And I thought I was alone in my hatred of Trahearne; (I’m thinking)
-I dislike people thinking/saying theyre the only one. Because in most cases theyre far from being the only one. Especially when it comes to things like treehorn, who is universally hated by almost everyone.
-I hate people who like characters like Taimi or Scarlet. I think those are horrible people and their opinions are wrong.
-I dislike Asuras, cause i think every rat midget player is one of those “LE EPIC TROLL XDDD”-players who think theyre funny and are just out to ruin other peoples days, cause theres no way people could actually find them cute.
-Quaggans are useless, annoying and not cute at all. Even in their rage/mutant form they suck.
-I really liked the mysterious steam creatures in Lornars Pass and am still mad that they have been ruined by putting Scarlet behind it.
-I could rant about Anets stupid decisions and how they in my opinion waste the great potential of this game for days and sometimes i do, even tho i know that thats probably not healthy.
-Im upset about how bad Anet is at making money. The vast majority of the things in the Gemshop are kitten and i think they could make way more with better skins and stuff.
-I dont like people playing mostly human chars cause they either look like 12year old boys or sex dolls with downs syndrome. It’s a fantasy game, so go wild with unusual characters/races! But at the same time i have a female human necro alt cause i wanted to play the personal story and i still have that char (in my defense: she looks pretty good since her dumb face is hidden beneath that necromancer facepaint).
-I’m okay with pink hair and those ridiculous hairstyles being in the game, but i think everyone who actually uses them should be banned/punished for having terrible taste
-When i dont feel like dying in WvW i play my thief alt (it’s disgusting how easy it is to get away as a thief, in situations i clearly shouldnt have survived). I feel bad for it.
-I feel like a dirty hipster for having the Kraitkin. (but it’s one of the very few goodlooking legendaries and it fits my necro)
-I hate guardians and nothing might ever change that. It’s your generic paladin class that requires no skill whatsoever, it has been OP (or close to it) since release in every game mode and i consider everyone playing one to be a noob who always goes the way of least resistance.
-I dislike people with dumb opinions who spout stupid kitten here on the forums (Conditions OP, ‘No class is OP’, all the people defending thief) but i cant be bothered to take the time/effort to properly respond and correct them, cause i know the thread will disappear and be forgotten in this godawful forum way too fast and then some other moron will come along and post the same kitten again.
-I also dislike people who say things that are correct (+-cond.duration food OP) for the same reasons: It doesnt change a thing, the thread will be forgotten and a week later someone else posts the exact same thing.
-I feel the urge to kick people in a party who ask ‘no guard?’ cause i consider them useless kittens who cant get through a single dungeon on their own and need the noobclass babysitting them to succeed.
-As a GW1 player starting with prophecies, i didnt like the tutorial at all, except for the catacombs. It was a generic, uninteresting happy fantasy world and i cant understand why people hate the charr so much because of the searing. In my opinion, post-searing ascalon looks better.

Yeah, that seems to be the case, however as a skin (and the name) I really like it on my necro. Also, I don’t know about you, but I’m not watching my weapons when I’m in a fight to see their attack animations :P so I don’t really notice it.

dont bother with conditions in zergs.
as others already pointed out, there are way too kittening many AoE cleanses in zergs.
by the time the enemy zerg cant cleanse anymore, theyre about to be overwhelmed anyway. when the conditions begin to pile up, it’s more of an indicator telling you that you lost the fight. you just arent dead yet.
so use it for roaming, but get a power spec for big fights

A faster channel time for dagger 2 would have been more useful, but a buff is a buff.
My thoughts exactly, it gets dodged way too easily
how does a fast channel time improve it against dodging? that only means that you can avoid a bigger part of the skill with a single dodge.
windup time needs a decrease tho, i agree. takes way too long for my necro to lazily raise his arms and finally start leeching.

I wouldve been fine with the slow projectile, if it wouldve tracked like hell and got fire power that matches the slowness.
But 50% speed increase is fine too, of course
Now they just need to give Putrid mark some AoE cleansing back and staff would be fine.

They turned unintended bugs into intended game mechanics before (like when they kittened up our weapon switch), so saying that it was a bug doesnt justify this nerf at all.
Anet shouldve removed the cooldown-refresh when you leave DS via hotkey instead.

Of course it makes sense to nerf Plague Form. It was a skill that could make you survive 30 people for 20 seconds, and did NOT prevent capturing of points. How the hell was that not broken?

Theyre different class mechanics. Theyre similar, but that doesnt mean they have to be the same in every aspect.
I would be fine with life force degenerating/regenerating out of combat to a value somewhere in the middle tho. the difference between 0% and 100% is too big.

Completely agree with this. your last two pictures are probably the most mesmer-like dresses in the game and i was pretty frustrated that they werent available.
I really cant think of any reason why they havent put that in the gemstore already instead of all the garbage armors.

There has been tons of good feedback all over the balance and necro forum.
Necro is a class with many issues since release. Still cant play a lifesteal centered necromancer for 2 years now.
And this fairly small amount of changes is all these lazy kittens managed to do in half a kittening year. so yeah, im pretty sour.

I’d like them to have their fair share of gtfo. They need either a stealth or a blink or something that makes it easy for them to withdraw.
i, as a necromancer main, would be perfectly fine with the ‘cant escape’-part if the second part of their design philosophy for necro (‘the class you cant get away from’) would be true aswell.
still feels like pretty much everyone can just walk away from us whenever they want.

No really, something is wrong here
I was in Lich form against AC boss and I was hitting 1.1k. When the effect ended, I switched to DS and I was hitting 1.6k.
Why the hell am I hitting so low with Lich Form? I thought that maybe the skill was somehow bugged with my previous stats, so I changed my elite back and forth, reset my traits, re-equipped my gear. The result is always is the same, what the hell?
downscaling has some weird issues and your stats have a cap which you cant exceed.
if your equipment already has high power, most of lich’s extra power is wasted. combined with the kitten scaling of the lich auto attack, you lose damage.

While i love that would happen, i doubt Anet will ever do this. The very thought of switching between two “life” bars and always refilling the other is quite scary for them.
Unholy sanctuary is/will probably the only thing that will allow health regeneration in Ds for a long time.
i dont really see a problem there. if you refill your current life bar or a second one, whats the difference? it always sounds like as soon as you can refill the other one, something magical happens that makes the necromancer invincible.
so how is the concept of ‘switching between two life bars and refilling the other’ inherently scary/broken?
Unholy Sanctuary pretty much showed that it isnt. It’s just a numbers issue.
And blocking while youre being healed/eating damage while your block comes off cooldown isnt that different, in my opinion.

if it’s made by the developers of GW1 then yes, sure. I would love to see GW1 becoming active again with new patches/expansions.
As long as the current living story team stays the hell away from it. Dont want GW1 lore getting ruined by them.

But even if this wasn’t the case there are plenty of other places Arena Net can pull from for naming traits. For example they could have named it after a famous necromancer from the first game or one of the books. I’m still wondering why none of the necromancer traits or skills reference Blimm in the slightest. Why not? Blimm was a brilliant Golemmancer who used necromancy. Why does arena net just need to dig in human lore? Why not a charr necromancer of the shaman cast?

But besides Dhuumfire i dont see any skill or trait that references human lore. There arent any Verata skills anymore either.

I hope people realize that Dhuum was anti-necromancy. Dhuum hated letting mortals use minions and refused to let revival to take place. According to the history in Tyria there were no Human necromancers before Grenth became the god of death and usurped Dhuum. And given the evidence provided by the Jotun this can be confirmed.
Having even a trait on the necromancer called Dhuumfire drives me absolutely nuts from a lore perspective.
i think pretty much everyone with a bit of knowledge about Guild wars lore hates dhuumfire both because of the name and because burning doesnt fit at all. Theres a good thread of Drarnor Kunoram about that topic which i would link but you cant find kitten in this horrible forum.
numerous people suggested to remove it or change it to a couple of stacks of torment at least but anet, being anet, just doesnt give a kitten.

we need more ranged power options, so i’m afraid if this was implemented it would need to be 90% direct damage.
i do love the idea though a lot.
well, it hasnt got any damaging conditions besides poison, so it looks pretty much like a power weapon to me

If you want DS to scale with the number of opponents just give it a passive life regen effect that gets stronger the more opponents (max 5) are close by.
considering that Necro’s are supposed to be aggressive and hit enemies to get LF and keep going, i think thats a bad idea.
What can be done:
-lifesteal already scales with the number of opponents, cause it got no internal cooldown. if lifesteal wasnt kitten, that could already be a big help
-Spectral armor/walk were some of the few necro skills that scaled well with enemies until anet ruined that with the internal cooldown. this cooldown should be changed so that each attacker has its own internal cooldown.
-Death shroud: maybe implement a cap on how much life force a necro can lose each second while in death shroud. A trait a la “While in death shroud you can only lose 10% maximum life force per second” for example
and of course let us finally receive healing while in death shroud…

I’d be fine with this change if there were other ways to counter stealth.
For instance, if the player was revealed whenever they became downed, and the player would always be revealed whenever exiting stealth, even when not attacking someone (i.e. removing CnD chain stealthing). Perhaps the character would even be revealed when a certain number of hits were received while in stealth, meaning they have to be properly evasive and a person who correctly reads the positioning of a stealthed enemy could be rewarded for guessing correctly.
Applying revealed no matter how you left stealth seems like the most logical thing to do.
Revealing Thieves when they take a certain amount of damage in stealth (% of max HP) sounds reasonable too.

The genre doesnt have to do anything with cosmetic items, in my opinion. And i’d call it skins cause that term already exists for this kind of stuff in gw2.

This pretty much. Works well for Dota2 and Anet could make quite some money with that. Especially with one or two different Golem and bone minion skins.

What necros can expect? pretty much nothing, im afraid.
What i’d like to see and whats somewhat realistic:
-2-target-Cleave on dagger 1
-Lifesteal works in DS
-Regen and some traits work in DS
-Life blast becomes a projectile finisher
-Enfeebling blood becomes a whirl finisher
-Siphoned power is replaced
-Full of life is buffed to 10 seconds.
-Axe#1 gets buffed
-Golem gets a less kittened AI
-Blood is power: more self-bleeding, but stronger effect. affects teammates.
-Spinal shivers with reduced cast time
-Unholy sanctuary is buffed
-Spectral wall becomes a projectile block/reflect
-Renewing Blast is buffed (but it’s still gonna be pretty bad)
The utopic stuff:
-Staff marks: direct damage distribution gets evened out: mark of blood hits harder, chillblains too, putrid mark becomes a bit weaker
-Staff gets its Ally-cleansing back
-Buff to dagger 2: heavily reduced windup, bigger heal
-Casttime of life blast reduced
-Dumbfire is removed
-Blood to Power is replaced by something thats actually useful
-A new torment-related trait
-A new confusion-related trait
-Another skill/trait that offers additional boon hate/rip.
-Soul Comprehension is replaced with a trait that is actually good or at least works in DS now
-Condinerfs are (partially) reverted
-All incoming healing works in DS
-A lot of dungeon bosses/pve mobs in general are revamped so that chill/boonrip actually matters

Agree with this. Why is the goo in the loot chart for these kind of things to begin with?
Getting Reward chests that are filled with literal crap is frustrating and kinda disgusting.

This fight isn’t so much difficult as once again, like Rytlock Ritual one, terribly annoying. Soooo over done with condi dmg, K.D’s, AoE’s that cover the entire room, giving u no time at all to recover and allow your skills and endurance to recharge. The camera plays awful in there as well, which only adds more annoyance to the whole encounter.
First: The Rytlock fight is easy as hell if youre not aiming for the “avoid all knockdown attacks” achievement.
And Condi damage? what? a little bit of bleed and a lot of poison. thats it. not really damaging at all.
Dodge, Dodge, Dodge, until your eyes bleed. I came out of there feeling dizzy and with a king size headache from all the craziness. That was not fun, maybe some people thrive on insanity, but the sheer chaos of these fights is making me ill.
the only thing you really have to dodge is the glowing-ground-stomp and when youre targetted for that plant-cocoon-prison. everything else you can avoid just by running.
I just finished this on challenge mode as a necro and had enough dodges to avoid stuff just fine.
maybe it’s a little bit much the first time, but when you try the mission a second time and are used to all the things going on there, it’s a lot easier (at least thats how it is for me with these living story missions)

“Playing GUild wars 2” now basically goes like this:
start mission,
move to NPC#1,
alt-tab to firefox, browse forums/etc., while NPC#1 finishes her kittentalking
alt-tab to guild wars 2, move to NPC#2
go afk, get a coffee
back to the game, kittening NPC#2 is finally done.
i now can finally actually play the mission.
it really shouldnt be like that. im drinking way too much coffee cuase of that aswell.
unskippable dialogue/cutscenes are some of the worst sins you can commit when making a game and should be illegal. pairing that up with achievements that can be failed and require you to restart the mission is even worse.

You people complain too much.
I’ve opened at least 150+ chests so far, and gotten zero. Am I complaining? No. For two reasons:
1. What’s the rush? The chests have good loot, so I’m going to be farming them anyways. Just because I don’t have a weapon now, doesn’t mean I wont get one later. It’s not a big bother, nor’ do I lose any money trying. (Quite the contrary, chests are quite profitable…)
2. RNG adds a much needed flavour to RPGs like Guild Wars 2, and were long missing since the days of Guild Wars 1. Yes, you reading it right: GW2 needs more RNG. It needs the satisfaction of opening a chest and getting that rare item drop, or at least the excitement of trying for one.

It’s just so frustrating to get something valuable but not being able to make any use of it (cause of all this accountbound-kitten getting slapped on everything).
Got 2 fossils now that i dont need. What should i do with it? Let them clog up my bank account? Trading it in for 3 bags of trash is a kittening scam.

Haste on proc would be great and would provide that element of mobility to the longbow. Fits in well with the lore, too. Devs please take note!

The titles and achievement point values for WvW play are absolutely out of character with the rest of the game and we will be addressing that. What form that will take specifically I am not entirely sure.

I sometimes dance/laugh on the corpses of guardians/thieves/warriors in WvW, when roaming. If people play one of these professions and still manage to die, they deserve it.

Im a noob when it comes to engis, dont play mine that much, but:
AED!
-In addition to the current effects, if you receive a would be death blow, you are cleansed of all conditions! For 5 seconds afterwards, condition duration is reduced by 50%!
i think the anti-condi stuff, cleanse AND half a zerker stance) is a bit too much here. maybe small cleanse (3 conditions) + a second or two of invulnerability?

- Bandages are thrown much faster! Similar to grenade speed!
-Throw Antidote changed from -25% cooldown to removing 2 conditions!
I thought the problem with this is that changing it to ground-target is kittening annoying? and that you cant throw them directly at people, since they then have to move out of the aoe and in again to pick it up?
Also, what about pistol offhand? so far it appears to be pretty underwhelming to me.
•Modified Amunition: Increases Damage by 4% for each condition on your foe. Will increase damage by 8% when duel wielding Pistols.
Sure, just make it ridiculously overpowered. you realise that this is now 2/4 times as strong as the necro trait?

Agreed on plague blast being vastly superior. I’m pretty sure that in practice life blast is longer then 1s between casts (probs server connection lag or something).
it definitely is. including aftercast it’s something like 1.5s, i think.
Imo, the dps of life blast is fine, but having it fire faster (with less power) would probably ‘feel’ better and building might/vuln wouldnt be so tedious.
Condi transfer on life blast would definitely be a very good trait that probably doesnt take much effort to make. Im all for that.
Am i the only one who’s still upset that this isnt a projectile finisher, btw?
It behaves like a projectile, it can be reflected like a projectile…seems fairly obvious to me that this woud be the easiest/first way to give necro some finishers. (100% is reasonable, imo. it’s a special skill after all. and soo kittening slow)

it’s my most used offhand (powermancer mainly). even in open world pve.
I propose a change to how Warhorn #5 works:
Rather than a 3 second Daze, make it deal 3 separate dazes that each last 1 second – similar to how a moa dazes you.This would actually make me consider using warhorn over focus, dagger or staff.
i think removing counterplay should not be the way to buff it.

Run water ele’s in your zerg, we have two water-heal ele’s in our guild zerg and conditions are basicaly none existant.
A good zerg composition is key to victory and you can easily take out a zerg full of selfish 1v1 spec’s twice the size if your team comp is good.
maybe we should talk about how underpowered conditions are in zergfights instead with all the aoe cleanses flying around in there.
that 2 eles (plus all the aoe kitten of guards/warriors, i guess?) are enough to negate conditions entirely sounds very wrong.
