I just change to my other account when I encounter a premade, it still amazes me that even though solo players are already at a disadvantage you are apparently punishing them if they leave or go afk.
The worst problem of PvP are not premades. The worst problem are all these AFKers and leavers. Sadly there is no punishment for them. So please anet enable Dishonorable.

This will allow players to pick whether they would like to play Stronghold, Conquest, or both
Is Team Deathmatch
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Team_Deathmatch
going to be removed or do I got forced to play Team Deathmatch even if I selected Stronghold or Conquest?
No, to compensate for that gear now gives higher stats.
It is not secret that games stacks all odds against you if your win rate is above 50% forcing you to play against good players and having really new players on own team.
Well if that is not secret you can surely share some evidence for that with us.
Does Arena agree to a few guilds use EDGE of MIST as a private background for
private battles between them, killing other players…
I‘m a bit confused, what is your problem exactly? Are you really complaining that on a WvW-Map players get killed?
Yeah, thieves really need a fix. Thief is the class which relies the most on teleports. Which is a totally broken and bugged mechanic.
- Teleports not working because of a leaf on the ground
- Teleports costing initiative while they not working
- …
Ok so what about a thread called:
Lordrosicky’s Nerf Threads
We definitely need that!
And please merge all of his nerf threads there.
This is the same person who wants to nerf Mesmer and now Warrior.
Nothing but a clueless player, move on.
He wants necro to be buffed and most other classes to be nerfed. Guess which class he mains. ;-)
This also includes disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith
I did no such thing. I leeched nothing, I left the match.
So leaving is your definition of “actively participating in matches”?
but a definition that broad would also mean that a not very good player could be charged with it just for joining up and not being very good.
No, trying your best is “actively participating in matches”. Leaving or AFKing is not.
You openly admit violations of the “Rules of Conduct”
While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-rules-of-conduct/
and want a fix for that? The normal fixes for this situation can be found here
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-conduct-breaches-outcomes/
Everybody can socialize, very few can organize 5 people with different schedule, interests and time zone, then play for hours together to reach a considerable level of cohesion.
And therefore it is great that the system allows you to play as a team of any size. A system that forces you to play alone or as full 5 man team would drive many away from PvP.
That and I waited over 5 min every queue….
You complain about long queue times and still want to separate queues to get even much longer queue times?
I think the system is quite good the way it is now. You can queue with a team of any size. The main problem is the low population in PvP. That is the main reason for bad matchmaking. Forcing players in different queues would make that problem even worse, you would wait forever to get even more lopsided matches.
And how will they know which skill points come from which source?
If you open a map you see the number of total and completed skill challenges for this map. So anet just need to add those up.
Hero Points = Fixed amount per Character-Level + amount of completed skill challenges
Of course they are possible. I and many people I know have a one man guild as a storage.
NA and EU are different Datacenters. If you are on an EU Server you only get matched up with EU Players and vice versa.
I used some a while ago, and yes it was approximately 80 for a whole reward track.
maybe you should actually click my images and see the 500-0 wins
I have played a few thousand games and of course I had a few landslide wins and losses. That happens and proves nothing.
A kill/death/assist tally and a capture/decap tally is a whole lot better.
I don’t know if this is really much better. Sadly I have seen too much double and triple caps or zerging 4v1. I fear with such a system in place that amount would even increase. So please just remove it.
I think Conquest and Team Deathmatch need separate queues so I make separate lists.
Conquest
- Legacy of the Foefire
- Forest of Niflhel
- Temple of the Silent Storm
- Battle of Khylo
- Spirit Watch
- Skyhammer
Team Deathmatch
- Courtyard
How would we fix this? Easy—don’t have custom arenas count towards dailies or reward tracks. This would allow people to play custom games, but in order to get the rewards of playing PvP they would have to compete in either Ranked or Unranked play.
You really want all those farmers to spoil your unranked/ranked games? Because losing a unranked/ranked game gives as much reward as winning a custom arenas/hotjoin game. If you remove the rewards from custom arenas/hotjoin they come to unranked/ranked to afk, voluntarily loose and so on. I’m quite happy that they stay away from my matches.
Looking for 8v8 not 5v5.
There is no mode 8v8. You can configure a Custom Arena
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Custom_Arena
to be 8v8 but finding such an Arena is very unlikely.
Due to having to stay in the radius of the HT’s regen and problems of when the turret blows up, etc etc,
In my opinion Healing Turret is by far the best heal skill of the engi. You shouldn’t let the HT stay and stand in radius. The most efficient us is (Place HT -> Overchargr HT -> Pickup HT). If your team is in desperate need of heal you should blast it (Place HT -> Overchargr HT -> Blast HT).
See this
for more information.
With the Static Discharge build (http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Engineer_-_Static_Discharge) you have the Trait “Accelerant-Packed Turrets” (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Accelerant-Packed_Turrets). So you have a bonus push back and damage to the foes near you if you blast the Healing Turret.
Change =/= nerf
Not every change is a nerf but this change is a nerf.

if you want to know more about the impact.
So you would sacrifice your entire profession mechanic for a stun break every 7 seconds, and 50% uptime on retal and one stack of stability? That just goes to show how low peoples expectations are for the class. Could you imagine any other profession giving up their whole mechanic for that and being satisfied?
Many ranger would say yes. :-)
Solo arena = mandatory no party
Team arena = mandatory party of 5
Most of the time I meet small Teams (2-3) in my matches. So you would force the majority of the players to play solo. I don’t think it is healthy for PvP to force the majority of the players to play in a way they don’t want to play. Sitting in the queues for a long time is boring so people want to team up and trash talk etc. but many have not the possibility to always build a full team of 5.
If you only want to play just press “Practice” or “Play” to get in the Queue.
The Filter is for Custom Arenas.
This doesn’t really explain the when aspect though.
Thank you for the link but that’s not what I searched for. I think most newbies do know how the Secondary Mechanics work but don’t know how to use them correctly and have a wrong understanding of their value for the game.
One of my worst experiences was a match where one guy manned the treb and two other guys defended him and the treb mainly against one thief. As a bonus he yelled at the rest of the team why they are not able to win the game 2v4 because with the help of the treb it must be childishly simple to win.
Maybe a good guide would help such people to handle Secondary Mechanics.
yeah but you forget the fact that you can queue vs same team 6 times in a row… which happend to me before
After getting the same team you can’t handle the second time in a row you should take a 5 minute break.
You didn’t specify game mode.
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Guardian_-_Altruistic_Healing_Bunker
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Guardian_-_Virtue_Bunker
These are for PvP.
Hi, if I understand you correct you have problems with grenades because it is difficult for you to throw grenades to another location then the one you are moving to. You may try Static Discharge Engineer (http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Engineer_-_Static_Discharge) this is not the easiest build to play but it has not much ground targeted skills so you may find it easier for you to play.
(except there are very few teams)
If this is right, where is the problem then? If there a very few teams there can’t be many fights solo vs teams.
don’t allow teams to join ranked
Matchmaking must get improved but this would drive the last remaining players out of PvP. I know that I and many that I know would stop PvP if we are getting forced to play Skyhammer and so on just because we want to PvP with a friend or two.
Why do my ports say no valid path
They fixed teleports and blinks a while back.
Nope, they fixed some bugs and introduced new bugs.
I’m what you call absolutely mouth breathingly kittenedly bad at spvp. So literally 99% of the entire game must be better then me.
Sometimes, after fighting the same group the third time in a row, I’m not sure that there are more than 100 People playing at a time. So if 99% are better then you that would be all 99 other plasyers. :-(
There is an account MMR and an class MMR. AFAIK matchmaking uses both. (25% class MMR)
or maybe quickly discuss some tactics before the match, but that actually rarely happens.
If this happens rarely on your matches you are doing something wrong.
OK, sometimes nobody answers but you should at least try to discuss about tactics, builds, split and so on with your team. In my experience in the most cases at least some answer you. In a full premade team there is no need for this as roles and builds are well known.
So when I ask people about their build and who goes where or who takes treb and nobody answers I am doing something wrong? What kind of backwards logic is that?
You sounded like you didn’t even try it, and that would be your fault. That you always get no answers is really odd. As I wrote sometimes nobody answers but in my matches most of the times I get answers.
There is one thing we can agree on, profession dailies were a horrible idea.
You are right, they are a really bad idea. But they are not the reason for this crap. If you check the first screenshot closely you will see that on this day Elementalist and Ranger where daily but the match is full with Thief (6 Thief and “only” 3 Ranger).

OK there is much class stacking but at least the first match is quite balanced. ;-)
Many people play classes they know nothing about just for the dailies. So they spoil matches for the other players which try to win. This wouldn’t change with personal class dailies or armor class dailies. The best solution is to replace it with something totally different or daily wins without class restriction.
Sorry to tell you that but 100 games is not much. You have still a LOT to learn.
If anything these two classes need buffs because they are less viable in high level play.
Is there any decent Map-Guide explaining the Secondary Mechanics of each map? Primary how and when to use it and when not.
I’m fed up with people doing Svanir instead of Mid and getting it stolen by enemy thief, loosing Mid while getting Ferocity or any other stupid newbie move.
Matchmaking: it should create teams with no more than one/two people with the same class. But this does not happen.
I’ve played in team with 3 Rangers, Thieves or Necros, against team packed in good way. Obviously the chance to lose these matches is really high.
The biggest source of class stacking are the PvP class dailies. They should chance this or remove them.
The other problem is the picking of the map…why the hell if just one man out of 10 chose that f***ing courtyard, the system picks that map?? 1 vote against 9…unbelievable.
In this case the chances for courtyard are 10%. So it can be chosen but this happen rarely. I can’t see the problem here.
And least but not last, a suggestion: leave thatkitten***g orrible courtyard map from the other maps.
Every game-mode (Conquest, Team Deathmatch, Stronghold) need a separate queue.
But if others cannot see that progression via a visible indicator (title, finisher, gear, whatever), then what’s the point of becoming a better player?
It’s like playing invisibly- only you know and no one else does. Kind of defeats the purpose of being an MMO if your achievements are visible only to yourself. If we “just wanted to get better”, then we might as well play an offline game and hone our skills quietly in the darkness!
There is an easy solution to this. Revert the current grind based leaderboard to the old MMR based leaderboard.
complaining about other classes/builds will never end until we are all fighting with sticks and rocks.
Nope, sure as hell there will be some guys complaining “sticks and rocks are OP please nerf”.
At the moment many people farm for their beta key so PvP is even less populated. Lesser population means fewer matchmaking options.
I don’t think people are avoiding ranked PvP because of beta key farming. Check your friends list and see how many are actually farming.
If they ARE choosing to mindlessly farm versus PvP, then that is even more indicative of problems with this game.
Sadly quite a few (20-30%). I have even asked some why the farm for this beta key an got told that they are hoping that Stronghold will be included in the beta.
But you are absolutely right these has many reasons. Bad leaderboard is definitely another reason for this.
