4 tickets seems spot on. Buy offers for e.g. the sword have dropped from 900g and above last week to 400g and below this week. That makes these returning skins worth approximate 100g/ticket, which is roughly the value of BL tickets for coveted skins, upon introduction. (Many recent skins have been worth far less, but then they haven’t been praised as much as the Fused skins, even though I’m not a fan myself.)

And what of the Zodiac skins? Some of those were well over 1000g also, yet when they were re-introduced, they dropped drastically. The longbow, for example, dropped from nearly 2000g to where it is now at under 200g.
The 4 ticket price is just gouging based on the upcoming living story location. If we were headed into the northern shiverpeaks, it would be totally different.

I saw that. Went through the whole list 3 or 4 times. Also did a search in the wardrobe for “zenith” skins and the Recurve is definitely greyed out.

I filed a ticket with support, but my experience with them has been somewhat random.

I’d say necro/reaper easily. I have a Rev/Herald, and just don’t like it that much. Necro/reaper, in my opinion, is just a lot of fun to play.
I play a “wells” build specifically with only the flesh golem as a minion. Staff/GS for weapons. Easy enough to do a decent amount of solo stuff. I’m sure there are dozens of people on the forum that will claim it’s a “no skill” class, but I find that skill/practice does make a difference.

Its interesting to see that certain items are already vanishing in large amounts on the trading post. Bay leaves and vials of enchanted water are already being bought up in large amounts and reddit is speculating on if this is the sign, this time around, of some people with fore-knowledge of recipes in the fire isles content.

Similarly, there are reports of those useless slaying sigils (eg plus ten percent damage vs dredge) being snapped up.

It could be speculation, but a heck of a lot of bay leaves are moving – tens of thousands of them and that’s a lot of effort for a mere hunch.

Can guarantee you that a lot of those purchases are being made by trolls looking to deliberately derail the thread on reddit.

edit: case and point. If you look at Bay Leaves on the TP, the price has gone up drastically, as one might expect with a case of “insider trading”, however if you look closer at the buy orders, it is clear as day that the prices are being artificially inflated.

A long while back, there was a bug in World vs. World in which a mesmer could easily be separated from their clones visually because the mesmer him/herself displayed the world completion icon, while the clones did not.

For world vs. world, this was fixed.

This bug has resurfaced in the Guild Hall Arenas. Mesmer clones are easily distinguishable from the primary because world completion icons/etc. are absent from clones.

They’d rather put more effort in complaining for change then to put in effort to improve themselves as a player. Frankly, I would agree with those of you who feel that way, and I do see the value of that. In my line of work, it wouldn’t be the best thing. But for most players, yep, it’s something I believe could make a good QoL change.

It’s actually gotten quite funny. There are usually so many mesmers that the top of a puzzle is a pool of purple half the time. Daily JP’s are some of the most fun I’ve had with my mesmer in a long time.

I started during the first Halloween event, so my earliest memories are running around thinking how silly it was that you could mine Candy Corn.

One of the significant “noob” memories I have has to have come later in the game for me. It’s odd though because I still feel like I was new, but the circumstances dictate that I had spent at least a few months in game.
I did most of my exploration with my main character, a human ranger, yet this one memory that stands out was discovering the brand. I think it was Iron Marches where this happened. I remember seeing the edge of the brand, and the faint purple curtain that surrounds it, thinking “what sort of damage am I going to take if I cross through that?”.

What I’m saying is that despite my frustration, there’s no long term, practical impact on the vast majority of gamers. There’s always someone in every economy (RL or game) that stretches the rules or exploits a mechanic to gain an advantage not available to everyone else. But the GW2 economy is so huge that it dwarfs the effects of folks using insider information to make lucrative trades.

Ok, so let’s go with that for a bit. When do we start allowing other things to slip through? Where is the line then drawn? People will scream “why are you punishing us for x when insider trading is allowed?”.
It needs to be stopped. If anyong was making thousands of gold off an unfair advantage ANY other way, Anet would permanently ban them in a heartbeat.

I think the best solution to all this would be for Anet to simply be open with the player base about what they intend to change. Send out the info when it hits any sort of distribution outside of Anet. Let the investors fight over it at that point. As it stands currently, people are profiting thousands of gold off information that they shouldn’t have. They have an unfair advantage in that they are free and clear to invest and such with little to no competition with others on the TP (as opposed to patch day when thousands of people will jump on opportunities).

This suggestion is at the top end of my list of requested QoL items. The lists simply need to be collapsed at opening. For the way I use the crafting system, it simply would make things much faster, without having to mess with the filters or search queries.

Southson has “harder” mobs, it didn’t really work. And Karka shells, blood and passion flowers all sell for decent amount as loot.

Personally, I;d rather all maps were filled in and filled in fully. The more they put in a map, the more active and long term that maps life will be. Otherwise a whole zone just gets thrown to waste for very little gain.

Part of the problem there is the size of the gaps. They are too small to really make something complete out of. So I figure just throw in relevant terrain, and tough mobs.

Some forum posters have stated their desire to have “hard” areas of the game, where all the base mobs are vets, and the vets are elites, etc.
Other forum posters have wanted, for the sake of OCD, to have gaps in the map filled.

How about filling in the gaps (like the large area between Sparkfly and Timberline) with areas that could be deemed “dense forest” or something similar?

No Dynamic Events, no POI’s, no Waypoints, no Vistas, none of the usual fluff, just landscape and tough mobs (trying to minimize the workload on the devs). Rewards could scale properly and such if needed.

While it does take some dev involvement, it would be a solution that a number of players would like for different reasons, and it wouldn’t impact world completion of any region, as the zones would not have any sort of completion factors.

The drop rate is stupid. If the OP harvested over 500 corals, they should have gotten the required amount. The very idea that a player needs to have multiple characters parked or ready to harvest a single item is pathetic. I am not one of them, but there are people in game who like to play on just one character. Forcing them to create alts is just more typical Anet “content extension” and gem store sales psychology.

No one forced them to use alts. They OPTED to use alts in order to speed up a process that is INTENDED to be long.

That is correct. Only “hard core” players can access Spirit Shards in HoT zones. The rest of the player base, whether they paid for HoT or not, is stuck with Core Tyria only.

The range is pretty silly. Especially since they can pelt you with rocks from a long distance below, yet when you land, they are still well out of aggro range.

I had to do gathering in Mt. Maelstrom (three nodes in the south east) for 3 hours with 9 characters. It happens eventually, but it will take time. Yes, it’s dumb.

This was a decent size patch when using the old release time scale. I’m kinda surprised that there is so little content considering how long it took to get out.
As for the map being “vertical” being equal to being a large map.. no. I accidentally finished map completion on it within the first few hours. Wasn’t even trying. Just doing basic exploration and chasing events.
It’s a great map. Well done for the Living Story, but it is definitely also small.

Not really happy about the amulet changes, as I don’t think they were needed.

Not giving a laurel refund however was a deliberate decision on their part I think. It forces thousands of players who are low on laurels to log in once a day to advance their login rewards to build up enough laurels to replace what they had taken from them. Thus allowing anet to fluff up their “daily unique login” numbers for investors.
More of the same used car salesman sham tactics that have been so pervasive in this game from the start.

RNG is fine where it is. At best it needs to be taken down several notches to give players more feeling of progression. Doesn’t mean it shouldn’t take an average amount of time to get a given item, just means that there shouldn’t be a chance it would take an obscene amount of time to get an item.

Speaking of demanding evidence… Do you have some insider information that proves Anet has “slacked off” on Diminishing Returns?

The evidence I look at is that A) Players are affected by DR, and There are still plenty of bots.

And no, bots making adjustments to avoid DR will not make them more detectable. That is a fantasy. The kind of adjustments they make to accommodate DR would likely make them harder to detect. Instead of running mindlessly in a circle, they farm for 20minutes, then teleport via waypoint to a different map, go to a location, and farm there. Automatically. Only now they look even more like legitimate players.

DR is ineffective, and only punishes honest players. There has been plenty of evidence over the years to prove that DR does nothing to stop botters.

Botters spend so much time doing their thing that it would be a simple task for the creators to look at data to know exactly when DR hits. In fact they probably know just as much about DR as Anet does. So they simply adjust their bot programs to take advantage of it. The result is that the only people who are hurt by DR are the normal player base.

Was looking through value on various holiday items I have stored, and came across something on GW2 Efficiency that caught my attention.

On July 1st 2016 at 1:26 (timezone not known), the supply of Wintersday Gifts was 44,089

by 7:08 (roughly 6 hours later), the supply was 107,434.

Wonder why.

Basic no frills answer: Extra health and attacks for necromancers.

A little more info: Unlike your regular health, you have “life force” when in Death Shroud. It’s different in that it depletes while you are in death shroud. (think of going into death shroud like the necromancer takes on a spectral form).
You can lose life force faster if you are taking damage (note: you do not lose actual health HP when in death shroud, only life force). Some actions will regain life force (killing a foe for exmaple). You can regain life force while you are in death shroud, but also while you are not in death shroud.

As a necro, I used death shroud for it’s life syphon skills, and it’s auto attack. I also used is a last resort button when my actual health was getting really low.

The necromancer specialization “Reaper” has what is sometimes called Reaper Shroud. It is the same thing as death shroud, but has different skills.
