Suggestion: Winter Wonderland JP Checkpoint

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

There actually was a single use checkpoint there as an option to players. Tixx gave you a present at that platform to take with you and deliver at the end to earn more rewards, but if you fall then you lose the present but restart one time at the present wall for another shot. I believe that was how it had worked.

They’ve removed that this year.

Yeah…my ‘sigher’ is already broken from their other decisions, so I can’t sigh at this sad and unnecessary change. :\

More gold. Yet another set I have no interest in because of that.

I agree, they are really well-designed. However, with our inability to dye weapons still, their insistence on using gold on so many of the weapon and back skins they release really turns me away from even considering getting them. So very disappointing.

Maybe next time. :\

Those should go in a separate ‘effects’ section in the wardrobe, not using up gear skins.

Same for other visuals that are potions now, like the Selfless halo. There should be a way to unlock them as effects.

I completely agree. Same with the polyundulating refractors and such. :\

Help With Selling On Tp

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Depending on what you are listing, do not worry about being undercut by other listers. Turnover on many items is very fast.

My bit of advice:
Keep an eye out for the ‘clot’ and list just below that. Even if many others get listed lower than yours, yours will likely sell with no problem in a short amount of time.

A clot is basically the large supply that gets whittled away at after the lesser amounts constantly posted below it get bought up quickly.

If you see thousands listed at every copper, then there is suddenly several listings that are small amounts that skip copper, those are sure to be bought up quickly, so your listing just below the clot is likely a safe amount to list at.

example:
1s: 12
1s8c: 74
1s20c: 318
1s21c: 34
1s29c: 750
1s32c: 131
1s40c: 2 <— amount safe to list at and have a semi-quick sale
1s41c: 13,184 <— clot (whittled away at)
1s42c: 11,211
1s43c: 9,643
1s44c: 10,844

1s41c is the clot. Everything cheaper than it usually sells very quickly, so listing your stuff at 1s40c is a safe amount even if someone does something silly like listing 1,750 up at 1s29c instead of only 750. Their stacks will sell and so will yours.

Now if someone skips ahead and posts 11,750 at 1s29c, they’ve artificially made a new clot that existing demand will not likely eat through in addition to the lesser amounts that get posted lower than it. They’ve essentially forced the item to begin selling for a lower amount. Many items actually do eat through this highly-undercutting re-clot due to the demand for the item, but it can take a few days.

I’ve actually been seeing this re-clot happen a lot on several items in the past few weeks.

Some think it is due to prices suddenly being very high for items that people stocked up on while they were dirt cheap. That these players are dumping large amounts of them far below the established clot so that they can try to get as much coin as possible for their supply before demand starts to disappear and prices decline. However, I’ve even seen some dip into theories of it actually being ANet creating these item walls (leathers mainly) and dumping a large amount of them as a temporary stopgap to help keep the price for these items from getting insanely high while they make adjustments to drop rates for the materials due to the demand being higher than was accounted for. Again, just some theories for why these massive amounts are showing up. Who knows.

New nightfury like shoulders this Wintersday

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

I’m withholding my enthusiasm until I see how much it ultimately costs. Looking at you, Nightfury.

It does look really neat, though, so I’m hoping it won’t include any components that cost an arm and a leg.

The info so far reads like it will be craftable via the mystic forge after getting all of the collection items awarded via RNG for grinding repeatedly completing Wintersday activities.

Sigils
It’s shoulder armor, why would it use sigils in its forge recipe and not runes?
Anyway, depending on what sigils are needed, I expect the supply to get bought up immediately and jacked up in price. So this is one area where it can potentially become very costly if you do not already have the sigils. Then again, perhaps the sigils will be the ones that drop from the Wintersday gifts so we’ll get a supply of them simply by opening the gifts earned via doing the activities to get the collection items.

Collection Items
I’m sure each activity will award a piece needed for the collection and the collection itself gives you an account bound item that gets used in the forge. It is said that the RNG is low enough that you get a piece for the collection like every 3rd completion of an activity. If all we have to do is play each Wintersday activity ~3 times to get its piece, then that’s not too bad.

Then again, it’s disappointing to me that I would need to play the PvP activity to get its collection piece as I do not like PvP at all. I feel even worse for those not able to do jumping puzzles, let alone needing to do it ~3 times, who would then not be able to get the piece awarded for doing that activity.

I highly doubt it, but perhaps the collection items will be tradeable. I doubt they will be, but if they are tradeable, I expect those items may cost a bit if one wanted/needed to sidestep completing the activity that awards them.

Takes 35-40 seconds to open from the launcher

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Is the other computer using the same anti-virus program as the one where it has the delayed launching? If so, is it configured the same way as on the slow-loading PC?

Whether the same AV or different, you may want to check the active protection setting on the slow-loading PC to see if it is scanning all executable programs. Perhaps it is delaying launch due to scanning the executable and it takes longer than it should.

Just a thought. I notice Avast causing a 15-30sec delay in launching some games as it scans them. Adding the game executables to the exceptions list helps prevent the scanning delay every time I launch them.

As for why it only cropped up in the last few weeks, if it is this causing the delay, perhaps the AV software updated to a new program version and its scanning of executable files is behaving differently.

This may not be the cause, but it’s something to look into.

Inability to gift Wintersday Glider intended

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

If support’s response was:

Just checked myself it seems that is how it’s supposed to be. I apologize for the inconvenience.

And it was actually not intended. Shouldn’t support have, I don’t know, actually asked someone who would know if it was intended or not before telling the OP (a customer) that “it seems that is how it’s supposed to be”?

Isn’t it their job to actually find the answer to the customer’s support inquiry regarding whether something was intended or a bug/oversight?

I’ve always had fantastic dealings with support, but I’ve heard horror stories. Has the quality of support provided really dipped to this level?

I love the use of the term, “new technology” used to describe an animation applied to the skill bar for revenant swaps. As if it’s some amazing breathrough or something.

Anyways, someone should develop a plug-in for Chrome that blocks Vayne’s nonsensical forum posts. That’s some “new technology” I could get behind.

ANet and other businesses that use that kind of exaggerative speech to describe something that is barely noteworthy has always made me groan. Its use actually tells me quite a lot about a company and the state of their product(s).
ANet uses it a lot, disappointingly. Though they didn’t always.

I had actually made my own extension when I used Opera 12 that I could add a person’s account name to a list and it’ll automatically hide their entire comment blocks while viewing threads. Basically my own block/hide feature for the forums. I finally left O12 to use Firefox some time ago and haven’t converted it over for use here yet. I should look into porting it to FF and Chrome sometime.

Hmm, the verbiage is strangely similar in these two posts from different users. Each user only has one post in their history (this one).

So, I don’t really expect anyone to, but I hit 80 a while ago and in terms of what the people in my guild are doing, I’m unable to participate because I don’t have the expansion. If a super kind-hearted soul could buy me HoT that would be amazing!! That being said I know it’s a lot and honestly I’ll be amazed if I get a reply >.<

Prodical, please consider putting your desire back up unchanged! I understand that it can be hard to put something into the right words, especially when asking for something. Cannot resize mini map height.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Have you tried to drag the map (holding the bar on the right side of it) to its other available position to see if that helps reset it so it can be fully resized as desired?

  • e.g. If it is in the bottom right, drag it to the top right (or top dragged to bottom)

Not sure if it will have any effect, but it may be something worth trying if it has not been yet.

Also, depending on what interface size you are using, you could try changing it to the opposite and back to see if the resizing helps ‘correct’ the behavior of the mini-map.

  • e.g. If on ‘Large’ change it to ‘Small’ and then back to ‘Large’ (or small, change to large then back to small)

Just thinking of some quick things that could be tested to help fix it. The other options would include running a repair on the client and/or clearing the stored preferences to see if it helps fix it.

Old Inventory Items

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

You get charges from killing things. On a busy day I get more than from the old daily method.
The minis can be gotten during wintersday which starts in a week and a few days.

Where, usually, do they drop? From which enemies?

I’ve been playing for around a week or so and I haven’t seen one drop yet.

I’ve been buying some ugly hats while they’re cheap to prepare for wintersday.

Bit of confusion here:

The 2 Transmutation Stones you have (yellow) can be deleted as converting them into one of the current Transmutation Charges requires possessing 3 of them.

Transmutation Charges are not gotten via killing things as was previously mentioned up there. The quickest and easiest way to get more T-Charges is to ‘map complete’ any map (all POIs, Vistas, Waypoints, etc), which grants a single T-Charge upon completion. Otherwise, you would need to earn gold via your preferred gameplay and convert that gold to gems (or buy gems straight with real money) to buy T-Charges at the Gem Store.

Now, as ‘racial cities’ are maps that can be completed, if you have an empty character slot then you can easily get 2 quick T-Charges in about 10-12 minutes (6-8 is possible if the run is fully optimized, but realistically you could expect between 8 and 10 minutes to perform a T-Charge run):

  • Make a new character (I recommend Sylvari as their training instance seems to be the one that can be completed quickest)
  • Once out of the training instance, go to and map complete The Grove and Rata Sum
  • Consume the earned charges to add them to your wallet
  • Delete the character and repeat as often as you need T-Charges

I recommend only doing The Grove and Rata Sum as you could re-create and re-map these two zones over again for 2 more T-Charges by the time you map complete a single one of the other racial cities for 1 T-Charge due to those maps being much larger and the map elements more spaced out.

I hope this helps clarify a bit with the T-Charges and their acquisition.

MainMenu not functioning[Fixed]

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Main menu music changed when HoT released and is working fine for me. If you are sure that your music volume is not muted in the audio options, consider running a repair cycle on your client to see if a file is damaged that is preventing it from playing for you:

  • Close your game/launcher completely
  • Right-click your game shortcut and select ‘Properties’
  • On the ‘Shortcut’ tab, the first line says “Target:”, immediately after the end quotation mark in this field, put a space and then add -repair
It will look like this (but with your installation location):
    “F:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -repair
  • Again, make sure there is a space between the " and -repair
  • Run the shortcut and it’ll repair the game files if any are damaged.
  • After the repair is finished, close the launcher, remove the -repair argument (including the space) that you added and run the game as normal to see if it’s fixed.

(it is likely that the repair will dip into the ‘not responding’ state often, but it should finish properly after a few minutes or so, but a repair may take up to about 30 minutes to complete depending on your system specs)

[QoL Request] Guild Bank Right-Click Options

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

As it is right now, when you right-click on an item in the guild bank:

  • you are only given “Preview” as an option regardless of if you right-click a piece of armor/weapon or if it is a piece of food or crafting material.

Could we have actual right-click options for items in the guild bank please?
I’d like to be able to right-click an item while it is in the bank and see:

  • Buy more at Trading Post
Could this also extend to items in our personal banks? Items placed into the material storage have “Buy more at Trading Post” as an option, but not items stored in our actual bank tabs.
  • Withdraw
(and then automatically given the split dialogue box for stacked items)
Much like our personal bank’s material storage has this option on items, if we have the proper guild bank permissions for a tab then we should have this option for the items contained in it.

Q.
Any other Guild Bank item right-click dialogue options anyone else would like to see added?

(I know we all want to be able to merge stacks in the guild bank without needing to withdraw both stacks, merge them and then place them back into the guild bank…among other abilities/features. I’m asking for additional desires for item right-click dialogue options)

Apparently the game doesn’t like my logging off on the platform for the goggles. I logged back in with it to port someone to them and I was down on top of the blimp.

I’ve been trying all night to get back to there and find a safe spot to log out on. I’m not sure if one of the jutting pipes will be alright to log out on and not be on the blimp when I log back in. We shall see.

So as of right now, I cannot port to the goggles yet, but I have a few names of people who have alts parked at it that might be asked if they could help you out.

I’ll keep trying.

Not So Secret - Diving Goggles

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Doesn’t getting a portal to get the ‘achievement’ kind of invalidate the ‘achievement’?

Still, I guess some folks cheat at solitaire, so …

The portal to the goggles does not give the achievement. You must actually grab the goggles and do the dive ‘properly’ to get the achievement. The portal just saves the jumper 30-90 minutes of making their way back up to the goggles after their inevitable failed jump.

If the NSS diving goggles were like any other goggles (save for dry top), where you get them and jump and you’re good, that’s one thing, but they are not.

A player can spend 30-90 minutes to get to the top to get the goggles, and then they have to jump blindly into the void and hope that they don’t hit the intentionally placed obstacles on the way down. When they do (I’ve not heard of anyone doing it on their first try), then they die and need to waypoint outside of the puzzle, go all the way back in, spend another 30-90 minutes to get back up there only to die on the jump again.

The task itself is not designed to be challenging, where successfully completing it gives a sense of satisfaction – it is designed to be frustrating with unnecessary obstacles that defy logic (even in a world that has magic) simply because the designer desired to make success more based on luck than on skill.

Challenge and award me for my skills, not for my ability to throw away hours doing the same thing without destroying my keyboard/throwing my mouse in the hopes of getting lucky enough one time to not hit some jutting pipe or two after jumping blindly and passing through a huge and pointless rock that lacks collision because reasons. Even then, people have survived the jump into the water successfully without touching anything on the way down and not been awarded the achievement due to some bug or whatever. That is not fun. It is not fun.

I will get a mesmer up there for you today, Lanfear. I’ll mail you in-game when I do and see if you still need me to help.

I see many mesmers duo porting – one from the waypoint to the chest, the second from the chest to the goggles – so I do not think a single mesmer portal at the goggles can reach the outside of the mountain to port players up from the waypoint/outside to the goggle spot.

I have a mesmer on the chest, but not one up at the goggles. If I can get one up there then I could then port to the chest with Mes1, swap to the Mes2 at the goggles and then port up from the chest to the goggles.

I’ll try to get one up to the goggles tonight. If I do I’ll let you know and will be at your disposal for as long as you need me, if you still need it by the time I manage to do it.

Ping doubled using 64bit client

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: StinVec.3621

It is possible that it is just coincidence in timing and your ping issues are unrelated to the client bit version considering your ping remains high even after returning to the 32-bit client. I say this as others are suddenly experiencing ping/lag issues who previously had no issues (here, maybe here also), so it is possible that it may be related to whatever is causing that and not the client bit version. Sorry I cannot help further. May want to check into that tech thread and add your trace results to see if the problem can be pinpointed.

Graphical issue, blue screen/unplayable

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Hiya. The first thing I’d recommend doing is making sure your graphics drivers are updated to their latest version, or if you prefer to use older drivers, at least attempting a re-installation of those older drivers.

If you need help finding the latest drivers for your card, just make note of your GPU model and Windows/bit version and I’d gladly help with linking you to the latest drivers for your card.

If a driver update/re-install does not solve the problem, try running a repair on your client. I know you stated that you had installed the game fully (fresh?), but there may still be a damaged file that a repair cycle would likely fix.

It’s likely the graphics drivers, though, but if you want to try the repair and need a hand performing it:

  • Close your game/launcher completely
  • Right-click your game shortcut and select ‘Properties’
  • On the ‘Shortcut’ tab, the first line says “Target:”, immediately after the end quotation mark in this field, put a space and then add -repair
It will look like this (but with your installation location):
    “F:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -repair
  • Again, make sure there is a space between the " and -repair
  • Run the shortcut and it’ll repair the game files if any are damaged.
  • After the repair is finished, close the launcher, remove the -repair argument you added and run the game as normal to see if it’s fixed.

(it is likely that the repair will dip into the ‘not responding’ state often, but it should finish properly after a few minutes or so, but a repair may take up to about 30 minutes to complete depending on your system specs)

Game not starting up

Aphrael
It sounds to me like your issue may be related to Windows UAC.

  • Try right-clicking your GW2 shortcut and clicking ‘Properties’
  • Then, on the ‘Compatibility’ tab, enable the checkbox for ‘Run As Admin’ at the bottom
  • Hit ‘OK’ to save the change and close the Properties dialog box
  • Try starting the game again from this shortcut

Interpretor
I’d recommend the same thing, but your issue is not persistent and you are able to load the game properly once after starting your computer. I cannot think of a cause for it to run fine once, but not again afterward. I’ll try to think of another possible cause and/or solution for this.

Actually, after you run the game fine once and close it, check to see if Gw2.exe is still running in your Task Manager. If the game is not closing properly and is technically still running in the background, then another instance of the game would not be able to be started up. If Gw2.exe isn’t closing properly and this is the cause of the problem, then we can look to see what could be causing it to not close properly.

Also, are you both using the standard 32-bit executable or are either of you using the 64-bit BETA executable?

Client Newsfeed Not Loading [Merged]

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

I’ve had this issue since the last update as well. I can log in just fine, but the newsfeed only has the spinning wheel. After loading a character I also encoutner the higher ping and extreme delays in actions and 30+second load times to even view an item on the TP.

I’m going to try using the command line arguments to completely bypass the loading of the launcher/login to see if it can be a temporary workaround for the issue until it eventually gets fixed:

  • -email emailaddress -password mypassword -nopatchui

My guess is that the newsfeed is constantly trying to connect and load in the background even after loading into the game and it is dominating the bandwidth and/or causing a client>server communication issue.

AFK raiders ruining Verdant Brink meta

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

The last SAB had a lobby instance after entering into the portal, where you then made groups and went into the different stages. It is quite sad (not surprising, but sad nonetheless) that they didn’t foresee to use their own existing tech/framework for raids as well considering it is obvious that this would be an issue for the entire map and its event structure.

Human or Sylvari for medium armor?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Personally, I find that I prefer female sylvari to all other species/gender combinations available.

Perhaps it is due to my liking things that glow, or perhaps it is due to their having a great running animation (human female had theirs changed for no reason to an awful, stiff, ‘manly’ one a long time ago), or it may be due to many of their other unique aesthetics.

I do dress-up a lot and I also frequently adjust or overhaul entire appearances of my characters. Kind of the main thing I do in GW2.

Here are some of my medium armor sylvari and human females in case it may help you in making your decision.

Remember, you can always make both, and even many of both, eventually.
:)

Again, I used to really enjoy playing my human females until the running animation change, at which point I abandoned them. However, seeing as you will only be experiencing the ‘new’ human female running animation, you will be less likely to be irked at this change that ruined them for me and you may like (or at least not mind) it.

Who knows, perhaps you won’t like the female sylvari running animation after a while and prefer the human’s.

Anyway, I recommend making both and playing with them to get a feel for the species’ movements to see if that has any effect on your choice before you put a bunch of money/coin/time into fashioning and leveling them.

I hope you’ll let us know what you decide in the end! And please feel free to post pics of your mix-n-match armor after you get yourself fashioned up how you’d like over in the Mix-n-Match Armor thread.

PSA: Char Select - L/R switches character

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Just to mention for those that did not realize this has finally been implemented, in addition to the ‘Activate’ key logging into a character (implemented some time ago), you can now switch between your characters using your directional keyboard keys.

So you can now move left/right between your characters with the keyboard and log into the selected one with your activate key.

One issue:
It seems to be only partially implemented though. If you have 8+ characters (meaning more than one ‘panel’ of characters), when you move from the character in slot #7 to slot #8, the 8th character is, indeed, selected. However, the portrait panel does not slide to the right to show the second panel of characters that includes the 8th character that you now have selected. You would need to manually click the > arrow to display the next panel of characters.

Just an FYI for those that have been waiting for this little QoL function to be added.

Transparent tail since 28 July Update

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Many people experience graphical glitches like this when there is a problematic or damaged file in the game archive. These issues are normally fixed by running a repair cycle.

Have you tried running a repair on your client yet to see if it fixes it for you?

If you have not, I recommend doing a repair cycle on your client to see if it fixes the issue.

If you need a hand doing that:
Check the game for errors and repair it

  • Close your game/launcher
  • Right-click your game shortcut and select ‘Properties’
  • On the ‘Shortcut’ tab, the first line says “Target:”, immediately after the end quotation marks in this field, put a space and then add -repair
It will look like this (but with your installation location):
    “F:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -repair
  • Make sure there is a space between the " and -repair
  • Run the shortcut and it’ll repair the game files if any are damaged.
  • After the repair is finished, close the launcher, remove the -repair argument you added and run the game as normal to see if it’s fixed.

(it is likely that the repair will dip into the ‘not responding’ state often, but it should finish properly after a few minutes or so)

Otherwise, it may be related to your graphics drivers and you may need to reinstall them if the repair does not fix it.

Mini Tiger in gem store

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Just mentioning that the gem store suddenly has a Mini Tiger available for 350 gems for those that are interested in it.

This is an odd time for an additional item to be added to the store, so perhaps this may be a sign that more updates will come on randomish days instead of always on Tuesdays. I guess we’ll see.

And for those that only read the patch notes/news page to see what items are added to the store in a patch, yesterday’s patch failed to include the Dread Quiver Backpack item as being available.

I honestly expected the Dragonfly backpack to release with the Glittering weapon set as it shares the same particle effect as the weapons and is of the same style. Perhaps they pushed that one off last minute until a later time and just tossed the Dread Quiver in its place and failed to include it in the news release/patch notes.

Welp, no Lunatic Guard for me.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’m assuming it is a complaint against Halloween ending and being shorter than normal, so they have missed out on the Guard outfit as it was removed before their pay went in.

Ah, that makes so much more sense lol.

Except the Lunatic Guard outfit is still for sale. For 6 more days.

Was it always on sale for so long or did they extend it? If so perhaps the OP didn’t see it was extended.

I do love a good puzzle after a stressful day at work!

Standard sale behavior; it said “New!” until today’s patch that removed Halloween, at which point it switched to 6 days left.

Using skills with mouse acts like windows key

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: StinVec.3621

Does this happen even if you click on your character portrait at the character select screen, or anywhere else on your screen while in-game, or only when you click on the skill activation icons?

Possibly related:
Do you happen to have any overlay programs running that could cause your mouse click to switch focus to that program instead of staying on GW2?

If you are unsure, perhaps list what programs are running at the same time as you are playing GW2 to help see if any are a problem.

Same trinket twice?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

If you want to have two of the same ‘Unique’ trinket to ‘double-up’ on an infusion type (dual offensive or dual defensive) for a trinket type where both have the same stats, you can go through the process to make one of them “Infused”.

This “Infused” version is different from the standard version so you will be able to equip both this Infused and the standard at the same time.

e.g.

Backpieces to take Oontz glow gem?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

The wiki pretty much says that equipping any item that has it slotted on it will allow the glow to function. As you can equip this gem into a back item, I take this to mean that you can, indeed, slot it in a back item and the glow will work.

However, the wiki also states that the glow effect itself does not affect back items, so your character will be glowing green, but the back item will still appear normally as it is not affected by the glow effect as your character is.

If you have the green spinal blades then this may look acceptable as it already has glowing green elements, but with another back item it may look out of place as it will not have any green glow like the rest of your character.

How to obtain the Pet Seed if you deleted it?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

Sadly, other than by contacting support to see if they can help restore the deleted item, the only way to receive another Pet Seed is to completely craft a new Mysterious Seed into the Mysterious Vine back item to receive a Cultivated Seed, and then craft this seed into the Cultivated Vine back item to receive the Pet Seed all over again.

It is quite an expensive and time-consuming journey to get back to the Pet Seed point, so I hope support is able to replace your previously deleted Pet Seed.

Mysterious Vine

  • Mysterious Seed + Ley Line Infused Clay Pot = Mysterious Seedling
  • Mysterious Seedling + Package of Sacred Plant Food = Mysterious Sprout
  • Mysterious Sprout + Package of Phantasmally Infused Plant Food = Mysterious Vine
    Receive Cultivated Seed

Cultivated Vine

  • Cultivated Seed + Chaos Infused Clay Pot = Cultivated Seedling
  • Cultivated Seedling + Package of Ley Line Dusted Plant Food = Cultivated Sprout
  • Cultivated Sprout + Package of Oasis Soaked Plant Food = Cultivated Shoot
  • Cultivated Shoot + Attuned Grow Lamp = Cultivated Vine
    Receive Pet Seed

On a related note, I was affected by the update that converted everyone’s Mysterious Seed into a Pet Seed and I didn’t bother converting it back and simply went on from that point in the process. I finally soloed the Ascalon Fractal enough times to get the Pristine Fractal Relics needed to craft Mawdry and I only got around to finishing her maybe 2 weeks ago.

This means I have the Mysterious Vine back item/skin and the Mawdry back item/skin, but not the Cultivated Vine back item/skin.

I still have all of the unused account bound items in storage to craft it, but I haven’t brought myself to getting all of the other items to craft this intermediate stage as I like the Stage 1 and Stage 3 skins, but not so much this Stage 2 skin.

However, if support cannot help you and you are going to be going on a quest to make Stage 1 (Mysterious Vine) and Stage 2 (Cultivated Vine) to get the Pet Seed item again, I’d be happy to tag along with you to help you out. If you’d also be in need of some coin to purchase the food/light/foxfire/etc items versus crafting them all yourself, I’d be happy to pitch in and help you. We can craft Cultivated Vine together then. Aside from my liking your posts on these forums over the years and that I’d be more than happy to help you out, it’d also drag me away from the TP where I spend most of my in-game time.

Just let me know.

Drooburt's Ghost missing

Sometimes the Mad King takes him away. I saw him walking around Lion’s Arch at times and stopped to chat with Drooburt. Something about eating some people and then they both vanish for a time.

He’ll be back though asking for more Candy Corn.

Wow, that’s interesting. I did not know that was a thing that happened as he had always been there every time I’ve passed through or stood around throwing/mailing candy at people. Maybe I’m not in the area at the right time to see that. :\ I wonder if that’s on an hour timer or happens in relation to when Mad King Says happens.

Thanks for that info.

The repair cycle dipping into the ‘Not Responding’ state is perfectly normal. You just need to allow it to finish on its own. It shouldn’t take more than a couple minutes. There isn’t a guarantee that the repair will fix the connection problem for you, but it has for some others.

Action Camera - move crosshair up?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: StinVec.3621

StinVec.3621

The target point moves up as you zoom out.

That’s good to know.

For me, the only reason I do not like to use the action camera is because I play with my character offset horizontally to the right on my screen, but the ‘crosshair’ remains at the center of the screen, which is no longer straight ahead of my character due to the camera being offset. This is very awkward when targeting and/or placing AoE and I need to constantly swing my camera to the right to place it straight ahead of my character or to target what is in front of my character.

Could the crosshair be made to respect the horizontal camera position to correct this improper offset issue? So if I offset my character two notches to the right, the crosshair would also move the distance of two notches to the right to remain in a proper relationship to the character?

if nto ill try changing characters but sadly im in tangled depths and no alts are even close to there so hoping i dont have to map out to maps to get there on my revnenant

I’m not sure if mapping with a loggable character to the same map as a stuck character is a requirement for that trick to work. Perhaps the act of changing maps (to any map) in and of itself is enough. I hope it helps and you can load the character you want to play until they get around to working on this problem again today. :\
