There was a good suggestion/guess that the next legend might as well be Scarlet Briar as there is high possibility that Anet may give rifle to some other class.
I took a long break from GW2 and completely missed this Scarlet character, but just by watching videos I can tell how much that character would grate on my nerves if they were a legend. lol
I know right Even though it’d probably somewhat annoying for me too I’d really happy with revenant getting a rifle.
However, there is higher chance that this class will get some other useless dung like focus instead. Ugh…
Rifle definitely needs more love. I use it on my berserker, and sometimes my engineer… but I just can’t justify crafting an ascended rifle until another of my alts can use. I even have the ascended rifle recipe, just sitting there waiting. XD

I would like it if Herald just added 1 more utility skill for each Legend on the F2 and that Facet of Nature would simply go away upon legend swap.
It’s crazy, but I use facet of nature without using glint. I like to use jalis+mallyx or ventari. I just use herald for the boon duration, as well as fury, without having to rely on invocation so much. Just to give me options.

“Master Togo”, said the handsome young stranger who just entered the topic.
Is kinda sucky for everyone I think. I’ve come to rely on natural resonance to make certain traits and runes somewhat effective and it wasn’t cheap.
If Revenant’s ‘Natural Resonance’ gets it’s boon duration bonus reduced, will ‘Envoy of Sustenance’ get an increase? I ask because I’m incredibly selfish about the boon duration I get for myself. Screw the party. lol

It is not fun to carry around 14 pieces of equipment per character because I don’t want to play one build to rule them all.
Please add a special action skill based on what 2 legends you have equipped.
Using it could cost no energy but put itself and all legend utility skills on a short cooldown.
Some examples.
Mallyx+Shiro = Consume Torment. All conditions are removed and for each condition removed you gain +150 condition damage for an amount of time.
Ventari + Mallyx = Metamorphosis. Break stun and release an area mist that poisons foes and cures conditions on allies.

few week a go i did a 4v4 as a tablet healer they achive 0 dmg to my allies for a 3 minute fight in WvW was kinda silly xD.
Yesterday I was goofing around in ember bay and decided to play a ventari build for a change of pace. This was my reaction to how effective it was.

So now I have to legend swap between zones cuz I now know what I’ve been missing out on. That’s just great. lol

I leveled a rev from 1 to 80 this past couple of weeks. First rev I made almost a year ago I deleted out of boredom. I have no idea what I was thinking back then. This class is chock full of interesting nuances. The combat is pretty engaging with the right weapon/legend combinations.
This is how I tend to play on Engineer and Druid so I would agree with the sentiment. The problem for me isn’t ventari’s lack of DPS but rather the horrific clunkiness of using the tablet. The energy costs are quite high, the effectiveness of the heals is low and there are too many steps to activation and the cast time is too long.
I find that my personal survival using Shiro tends to be superior to Ventari and as such can help people better by being alive to res, agro or cut down enemies faster so they don’t have opportunity to threaten other players. In short, bubbling the occasional random player is fun, but it’s more effective to annihilate their enemy in most situations. Which is a shame because I would prefer to play the way you are advocating.
I haven’t really thought about it til now but the fact that playing Shiro tends to provides better, more efective and easier to use survival than Ventari, is just bizarre.
I disagree with the whole tablet is clunky thing. What makes Ventari a drag for me is the lack of a stun breaker within Ventari’s kit.
I forgot to make a point of the lack of stun breaker, good point! You don’t find it clunky to switch legends, then have to use a skill to get access to the utilities instead of them being immediately available? or having use two skills to get the effect of one at a specific location? The tablet is an interesting idea but the fact that it has inescapable lag due to cast, travel time and additional button presses where most skills require only the one activation can surely only be described as clunky?
It’d be like an engi swapping a kit, then having to press another button to gain access to the kit skills before finally pressing the key for the skill they need. No one would put up with that.
Annoying yes,but not clunky. Personaly I wish they made Togo the support legend and give it 4 more weapon kits besides Ventari to cast. But as it is Ventari activation is a minor annoyance due to the fact that there is little reward in going through that whole process.
The whole time travel thing….I don’t want to touch that sort of bs after work …. so let’s leave it as a “variable annoyance” (there are days when it’s a huge annoyance and there are day when it ain’t)
Just last week I was thinking of the next legend, and what I think would be cool. And it was Togo! Wouldn’t that rock?! We might get a full on ritualist playstyle with item and weapon spells.
https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Item_spell
https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Weapon_spell
That would totally rock!
To anyone out there who is thinking “but togo isn’t legend worthy”, you can go fly a kite! lol

Please tone down some of the vendor costs. I’m trying to do the machined weapons collections to get an ascended rifle and I want to see dragon stand die in hell right now. It’s so tedious.
I think whips might work. There is a sylvari personal story mission where you get a whip weapon with whip it good skills.
Could you also get them to look into how killing the towers and jade armours isn’t counting towards Heart Completion?
The other hearts are great, but the one around the mursaat fortress is really buggy. I end up having to kill 2-3 times more mobs because for some reason they don’t count on the heart track.
You also get weird things like if you kill a tower one time, you get no credit. But kill it another time, and you do get credit.
Yeah, I get it too. It makes the heart all the more tedious/frustrating.
I made a topic in the bug forum about how I thought it might be related to some hidden geometry bug or something. There’s a number of wonky things going on in that area. Like getting ‘out of range’ and ‘obstructed’ messages when I’m attacking towers near the shoreline. It is as though they are there, but not. :O
I brought it up in a topic on reddit. Hopefully it gets more traffic.
Fix. Return to the gw1 lobby system. (No need for private instances, just a dropdown menu to move between existing copies of a map)
I keep hoping that is added. Like I honestly log in some days and look around the upper corners of the screen whispering a wish that it would be there.
So for the first time ever I did all the living story achievements because it gave those account bound armour pieces as rewards. Very special to me as they are account bound plus have a nice selection of stats to choose from and that helps with my alts who want to try viper’s stat based builds.
I am a pretty casual player and not rich, and I would like to create a full set of account bound armour and was wondering if there are plans to keep adding amour pieces as rewards for living story achievements that are account bound. I got the head piece and shoulder piece, so will there be more pieces in that set?
Thanks for reading!
edit: In case it’s hard to follow exactly what I’m referring to it’s these two armour pieces.

It won’t be for a while I assume. You can farm for the items of the month, if you want a reason to log in. Or make alts like me. Except I’m running out of professions to play. whatever
Here’s a list of what I think might be geometry related bugs.
1. Several Ether Towers near shoreline give ‘out of range’ and ‘obstructed’ messages when I try to attack them when within range. It’s only on the shoreline.
2. The ship debris on the shoreline makes a gunshot sound and disappears whenever I get close to them. I’ve made dozens of attempts to pick one up and only succeeded twice.
3. Also I do not get heart credit for fighting jades and destroying ether towers on the shoreline. Like they are out of range or something.
I have 8 characters and what usually motivates me to play the alts are the specialization collections, which require completing a HoT zone with that alt, and also learning the class.
It can feel ho hum sometimes, but then I could stumble across a way of playing an alt that is very different from my main and it becomes addictive for a while.
I guess technically nowadays I don’t have a main, as it used to be my engineer but that was before HoT and I barely touch him now. I’ve been focused on playing daredevil, dragonhunter, reaper and chrono since then. Started a warrior just last week too. XD

I did it several times (for the achievements) on my Staff Daredevil too and that was a piece of cake. Only the Destroyer of Hope is a bit of a pain. For the rest, make sure the mobs are grouped, and Bound+Vault onto them: they die in 2 hits and you have perma-evade… Only 2 things did put me in danger: the AoE at the end if I’m out of endurance (or more accurately if I’m not reactive enough when I must use Signet of Agility to refill it) and picking the pustules when there’s a bad spawn and the trash mobs attack me (maybe I should kill them first since it literally takes 1 second and a half).
Long story short: if you play a thief, use a weapon with a better AoE (staff), don’t go full berserker if you’re not a pro player (use marauder) and learn to dodge.
Extra tip, use Signet of Malice if you have to, Caltrop, and Dagger Storm. So many enemies pop up that your health WILL top off just from the Dagger Storm’s procs on SoM. The procs that Caltrops gives is a bonus.
That’s good advice too. I instinctively bring impact strike just to smash breakbars. But I don’t remember seeing any breakbars in this instance, so dagger storm would be better elite I think!
Well there are like 2 or 3 Vets, they’re not an issue… As for the harpies, if you see they’re evading, pick up the pustule while they’re dancing in the air.
And for more survivability, I’ve used Withdraw traited to remove conditions (for the poison), and Omnomberry Ghost. As always when I don’t need to steal boons, I’ve also used the trait that triggers Haste on steal, plus the trait that reduces the recharge for Tricks, for more spiking (Weakening Charge is better when you have Quickness).
Thanks for the reply. It’s advice that helps. I want to try this solo as I feel figuring out how to do this will improve my overall daredevil experience.
Again, it takes 2 Vaults…
Not quite. There are vets, and some destroyers are harpies that randomly evade. I’m honestly trying to get practical advice here.

I used staff and it’s grabbing the postules that killed me every time. How do you wipe out all the groups so fast with staff to pick up the postule in time? The groups attack from multiple sides and it takes me more than a second and half to kill them.
edit: Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, BOUND! I didn’t even think of this. What equipment you using too? I have one more achievement to get there and would like to try solo to improve my game.

How long till HoT goes on sale for like $15?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Redfeather.6401
They should sell a version for 15 dollars that unlocks elite specializations for pvp. That’s all I got that makes sense to me.
I stayed in my Mursaat disguise for quite a while. It makes it a lot easier to find those Mursaat lore tablets. That way, you don’t have to look out for all those pesky veteran jade constructs littering the place.
It was fun. I walked around telling the jade armours to button their shirts and stand up straight. Like I was their drill sergeant.
I was a Staff Thief, and I did die a lot, and agree that it’s pretty difficult for one person to handle all those waves coming from different directions. I hate escort/tower defense missions under the best of circumstances. Luckily as soon as I got out of there, I noticed several groups forming and went in with one. With a full party the entire mission was a complete cakewalk, the enemies didn’t even get close to the shield, for the most part, and my health was never at serious risk.
Yeah, it’s brutal. Can dodge big hits, but not a dozen small hits. And daredevil is heavily power based and melee. I did use p/p to stay at ranged, but it just can’t keep up with the spawns as it is single target dps.
I am sure that condition damage on a shortbow would have been a cakewalk, but I ain’t buying all that equipment to attempt to run a viable condi build on a daredevil just because a pve area hasn’t been balanced properly.
I guess it is not a big deal. Accessories give the least amount of stats. I often wonder why they even exist since they are just another 2 slots to fill for barely any stat gain, and not one thing more. Might as well add another 6 trinket slots that barely change anything, for whatever reason. lol
I was a thief as well and died everytime I ran to grab a postule bomb. 8 destroyer’s pounding on me while I did so because I was in fear of the shield breaking. It was hovering around 2% for ages.
Anyway, when I finished it and left, found a group of players standing outside asking if I’d like to group with them for it. We did it no problem as a group and got a lot of achievements along the way. I also got a mastery point out of it. Glad I went back in with the group even though I had just finished it beforehand.
When she left she said “you’ll regret this” and I don’t understand where that came from.
I am at the point where xp I get goes nowhere. It is funny how it’s changed the way I play. For example I no longer rez NPCs, gather from shrubs, use food/utility or use any xp boosters.
Daredevil is way more fun, but way more dangerous to play. So it’s up to you whether you want to be a stoop kid… or a daredevil. XD
If you have plenty of alts like me it can be worth it to do the elite specialization collections to unlock the ascended weapons they give. The first collection is going to be a huge demoralizing pain if you are casual. But after it is done, further collections are a fraction of the time since you already have the masteries unlocked and should have plenty of the HoT map currencies.
My first elite specialization fully unlocked was daredevil and it made exploring HoT a blast. I highly recommend focusing on the thief if you are good at it and enjoy it.
Also, if you are curious Fortissi… here is my daredevil’s build. Very fun to pve with this.

Heart of Thorns Killed My Interest in GW2
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Redfeather.6401
I have played GW2 more since HoT came out than I did the 3 years before it came out.
Honestly I attribute this to elite specializations and how involved the new environments seem to be. I like to explore and both those things keep me plenty occupied.
I really like both LA versions. How to keep both.
So maybe if you walk into the middle of the mystic forge you enter a pocket dimension and it is in old lion’s arch. Everyone there has bobbledheads and speaks Bork! Bork! Bork! It could happen. You don’t know!
Bloodstone Visage
Shoulder Scarf
Gladiator Chestplate
Chaos Gloves
Mistwards Legguards
Peg-leg BootsMe ’n my Doe.
I love my Doe, even though she bite my foot off.
Angry little Doe.
I love your charr! The last pic is amazing. :O
What’s wrong with axe in general PvE? XD
I think it’s fun. I use action camera and can tag every mob just by spinning in a circle and using axe#2. And the auto attack stacks vulnerability like a machine gun, which is good for me as I use Decimate Defenses and Unholy Fervor.
I use axe/focus in PvE too. I like it a lot. But the second weapon set was always iffy for me. So maybe I’ll check this out and see how it goes for me. I will miss reaper shroud though.
P.S. I use Dragon breath buns as they are super cheap. Try it out and see if you like it over roasted cactus.
(edited by Redfeather.6401)
Well I’m getting nowhere with my opinion.
If the developers think a corruption necro could use sustainability then I imagine allowing regen in shroud is a good way to do that. I honestly see repercussions in that, but I won’t comment on it anymore.
I like it the way it is. If a necro uses shroud, they become a pseudo tank. Except they are not invincible, as you can condi them back to reality pretty quick. But the necro might reverse that once they get their condi reversal skills back after exiting shroud. There is strategy there.
Ehm and exactly how would allowing regeneration working in shroud change this?
Then shroud would be relied on to heal whenever the necro is low on health. There’s no strategy in that. It’s mindless. Teammates could potentially heal me back to near full health if my shroud lasts long enough.
For now I pop shroud when I want better crits/damage, or protection against direct damage, or respite while I’m waiting on my heal to cd. But I have to quickly think on whether it’s a good idea because that shroud isn’t going to last and once it’s stripped from me I’m going to be exactly where I was, healthwise, before I popped it.I was only taking about regneration though. FYI that is less then blighers boon gives when combined with spite and you just auto attack in shroud.
Also even if we would be talking about all healing (which i didnt i might add) how would that be different then healing the other professions up during thier blocks, evades or invulerabilities?
If they allow regen in shroud I already know a way of abusing it using nothing but necromancer skills.

Maybe when Laz starts to cause mischief it will fill peoples ‘machiavellian agenda’ needs.
I think it would be nice if greatsword on necro was reworked. Some utility and mobility. Something to set it apart from reaper shroud and the other necro weapon sets.
I use it to enhance shroud. The sigils and stats on the GS help make shroud useful. When I’m not in shroud I switch to another weapon because, well, greatsword feels really redundant and weak on a reaper. Shroud already handles cleave damage and crits, and is good at attacking breakbars. I think GS shouldn’t overlap reaper shroud that much.

Since my new favourite character is a charr necro, I would love a charr light armour that looks slick and sleek. I got the exclusive hair from the hair stylist that gives my charr the slicked down hair with bangs.
What I am thinking of is similar to how charr light heritage armour looks, which is what I am using now.

I really love that mantle!
Here is what my charr looks like right now, so you can get an idea of new armours that would suit him.

How about a well that does fire damage. If you step inside of the well you lose all boons and minions and for each one lost the well is expanded in size and duration. Also, it sets you on fire so that you can toss some burn onto targets outside of the well if you choose.
Like a giant crematorium or something. XD
