I dont know where it was, but this is definitely a thing.

At least some rocks somewhere in tyria can be picked up and used for a special fire spell as an elementalist

Drarnor, do you really think a being like Glint who :
- lived for more than 3000 years
- who can foresee the futur
- which is a being of high intelligence and wisdom that reveal things only on the necessary moment
- which have been granted enough power from the god to guard the world
could be fool enough to bet everything, resigning it’s long time duty given to her by the god, on a fight with a small party of human being. And this without a back up plan. Living the world protection to an orphan newborn being without any clue of what to do but with a power strong enough to shake the ancient dragon.
Sorry but I highly doubt it. There is a great difference between glint and rurik. Rurik is a low life span mortal while glint is way more than that.

Back up plan sure, but all this doesnt mean that she can/does reincarnate herself from her own egg.

Beside some LS2 chapter would feel awkward to do with the revenant.

No, it would feel pretty cool actually. Even better if they provide some extra dialogue regarding your glint-legend-using revenant.

One advantage of the precast, and the channel time though Zapv, is that it is pretty good against thief, mesmer, and ranger stealth. Fire sigils and air sigils with dagger 2 on a stealthing profession and it’s gg.

Thats only an advantage of the channel time. the precast doesnt do kitten for it.

I want it gone/reduced too.

Staff 1: Is now a 100% projectile finisher.

Considering how slow it is, Life Blast should be 100% finisher aswell

Axe 3: Blast finisher added.

On the one hand, this would really help, on the other hand Axe3 already does a lot of stuff.

Dagger 3: Cast time reduced to 3/4 second.

This is good, but i still dont understand why Elementalist’s Magnetic Grasp has 8 seconds less cooldown, 300 more range and is a Leap-gapcloser. Only drawbacks are 1 second of immobilise and projectile, compared to Dark pact. So imo this could be buffed a bit more.

Scepter 3: Applies 2 seconds of Slow.

Just give it 1 bleed stack back or turn it into torment.

Spiteful Marks: Marks remove a boon from enemies on trigger.

Good one.

Withering Precision: Cooldown reduced to 15 seconds.

In addition to that, I’d love to see the internal cooldown of it changed so it counts for each enemy separately. Or just make it AoE

Weakening Shroud: Weakness duration increased to 4 seconds.

4 seconds is too much. 3 seconds would be fine.

Death Shiver: Added 1 second of chill every 3 seconds.

Not sure what to do with this. I like the idea of a pulsing effect instead of having more boring ‘X when entering DS’-stuff, but this might be too strong. Lowering the frequency would make it too unreliable however.

Speed of Shadows: Dark Path becomes Ground Targeted.

Can we get some super speed with this? Though i dont wanna see another ‘X on entering DS’-trait.

Considering that every projectile auto attack has a 20% finisher chance, I doubt this buff is going to happen. Also, it would probably be too strong.

It’s reasonable cause of how slow it is. And not imo not too strong either.

No, Glint’s egg is a new dragon, like Gleam (Glint’s child who had hatched before Eye of the North) was. Specifically a dragon who is friendly (or at least, not hostile) to the races of Tyria.

I don’t want any off-hand weapon as a new weapon for any of the specializations. Since that’s only two new skills.

except for thieves, of course.

Greatswords: i kinda got used to the necro greatsword by now, even if i wouldve preferred hammer or torch. but i really do hope it’s the only one. GW2 definitely doesnt need more greatswords

Shield: mainhand shield, no matter on which class

Rifle for guardian or ranger is what some people are hoping for and i hope we will never see taht.

Mesmer shield is awful aswell. Mainhand pistol wouldve been better imo

8 legends, 2 dwarfs, 2 demons, and 2 of either of the others.

Why does it have ot be this strict?

Why is there a new thread about revenant’s legends every other day? Just use the google search and the existing threads maybe?
Also, just gonna quote myself from another thread here:

As mentioned before we know about two available legends, Jalis and Mallyx, both of which are form different campaigns. Jalis is a character form prophecie (he did appearin EoTN but he was a bigger characterin Prophecies) and Mallyx is from Nightfall. This makes me think that we will get 1 character from each release as a hero, and since based on trait lines we will get 4 legends, they will balance on 2 Villains/2 Heroes.

While they will probably see to have some variety in their group of legends, they certainly will not make it dependant on the number of GW1 parts.

When the legends are related to the traitlines, i think 4,5,8,10 are themost likely numbers of legends. Depends on wheter or not the class traitline will have a legend aswell. I mean, Ele doesnt have an Arcane attunement either.

4 or 5 would mean that the revenant only has 12-15 utility skills, which really isnt much in my opinion. Right now all classes have far more and the expansion will most likely add some.
The number of heal/elite skills would suggest 4 or 5, but i think the expansion mgiht add some of those too..

So i expect there to be 8 legends, which each traitline having two legends tied to it. Cause 4 isnt enough, 5 is unlikely and 10 is too much.

With the known and obvious ones out of the way (Jalis, Mallyx, Glint), i think we may see:
-Jora: As slayer of Svanir, she plays a very important role and it’s one of the few norn (the legends cant all be humans) that could be a legend. Asgeir might be possible too, but i dont think it’s going to be him.
-A charr. Pyre Fierceshot, i think. He never struck my as one of the important heroes of GW1, but he started the Rebellion and the charr still live by his words ‘there are no gods for the charr’. Kalla Scorchrazor might also be an option.
-Shiro Tagachi. For the reason you mentioned, OP. It’s also a bad guy and if we want to keep the balance of good/bad legends, we need more of those.
-Vizu: Alternatively, if it isnt Shiro, then Vizu could be the ‘factions legend’.
-Turai Ossa, the Ghostly Hero: THE legend of GW1 pvp and plays a role in the first ascension in the Guild Wars 1 games. Also got recently featured in the Living Story.
-Ventari for the salads? Dunno what else to choose here.

Legends that i find unlikely:
-Gwen: at least i hope not. Annoying, immature, childish kitten with anger issues. And if you include her, you might aswell include all kinds of companions like Eve, Livia, Cynn, Mhenlo etc.. Also, imagine Rytlock, the very first Revenant, channeling Logan Runaway’s ancestor.
-Svanir: very important bad guy. But while Mallyx as servant of Abaddon is fine in my book, i somehow doubt that we will be able to channel/invoke/whatever the legends of dragon minions.
-Palawa Joko: is great, but this guy is still…not alive, but active.
-Verata: would be cool, but not important enough
-Kilroy Stonekin: I would love to have him as a legend. Really uncertain about him, to be honest. Hes definitely legendary, but also not that important for the lore of Guild Wars.

I’m talking about the REVENANT, you know? A Revenant may choose 2 legends that can be condition damage and/or power, you’ll have to have 2 armors/weapons/trinkets to switch between depending where you go(pve, wvw) unless you want to play hybrid that mean celestial or mixed armor like in the video. Understand?

I still dont understand why you feel like youre forced to play hybrid with the revenant. If you want to go for power, then Im pretty sure youll be able to find two legends that fit this playstyle. No need to use condition damage-legends.

The same goes for condition damage builds of course.

Or are you complaining that probably not every legend will work well in a power OR condition setup?

Gwen was a popular character from the first game that would make a logical Legend.

Popular mostly because there were only two Mesmer heroes for a long time. And mesmers were just broken in GW1.

Guild wars 2 moving towards the holy trinity?

A vast majority of the playerbase complains about the PVE in this game. Most people do not like the fact that everyone has to run zerkers and it’s all about doing as much DPS as possible. A lot of people complain about this to ANET. The only way they could possibly fix this is make tanking/healing viable so that not everything is a dps-fest.

I agree with this, but i dont want to have a holy trinity where im forced into one of three strict builds in this game at all.
Support-stats and condition damage should be more viable in group builds, but please without the kittening trinity. I prefer to find my own mix of stats, build hybrids etc.. This isnt exactly viable in the current meta, but it would be even less in a trinity. I’d hate to see that happen.

There are many reasons why PvE is kitten and a lot of them dont have anything to do with the game having no trinity.

Also, 6 second taunt? Sounds broken as hell and hopefully that never makes it into the release version.

They either get lifesteal or good condition pressure, though. Hammer is where the lifesteal is, and that’s pure Power weapon. Mace/Axe is a little nuts, though. Glad they can’t have both.

at least they have the option to do both, although not at once. necros neither have those amounts of torment nor such accessible lifesteal.

a melee torment cleave weapon was exactly what i hoped greatsword would be ;-/

I dont think the lifesteal on hammer is that good. Do you really only want to autoattack?

what makes you think i ONLY want to do that? the lifesteal is just a nice bonus on top of it and revenants dont have to invest anything to get it.

My biggest concern about the Revenant is forcing the Necro out of the PvP meta, since it looks like it will do condition pressure and boon ripping better (with Malyx).

However that will also bring the number of professions that Necro is the best counter to up to three. I really wish we had more than just Corrupt Boon and Consume Conditions to make us wanted…

i just cant understand how they can give revenants the whole package.
boon rip, pretty good conditon manipulation, torment, chill, lifesteal…those are all things that are supposed to be typical necro things.
well, torment not really, thats just my wishful thinking

It is obviously not the same mechanic as taunt in other mmorpgs, but most of the people will ignore that simple fact and WILL be 100% sure that trinity in pure form is returned in GW2.

I think simple renaming to “Anger” or something like that will help to avoid confusion.

no need for that. those people just have to learn how to read instead of going apekitten the moment they hear ‘Taunt’ and assuming things based on That Other MMO.

the backside of the axe looks a bit too big, but otherwise it’s a very good skin. i hope the other skins of that set look similar and arent gonig to be random, huge chunks of black matter.

I dont like this change at all. Feels like it’s just going to make the whole CC/stability thing more spammy.

Suddenly, one answer to stability is not to play around it, but to just spam more CC and eventually youll get through.

Also, i seriously hope they tone down those kittening mordrem teragriffs then. So the hitbox isnt that ridiculous and the charge has far less hits.

And at the risk of sounding cynical, ANet probably isn’t going to apply this to all the mobs. It’s likely going to be a mechanic only for bosses and mobs in the HoT maps, because if ANet was going to be consistent about mob and status mechanics they wouldn’t have made mobs who were immune to knock despite not having Defiance in the first place.

Also, they wouldnt have given mobs CC attacks that dont give a kitten about stability. Consistency is definitely not something Anet is capable of.

Oh boy, that was great /sarcasm.

Mace/Axe revenant:
-Torment and poison cleave on the auto attack
-Burning of course
-Confusion
-TRIPLE blast finisher
-a superior version of dark path that is more like thief’s Shadow Shot.

And then there are Corruption-like utilities, but just better.
Also, hammer got Lifesteal that actually seems to work and doesnt require any traits. Just dark wall and 100% projectile on auto attack
Really looks like the class was designed with ‘kitten YOU NECROS, just reroll already’ in mind.

Slow and Resistance

I definitely agree on Slow, it fits us pretty well. But that didnt mean kitten with torment either, so im not getting my hopes up. Chances are theyre going to drown the Mesmer/chronomancer in it, hand some out to thief or other professions and we only get one skill with Slow. It also sounds like a really unfun thing to play against, especially on a class that is famous for it’s awfully long cast times.

Not so sure about Resistance however. It doesnt really fit the necro in my opinion. Youre supposed to take risks by applying/drawing conditions on you and just being able to negate them then sounds cheap. Devouring (CC)/transfering/converting them fits Necros just way better, in my opinion.
The only skills that makes sense to get Resistance would be Plague form. Simply cause youre a kittening plague form that shouldnt have to care about bleeds and stuff. But that would just scream for another plague form nerf.

Minions were immune to a lot of conditions in GW1 aswell, but i dont really see the point in giving them resistance. They got other, bigger problems.

Tho i’m kinda worried about resistance and really do hope they dont hand it out like candy (or useless, unsellable accountbound kitten). I always hear that Necros wont have much of a problem with resistance cause of all the boon rips, but I am not really seeing it/them. Boon rip appears only on a few utilities, traits and two weapons; necro should have a lot more than that.

I’m sorry, don’t get me wrong, I’m looking at the skill while trying to keep a certain balance. It’s just that if you were looking at it like the dev would look at it this skill, in pvp, it is potentially :

- Berserker amulet: 1.2k direct damage and 6.5k condition damage.

- Carion amulet : 10k condition damage and 300 direct damage.

This is by no mean negligible.

How easily do you get to 25 stacks of might in pvp with the current Blood is Power?

And it’s still 2 stacks over the course of 34-39 seconds. How long will it probably actually stay on the enemy?

Of course if they could give me party support from this skill without removing the damage part I’d buy it. But I’m realist and I know that this much damage, even if it’s potentially, is what held back any changes.
That’s also why I say that I’d be willing to sacrifice//trad this skill’s damage for a change that would make this skill more party friendly.

Thats why i suggest to increase the self bleed instead.

Btw, which bleed were you exactly talking about here?

The damage part of BiP is a really long lasting bleed on foe. Pretty powerfull thing in fact. And I think it’s mostly why this skill is held back with a long cool down and restrain to selfbuff.

in the end it’s just 2 stacks of bleed and it probably wont stay nearly as long on an enemy in most cases, so i dont think that this should really be an issue or a reason not to buff the skill.

if youre specced into condition maybe. as a powermancer it’s just a bit over 2k. i think if you buff the benefits of the skill significantly, then it’s justified to increase that a bit. But you may be right and 4 or 5 stacks with the same duration is too much.

Also, i still hope we get greatsword as a melee condition weapon. so far most of the greatswords in the game are some sort of melee mobility burst weapon and it’s just kittening boring.

class quests? oh that would be awesome. but very unlikely.

I’m pretty sure there will be. You don’t just get to whatever you want automatically. Think Colin mentioned something like it in PAX.

since this is anet, it’s more likely that this just means some sort of grind or gold cost. an event, if we’re lucky.

but probably nothing what i would consider a quest (something like personal/living story missions)

- For blood is power I think that it’s the damage part that is crippling this skill. Removing the bleed stacks inflicted on foe could open up this skill to becoming a party wide buff or a personal buff with at least a decent cool down.

whats the problem with the damage part?

For Blood is power, i propose this:

  • You use the skill just like you do it now, no channeling.
  • grants 12 might to yourself, 6 to allies.
  • for five seconds after you cast it, you grant fury (to all or just the necro? i’d say all) if you get hit.
  • Bleed stacks on yourself go up to 4 or 5 (2 bleeds are barely noticeable)

Epidemic: Becomes ground targeted, range reduced to 1000, recharge increased to 25s. Enemies in target area share unique conditions, prioritising higher stacks and durations.

Cant really say anything about the balance of this thing, but i really like the idea.

Corrosive Poison Cloud: Radius increased to 300 now inflicts 1 stack of vulnerability for 5s each time an enemy is critically hit within the cloud. Allies have a condition burnt

Sounds interesting, but cleansing a condition doesnt fit this skill at all in my opinion.

My ideas for additional effects for the cloud:

  • Corrupts enemy’s combo fields and turns them into a poison field: Is more of a WvW-effect, i guess. While you give your enemy a free poison field, it also overwrites more useful fields like water or fire and creates an area the enemy really doesnt want to be in.
  • Reduces duration of boons applied by the enemy by 20%: again, more for wvw or pvp i guess. Works similar to Hallowed Ground and would give the necro some more boonhate without simply slapping boon rip onto the skill.
  • Increases condition duration for targets in the area by 20%

Now i know this stuff isnt going to do anything in PvE if Anet continues with their kittenty mob design, but then it still has the vulnerability/poison.

The only one that might be OP is life transfer. Perhaps that can be recoded to not heal the necromancer. Or maybe that should be moved to master/grandmaster.

It certainly can, so it becomes part of transfusion. Or it heals but doesnt increase life force anymore. that wouldnt be that OP either.

Or perhaps blood traits should be very good because the boon duration healing trait line in a class with bad healing scaling and poor access to boons better be good.

I dont get this part, at all. what does blood magic have to do with our boon traitline?

but yeah, if we already have stats of a traitline wasted on boon duration, we better get some good (boon-providing) minors in it.

The only thing that they indeed lack is the raw DPS, wich will, hopefully, be solved by the greatsword.

Well it’s not that bad, unless you’re a condimancer… so best bet the greatsword is going to be a direct damage weapon.

So according to you, greatsword is going to be a direct damage weapon, because condimancer is lacking raw dps?
That doesnt make any sense.

I’d really want to see a melee cleave condition weapon. that would be quite unique

Dear dear Arenanet, Gw2 Community,
It would be really nice ..when people play pvp..they dont need to be scared that they will get insulted no matter what they do…i get insulted for winning..i get insulted for losing..thats my daily pvp (and im not a bad player…and pvp nearly everyday)

i got enough from this…!! and i dont want that so many player in gw2 need to suffer bcs of this!!

Im speaking for all when i say:
I dont want come home tired from work and relax..and the first thing someone tell me is: OMG NOOOB, GO DIE, U TRASH

i know its normal that in pvp people get faster emotional and angry…but..this is no reason to insult someone and hurt someone….and its a part of the rules of gw2 (i know noone read it..but..) that insulting someone is forbidden…..actually it should be a general standard that insulting is bad..we r all human and have our pride and rights.

Maybe the generation under me see it as normal to hurt eachother and hurting words became a standard…but this game should not teach them that it is ok..there should be a better way to punish them( forexample a buff which cant let them talk to others for 1h)..and show them how bad it is not to respect eachother and say any bad word they want.

A wrong button click, and bad teambalance, and many others r no reason to hurt someone !!

That’s sadly a big part of pvp in various games and it doesnt look like it’s going to go away any time soon.

Either learn to ignore/block them or start making fun of them.

The Trasher Boss I have had people say no CC, but really they mean no hard CC, what ever that happens to be, and here is where you shouldn’t AoE, because when you pop the poison bubbles it charges one of the Thrashers attacks. However, I rarely see the Trasher fail so it’s not really a problem what people do there.

I thought the ‘no CC’ thing is just another made-up rumour?

Also, ‘hard CC’ usually refers to stuns, knockbacks, dazes, fears.

Hopefully, the new necro specialization and greatsword will add some more active defense for necros, so they don’t get focused so easily.

just slapping a specialisation on the profession while leaving the default class unfixed sounds like a very kittenty way to adress a problem. i hope therell be done more about it than just the specialisation.

how come that during the HoT announcement Colin Johanson comes on the stage and says that guilds are going to form guild teams that will play Stronghold to fight for the top spot on guild leaderboards and then Grouch and Nightmare say something completely different during the Ready Up?

It’s the same that happened at launch. They lie to sell their box.

I don’t think it’s a lie, I guess they just changed minds due to QQ of 100 WvWers who aren’t interested in Stronghold anyway.

Nope, never, theyre a waste of money/gold. Still have a ton of booster crap from the occasional Black Lion Key drop that i dont use up.

Either
-i always think theyre too precious and i dont want to waste them (like wvw boosters), -theyre absolutely worthless cause the currency is worthless (karma boosters)
-they just dont work for most of the things you’d want them to (MF boosters).
-theyre just useless (swim boost)
-orthey turn the game into an awful hurry (Killstreak booster)

I used a lot of crafting boosters to get from 400 to 500 tho. But i havent bought any of those either, the ones from the chests were enough.

nah, i dont need that for my necro at all. especially since you cant use only parts of an outfit.

what i want are good looking light leggings for charr. something that isnt a huge bloated skirt and actually looks nice.
