Any word on if there is an undocumented bonus aspect to this sickle like the pick gave sprockets? Just like the pick, the description in the store makes no mention of a bonus. You had to buy the pick to then find out via its item description that it had the extra “feature” on it.
lol
Well, glad to hear it’s fixed now. I use that ‘hold title bar to keep window from losing focus or minimizing’ trick often but I hadn’t considering trying that. Nice job
Hmm.
Can make sure of this as well:
Run As Admin
When you approach an asura gate in a main city it still says “Lion’s Arch Asura Gate” despite actually taking you to the Vigil Keep in Gendarren Fields. I think this was an aspect that needed to be changed/updated that was missed/not considered when the LS content was being developed.
So far I’ve only checked The Grove and Rata Sum gates and both state they go to Lion’s Arch. May check the others for consistency, but it is likely none of them were updated.
The black image in the center with the slightly red edges looks like an error dialogue box, likely a connection lost issue thing. What you can try doing is clicking on your running GW2 application on the task bar to make it the active window and then hitting your ESC key and/or your ENTER key to try to get that error box to close. Your program should return to its maximized state after that box is closed.
Alternatively, you can end task GW2 in your task manager or right-click your running GW2 in the task bar and try to close it that way. Relaunching the game should work normally again.
I went further into it a few posts down from that as well.
Clear the game cache
Most TP-specific issues are primarily related to some temporary GW2 files where removing them will allow them to be recreated and the TP to function properly again.
The quickest way to clear the GW2 Cache is to:
If your search for “gw2cache” does not produce the folder I mentioned, then you will need to enable hidden files and folders in order to delete this cache folder.
Make hidden files visible and clear the game cache
—note—
By “window menus” I mean up at the top of the window where it says “File Edit View Tools Help”. If that bar does not display in your window for you along the top, then click the drop-down arrow next to the word “Organize” and then click on “Layout” and select “Menu bar” to enable showing of the menus (attached image #2).Another way to do Steps 3, 4 and 5 to make hidden folders visible is:
- Click your Start menu and then open Control Panel
- In your Control Panel, if items are sorted by “Category” then select “Appearance and Personalization” on the right side, then in the second bottom area under “Folder Options” click on “Show hidden files and folders”. This will open the same options dialogue box shown in attached image #1.
- Otherwise, if Control Panel is sorted by Icons, simply click on “Folder Options” from the list to bring up the options dialogue box shown in attached image #1.
Supposedly it is a safety precaution to prevent players from “losing” their windows in the event they are dragged off-screen. It is to prevent the issue of people contacting support or posting here and stating that their windows are missing.
However, you do not need to move much of the window off-screen for the window reset to kick in. If more than a few pixels of the window are off-screen then the system thinks you have accidentally moved the whole thing off-screen and it resets it to default.
It’s horrible, especially since there is so much wasted space taken up by the excessive and pointless borders of the windows and we cannot even hide those elements by moving them off-screen a little bit.
no love for sylvari :/
1. texture clipping with own set pants in back area
2. oversized boots model, making legs look ridicilously fat and clipping with backpiece
Hey, I also mentioned this butt clipping issue (page 14) as well as the pretty bad issue of the inside texture of the skirt not aligning with the outside texture. Also, as you mentioned, the massive scaling issue for gloves, boots and shoulders still exists. Can’t even use the boots or shoulders due to how ridiculous they look. It’s even much worse on male sylvari than females due to them seeming to use the scaling for shoulders, boots and gloves that is used on super large charr or norn. I really want to keep buying these armor sets, but when these issues go unfixed and ignored for so long, why should I? There is also a massive amount of red texture bleeding on the aetherblade heavy set on asura (as well as red texture bleeding on a ton of other armors, human light T3 pants included). These and other issues have been reported many times, yet nothing has been done about them despite being gem store armor. Can’t even wear most of the pieces from these armor sets due to their issues.
If something does not change and these gem store armors (and regular armors) do not start getting the attention they need, then I think no future gem store purchases will be made.

No. Becoming account bound for a Fine quality items sounds normal. The back item still becomes soulbound on selecting stat at the ascended level.
Adding an upgrade component to a fine quality item (or any item with an upgrade slot) has always made it soulbound and we were presented with a warning stating this. Now it is account bound without a warning.
Regarding the new back item (sub-ascended), selecting stats presents a warning stating that selecting stats will make it soulbound, yet it it makes it account bound.
I’m not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but the last few days I have done things that normally would soulbind an item (placing a sigil on an equipped Fine quality weapon, and other cases like selecting stats on the new back item), yet it appears to instead be made account bound.
Is Anet silently going away from soulbound items to instead have most things account bound?
I’m not complaining, I welcome the change. I just find it odd that there did not seem to be any mention of this adjustment in functionality.
I just pointed out a clipping issue on female sylvari where the ‘underwear’ of the armor clips right through the back end of the skirt of the armor.
Just wanted to warn others of this and to maybe hold off on getting the armor (for a female sylvari) until it gets fixed as it is pretty bad most of the time.
ALSO
The inside texture of the skirt does not match up with the outside texture of the skirt on both sides.

Zodiac Medium Armor – Clipping With Self + Misaligned Textures
Species: Sylvari
Gender: Female
Class: Medium Armor
Item: Zodiac Medium Armor (Gem Store)
Issue: Armor clips with itself
Description:
Zodiac medium armor on female sylvari has the ‘underwear’ part of the armor clipping right through the back of the skirt of the same Zodiac armor. It is usually worse than this image shows.
ALSO
The inside texture of the skirt does not match up with the outside texture of the skirt on both sides. The result is a large transparent gap where no skirt is visible when looking at the character from the front due to seeing between the textures.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Would you look at that. Almost 8 months of it being reported and all it took to get it fixed was them to release a Gem Store armor with particle effects and the issue was fixed in less than 2 days.
I’m sure these are fixed now as well:
Really, it seems that if an issue needs to be fixed then we need to find some way to show that it causes an issue with LS (slayer potions) or the Gem Store (Zodiac Armor with particle effects) for it to get fixed.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Posting for informative purposes.
The patch notes claim that the armor now should work properly with phantasms.
Cannot comfirm as I’m not mesmer, but just so you guys know.
I’m very interested to hear if this fix also fixes They also fixed the long standing issue of Radiant armor causing issues with phantasms. I think it also has fixed the issues of Radiant armor with Juggernaut and Radiant armor with stealth as well. Really, it seems that if an issue needs to be fixed then we need to find some way to show that it causes an issue with LS (slayer potions) or the Gem Store (armor particle effects and phantasms) for it to get fixed. Them finally fixing the Radiant armor issues in two days after 8+ months of begging for it to be addressed, then all that reporting and pointless and accomplished nothing because it wasn’t related to the gem store (achievement armor, legendary weapons). It took a gem store armor with particles experiencing the problem to get it fixed within a day or two because it could potentially hurt gem sales. This behavior saddens me.
(tested Radiant gloves with phantasms and it has been fixed…finally. Updated my post to reflect this)

On Eredon Terrace we seem to have very friendly players taking part in LA. I’ve not encountered a group yet that did not prioritize ressing players. I constantly see “TY” and “YW” (and friendly variations) in map chat due to players actually being nice and helpful. I’ve only ever seen a single player say something like “If you are dead, respawn and run back”…not only was it ignored, it was an irrelevant statement as everyone seems to res everyone else, even from total death. I think this one person who said to run back was just one of ‘those players’; one who begs for others to help them, but tells others to run back instead of returning the favor. People just ignore those people and their ‘take care of yourself and screw everyone else’ messages, we help eachother.
I even try to take note of players who help me out, and hit the screenshot button often to record player names. I later send messages of thanks with some type of a token of appreciation for their kindness as to help encourage their selfless acts in the future…many return the gifts and express that they do not need a reward for helping, that helping another is reward enough in itself.
Thanks, Eredon Terrace. Many of you restore my faith in gamers, and even humanity as a whole.
Fantastic to hear of this change and the diligence to see it through to implementation so soon. Thank you very much for considering and making the change, Curtis and Anet.
I think there is an issue to where participating in and successfully completing those defend events do not count toward the achievement if you’ve not first talked to the NPC at the refugee camps and then advance the LS tracker to tell you to enter LA. Going into LA without first talking to the NPC refugee director guy seems to cause some achievements to not get tracked properly due to the LS tracker not being advanced.
“A Land Restored” but it isn’t the version that is on the OST.
I just went through my entire soundtrack and could not find this alternate form.
I was pretty sure it was on the OST, or at least at the end half of a track, but I cannot find it. I guess I must have always heard it while in-game and not when I listen to the OST.

Perhaps someone watching this thread can answer a question for me.
Blade back item is currently Account Bound.
It says that if I select stats then the back item becomes soulbound.
Q:
If I select stats on one version (ex. rare), do those lower stats get locked to it even if I upgrade it to a higher version (ex. exotic)? Does upgrading a soulbound one to a higher tier version in the mystic forge revert it to no stats and account bound again?
It might show up in the store in 2 minutes when the daily resets. Odd that they would have it on a timer to become available like other items that are released at scheduled times instead of immediately available with the new update.
kitten… my download is going at the speed of Anet…
I only download at about 180kb/s
Just hit 210 MBs downloaded and I started patching literally the second they made it available. 4,600 files remaining. Looks like it is time to leave the forums to avoid spoilers.
Enjoy the game when you get in.

Gem Store tab bugged when it was loading for me yesterday and it looked like that. Switching tabs and back corrected it for me. If that does not fix it for you then closing and re-opening the TP might work. Or perhaps a gw2cache clearing will be necessary if it persists.
TP always has some kind of issue going on with it (usually many issues at once), especially their recent issue of awesomium_process.exe closing when you close your TP and having to re-launch it every single time, unlike its previous behavior of opening once and running in the background so it doesn’t have to re-load every single time. And the other recent issue of not being able to use any keyboard keybinds after interacting with the TP interface to where you have to click off of the TP just to be able to type in chat or bring up your map or even move your character or anything. I’m surprised the TP doesn’t break more often considering it is still the temporary one that was quickly and poorly thrown together in beta that was not meant to be permanent. Also, how doing a search for one thing actually excludes the results for the thing you selected to search for from being shown is acceptable TP behavior to them I do not know. Hopefully March will bring us a proper TP. I mean, it’s only been a year and a half with this “temporary” and broken one.
Ahh well still we’re talking long in future, I asume PC problems won’t be that much of an issue in 5 years from now since ANet is really working well on the optimization.
Also Ele Power, summoi Giant Earth Elemental like the Centaur boss?
“PC” stands for “Player Character”
Like “NPC” stands for “Non-Player Character” (or Non-Playable Character)
Not “PC” as in “Personal Computer”
I was always in Divinity’s Reach as my hub. I love it there. Unfortunately for me, several patches ago they messed something up (again) and it started to take 45 seconds to over a minute for DR to load into, and then half graphics weren’t loaded (invisible floor and map taking 30 additional seconds to load up properly). Sadly, this forced me to leave DR and I have since made Rata Sum my new home. I love DR, but a whole minute just to get into DR (plus 30 more seconds after loading just to see where I’m going) versus 8-10 second loading time into Rata Sum with everything loaded perfectly (plus closer bank/Gbank/TP) …I’ll take Rata Sum until they fix their stuff (if ever).
Volcanus and COF chest piece with Hellfire armors
I don’t know which is more disappointing; that the helm was released to the 9k achievement chest with no thought given to how asura ears would clip right through the sides of it, or the fact that it still has not been fixed…
Makes me very sad.
Skipping enemies, speed runs, kicking and spot selling, stacking/LoS exploiting (I don’t care what you say, it is to me)…some of the reasons I will not do dungeons in GW2. I have issues with the poor “dungeon” design,“bosses” and dungeon armor designs as well, but other players are the main reason I stay clear of dungeons in GW2.
stacking made you quit dungeons? Lol. ignorance truly is bliss for you huh
I did not say I quit dungeons due to stacking. How you got that I do not know.
I would also like you to elaborate on your “ignorance” statement.

I think it would be quite interesting to see the Queen’s Watchwork Soldiers as playable after Scarlet’s story has passed and she is done hijacking them. Armor designs could be replacement parts ala Cyborg Justice from Sega Genesis days. Instead of wearing clothing, an armor skin is a different aesthetically designed mechanical component. I think I’ll fantasize about this for a while and play it out and design the different component appearances in my mind as it would likely never, ever happen in GW2. Actually, I think I’ll draw the designs as a little project.
Use the dye remove tool on all dye slots for that armor piece and save the changes. Then go back and re-dye to your liking and it should dye properly from now on.

Then:
I have multiples of several professions up to 80. I even currently have 4 level 80 rangers; male sylvari, female asura, female human, female norn. I used to have an 80 male charr ranger as well, but he didn’t survive a horrible clipping incident. Though I now have a charr guardian (charrdian) since heavy armor seems to be the only decent looking armor for charr. If you get tired of a character, or want to enjoy leveling the character again, making a duplicate or one with a minor appearance change can be cheaper than a makeover kit, and the old can also be used for more storage.
Result: 1c loss on the sale.
The point is, Projected Profit does not include the Listing Fee, only sell price minus 5% sales fee. In the above example you are actually paying 1c to get rid of the item instead of vending it. Scale these values higher and the loss is even greater.
Before listing an item, be sure to manually subtract the Listing Fee from the Projected Profit to find out the real amount of coin you’ll get from the entire transaction.
This is if you have no interest in salvaging for Luck or Materials.

Seems it was not the servers and was actually a hiccup in the functionality of a backbone. Some GW2 players affected, some Blizzard players affected, but not all and across the board. Seems it has returned to normal functionality now.
It does seem to have passed. It’s likely Behellagh is right, that it was not another attack but a backbone problem.
Seems Blizzard just got hit as well.
Feels the same as when it happened last time (and the times before that). Forums taking a while to do anything as well. Seems to be the case, but I have not seen anything elsewhere online of others being attacked. Strange time of night to make an attack on US servers…it’s not prime time.

You may want to check your system audio Surround Sound settings to ensure it is configured to be 2-channel Stereo as GW2 does not support 5.1+ surround sound. Perhaps also check your audio utility in your task bar (if you use one) for a surround sound button to see if it is enabled there as well.
Surround sound being enabled would prevent certain sounds from being sent to your speakers/headphones. As you can hear others’ sounds but not your own, it sounds like this may be the culprit.
Here is some more information, screenshots and steps to resolve it if you need them.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Sounds-coming-only-to-my-right-earphone/1682587
However, if you would also like to run a repair on your client to see if there are damaged audio files:
Check the game for errors and repair it
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Two things to note.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Also check the ability of your files to be written to as it sounds like something is read only and has to be re-downloaded each time.
Then:
May still need to re-download this file one time after this change is made but future loadings should not. Perhaps load your client twice to make sure it has fixed the problem.
Also:
Check the game for errors and repair it
Check the game for errors and repair it
If that does not solve the issue:
Delete the local.dat file
Deleting this file will also cause you to lose your saved game settings (graphics, stored login data, etc.) but may fix the problem. If you rely on your stored login info to log in, make sure you can recall what your login info is as the stored login info is also cleared.
The quickest way to do this is to:
