I want to see more glider options, but fewer back piece wing sets.

I am against this, but if it was to be implemented I would only want it similar to the current shared inventory slots, where it is optional. I have several sets of permanent tools, and some I purchased because they fit well with the “theme” of a given character on my account. I don’t want that taken away.

Whether it be spirit shards or something of similar value, I’d like to see the progression return. It’s not necessarily frustrating, but there is a sense of “this is getting me nowhere” when your XP counts for nothing. It is frustrating when finishing these events and you get the fake loot that just disappears into nothing because you’re already maxed out on XP. It would be nice if at least the books were an item in inventory that you could double click at a later time (assuming Anet ever adds more tyrian mastery points).

Except that when that one “in-demand” skin drops, you have to have enough money to pay the fines for selling via the trading post, just to be able to sell it.

This idea is pretty basic. On the mini-map, ore nodes have icons. When you mouse over them, it will tell you if it is a standard node or a rich node (this means that the markers have that data already associated with them).

Could the icon for rich nodes be different from normal nodes? Maybe outline it in cyan or something?

Collect every skin of a given weapon type.
Collect every skin of an ascended stat type (in my case, build one of each of the wupwup (celestial) ascended weapons. Only 5 to go on this one).
Have a balance of over 10,000gold without having to use gem to gold conversion.

I’ve stopped playing that particular character because that 12 copper ore is in a bugged state. I tried to sell it roughly half an hour after the bug report, and it still didn’t get removed from inventory. I could probably delete it, but being that it’s broken, I figure I will leave it in hopes that the devs can look at it.

I list on the TP for 1 copper less than lowest sell order. I click “ok” and..

Thinking I miss-judged my original amount of copper, I place 12 copper on the TP at the lowest sell offer.

I have 12 copper ore in my inventory, and 15silver waiting to pick up. I take note of the quantity on the by order, and sell 12 copper ore to the buy order.

I have 12 copper ore in my inventory, and 30 silver waiting to pick up, AND the buy order is 12 less than it was previously.

Currently, I have 12 copper ore in my inventory, and I’m not sure what to do with the silver (as it was technically gained unfairly).

Bug report has been submitted, but this is a heavily exploitable issue if anyone finds out how to force it to happen (something I am not aware of, if it even exists). They could take a full stack of an item and wipe out the buy orders completely.

I suspected this issue a while back, but wasn’t sure as it seemed to resolve itself, and I know that it is not only copper ore that this happens with.

Something is definitely wrong with the TP.

edit Closing the TP window and reopening does not fix the problem. I attempted to sell my copper.

edit 2: Relogging did not resolve the issue, nor did changing maps, etc.

Probably the underwater legendaries are the weapons I have seen the least, and I used to spend a lot of time underwater doing the old frostgorge sound champion train, so I have had a lot of opportunity to see them. I have seen kamohaoli’i a few times, kraitkin once or twice and I don’t think I have ever seen anybody using frenzy. That is why my next legendary weapon I make it going to be frenzy!

Worth it, if you ask me.

Hard to tell if thread is serious or not. Adding boons to mobs is a good idea, but seems to me most people here just want to beat their chest about how superior they are to all the other players. First real complaint about the game since returning in November. Dailies are the thing that keep me going into the game. I think I’ve finished my daily every day since I came back in November except while traveling for holidays. But today’s are too much. The jumping puzzle, even with a helpful in-person guide (thank you for those who volunteer to do this), was undoable. It didn’t help that my pet popped back out every time I fell. The camera angles in the puzzles in the narrow cavern tunnels are impossible enough without my pet (which I can’t stow permanently) blocking my view.

So we thought, ok, np. We won’t do the JP today. So we decided to check out the daily activity participation. We look up on the wiki which tells us it’s crab toss. We go to southsun and look for the NPC for 30 minutes. No luck. We go to LA and talk to that activity participation NPC just in case. No luck. What a waste of an hour between the two. I had had enough and just logged out without doing anything else.

Super hard puzzles should not be dailies. If activity participation is a daily, it must WORK.

I done the JP and you know what? Not recognized for dailies, okay fine went to wvw, the shrine dailies, done, you know what? Not recognised as dailies… It was a bad day.

I think the JP was broken. I got to the top today and didn’t get the daily either.

If you’re talking about Scavenger’s Chasm specifically, I went through it last night with a guild-mate and had an odd issue with it. She was able to open the largest chest with only 5 of the 6 orbs required for some reason. Finally realized that the 6th one hadn’t been put in, and got the daily achieve once that was done.
Not sure if that’s what is happening with others, but figured it was worth mentioning.

“give toys swiftness” seems to be the new angle people use to try and promote mounts in GW2.

There are some classes in which I feel powerful while playing. No, I won’t list them because Anet will then nerf them.

Incorrect. This is a private forum run by Arenanet. Within such a forum they have complete control over the topics and what can and can’t be said. Certain types of discussions are prohibited, as listed in the forum rules (RL Politics for example).

When the molten tools came up for sale again recently I bought a set because the Job-o-Tron tools I’d gotten in a bundle a few months ago were driving me insane.

That’s the sad thing about those tools and the backpack. If Anet was organized at all, they’d have coded the things so that each time there was a major update, new lines could be added, thus keeping the tools fresh and new while retaining their original humor.
Same applies to the salvage-o-matics. I normally play with sound off in GW2, so it doesn’t annoy me, but in the times I do have sound on, I quickly get tired of hearing “I was manufactured to the highest standards” (which apparently weren’t very high, as the VA for it sounds like it was thrown together in about 3 minutes).

Some of the no-fly zones seem very odd.

For example, Lasciate Gate in Straits of Devastation is a no-fly zone… but Vizier’s Tower – the actual jumping puzzle – isn’t.

Other than not falling to your death, where is gliding going to help with Viziers tower? It’s a non issue there. It doesn’t open up short cuts or allow skipping of the puzzles “content”.

It’s $10 for a lot of things you don’t need in this game. It’s about convenience, appearance, and having fun.

It should be the job of the company to make it up to their customers. If Amazon has a guaranteed delivery date on an item you ordered, and the order doesn’t meet the guaranteed delivery time, Amazon makes it right via refund, kitten credit, or a free month on your prime membership.

We continually receive nothing from the dev team other than lip service when something they promised wasn’t delivered. Why not at least offer us something to make it right like some gems or some black lion keys, maybe release some of the older LS content for free… give us something!!!

Too many opposing opinions on the whole subject. In the long run, if Anet decided to do anything at all, it would be insultingly small and the forums would light up with posts from people who feel they were shorted yet again.

The only satisfactory solution would be to pull half the team from expansion 2 and redistribute them to LS3, legendaries, and a number of floaters for other needs.

That is my biggest issue with all of this. They horsed around and dangled precursor crafting in front of us to see how we’d react, then when they discovered how much people wanted it they saw a gold mine and decided to hide it behind a paywall. Same thing with new legendary weapons. If they know what is good for them, they will not lock newer ones behind another paywall like expac 2.

Step 1: I choose a name I like via inventing one, or using a random name generator until my mind finds one it likes.
Step 2: I create a last name that flows well phonetically with the first name I chose, in order to greatly increase the chance that what I have chosen is not taken.

Odds and ends: Sometimes I use alliteration. Sometimes I aim for humor (my crazy engineer is an Asura named Batty Belfry). By the time I get to the name screen, I’ve usually got an idea in my mind of how I want a name to sound or what thoughts/feelings I want to invoke with the name.
Example of how names can evoke feelings/affinity, etc.: Tybalt’s name fit his character and personality really well. He’d have been just as popular if his name was Razor Throatripper, but the name would exactly fit his lovable personality.

I understand that not all Asura are cute, but some are just adorable. One in particular will hold out in my memory for a long time.

I’ll preface this by saying that I don’t know what was actually going on, but I could not help but smile at what appeared to be going on.

I was in DR, and while waiting at the bank, I saw this cute little female Asura acting somewhat strange. She had white wings. She was jumping around, running up and down the ramp, stopping, jumping, running in circles…

..and then it hit me. She had just gotten Kudzu, and was simply thrilled with the floral footprints.

Brought back memories when I finally got my first legendary completed. I know a lot of people hate the Dreamer with a passion, but I love the absurdity of it. I have to admit that when they added the lucky horse shoe footfalls, I ran around a bit like a nut for a few minutes too.

What is your experience with obtaining your first legendary? Did you feel accomplished? Giddy? did you run in circles looking at the foot falls? Shoot arrows aimlessly for half an hour to annoy bystanders? Paint the sky with Twilight?

Please… Legendaries are Rewards not content. All the stuff you get to play (content) with the new legendaries is already there and will stay there.

Yet they affect the game just as much. Each of the old legendaries, for example, require a minimum of 250 of each T6 material, if not more (Bifrost requires something like 750 crystalline dust).
Add to this the grindfest that is TII precursor crafting, and legendaries actually have a rather measurable impact on the economy in the game.
I suspect that’s why the new ones got cut. Not enough of a gold sink/not enough of a catalyst to get people to buy gems.

Ever notice that Anet’s attention to things is a lot like a 10yr old with ADD on speed?

First, I have to say that I do not want something like this implemented without it being an option that people can turn off, because I am positive there are people who either A) won’t like the idea, or don’t care for the distraction.

I’d like to seen an audible notification implemented for when food/utility buffs time out. Visually they flash for like the last 10 seconds of their lifespan, but it simply isn’t enough to really grab the attention. A mild, audible tone of some sort that chimes when the item times out would be useful.

It is possible it could be applied to banner buffs as well, but I’m not sure if that would get overboard, but having something audible would be nice, as the visual notifications often get lost if you are in combat and carrying boons/conditions and so on.

The thing missed here is that the rewards overall are continuously compounding. The more MF you have the more rare the items you get, the more rare the items you get the more MF you produce from salvaging that item and it’s ectos as a result, the more you ectos you have produced the lower the price overall of MF and in the end there actually becomes an MF standard for playing because there is indeed a specific amount of MF, unkown to us, that allows you to reliably acquire items of sufficient rarity to continue the cycle.

It is basically economic suicide.

Do please show me where all those rares and exotics are that I’m supposed to be getting. I’ve been salvaging over 100 items per day for nearly a year and I’m still only at 245%MF. I see rares no more often than my account with 75% MF sees them.

MF does not have remotely the effect that you think it does.

A big part of the issue with Wildstar is that they focused on the hardcore players at max level. That left the more casuals with nothing new to do.

Now GW2 is following the same path. They are releasing new raid content which is of interest to a minority of the players, , and is mostly a once a week activity for most of those who actually do play it.

So, why is ANET going down this path? There is nothing wrong with adding raid wings. the problem is when it is the ONLY content being released.

Because “hardcore” players are also the loudest on forums and other platforms, and upper management is convinced that “hardcore” is what is important because they look at the forums and all they see is people whining about the game not being “hardcore” enough.

Displaying the response as text is a good idea. I’ll see what I can get out of that. I suspect that it’s just not getting the data, but will see what turns up. Thx.

Have you tried going into the In-Game Options -> Sound Options and turning down the Environmental Sounds? I just checked to see what that did and it got rid of the steam pipe sound by dragging the bar to the left.

That may work but it’s a kludge and doesn’t address the core issue that frequently used areas should NOT have repetitive violets… I mean, sounds. It’s not right that we have to adjust our interface to the game because life is a trial—I mean, because anet refuses to address the issue that mordemoth can attack the pale tree in the grove..uh, the issue that repetitive sound effects near frequently used facilities can drive a person to establish their prominence.. darn it. As for the airship sounds, my first reaction was “GW2 has sound?”, but overall, yes, the pipe hissing can be annoying and generally reminds me of why I keep sound off in GW2. There is far to much repetition in the audio area of the game.

Magic find is an economic stat. The ramifications of uncapping it could be pretty severe.

I have one account with 250% MF plus food and an amulet, and I have one account with roughly 50% MF that I don’t bother using food on.

The difference is not even noticeable. They both get the same number of greens, yellows, etc.

The impact on the economy would be next to nothing, and only people who grind out an insane amount of MF will see any measurable results.

I’m very new to using JSON, but have do have some limited experience with API’s (worked with the Eve Online API in the past).

So far I have successfully pulled static data off of a file on my hard drive, and displayed it. I have also successfully gone through tutorials on pulling API data from an external source, but when I move to use the GW2 API, things go blank.

Is there some additional code needed to get the data from the GW2 API? Are there any tutorials specific to the GW2 API? It just seems odd that things work fine until I use the sample URL from the wiki.

They really should remove the cap. You’d have to get to 100,000% before it had any real impact.

I find it curious that Anet has this big “sale every day” promotion going on. With hints that they might bring back much anticipated items. Convenient that this massive “sale” is happening right at the end of the first quarter.
They’ve been saving gem store items away so they could trot them out when they needed a financial boost to make their numbers look better.

First, to address what I feel is the reason for this thread. I agree that posting an opinion as an opinion, not fact, is the correct thing to do. I also agree that making sweeping statements isn’t appropriate, for each of us players represents ourselves, not the community at large.

Problem is on these forums you invariably get throngs of ‘clever’ posters attacking any opinion as ‘illogical’ or whatever other buzzword they’ve latched on to. Clearly insulting peoples intelligence but getting no punishment because it strictly isn’t an insult, but a descriptive of their argument, though used with full intention to insult intelligence and character of the poster.

And worse, these types of posters frequently get moderator support for their actions simply because of the subject matter.

Heck try posting a thread in favor of mounts or open world PvP if you don’t believe me. You could post bloody fully functional code and the thread would still within minutes be filled with spamming, sarcastic remarks, and round after round of the most vitriolic attacks on the character of anyone who dares share a supportive opinion of the suggestion. And if you report any of these attacks, nothing happens, I know, I’ve reported many such posts which were incontestably against the rules. Entire threads of hundreds of posts of nothing but mockery and insults and general mean-spiritedness, totally ignored. Seemingly for no reason other than it has just become the norm to treat those of certain opinions like second class citizens on these forums, to the point that even the moderators turn a blind eye to it.
