GvG in GW 1 was 8v8 with normalized gear/stats, and my gut tells me that is what ANET is going for with Stronghold.
Weren’t groups in GW1 just 4 players though? So it was effectively 2 groups? So 10v10?
I was just guessing / going with my gut

Serious question, why not just go play PvP in GW 1?Because GW support team takes forever to reset someones password. Like over 2 weeks forever. Also. I’m sure GW1 PvP is dead. I don’t want GW1. I want better PvP. It’s a pretty simple thing. Who wants to run Domination all day? Like Domination is the least skilled PvP you could do. All you need is a full team with mics. Boom. You win. Communication is all that is needed. “I have 4 here in Mid, you guys go cap far and home”

Its so stupid easy, that when you hotjoin matches, your team doesn’t want to cap, instead they just want to kill people.
Why not give them what they want? Make something like Random Arenas, where the only job you have is to down your opponent.

Why does ANet continue to push PVE when most of us PVP?
Just imagine how all of that PVE development money could have spent on the content that matters to most of us.
If by “us” you mean GW2 players as a whole, then most of “us” don’t actually PvP! PvP is TINY! And in that tiny, tiny playerbase, a large chunk is just bad PvE/WvW players who just PvP for their daily!

To elaborate, Courtyard, Skyhammer, and Spirit Watch will only be in the map rotation if it is “off Season”. Since the PvP Season starts Dec 16th, the above mentioned 3 maps will be gone. However, once the season ends and there is a break until the next season, they will come back.
Hope that makes it all a bit more clear…

This was brought up almost 2 years ago if I recall. The community seemed divided at the time, some said it was not true and the skill dealt the same damage no matter your character, others claimed male Human/Sylvari were doing more damage.
Either way, if there is an issue, it has been around since the launch of the game, so don’t expect ANET to fix it.

Maybe they re-balance the profession so it is not as dependent on Life Force, or maybe Life Force should always start at 20% when you rezz/spawn.

Ha, sorry but I highly doubt it. The most anet has done for us is allow us to perform actions in deathshroud, and they still haven’t fixed minions dying when you go down or change level if you have flesh of the master, plus minions not attacking (granted, the last is an ai bug which could screw up the whole game if not handled delicately). Life siphons are still pitiful, dhuumfire got walled off behind life blast, and to help our sustain, they added one second to SoV active and shave 10 seconds off of spectral armor’s cool down.
Long story short, I don’t look to u to get much if anything from a-net regarding necros other than marginal buffs, and bug fixes that only hurt us.

It is not a joke. They said courtyard was going in, I don’t know, 1-2 weeks before the patch.
However, Courtyard, along with Skyhammer and Spirit Watch will not be in the map pool choices during ‘seasons’ if I remember what they said, so they are in now since we are off-season, I think…

Between dodge rolls, reflection, protection, and retaliation, I am not finding the new power ranger overpowered, just ‘good’.

Reflect is pretty nice, watch the rangers kill themselves. Retaliation is a good choice also.
Honestly, having a bunch of glass cannon anything instead of condi spam and bunkers is fun, most fun GW 2 PvP in almost a year, IMO.

I’m sorry but these arnt “the best” players by a long shot. Mediocre at best, random dodges, misuse of skills, easily getting hit by earth shaker. Both running mediocre builds, the guard could have run any number of changes to his build and beat the warrior. Too much break time between bursts, the guard could have won a couple times by supplying continual pressure but instead allows the war to stall gaining health back through heal sig. . . . .

As someone with a level 80 Mesmer who PvPs, please, PLEASE, do not go through with the scepter buffs. Putting so much Torment on auto attacks is a bad idea

Necros are not ‘bad’ in PvP, just that other profession/builds are more desirable, so it is rare to see a Nero do well in high end PvP. If all you do is hotjoin or soloQ PvP, Necromancers are a fine choice.
Necros is great for WvW though, they are part of the G.W.E.N. meta (Guardian Warrior Elementalist Necromancer).
As for PvE, well, yeah they kinda suck

Why not just have it so that playing a PvP match gives you access to the PvP bank for 30 minutes, no need for charging gems.

Also take into account that nowadays a lot of Warrior WvW/PvP builds go at least 20 down Defense, which gets you Adrenal Health.
Having your adrenaline fade away when OOC is a nerf to Adrenal Health, and as such a bit of a nerf to Warrior’s overall sustain.

Taking into account all the changes to GreatSword, IMO it will be a better weapon choice for Warriors in PvP.
I have been playing GreatSword/Longbow warrior for a few months in PvP, and I am really looking forward to the new Arcing Slice. AOE and more damage on targets < 50% health? Yes please
As for the HBlades nerf, if you can get a full HBlades combo on someone in PvP because they just stand there and eat it, you are still going to win after the nerf, because they suck at PvP.

As someone who plays Warrior & Guardian in PvP, what Keksmuffin said is pretty spot on. Pay attention, and save dodges/blinds for when the warrior pops the sig.

One big change to warriors mentioned in the ready up, Adrenaline Skills will use your adrenaline if they miss, and adrenaline starts to go away when you leave combat.

Hmm, I will edit it me thinks, try to be more clear.
I think it is 4 or 5 seconds. But since it is on a 30 second cooldown, AND it relies on critical hits to proc, seems like a bad trait that no one takes
I tried it with my Guardian, and it just does not work.

Just an idea, hoping to make Glacial Heart useful
Let me know what you think.
Change Glacial Heart to: whenever you apply burning to a foe with a Hammer equipped, you apply half the duration of that burning in chill.
NOW I don’t mean every time burning ticks, I mean whenever you apply it!
I think this could really open up a solid hammer build for Guardian in PvP, since the current version of Glacial Heart relies on critical hit chance. Also, the change I purposed would hopefully make Purging Flames something we actually see from time to time.
