the legendary pet to agree to fight with….. lots of possibilitys

So hope your friends are legit.

Every profession is pretty pigeon holed build wise. There a very few builds that are competitive…. sure you can roll with a different build you think is good…. but reality is there is a very distinct setup for each profession. Thats my problem…. there is no way to really deviate and create your own style of play and still be competitive you are pretty much forced to run certain builds depending on your profession.

Which is something I thought they were trying to avoid. I think the lack of skill selection for weapons plays a big part in this.

Any chance you could tell us what % of the Ranger class you feel the pet should be accounting for with their DPS? Is it supposed to be a 70/30 split or 50/50? Next to nothing? etc.

Just trying to get an idea of what the designers feel the class should be capable of and what it’s currently doing.

I don’t remember where, but there was an ANET employee stating that the pet should account for about 45% of the Ranger’s DPS, which seems to be supported by some rough dps number crunching.

Someone in the Ranger forums said that our ranged dps was behind engineers by at least 50%, which would support the ANET’s ‘pets=~45% of ranger dps’ (paraphrasing).

Well that’s completely asanine then. It shouldn’t be any more than 20% of the class’ total damage. And that’s assuming pets actually worked as planned. Considering the sorry state they’re in, and considering how even ANet approaches pets as an afterthought (Pet dies, just switch to the other and hope the new one can live for 30 seconds so you can repeat, what an amazing mechanic to base a class around…) this class is such a dead end.

It is my opinion that if a pet is to account for nearly 50% of our dps that they have survivability to not die in one hit on certain boss’s or get rolled by agony in fractals. And also be reliable in other ways. Which they seem to be working on.

We too readily chalk it up to human nature and fail to see that aspects of game culture can be influenced by game design. Consider another element of game design where it’s easy to see like competitive vs. non-competitive resource nodes or quests. WoW and GW2 create a very different feeling around seeing other players on the map. In one game you are happy to see other players, in the other your own faction members can be your worst enemies. I’ll leave it to you to discern the elements introduced in GW2 that could be contributing to bad behavior in dungeons.

There are none, because everyone gets the same amount of loot, regardless of whose there.

There is ZERO reason to kick someone at the end, there is nothing brought on by how GW2 dungeons work to promote that behavior. The only reason for someone to kick someone is because they are simply being mean and nasty.

You are clearly trying to make a underhanded jab regarding the new content at Anet.

Full servers, when/how to add some

We don’t need more servers. What we need is for players who don’t logon for a few months to be removed from the server so others can get in. Put them in limbo so if they ever do play again then they can just be forced to choose a server same as we did firt time we played the game.

it doesn’t work like that. they aren’t full due to the amount of accounts on the server at the time they are full due to the amount logged in at the time.

Otherwise servers would be full 24/7, not drop down to very high or high during the week at off peak hours…. which they currently do.

A game’s success or failure only relates to the amount of income it generates. Game companies allocate resources based on the revenue they get out of it. With no subscription GW2 relies on sales of the game itself and ongoing cash sales via the Gem Shop. 1,000 ppl playing but not spending is worse than 500 playing and spending.

I’m on a so called Full server and it’s not easy in the low level zones to find dungeon groups and really only do events I can solo.. to level my alts and I can go hours without seeing another player. Still, I wouldn’t say the game is dying but I’d say it’s disappointing overall.

Ya people aren’t in low level areas so much. Theres no reason to be.

Found this on a website, guess it answers your question

Severs pop status is calculated based on accounts per server, not people playing.

Thats not true. During primetime some are full while others are not depending on the servers peak players.

So a server may be at high during 12pm- to 5pm then from 5pm to 9pm be at full status drop off.

That right there pretty much proves your statement is false. Otherwise population status wouldn’t flux on a hourly basis and be reflected in the server selection.

This is what happens when level 35 content extends to level 80 players. While the idea was good on paper… players are what make it a horrible concept. Not 80? dont expect to run anything period in this game unless its with your guild… other then that good luck.

They tried to make the game open to all by letting low levels participate with high levels in content but it had a reverse effect only resulting in anger. Fotm was introduced…. you can run it before 80…. knowing this players try to get groups before being 80 only to be harshly rejected and subjected to rude behavior. This was a major oversight on Anet’s side of things. And it fractures the player base on a daily basis. Then on top of that the leveling system for progression on FotM is a double whammy. Not only do you have to be 80 but you have to be the same progression level.

I would like to say it was a simple mistake… but it follows a trend of poorly implemented good ideas. They need someone on the Anet team that can foresee these problems when they get good ideas and counter them before damage is done to the player base due to insufficient foresight.

Don’t know how much time I spend in runs rezing glass cannon pure dps people…. warriors and thieves are especially known for this crap….. ya sure they hit for alot but as soon as they miss a dodge and get hit its GG now the group is kittened trying to res you.

While tank and heal builds aren’t used in the traditional sense they are still needed to support the group, doesn’t mean they can’t dps at the same time.

Well, I am in a downed state as much as the next guy, but that doesnt mean I am standing in the fire like a noob, or I am specced as glass cannon. I work in survivability into my traits.

I’m sorry but, when ever I run a dungoen with someone claiming to be build for Tanking or Support, we always end up dying.

But whenever I party with friends who know how to coordinate Control and Support skills while contributing in Damage with me, We Always end up pulling it off well as a team.

Jee… I wonder why?

Did I say anything about traditional tanking? No I didn’t.

Tanky builds I refer to are people that dont stack everything into power/precision. They are people that have traited into toughness and maybe vit, and their gear isn’t straight beserkers.

Same goes for a more support heal role from like a elementalist who is still dishing out loads of damage but switching to say water attunement here and there to nullify heavy melee damage then switching back to their big dps.

Players have adopted the mind set of anything other then a warrior or guardian sucks for pve. and if you aren’t dps built you hurt the group. Might not be the case on your server but I see it all day. Sitting in group….. do we want a ranger? Group: no try and get another warrior or something that actually does dps…. lol right.

I can’t help but chuckle when I read people saying stuff like ‘they already said in the AMA they are going to do this or that.’ You all are cheap dates. You may recall they said a whole lot of stuff leading up to release that is all out the window now. It doesn’t matter to me what they say at this point, I will never believe them again. That’s the thing about trust. It’s hard to earn, easy to lose and kitten near impossible to get back when you do lose it. They have lost my trust and I could not in good conscience recommend the game to anyone without warning them that it’s just another gear grinder MMO now.

How was it earned??? By you watching PR videos leading up to release? lol please.

Thats like going out on a date with a guy you have heard about and him whispering sweet nothings in your ear all night.

Its not a gear grinder mmo, its almost like you want it to be just so you can sit there satisfied that you were right… but basing your opinion on things that have yet come to pass….. well its a bit ignorant dont you think. Them adding ONE tier of gear does not make this a gear treadmill. Now if in 4-6 months they come out with another tier pat yourself on the back. but until that happens… well.

Yes, I would. This game release with far fewer bugs then recent titles have for many years…

This notion that a game has to be perfect and bug free at release is rubbish. And the people in here saying things like oh they release new content they don’t care about broken bugs…. ya well little do you know its not as simple as grabbing a bug and fixing the problem. None of you stating such things have no idea the amount of systems and complex coding involved with a game like this…. its not as simple as oh look this npc isn’t talking going in and flipping a switch lol.

They also have seperate teams… content creation and the people working on fixing bugs… its only logical to deduce that the team creating new content keeps working on new content while the guys assigned to fix bugs work on their assignment. Throwing 10 devs at a problem doesn’t mean it will get fixed any faster then the 2-3 devs that are solely assigned to fix the problem.

I beta test 3d software, and I will tell you right now when I bug something the dev in charge of that system be it rendering, preview, modeling etc etc. Tackles the bug himself… having the other devs from other areas would likely complicate his work and time to fix the bug.

Some of you need to get off your high horses and try walking a mile in other peoples shoes. because no one is perfect.

You want a buggy mess? Try playing wow…. I remember at launch you couldn’t play for days at a time because it was so broken. New xpac…. ya might as well not login for a day or two as servers were likely to be broken and down for maintance for 24 hours or more…. yet its the most popular game in the world….. makes billions off sub fees…. yet they can’t get maintance and new patches going smoothly….. and you harp on Anet for the few bugs it has that aren’t even that bad lol.

If I get them, I get them. But Fractals are a fun instance that I can play while casually working towards something. It gives me something to accomplish and is hardly a grind or a treadmill when it’s fun and entertaining.

I would just ignore Apathy he is either trolling or very dense. The info is out there he is just ignoring facts and making up what he thinks is going to happen just to spread more angst in the community.

I’m the dense one?

I am literally quoting the Lead Designer, what the hell more do you want?

Your qouting a lead designer that made statements from how long ago? How bout recent events…. how about you go educate yourself on recent happenings, namely the interview just this week which pretty much threw everything you speculated about on page one 100% false. yet you continue to act like thats whats happening?

They very clearly told the community why the change, and that it was meant to be there from the start of the game… they also say that ascended gear will become available over the course of a full year….. then they say there is no planned higher tier gear for the forseeable future.

Yet you insist that its incorrect information, or perhaps you didn’t bother reading what was said this week and continue on with the doomsday posts.

oh yes, of course they would say it was meant to be there. its called DAMAGE CONTROL. two words anet fanboys need to become accustomed to.

LOL meant to be there. yes, and the earth’s core is made of cheese.

Well nothing is keeping you here, if you don’t want to believe anything they say from here on out thats on you…. you don’t pay a sub fee, you got 3 months worth of great gameplay. if you are that enraged and untrusting go get your refund and go about your business I am not sure where this snarky attitude is needed. Its not like your forced to do anything.

It is a game after all.

yes, a game sold on one notion only to be changed into another. the other being something they said they’d never do.

anet fanboys suffer from battered wife syndrome. keep coming back on those empty promises. i think anet failed long ago. no wonder 2 of the original 3 left. says something dont it.

I didn’t say it doesn’t. I am saying if you hate it so much and what its becoming, put your big boy/girl pants on be a grown up and walk away. Or is it that you lack the mental fortitude to control your own choices in life and would rather blame someone else for your lack of control and choices?

Thats like an obese person that eats nothing but big macs all day blaming mcdonalds for his lack of control and not changing his lifestyle.

Sitting on the forums will not change a thing. They will do what they are going to do and there is nothing anyone can do about it, you can make suggestions but ultimately its just a suggestion.

Carrying on with how you were lied to or cheated or how the game is now going to be a gear treadmill…. well it really is nothing more then a waste of your time.

Apathy-
“And then the thing between Ascended and legendaries comes out.

And then the thing after legendaries

And then the thing after that.

And it’s just an endless grind that becomes obsolete in 6 months."

So what part of that did I miss?

It is a game after all.

the stat progression, as mild as it is, is in opposition to their original intent.

and the reason why it changed, is still unknown to us;
most players like this ?
somebody forced them ?

hard to say.

Its not unknown they stated it very clearly this week in the interview. They said they will not be catering to just one specific type of players, but will focus on filling both player types expectations.

It really blows my mind how many people fail to gather and read information. They are not marketing and catering to people that want no progression they are not marketing and catering to people that want progression. They are finding a middle ground to satisfy both crowds.

Perhaps a little patience is in order from the community so see how it further developes…. or is that too much to ask?

So, I’m pretty angry right now.

I spent a lot of time, effort, energy, and gems into acquiring my two and a half exotic sets. I understood this to be an investment because, like GW1, this gear wouldn’t become obsolete.

With the implementation of Ascended gear, I’ve realized that this wasn’t the case. All of the gear that I so painstakingly earned and bought is now obsolete. I’ve realy worked for nothing.

I love the idea of horizontal progression – like GW1, working towards extra skins and other non-combat ways to differentiate your character. I feel chated, lied to, and deceived.

I would like a refund for my gems and for my exotic gear. Or, I would like them transmuted into Ascended gear.

Given exotics are still the “best-in-slot” available for everything except rings and back, how is your current set obsolete? The new ascended tier will be released over time, so you will still get some use out of the gear you have worked hard to obtain before you need to think about upgrading.

And then the thing between Ascended and legendaries comes out.

And then the thing after legendaries

And then the thing after that.

And it’s just an endless grind that becomes obsolete in 6 months.

Right, people like you are whats making these forums worse and worse.

They said they should have had ascended at release. But clearly it wasn’t implemented yet. They go on to say that there will be no new gear for the forseeable future, and that the rest of ascended will take like a year before you can even get the full set.

But keep on keepin on with your doomsday gear treadmill propaganda.

What is Causing People Not To Play GW2?

When this first game came out the first month it was a blast, but had lots of bugs and crashes, so i stopped playing for a couple of weeks until they fixed a few things.

Now i come back playing in Nov and no body is around ppl are being a bit kitteny and lots of area’s are empty.

I’ve died total of 150 times on two characters only who are lvl 36 and 20.

Is it GW2 or just ppl are bored already?

When the game first came out everyone was still leveling m8. Of course there were lots of populated areas.

Now you come back 3 months in where people have several level 80’s there is no reason to be out on the maps. The only places you will see massive amounts of players are high level areas like Orr, event farming, killing dragons in events. Outside of dungeons like AC, CoF etc etc.

Like I said in another thread. its 10am monday morning…. 7 servers are full the rest are High status.

Alot of people are playing still, but they are all in specific areas. Namely, Mists for sPVP | Lions Arch for various reasons (LA was always packed before FoTM even existed just for the record) | ORR doing events | Dungeon entrances | Dragon Events | And a TON in WvWvW maps…. thats where the majority is most of the time.

So in short no servers aren’t dieing or dead, people are doing specific things now that they are 80 and the game has been out 3 months. Every now and then you will see people out farming in maps or getting 100% completion for their legendary. Other then that don’t expect to see many unless its in an area I mentioned above. But the people are there.

You quit while you had two characters not even level 40 yet…. you came back to a game where a good amount of the population has 4+ level 80’s. It should be no surprise that you see no one around.

Ok… or the game is dying and inactive. 2m sales is a commercial fail for any game in todays market.

I’d guess there is around 400k active players at the moment.

Yeah, i stopped playing because of too many bugs in the game i had which they didnt’ fixed it at the time and i couldnt’ play it caues of these “Error Crash Reports”. And there are still some bugs out there that need to be fixed. I can understand ppl are at lvl 40 and above right now or 80.

I"m still seeing the same bugs in the past 2-4 months ago.

Doesn’t change the fact that the worlds are populated… very much so. They just aren’t populated in low level areas. Thats all I was saying.

WvW maps are still full, people are still doing dungeons, massive amounts of people in Orr running events and farming etc etc.

And what bugs caused you to quit? I haven’t run into any so bad that I need to quit…. not everything is a simple fix either.

I see no dead servers. People are simply doing other things… which don’t require… a good majority of the world in GW2.

When a server is full 24/7 how does that translate to dead in your opinion I am oh so curious. Why do you base your opinion around a market value that has ZERO to do with in game activity?

When I login I can pretty much find people for whatever it is I want to do, be it WvW, spvp, dungeons, FotM….. etc etc. So again I ask you how does that translate to a dead game.

You must only look at your server because there are quite a few dead servers. And sorry but NO server is full 24/7 and no you haven’t checked all servers.

If they ever showed active people logging on from day of launch till now, the line will be heading downward and not by a gradual fall, a steep decline from launch till now.

Really? because blackgate is… SoS has been….TC, SBI….. JQ…. some of these servers drop to high during the day… then back to full long before primetime and into the morning like 9am.

So again. How is that a dead server? And thats more then just one server.

When servers start dropping to low and medium then you will have something to go on…. but when all servers are High or Full throughout the week no matter the time…. well im gonna go with game not dying.

And of course not as many people login compared to launch…. this is no different from any other game. When will people learn that launch is not what you go by numbers wise… the sheer number of people just trying it out are huge…. People seem to lack common sense.

Also this game lacks progression of any type at endgame, so people naturally wont login as much. When your 80 have all your gear you basically dont have anything to do besides WvW and spvp…. or leveling alts…. sorry thats the truth of it. But there are still thousands on at any given time. There are still people doing things. I can login at anytime of the day and do something.

Why are Legendary Equipment Tied to WvW???

WvW isn’t considered PvP by arenanet… its pve in their eyes…. they have said this time and time again.

They have also said its not meant to be balanced around gear multiple times…. thats what spvp is meant for.

Not sure why people haven’t quite gotten to terms with this…

How many here are playing less? And why?

I actually play more. I was bored, most of my guild quit prior to lost shores because the game offers no progression what so ever…. we were a WvWvW guild very hardcore pvp’ers actually… but there was just no player progression for doing what you like to do. So our guild officially dropped GW2 and went back to LoL. Now they are curious again since Lost shores has been added, as it shows Anet is acknowledging that some form of progression is needed or people are going to quit regardless…. because once you have done it all… doing it repeatedly for really no reason other then just to do it creates boredom. When you add a goal then people come back… many in my guild are coming back and playing more now. They are apparently adding progression to WvW of some type im sure that will bring even more of my guild back.

So in short I play more now, because there is actually something to work towards.

Formal statement from ANet?

Anet has already demonstrated that they are not interested in debating or discussing these issues further. They closed other threads, including the “big one,” without so much as a clarifying comment. That’s who they are, and if you thought otherwise, their actions have now spoken louder than words.

The big thread was nothing but people fighting. It was to the point where it was not even a productive discussion. Did you really need a reason for them to close it? Thought it was pretty obvious why it was closed…. I requested it be closed like 2 weeks ago… im sure others did the same because it really was a disgusting thread that was not a civil discussion anymore.

Also they have demonstrated that they are interested in discussing things…. otherwise there would not be a interview today on reddit…. stop omitting things just because you are bitter and mad. You only see what you want to see is basically whats going on here.

They have to be very careful what they say, just because they haven’t responded in your chosen time frame doesn’t mean they don’t care. Quite the opposite im sure.
