Fixing page bug.
It is really easy to tell who didn’t actually read through this thread, got completely trolled by op, and rushed to the bottom to leave an angry “l2p!” comment. Lol.
Someone didn’t read the L2P post closely enough.
Funny, I don’t recall quoting any specific post. Maybe someone shouldn’t make assumptions eh? ;-P
Ah, yes. Surely it could have been any of the countless posts at the bottom containing the phrase “L2P.” There were so many of them; how could I possibly know which one was being referenced? A veritable needle in a haystack, as it were.
Go back and read my post very carefully. ;-P
Hint: To make a post in this thread that is not a reply, one needs to scroll to the bottom where the text box is to type it in. Also, one does not need to literally type “l2p” to make a post in that context.
Now that you have been educated, you’re welcome. Take your newfound knowledge of how to read and try to locate the posts I was referring to. Surely I do not need to spell that out for you as well do I?
People SERIOUSLY over-exaggerate this whole 2 HP Bars deal.

Literally all it would need to do is be its own entity (and so Fears you away from it) like Line of Warding, and inherits one of very few traits from Necromancer. This wouldn’t be that hard to do, it needs your condition damage/duration, and it needs a few traits: Terror, Parasitic Contagion, Shivers of Dread, Deathly Chill, Bitter Chill.
Minions already have all the functions mentioned, the only difference is you’d need to make the Fear from the wall.
You realize that you started with “Literally all it would need,” and then gave a long list of things it would need. It might not be “a lot of work” to some people, but to a dev it is a complete redesign that requires 6 times the coding all for the net gain of Fearing a person in a different direction sometimes.
Sorry for being harsh OP. I didn’t mean to come off that way, I just wanted to point out what it would require to remain effectively similar.
You’re mistaking your assumptions for facts and are failing to properly perceive what a great beneifit changing Spectral Wall in such a way would be, and of course coming off as the only harsh person in this thread for no foreseeable reason.
No matter what tweaking, a well build will be a teamfight build, period. The build is not designed for solo fights, and so changing the build too much to do better in solo fights will hurt its great teamfighting capabilities. For a good all-around power build, Soldier Signet Reaper works much better.
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Reaper_Wellomancer
Yeah I’ve been playing this for quite some time now and I gotta say it is pretty fun. The build is easily kited in 1v1’s but performs great in group fights.
Yup, this needs to happen.
Alot of people seem to be speculating that Engi isn’t played as much due to skill rotations being complex. However, for me at least, this isn’t the case at all. The complex skill rotations are the best part.
The problem is that, after playing an Engineer for some time, it just becomes stale. Every decent build is just a slightly altered copy of another build. Most Engineer builds take many of the same traits and will always include the same old kits for utilities cause everything else is suboptimal. This creates a huge lack of diversity between builds, leading to the eventual boredom with the class as a whole.
Not that it is THE source for builds, but hop over to metabattle.com and look at the number of builds available for each profession. For example, now that I’m back on my Necro, I have so many options for how I want to play him. I don’t get that with the Engineer.
So you see, it’s not necessarily your complex rotation or anything like that, it’s simply because other people get bored with the repetitiveness of the Engi.
Doesn’t Maurauder rifle or hammer do everything SD does but better?
But it is always nice later knowing that you were supposed to lose yet still pulled a victory, expecially if it was a close match. ^.^
Not sure what the issue is here. It’s difficult content with nice rewards for the people that wanted that sort of thing. On NA server, and I can always easily throw up a commander tag, squad invite all the people on lfg wanting to raid, and pug the raid. We all hop on teamspeak and even if we fail we have a great time. If this content is too hard for you to do even that, then you shouldn’t be doing it. Not ALL content in the game should be catered to ALL levels of players. You don’t NEED legendary armor or any other raid rewards. If it is something you WANT, then you’re just going to have to learn and get better.
I mean, it is a legitimate complaint with the other two game modes having legendary back pieces now and not WvW.
What are people using for WvW roaming these days. Are we still sticking with Signet Necro, or is there a better power/condi/whatever Reaper build for roaming?
Whoah, this wound up in wrong forums. >. <

It’s a terrain issue. It happens on all pulling effects except the engineer’s (it always succeeds per the skill’s design for some reason), and many teleport skills as well such as steal.
Hope you’re not talking about magnet pull buddy. We’ve had the same issues with that skill not properly pulling an opponent to us forever now.
Thanks. I guess I’ll stick with exotikittenil something changes with either fractals or tp prices.
So prior to HoT, I was able to deck out my Engi in full ascended gear by buying the mats I needed with gold I made doing the Maize Balm farm.
Now I’m trying to get my Necro in full ascended, but the Maize Balm farm is dead and the prices on materials seem to have shot up. I’ve tried farming Silverwastes but I feel like I’m spending forever on that grind just for a few gold.
So just wondering if there is a decent method to getting my Necro in full ascended gear that isn’t going to require hours of repetitive grinding. I don’t mind hopping on for a 30min grind or so, but anything over that and it takes away too much of my time to actually enjoy the game.
I use LFG to pug raids all the time. I throw my commander tag up, then go through all those LFG requests to join a raid, and invite them to my squad. Simple really.
Something tells me we’re missing the other side of the story...
On the contrary, only skilled Eles can frequently maintain a health threshold above 90% most of the time to make this trait useful.
And in a very subtle way, it’s a way of saying kitten you to the braindead condi reapers, so I see nothing wrong with this. Move on and l2p.
I smell a biased opinion. Agains a pure conditions build, any Electric with Diamond Skin can easily maintain 90% health. This is not a lap issue, and has most likely been overlooked thus far due to how poor it performs in team fights wheb the Ele’’s health could drop below 90%.
Don’t see the issue. I got bored, made a Thief, played a P/P build. Died a bit at first, learned a bit, then had a ton of fun. All in Hotjoin. You can practice in Hotjoin, works as intended. Also private servers exist. The experience of forum ragers does not make a statement true.
GW2 doesn’t have tanks and healers, everyone does damage and everyone looks after their own health pool in the first instance :P
Did you even play the raid in beta?
The flamethrower auto attack will keep stacking its numbers if you constantly auto attack.
I consider that a bug. It used to not do that.
Not a bug. Anet purposely changed all channel attacks to work this way in a previous patch. Though I think the damage count should reset between flame jets.
So you play hotjoin to stack teams and farm rewards like pve and if you can’t do that you wont pvp? bye
He never said he stacked teams, he said he goes to another server if the one he is on is too much of a landslide. Some people don’t have forever to sit around and wait on what could possibly be a horribly unbalanced match. In hotjoin, you can just leave and find a better match. It’s perfect for people that just want to jump in and play a few matches, and there is no reason to remove their rewards.
As for reward farming, those people often do that in their own private server. So again, your suggested changes will accomplish nothing but kitten a bunch of players off.

Man, this thread was funny and refreshing to read until sunshine and supreme started their conquest of shoving their opinions down each other’s throats.
When I played Rev, condi build did suck. Not sure if that is still the case as I’ve been so busy with Scrapper. With Scrapper comes some more combos, but it’s not too bad. But utilizing combos can make the difference between life and death. Like overcharging the healing turret, getting three leap finishers with rocket charge followed by detonate turret, it’s a pretty huge heal. Just stuff like that, not too hard to pull off, just something to keep in mind as you want to make sure you dont waste fields or finishers you might need.
Kinda funny that chrono can’t use wells underwater but necro can.
Revenant or Engineer is going to be best for you. Necro will not provide you the fast-paced action you’re looking for.
I only played Revenant a bit during BWE 2 & 3, but they were extremely fun to play. You should hit up the Rev forums for more info there.
As far as Engineer goes, if you like juggling kits and skill combos then it’s probably a great fit for you. The Engi is much more than hitting every kit skill on cooldown, especially when playing solo. A large part of playing Engi effectively is properly utilizing combo fields and finishers. Overall, despite the occasional boredom from using kits all the time, it’s an incredibly fun and engaging class to play.

Ok, so made some changes to your build that may help.
First of all, your trait set up was perfect, not much more you could improve there.
Crit chance, you were going way overboard with that one. With my suggested changes, you’re still going to be running around with 94% crit chance due to traits in the Firearms line.
Heal, use either Turret or Elixir. Gadget plain out sucks, Gyro is close contender but still outclassed by healing turret. With Inventions trait line, Healing Turret will cleanse 3 conditions every time, and has great raw healing.
Utilities, Elixir Gun, as always, goes perfect with Flamethrower. It’s going to provide you with a little team support, a stun breaker, and a high damage skill with Acid Bomb. Also to remember, Elixir Gun weapon set contains 3 Elixir skills, all working with the traits in Alchemy now. As for Elixir B, you can replace it if you want, but it is going to help you with that Fury uptime and give you bursts of Stability when you need it, which can help you get around those moments when you lack stability because you swapped out of Flamethrower.
As for the Elite, Elixir X is the funnest choice. Tornadoe is a big damage drop, but is great for CC’ing players off point in a team fight, while zerker is awesome. Mortar is another good choice through providing another Elixir, decent toolbelt damage, and some useful fields for fighting on point.
Replacin Tools with Scrapper and Rifle with Hammer, I’m failing to see this apparently large drop in damage/utility, as far as power builds go of course.
That build is a joke, as is memebattle. No decent condi with celestial stats… mindboggling.
Nevertheless, you are extremely well equipt to counter Reaper with that travesty.
Auto with EG for weakness, most Reaper’s are Marauder. Use stunbreaks as necessary.
Hammer 5 into Hammer 3 for CC/burst/healing combo. Follow with 3 if they are on the field or 4 if they are off and winding up a big hit.
You’d be better off with a good build though. Swap Shoes for Flamethrower and it starts to look a lot better right off the bat.
Please try not to throw out such blatantly false information.
Yeah, I don’t play scrapper because I appreciate a challenge, dork.
Looks like you have no interest in a challenge seeing as how you need to be spoon-fed information since you have no idea how to properly educate yourself on how a skill works before coming to the forums to make posts that scream “I’m a noob!”
I’ll leave the same thing I said to you in your other post here since you are a little slow to catch on.
Again, since you have trouble reading, I specified the Function Gyro is designed for use in group play. As in, you are in a group. Also, with the new changes to all minions across the board, Function Gyro now takes 95% less damage from indirect AoE cleave, meaning it survives just fine unless specifically targeted. And finally, even if the player is right next to you, having the Function Gyro means you revive the player even faster, or can assist reviving without having to stop your dps or ignore what is going on around you, not to mention instanced PvE content is changing quite a bit and things like this become even more useful.
And one last note, there is still potential that the upcoming Squad UI could very well alleviate the complications of using the Function Gyro during large open world events.

I don’t know, maybe the answer lies in one of these other hundred threads on this topic?
The power of Google!

Great in sPvP, in PvE base engineer is much stronger, except for stealth skipping through the new areas with sneak gyro.
Also the elite class mechanic is designed for and only viable in sPvP.
Elite class mechanic is designed for and works in any setting where you are in a group with other players.
I guess you’re talking about WvW? Cause in PvE and sPvP you can just click their name on the party UI and hit “F”.
And now please explain how we invite all of the 30+ people fighting the HoT boss into our party…
The only place where the function gyro mechanic is close to useful is sPvP.
Which is why I asked what game mode he was having the problem in, way to be rude though. And function gyro works great in dungeons, fractals, raids, and small group roaming as well. Not just sPvP. Also keep in mind the new squad UI is coming.
Any other questions?
Omg Scrapper is awesome. Most the negativity here is due to Gyros cause, well, they really need some work. Outside of that, Scrapper is fun as hell. Currently Cele Scrapper is incredible in PvP. In PvE it’s more of just a change of pace, not sure if it out-performs the Engineer in dungeons.
" Deploy a sneak gyro to provide stealth to nearby allies.
Currently invisible. Ends if you deal damage. Stealth (4s): Invisible to foes.
Duration: 30s
Interval: 3s
Radius: 300
20 second cooldown "it’s an aoe stealth for the entire team, that lasts 30 seconds, and has a 20 second cooldown. so you can stay stealthed perpetually? i’m aware there’s a gyro that can be attacked, but as soon as it’s destroyed the skill can be used again. kind of broken imo.
add that to Elixir S, Medic gyro and Shock shield and your damage mitigation is frankly kind of nuts.
just telling you what you already know
Something tells me you don’t actually play Scrapper. Yet another uneducated post. But you already know that.
I guess you’re talking about WvW? Cause in PvE and sPvP you can just click their name on the party UI and hit "F".
Reaper has limited mobility, highly telegraphed attacks, and little stability outside of Reaper Shroud. So you kill them much like a regular Necro. CC the hell out of them and burst them down. Dodge the big tells.
When they come out of Reaper Shroud, Thunderclap + Rocket Charge followed by Slick Shoes, Hammer 2 & 4, then Acid Bomb. Just make sure defenses not up. Don’t attack them when Spectral Armor is up, you’re basically healing them. Spectral Armor pops automatically at 50% hp.
Yeah, I feel as though the Gyro buffs should come from the Engineer himself that ends when the Gyro is destroyed. That way it is effective, all Gyros still work fine such as Sneak Gyro, and there is still counterplay since the Gyros can be destroyed.
Do you find that the superspeed on gyro death is more beneficial than Adaptive Armor for survival? Just curious cause I’ve been running the build below with similar success but am looking to fine tune the build.http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vdAQFASncoCtbhVXBeeB0ehlJji+tr79Oc7SmvT8ZGvAA-TJRIABzeBAA4BAYUZAQ2fAA
Thanks. I’ll take a look at that as well. It was kinda late and I was a bit lazy to see if anyone else had a similar thread open. ; P
If you get locked down in Moa and killed chances are you were going to die anyways regardless of the Moa. Seriously, if you are having so much trouble with being Moa’d that you feel the need to come to the forums and complain about it and ignore everyone’s advice, then you are probably in no position to act like you have any more skill in this game than the average player. It’s like shouting out "Hey guys I’m a noob!"
