The only people who complain about turrets and low to mid level players, that tourney is aimed at low to mid level players…. even you have to admit it seems a little dirty even if its not on purpose.

Depends on what build we are talking about I suppose. I use wop A LOT on power builds. I take it just so I don’t have to use energy sigils.

I can do whatever I want. I have the option to yell at you for using a crap build and double capping points. You have the option of ignoring me. What one takes more effort?

Holl I think warlock just means using it more using it more due to its low cooldown and burning it when your getting pressured after burning your offensive cooldowns. Being able to use it as a stomp technique is extremely useful and rare in necros but it shouldn’t be the focus of the skill.

WOP is one of our strongest skills in pvp. Doesn’t need anything.

Good luck eating lupicus kicks to the face (and being launched out of position, screwing up the melee stack for the group) in death shroud because you don’t have enough endurance unless you use energy sigils or non-dps food while the rest of the classes have easy access to vigor or endurance refunds. I don’t think this guy understands how much damage PvE mobs do you can’t eat mechanics in PvE or you die regardless of what class you are without dodges.

Don’t answer my points with pvp concerns they need to split skills, I won’t tolerate 2 years of misery for the sake of pvp people.

Signets and spectrals are virtually useless in PvE.

They balance the game around pvp…… sorry bro…. it is what it is though! the ENTIRE game can function with balancing around pvp. If they balanced on pve the other two game modes would be utterly broken.

sort of. condi bunker rangers are now near the bottom as well in the cele meta. you cant do 1v1’s against PU mesmers, cele eles and shout bows. well played necros are way better just due to their mobility and hard CC from the fear spam.

Mesmer and necro are just very high skill cap in current meta, but both profs are competitive, unlike the power ranger. we just don’t see a lot of skilled necros and shatter mesmers.

with the ranger, no matter how hard you push glassbow, it’s just missing…something. I wouldn’t mind if they added another resource to manage to increase the skillcap, but atm power ranger is low skillcap and pretty much completely shut down by good thieves, and generally outplayed by other glass like the medi guard. glassbows cant really stomp or stay on point, and have mediocre mobility.

(comment about glassbow assumes the ranger is not permitted to freecast, which will never, EVER happen in a competitive or semi-serious conquest environment. glassbows seem strong to scrubs because of freecasting)

so in conclusion I think Mesmer and necro are actually in a much better spot than quite a few other specs out there (usually non-cele). it’s just that there are so few good players in those categories that we feel they belong in the bottom tier, which isn’t accurate.

They really just shouldn’t allow premades anymore…… they should force everyone to soloq it’s not fair they always g3t g00d teemmates and I g3t all level 1s whIle they are all level 80 with lejundaries doing more damage than my team, I can’t even get my teemates to cap a point with me everytime I try they leave the point with just me on it, if they just stayed we could cap the point twice as fast

He doesn’t think any of the people who win the esls or go4s or WTS are any good, apparently there is a bunch of players In wvw that are the best pvpers in game but they just don’t care enough about conquest so we will never see them in pvp tournaments.

They could give us one stack of stability and make it a longer duration, which would bring it up. It all depends on how they balance all stability skills, but I would look more into it if they made this change.

Perhaps in spvp a longer duration would be helpful. Extending this to wvw it is not, 1 stack will not suffice.

games balanced around spvp. In wvw the difference between 1 stack and 10 in a zerg fight is nothing….. in smaller scale it becomes closer to spvp.

Why don’t we wait to see how it changes before anyone decides whatever…. I get that people are all excited about the expansion and new skills and things changing and what not but I hate all this speculation bullkitten.

Any class that isn’t cele ele, cele engi, or Shoutbow warrior. Those 3 are the top… everything else seems pretty close to me. Maybe throw theif in there too.

yes, and i do this sometimes although in a lot of cases it isnt as effective as the ctd damage boost. gaining stab in ds makes sense in that ds is supposed to be our go to damage mitigation mechanic, but there arent really any skills in ds that benefit from the stab. life transfer maybe but more often then not it simply gets dodged. now if we could use our heal and utility skills in ds… that would be something.

Well if your going to use fitg you either use it to flash so you can stay in close with daggers or to get off a lifeblast…. but with a fitg build I find its better to flash and keep hitting with daggers since your not Garuntee to crit and you get more out of it by flashing for retal stab and fury.

That all being said I don’t recommend that playstyle…. and I wouldn’t recoment fitg.

I think alot of us try weird builds all the time…. we won’t take them into ranked though….. People don’t always cut and paste from metabattle…. alot of the time they are using a build for a specific purpose….

Medi guard, SD theif, and mesmers outta nowhere seem to hit me the hardest

I think the only other great necromancer I’ve seen in-game was Supcutie, simply because he positioned correctly and used fear as an interrupt instead of opening with it.

He played a little necro…. but he positioned like a mesmer while playing necro…. he just wasn’t doing enough with it though…. mes is more effective at the positioning dps game than necro due to its ports and invuln.

People like to criticize necro play in higher tiers due to the tendency to get themselves in bad situations without teammates to help or just dark pathing into the middle of a fight….. this is where I differ from some people who day positioning is key…. but as a necro you do occasionally have to do the same thing a shatter mesmer does when he uses gs2 and illusionary persona to shatter right on you the problem is if you don’t have a wurm or didn’t use swalk before “suiciding” you are going to die…. especially if you don’t have teammates that are used to peeling for a necro (I think most people are utterly clueless on how to help a necro teammate).

On that note any chance you I could find out where I’m at mmr wise, been seeing some more higher level players and my games have been fantastically competitive and balanced think I may be in my sweet spot.

Well its not the class mechanic…… you can say it’s a problem all you want but they aren’t getting rid of DS.

Well for me the problem is our inability to deal with hard CC which our high health pool is supposed to help mitigate…. I would be xtremely happy with more access to stab or some sort of block/reflect. For better or worse it looks like something is going to change with it.

Harsh….. if op is new I doubt he would be able to play dd ele and he would probably melt as a medi guard. Warrior is pretty forgiving for a new player.

Scores dont mean doo doo. Pay less attention to scores and more on the game, where your teammates are where and what classes your enemies have etc.

You forgot rule 6 – destroying an unmanned enemy trebuchet is more important than capping points and should be done by someone built for condition damage asap. Duh.

My favorite is when I’m on a condi necro and the other team is trebbing and I ask if my team can go take care of it and they tell me too =( so they just get to treb all game.

It used to have the CD whenever you pressed the button. So if you were kicked out of it you didn’t have a CD. Had some interesting interactions, but I don’t know that it really made a healthy difference in most builds.

My MMR is fine. I have frands with very high MMR who still get matched up with these same players. You can factor in decay, but I didn’t decay climb.

Technically you and your friends have no way at all of knowing what your mmr is. So you can’t really make the claim that your or your friend’s mmr is high or fine or anything.

Yes I can. I floated between top 1000 and 92% under the old leaderboard that was strictly MMR based.

When I played alot in old leaderboards I was in top 100, still wouldn’t say I was good and I doubt my mmr was really that good anyway….. I do wish we could check it though…. I’ve been seeing alot more high level players lately.

No screenshots, but I calculated that an 8k lifeblast on a 3k armor target was quite possible, and for that matter, even on the lower end of some circumstances. Haven’t double-checked since the Might nerf, but I suspect it is still quite possible.

It absolutely is. Granted, it’s either coming from a pretty bad build overall or might from other sources, but I think people genuinely underestimate how much damage this class can deal in PvP environments relative to the rest of the classes.

Frankly, if LF was maintainable in boss PvE, the necro would probably be taken over thieves.

It’s because Guardians and eles don’t have access to quite as many condis in short time spans. To make up for the lack of condi spam guard and ele get high burning uptime.

Guardians specifically can keep burning up nearly 100% of the time. I ran into a burn guard last night who was running doom and geo sigils, probably balth runes, against my necro. I couldn’t keep the burns off me even with condi transfers and consume conditions. It was kind of nutty.

We are talking about burn durations and not cover conditions. IP isn’t hideous considering without p/p you have a ~6s gap of burn application.

your talking about conditions. You don’t get to just focus on that and not this….. not how balance works.
