Not actively boycotting ANet information, but I am sick of the speculation threads and stopped reading them a long time ago.

I use it, but only on characters where I am not spending skill points (basically some key farmers I’ve kept for way too long). It is definitely a lame elite, but it’s one you don’t need to spend 10/30 skill points on.

Quick test. I figure you ran one of your trials with friends or guildies. Did the whole party also get rewards that matched what they got the previous time?

I don’t know what causes it. It could have something to do with one player’s rolls carrying over and not being refreshed in some data structure or the database when other players start fresh. There’s lots of ways to approach and tackle bugs- bugs which can be very weird. Games aren’t real life. You can’t generalize bug cases without first acknowledging specifics.

As a fan of TASvideos, I can say he managed to do something that is widely demonstrated to be not only repeatable but programmable. But your analogy breaks down somewhat in that gaming console RNGenerators are often highly predictable, because they have no access (or lack the power to access) some kind of data value that can arbitrarily change. When we transfer that to a PC game, the mob of players connected to it at any point are themselves a source of RNG. The devs just have to pick one aspect of some random player’s interaction at any particular moment, scale it appropriately, maybe adjust it by the final few bytes of a clock tick, and insert it where it is needed.

And 2 trials successful (even though I mention that this has happened at least 4 times) is already a probability of 1 in 10^24- it would be more probable for me to spontaneously combust.

I’d comment more, but it begins to muddle what you are asserting here (these independent variables with these ranges in this combination recurring is unlikely in a random situation) with what you are trying to prove (these things aren’t random). I don’t think all of your assumptions are correct, and that some of the variables are somewhat dependent on the others. For example, by choosing a particular starting fractal, you limit the options of the ones that might follow it. That would affect the fractal order recurring, but not necessarily the final award.

Assume that’s true. That puts the release date at a minimum of 8-9 weeks away, and that’s assuming they start talking about the specializations this week.

Except GWAMM was nothing more than an optional title. Heck, you could get at least 25/30 just by playing through once in normal mode and once in hard mode and a bit of vanquishing/skill capture.

Actually, I used to live here, and for me “armour” really does have two “u’s.” I have to consciously remove the second “u” in all sorts of words. (One of the founders of ArenaNet gently told me we needed to go with “armor” back when I first started writing website content.)

Each mode of play you CHOSE to pursue has its own rewards. You opted to pursue things that do not reward AP at a stellar rate, but they do reward AP. It could readily be argued that the rewards you did obtain are worth a lot more towards improving your play experience than 10 AP will do for you. If AP means that much to you, divert an hour of your ‘worthwhile’ time to get the AP you believe is worthwhile, and quit kittening.

You should care. Any new waves of interests in this game’s PvP is a good thing whether it comes from Soda or NB3. These two have nearly two million followers together.

That actually makes me a bit nervous… PvP is PvP enough without 2 million more people to make it more so.

Thanks for reminding me of another thing that bugged me. I am supposed to be the star of the show, not whoever happens to start the instance. Another reason it should be soloable.

You’ll like Living Story then. The characters still have most of the focus, but they can’t do anything without you taking the charge. And they always refer to you as The Boss.

I’m hoping the Revenant’s staff use will make a scythe skin cough more relevant.

One could of course also point out that even if you chose to ignore the content there will be a massive influx of people running around with, in the dislikers eyes, silly and immersion breaking weapons everywhere.

All the known combinations are already on the wiki. What are you REALLY looking for in terms of an interface?

Typically 15g has been my upper limit. I don’t have the g’s to throw away much more than that on a single skin that’s just going to be used to fill wardrobe slots.

For something I intend to use… It would have to REALLY grab me to for me to spend more than 50g on it.

This one is highly particular.

In addition to not walking into the trap zones, you also cannot start a fight with anything else. This means you need to reinforce the canister for the goo. You need to track down the directions for opening the motor and follow them to a T. You cannot instigate the trapped chromatic ooze. You cannot open any ley line rock boxes except the correct one and for some reason, this you must do last.

In other words, you need to do this whole thing flawlessly and in a particular order. It took me over an hour to get it right when I did it last weekend.

The ball will teleport directly onto you if you try to stand in a place you think it cannot reach. I.E. someplace that requires jumping. Even a small bump will count, so long as it breaks continuity with the plane of the floor. This can make running around the arena dangerous.

There are non-exploit ways to make this much easier, but given the likelihood of the mechanics getting ‘fixed’, I’m going to have to leave them for you to discover

Champion bags were a late addition to the game. Players weren’t bothering to go after them at all because the risk/reward ratio was seriously weighted towards the risk side (drop items and rates pretty much indistinguishable from basic enemies). ANet responded by granting Champion level enemies a means of distributing guaranteed rewards. To compensate for the guarantee, the rewards tend to be terrible and Magic Find does not apply, but the bags also gave a chance at some unique skins and a fair amount of gold.

The gold was drastically reduced a while later after players started to do nothing but farm champions.

That’s the thing. Cat joints AREN’T backwards. What you think are the back legs’ knees are actually the ankles (tarsus), and the cat walks on it tiptoes. The cat’s thighbones don’t extend out from the body like ours do, but they do point/flex in the same directions, as do the rest of the cat’s legbones/joints.

Sieran didn’t die. She faked her death to the Undead and Perma Mist Formed away. She eventually stowed away on a ship out in the ocean to rest but it wasn’t sailing back to LA, it was on its way elsewhere but was sunk by a storm. Sieran eventually found herself stranded on an island alone and went insane, changed in appearance and started calling herself Owain, which was the name of one of the crew members who befriended her. She’s still on Southsun Island now struggling with trauma, mental illness and her addiction to Karka eggs.

As far as them returning…. well, we didn’t witness their deaths, and no one recovered the bodies. Maybe Rytlock can pop out of the Mists just in time to spirit them away.

On another note i wish this set was to revenants olny as their iconic set. In b4 fake “revenants” called guardians and warriors with blindfold..

Because all those other class-specific armor sets have become so iconic….

You are in a SERIOUS minority…

There is one way they could do this and maintain the palette swap skins: establish dye channels for highlights only and leave the predominant color alone.

This would probably cause more of an outcry than its worth, particularly if your favorite weapon loses a color you like because you haven’t unlocked it yet.
