Sprocket pick is only current sources of sprockets aside the home node (for those of us that have one)
If they nerf the pick price will soar.
Don’t think there’s any chance of this, fortunately – because we paid real money (gems) for that pick (IE potential breach of contract) and they need a source of sprockets. Could always change the drop rate if there are too many about – won’t matter to farmers as price will rise, we still get paid.
I like the idea of adding the sprocket chance to a utility infusion, as someone suggested in another thread. Then send everyone who currently owns a watchwork pick one of these infusions for free.
I really like the concept of utility infusions, and wish Anet would do more with them.

Are necros accepted in Dungeon and Fractals?
Depressing. I dont know other AAA mmorpgs where you can read that kind of question, “is class X accepted in …”.
Has GW2 the worst community or the worst balance classes ?Play the game PWI as an assassin. Factions (guilds) and chat group constantly use “No sins” (assassin class).
Wait really? Back when I played, 5 aps sin was the gold standard for PvE dps, along with the party-wide celestial bloodpaint.
Hey, I remember that game. I really ought to log in and see how things are these days.
That said, 5APS was fazed out with later instance introductions. Its still usable for instances without, but a lot of the newer ones favor DPH/Skill use over APS.That said, I havent seen cases here where necros aren’t wanted in an instance unless the party itself wants to fill spots in a specific way.
Every now and then I think about logging in. Then I remember the forum thread with people discussing how many 10s of thousands of dollars they spent gearing their characters in rank 9, and I decide not to log in after all.
Not to mention the new expansion classes that are supposedly even more stupidly overpowered than the last ones. Like something similar to a seeker with higher DPS that can also cast skills while moving. I haven’t touched that game in almost 3 years…and not even the thickest pair of rose tinted glasses can entice me back.
As far as necros, Power reaper is my jam. I haven’t done any fractals with him (my druid is my fractal slave) but he rocks dungeons. Reapers are pretty terrible at stealth skips though, especially if you have an incompetent thief who lets the stealth drop too early.

Unfortunately the watchwork mining pick is still too valuable to justify the purchase of any other unlimited mining tool. Based on the drop rate and current market value of sprockets, the watchwork pick is worth an extra 67 copper per swing on average.
So I won’t be buying any more mining tools unless anet either nerfs the watchwork pick, or extends the functionality to all unlimited mining tools.
The sprockets are like 2 copper?
Watchwork sprockets are currently worth ~2 silver. If they were only worth 2 copper I would have never given the watchwork pick a second glance. At one point, they were worth over 5 silver each. I made quite a tidy profit doing mining runs back then.

I resolved my issue……
Apparently it helps if I remember to equip all my ascended trinkets from the bank.
If it makes you feel better…I used my new legendary greatsword for 4 days before realizing I had forgotten to select stats for it.

Probably This:
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I run my usual PvE build, Full zerk, spite, soul reaping, reaper traitlines. If I’m soloing HoT meta events or playing around in dragon’s stand, I’ll swap soul reaping for blood magic. If I’m soloing something really tough like a hero point champ, I’ll swap spite for death magic as well.
As for karma armor (mentioned in an above post) you can’t salvage it, so I would recommend against using expensive runes if you go that route.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
That necromancers will take over the forums completely, and all threads on the front page date back at least half a year.
I for one welcome our new necromancer overlords.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Don’t feel too bad…I can’t even get bronze on sanctum scramble. Jumping puzzle+time limit+unfamiliar skills=frustrated me.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Sounds like bits of the code for spectator mode has made its way into places it wasn’t meant to be. I don’t know if spectator mode disables AoE rings, but I do know that it disables camera shake and forces team colors.
Interesting bug nonetheless.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Are you perhaps holding down either the left or right mouse button while the skill is happening? I notice my character sometimes getting stuck when I do that. It doesn’t seem to happen when I release the mouse button before the skill finishes.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I’m pretty sure you can get all the masteries you need without ever stepping foot into an adventure.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I don’t have any issues with full zerk builds in any area of PvE. Maybe it’s just you.
But if you insist on needing more passive defense, then maybe look into marauder’s gear.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I like the coloring, design and lighting on the PvP one more, personally. As long as you finish all the achievements this year you can get it~ mainly the cross 10 divisions. You can get Clovers doing the Jungle Track while you PvP.
I don’t like the bright light effect on the Fractal one if it’s going to be as bad or worse than the Ascended back piece fully upgraded. I don’t like really bright lightz since I’m migraine-prone.
The ascended fractal capacitor is only super bright if you have shaders set to low. The hero panel and preview windows seem to always show the super bright version.

Think they answered yes to both if I am reading that correctly
oh didn’t see that response yet. Cool. Now if only they could get rid of the kitten confirmation window. Took way too many clicks yesterday to get through a stack of the coins.
As someone who has exchanged over 1000 coins since the start of the event, I second this.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I just hope they don’t add some new grind to it. Getting the “precursor” backpiece was grind enough.
You’ll have to make 4 of them and flush them down the mystic toilet. Make the back piece live up to its name.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
As someone with an affinity for jumping puzzles, 8-bit graphics, and chiptune music (currently listening to the Megaman X soundtrack at the time of this post) the priorities outlined in the title of this thread are backwards.
I don’t really care about not getting new legendaries, but I would prefer getting new content in the form of SAB before getting LS3. Unfortunately I seem to be in the minority.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Speaking of necros….
-BnooMaGoo.5690
The weird flute controls caused me an immense headache when trying to access the last two secret shops in W2-3 tribulation mode.
But oddly enough, I managed to get it without actually playing the song correctly.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Spending so much time in tribulation mode can change an asura.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
They will nerf it so people won’t get but+ hurt in PVP, then effectively make us useless in PVE at the same time.
As a power reaper, I don’t think the traits I use in pve will be nerfed much if at all. So I think power reapers will be pretty safe.
And power reapers are pretty good in pve.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
We’ve been wondering about this since the last time SAB was around. Everyone surmised that the wall could be broken after getting some kind of upgrade in world 3. But since anet doesn’t have any plans to make world 3 happen, we may never know what that thing behind the wall is supposed to be.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Every necromancer needs a little swagger.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Solo lvl 100 fractal, good luck
I found this on YouTube for you.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
No.
It would make the open world even more hilariously boring than it already is.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
it’s the Mushroom Emperor in Dragon Stand;
FTFY, was absolutely brutal if you don’t get him stuck in place
He’s more irritating than difficult though, especially if you’re packing a decent ranged weapon.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
One of the main parts of any legendary is the skin. No skin? Shouldn’t have a legendary version.
Sure the skin is nice for legendaries but a big part of it is also the ability to switch your stats up on the fly, and this will be a big part of legendary armor as well because just by being able to switch the stats on all of your gear easily it makes changing whole builds on the fly easier. Runes are a big part of builds as well and if you are switching to a build that requires different runes having to extract them and out in new ones every time will be a pita.
It would be nice if there was some function with Legendary armor which would make that process easier.
To be fair, we don’t know that legendary armor will have stat swap in the fly. We are just assuming because the weapons work this way. The armor out be a drop down select and that what it is.
I think it’s safe to say that’s not going to be what it is.
Everyone who is gunning for legendary armor is expecting that stat swapping functionality. If they didn’t get it, I imagine they wouldn’t be too happy.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Form should always follow function, and right now, the pet system isn’t functional enough to justify prioritizing cosmetic upgrades.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I kind of feel like I have to weigh in here.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I just click the drop down box and sort by color. Works well enough. If I can’t remember which exact shades I used for a certain color scheme, I just guesstimate. Sometimes I come up with completely new color schemes that way.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
PvE =/= hard
15 char

-BnooMaGoo.5690
I think I got OP’s point. This is basically the problem of necro. Necro simply eats open world PvE much easier than anything else. The reason is that while necro DPS in organized content is low, its self-reliance (self-might stack, self-vuln stack, high crit rate in shroud) and its “passive” tankiness is much higher than any other class. This means that in solo content, you can just go head-on a facetank everything while dealing the highest damage of all classes (I believe necro damage has one of the highest if not the highest damage of all when playing solo).
So yes, that makes necro the easiest class in open-world PvE, and this just shows how ill-balanced this class is.
Open world PvE is pretty /faceroll with any profession. Unless you’re trying to solo HoT meta events or something.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Assuming the weapon is used as a material to craft the shimmering/tenebrous weapons, then wouldn’t it be possible to use it directly from the bank, regardless if it’s soulbound to a different character?
-BnooMaGoo.5690
That’s odd. Have you tried waypointing from Dragon’s Stand to Tangled Depths?
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Once we get legendary armor…. Everyone will look the same. I mean I’ve been wanting to get more armors because the old ones are getting old, but once there is legendary armor if you want to show off your prestige and hard work you don’t get to play around with different t looks. The silverwastes will be populated with a bunch of people wearing the same outfit.
I like my legendary weapons, but I’m giving this one a pass for this reason.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
“I’ve forgotten more than you’ll ever know.”
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I don’t even like playing my guardian in PvE anymore. I can just log in with my reaper, roll my face over the keyboard, and easily defeat content that makes my guardian sweat. I don’t think it’s a case of the reaper being too strong either.
If you can faceroll it, the class is too strong. You should always have to pay attention to what you are doing, and there should always be at least a small risk of death.
Too strong or not, the reaper has become my favorite spec without a doubt. When I want to be challenged, I play my guardian or ranger. When I want to sleep through the DS meta for epic lootz, I play my reaper.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Would be a bit strange to have Chak as Ranger pets though. The Ogres in Tangled Depths tried to tame them as pets but found out it was impossible.
Play the Ogre pre-events in TD and you will find out for yourself.
You would think, If anyone could tame the chak it would be ogres.
If they can’t do it, no one can.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
I played a Necro with no minions before HoT came out, and for a quite a while after. I could run around in the Mad King’s Labyrinth and solo pretty much everything that wasn’t one the Big boss npcs in there. I actually get yelled at on map chat cuz there was a organized group on the other side of the map (didn’t notice), who were upset I was soloing the doors in there, and this is with not that much experience playing the class (lots of tomes were used in the making of that lvl 80 necro).
It’s a tanky class (with basically two lifebars), it can dish out a lot of damage at multiple ranges (power or condi), and with the blood magic line it can self heal very effectively. It can turn other people’s boons into a liability, forcing people to rethink buffing with boons, which hoses up all other builds, and putting conditions on them just gives them more ammo.
This. My reaper (not even fully unlocked at the time) tore that labyrinth a new one. I was quite fond of soloing the undead lich.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Well, after a fairly miserable 90 minutes I have to say that I’m spoonless and none the wiser. I followed a comm-led zerg. We battered down lots of gates, beat lots of champs and got a bit of loot. The score looked OK but at no point did I see anything with “Lord” in the title nor any of the other Spoon droppers listed on the wiki.
So I’m scratching my head a bit.
It took me about 3 days of zerging around EotM to get my spoon. I wasn’t even trying for it, rather, I was grinding my WvW rank to 14 so I could buy a gift of battle. Keep at it, you’ll get it eventually as long as your zerg is hitting the enemy keeps.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Most of the weapons are too over sized in my opinion. Daggers? I’ve seen shorter swords.
The shield is cool though. I also like the staff.
-BnooMaGoo.5690

-BnooMaGoo.5690
I have never raided but this clearly proves what a joke raiding is in this game. At least in WoW it takes months to beat raids even for top guilds. Even then I don’t understand why anyone would take pride in raids. Anyone can beat the scripted static content with enough practice. Give me truly hard content with dynamic and opponents with brains and you got me interested.
So….PvP?
Even the most hardcore of hardcore raids are scripted static content. They’re just tuned so tightly as to be impossible to complete unless everyone in your party plays like a machine.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Minions and pets still die easily when focused. I think the balance is fine now.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Full berserker w/ strength runes. Dagger/warhorn and greatsword.
Spite: Spiteful talisman/rending shroud/close to death
Soul reaping: Unyielding blast/vital persistence/dhuumfire
Reaper: Augury of death/decimate defenses/reaper’s onslaught
Utilities vary from situation to situation.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
Btw, don’t go straight to 50 before getting used to the fight’s mechanics on 25. It’s a frustrating fight if you’re not prepared
Also: Make sure you have the proper amount of agony resistance. Dying before the fight even begins won’t earn you any popularity points with your group.
-BnooMaGoo.5690
