“Gw2, It’s still on the Table!” – Anet
(edited by Swish.2463)
Personally I would have to say you need to drop pu from a team as a point decaper. Or even far assualt, sure it’s kinda tanky but it cannot hold a point thanks to its defence. It’s also lacking for peels for all other teammates.
Thou pu might make a better on point support for mantra heals and such
Condi shatters that run a more beefy chaos line build might also make better bunkers if used in a multiple of two, staff bolts bouncing and spreading high tick conditions over the other team that cannot clear them quickly enough
(edited by Swish.2463)
I wouldn’t think this would be against tos at all. Since you aren’t taking real money or other game currency.
As for legitimizing it, maybe contact blu and have him stream to roll or announce the winner after one of his streams.
What worked in Gw1 is in part thanks to the game having the “old trinity” set in place to force team comps and allow for disparities between builds. a group could succeed easily or fall apart completely just by keeping everyone alive in combat.
Gw1 was also very skill based, and had some complex math and less than straight forward fall out to contemplate to create fulling working buidls and teams.
The simple but robust Trait point system in Gw1 was the way to balance and confine the mass of Skills, which were the true stars of the combat and the core of the game play.
Gw2 has turned that on its face entirely which has showed the glaring issues with the old system it replaced trinity with. Lump Stat numbers.
The trait system for Gw2 was a good move, allowing it to also change how skills and game play was handled by the player. I love the CONCEPT of the Gw2 trait system.
I appreciate limiting skills to prevent impossible to balance and the steep learning curve of Gw1.
I less appriciate the removal of enchantmets and hexes and the reworking of conditions
but where all these systems fall apart ontop of one another and are either kitten or gutted is the replacement of player skill and thought of Skills ore builds by Stat points.
Stat points often do not leave room or atleast, much room, for creativity to flow or necessity to drive players to create with other tools. It leaves little room for an expansive base of options on skills and further options on those skills.
I would have hoped for the Gw1 skill/build system with the more expansive Gw2 trait system to come together but as is common with Anet, they’ve gone from one extreme to another and missed that golden middle ground..
if i remember correctly this is a very very old bug from beta days…
blink or any teleport skill when used while targeting a foe after a CC can sometimes end up pointing you in the wrong direction completely.
it happens to thieves and ele’s and necros too sometimes.

congrats to abjured for winning every week
Can someone move this to the lore forum where it belongs?
It seems a morbid question and as healthy as it may seem to be as of late, is sPvP actually beyond its point of no return?
This is more a question aimed at the ability to Expand on both the competitive scene and the Game type scene.
Is it possible for Anet to rebuild enough of a PvP following to increase the player base to allow for more game types without fracturing players into groups so small that it will end up driving them away?
Will we ever get to see more and more high level teams if we don’t have multiple game types for different players to excel in?
Has anets lack of concern and action on both balance and updates set a precedent of “inaction” that is holding players away from the game mode, and if so, is it possible for them to turn that around this late into the games life span?
If it is possible, how long could it take and what happens if they drop the ball completely once again?
original questions aside, not a bad beginning to what could become a decent podcast.
Unnecessary pessimism aside, I believe it’s supposed to be in November.
Though I haven’t heard of any buff besides Maim being 2x torment per shatter rather than one.
that was stated to be in the Halloween patch chaos…
Sounds vaguely interesting, but why start a Gw2 Podcast so late into the game and after so many others have come and gone before hand?
Do you have a better plan and direction than others previous or will you fall into the trap of “lack of new things” to rejoice about, complain about, or make suggestions on?
lol a patch with mesmer buffs…
Don’t hold your breath for anet to deliver on any buff or change they announce early, its a running trend that they alter it or drop it at the last minute when it comes to mesmers.
While this might be true, I don’t see the issue. Mesmers have pretty decent Elites as they are.
I could just as easily argue it’s pretty unfair that Mesmers have multiple CD reduction traits able effective the same weapon skill.
I could easily argue back that because Mesmer can have multiple CD reduction, our CD’s at base are stupidly long on all of those skills.
Specially when you compare them to classes that get no CD reductions or only 1.
Mesmers have 1 direct tie in through PU and MI.
we also have some pretty crappy elites in the grand scheme of things so it’s probably better that they aren’t tied into traits like other professions are.
If i had to classify them
Both MI and TW would fall under Glamor, which they could then easily become basic utility skills. Maybe not TW without some nerfs but its not really worthy of an Elite Slot when you add up the things it does.
MI – makes up to 6 people invisible for a few seconds, on the same CD timer as Veil which is a line on the ground that makes a LOT more people invisible for half the time.
Why this is an “Elite” skill is beyond me but if I really had to guess, it would be that Anet ran out of ideas and had to push out a 3rd elite for us before they started testing beta builds. they then never returned to replace it with something better.
TW applies Quickness to 5 people inside of it and acts as an ethereal field for a handful of seconds, it causes no harm or inverse effects on foes inside of the bubble (you’d think that it would at least cause chill to slow the bad guys down)
Moa is probably our best elite skill mostly because its the only elite that is capable of completely stripping its target of any passive defense or active defense as well as any passive offense. It’s the only real game changer Elite skill Mesmer gets (outside of TW letting you kill that Dungeon boss 3 seconds sooner).
If I had to classify it, i’d put moa under Manipulations but I think the entire non Mesmer 90% majority of Gw2 would flip their kitten if we could Moa from 1500 range and it was on a lower CD.
Place holder thread for tomorrows Patch.
Anyone with more spare time than I can pull Anets Mesmer Notes. In the mean time anyone else in game should probably join one another in Testing our old bugs and testing for new ones so we can Report stuff back yet again.
combat log issue is probably down to someone either forgetting to add in “takes X damage because of movement” ontop of the base damage tick.
far as i can tell Torment is calculated in two seperate instances that just happen to fall on the same output.
these are.
Torment Base damage – check stacks and source condi Damage – preform maths – Apply damage – wait 1s – step one again
Torment Extra – check stacks and source CD – preform maths – Check if Moving – IF moving apply damage – IF NOT moving apply no damage.
In theory, if your combat log was working correctly and showed your damage output to a T. it should look like:
Target took 500dmg from Torment.
Target took 500dmg while moving from Torment.
Short and long of it is that the Gw1 Mesmer and its many many roles and days of trolling are very much gone and unable to be really replicated in Gw2.
You can still take a more CC type of position up in a team fight with the lock down builds but it takes a lot of work to learn and get very good at.
Theres no returning to Panic or PowerBlock/blackout and Hexes out the kitten .
As Pyro stated, you can look at clones as the worst Pet summons in the game or you can look at them as a Hard to manage resource for your F1-F4 skills to be useable/useful.
Phantasms almost fill the Hex role, the two that fill this in the most accurately would be iWarlock on Staff and iDisenchanter from Utility. the other Phantasms are just DPS or Condition potentials that lack a scaling punishment effect.
If Lock Down ends up not being your thing, you can attempt a Typical IP/Shatter build. and just simply focus on Higher Pressure in rapid fire DPS. Watching the average player start to panic and flail on their keyboard helps me fill that void of playing Mesmer in Gw1 (from the times that the monk could only run in circles as every single one of its skills was on a Massive CD or it had 0 energy)
MtD Buff – Try Condition Shattering again – It’s got to work this time right?
I’ll just leave this here…
its not a bad idea for game modes like PvE where Confusion can actually deal a fair ammount of damage on AI
maybe even WvW where you could 1v1 a total idiot and have your food buffs and utility buffs and boosters and all that other cheap BS that allows builds to “function” in there.
In sPvP or tPvP all this would be is a buff to the thief tearing apart your face or the Warrior dealing out high damage cleaves to your team. Confusion is hard to stack and it doesn’t do a lot of damage without exceeding 15 or 20 stacks on your target. sure you could potentially get 2 maybe 4k per attack but on a 30k HP necro that can just use channeled or pulse AoE’s all you’ve done is give them haste to lay out EVERYTHING in no time flat while doing maybe 7k of damage if you’re super lucky and no one cleansed it.
Also dont forget that Haste, for some stuipd reason, also increases the Pulse rates of any AOE or channel skill used while under its effects.
Ele’s could cast Meteor Storm in about a second and a half, then the flaming stones would rain down for half the period of time at twice thier normal speeds over the same area.
Necro Wells would pulse their 5 over a period of 2.5s thats one pulse per .5s.
This isn’t a Bad idea per say, but it needs a lot of something extra thrown into it thanks to the way Gw2 works vs how Gw1 worked. Gw1 auto attacking meant dealing maybe 20-40 dmg and it was often the only thing you could do while you waited for your skills to be needed. Hexes and Conditions were a lot more deadly and debilitating.
Gw2 you can abuse any and all skill with almost 0 resource management and all over your skills are more than capable of dealing 1-7k damage. Conditions are just annoying short duration issues that mostly don’t change how you approach or continue your attack, Gw2 has no hexes capable of complex punishment/reward mechanics.
So to expand on your idea
Grants your target Haste for Xs , Inflicts your target with Confusion for Xs, Confusion Damage increased by 2X maybe 3X, Target is Easily Interrupted for Xs (some new condition or an add on to weakness incoming attacks have a XX% chance of interrupting an action)
This means the target is basically forced to use quick attacks but now must consider cleansing confusion seriously as its suddenly become very dangerous to them to just spam away. Becoming vulnerable to interrupts from anyone in the area also prevents long channeled skills from being abused to avoid the confusion all together and just reap benefits from the haste.
-sigh-.. fine. i was avoiding commenting on here but i’ll weigh in anyway. too many people thinking inside of a box for my tastes..
Is staff a crutch?
Yes, so much in the matter that one of your Legs could be considered a crutch. or One of your arms.
Staff is not so much an individual item that should be broken down and viewed as weak or pathetic to use anymore than being left or right handed should fall under intense dislike or scrutiny.
What the Staff is, is a full working part of the Mesmer class as a whole, and all be it a wobbly, bugged and over nerfed Appendage, its still the best working one Mesmer has.
Much in the same way that IP and DE can be considered wobbly and crutch like, they’re just the only legs our class really has to stand on when things come down to a fine point and the Min/Max/Win/Lose line.
Mesmer is be no means a well fleshed out class and our options for balanced and fully functional things are slim pickings. If staff happens to offer Strong Defense and Strong Offense and it WORKS CORRECTLY over 70% of the time then I’d say it’s pretty kitten solid. Refusing to open up and use or even try a staff for a build is in a sense hobbling yourself, like a Gladiator who finds a greater victory by cutting off one of his arms or legs before a battle. Fighting opponents that are twice his size that have twice the kitten nal of weapons to choose from and now, twice the arms to use them.
Refusing to stand on a solid leg usually means that you will need an Actual Crutch to lean upon. Be it Abusing Stealth, Terrain Glitches, LoS errors, other class Bugs or even your team mates. By refusing to play to ones fullest or even attempt to try alternate options means that you can actually turn your fellow players into your crutch, and That is a worse offense that just using what someone else might call….
“Purple Cheese”.
TL;DR
kitten you, try again from the top.
Cheers.
Hello all, I am Necromancer that decided to give the mesmer a try and I am feeling very squish at the moment.
That’ll happen when you swap from one of the highest HP Pools in the game to a class with an HP Pool on the lower end.
Here is the Mantra build I am using: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fhMQRAsc8al0n7zqR3oXkOSzKdlG16a9IlGCqOT6FB2U6XpaA-TBCBABQt/QN6PmS5HsKBB4kBQk6PPY+LgnIAA-e
Looks like a pretty basic PvE Build so i’ll assume you’re only doing PvE and Dungeons.
My question is: Should I change my gear to something that improves my survival? Or is it possible to run lvl 80 content focusing only on damage gear (Assassin, Berseker, etc)?
Thank you!
If survival is hard for you then yeah change your gear to compensate. Get used to having More dodges and active defenses vs the Necros “stand still and eat damage” play style. Be prepared to buy a second set or two maybe three or armor for later tho just in case you want to go into WvW or Dungeon speed runs or Fractals.
Most of the users that post on these forums are always focused on running gear that is all about damage (condition or Power) since mesmer lacks a lot vs the other classes without Min/Maxing it.
It needs to have a target because of the shatter skills…
unless it auto targets the nearest foe
just like de clones
You may want to link in builds and trinkets and runes and sigils. It looks like you guys had a decent comp but it had some holes the community might be suited to theory craft on.
track records seem to show that anet works on things “at the last possible second”.
the April and September Feature patches both required long breaks from LS development for the teams to poop out little bits of stuff for us (mind you Septembers patch was finished before April for China.) to eat.
LS seems to have consumed Anet and its teams to a point that it literally hurts all other aspects of the game.
It has done this since season 1 and the 2 week plague began
Scarlet Briars true legacy is the slow necrotic creep of death to untouched PvE/sPvP/WvW and all the bugs and half finished systems/mechanics.
i would prefer that winters day not change, its the strongest in game event we currently have.
Halloween would have also been fine going unchanged but setting up for a “story” about the Thorn blood line and history and discovering more of it each year is now an expected precedent.
You’d be better off asking anet to not start what they don’t intend to finish, but that request has been ignored since the days of Beta..
Just add from the previous thread on this,
Mantra charges will be dropped when you:
Upscale your level
Downscale your level
as stated above
and
when using a Way point (even a way point only several feet away)
When Downed
When transformed
When picking up a Kit/Bundle Item
Literally only able to play after 12:30ish AM (eastern) on week days due to my current job but I’d still like to find a small team to practice with or maybe join.
- Can get Mumble/TS3
- Own headphones
- Doesn’t main any other classes but can do Guardian fairly well too.
Currently Playing Shatter, Never liked PU..
Message me in game or on here if interested.
I generally have weekends free.
(edited by Swish.2463)
Well i’ve broken down completely this past weekend and i’m just back to running the 4/4/0/0/6 shatter build, zerker amulet and various runes but travelers keeps me from needing a focus or teammates to get around more quickly.
Its really the only spec that can really destroy stuff in sPvP that I can abuse fluidly that doesn’t come up short in short fights or longer sustained fights against multiple rotating foes.
But here’s the thing. I’ve got GS nailed down but i’m still up in the air over Staff or Sword Sword. Pistol is off the table, its stun is lovely but the phantasm dies too often and it lacks a big bust skill and a block.
So here’s what i’m trying to weigh for weapons.
Is it better to take Sword/Sword or Staff?
Swords Offers Boon removing Clones (when they can hit enough times) and Immobilize along with a Hard hitting Phant that is survivable. it also offers me a guaranteed block and a questionably reliable evade.
Staff offers a Slow truck Phant that easily misses, a half stun breaker, and RNG boons.
So why take staff? is what i ask myself these days.
The other part i struggle with is Portal. Portal is lovely if you have a reliable team thats smart enough to use it effectively, but often that’s not the case for me. So i’ve lately been taking Feedback instead. I’ve accepted that i’ll end up lacking Condition Removals but ultimately that hasn’t been that much of a problem for me aside from the odd condition bombing necro that shows up from time to time.
Is there a reason to really ever bring portal to a fight without having a stable team to play with every time every day?
I almost want to bring Illusion of Life at times but it really pales in comparison to all other class revival skills and in rough match ups 15s is usually not enough to down and kill someone from the other team..
Any recommendations from you all that aren’t Null-field or a mantra?
It’s called PU.
more specifically, Condition PU.
Mesmer’s have extremely poor passive defense and have to rely on Dodges, Stealth or Clones ( aka noobs / people who aren’t paying attention / stupid players) for our defense.
With low access to aegis and prot and regen outside of PU or Chaos armor/ chaos storm, PU and stealth abuse to gain those boons is as of current, our only option to be “tanky”.
You can also opt for a condition shatter build but those don’t hold up well under pressure but they last longer than full zerker shatter builds do.
It’s all in the matter of the order of the if than statements in the programming and their order.
Does wastrels check in after or before the stun. When does the sigil proc. And when does halting check in
it most likely hasn’t changed from the last post about it, Mesmers might seem very popular but that goes away and people move in Waves from class to class.
it’s probably a close tie between Engineers and Mesmer still.
these are the two classes who do the most work for a lesser or equal reward / result as the other classes.
Personal Favorite whispers from angry players
MM Necro who calls you bad for using Moa on him/her to remove minions.
Invis Spamming thief that claims PU invis spamming is OP and you are bad.
Invulnerable Beast master/spirit abuse ranger who gets mad when you use Moa to remove all his passives.
Warrior who gets mad at Moa when it removes all their passives.
PU Mesmer mad at Moa and claims its just a crutch (my personal favorite)
The Ele mad that you stacked confusion and they destroyed themselves.
The engineer decap troll who gets upset when you kill them before they decap and cant abuse your lack of stability.
Newest are the Glass LB rangers standing 1800 range off point feeling like a bad kitten as they spam 1, a quick and hard spike and they go down… most of these players seem to be immigrant EZMode Warriors from pre patch.. they get mad a lot.
I’m really only asking because sometimes i just don’t feel like i have the right answers myself.
I wonder if it was the bugs that pushed us to fill out the “Base build” quota more quickly than the other classes seemed to have done. Or if it was something else.
So if it was not the Bugs then what was it really?
Class Mechanic or lack of .. well there’s no really kind way to put it.. terrible traits?
I’m trying hard not to pin it down onto our classes mechanic but it’s hard not to.. it may be a combination of traits utilities weapons and mechanics yet one of them has to be the bigger “offender” than the others.
That also being said…I don’t think this is necessarily an objectively bad thing. It’s more of just…a thing. It’s not really caused by bugs or poor design decisions (rip immortal build) or anything like that. There’s simply a finite number of combinations of the factors in the game that can create both functionally unique and effective builds.
I wonder if it was the bugs that pushed us to fill out the “Base build” quota more quickly than the other classes seemed to have done. Or if it was something else.
Without putting in a ton of thought into attempting to make Points in WvW make sense and prevent run away matches in the least balanced and least updated aspect of the game..
hmm..
well i can at least throw this out there for someone else to maybe run with.
Server gains no points on a tick for any camp/tower/keep/etc in which the Lord value NPC has the Invulnerability Buff
I would also throw in some division of points gained on capture of an item based on the number of players in the “area” (taking part in the event, not just standing in the capture circle.) maybe something along the lines of ..
Base Score for Cap / Players participated | Result x Current Server Standing (1 for first, two for second, 3 for third) equates Points gained for server.
in action a 3rd place server that caps a supply camp with 5 players would look like this.
50 / 5 is 10. 10 × 3 is 30 – the server gains 30 points.
if the first place server caps with 10 players afterwards they only gain 5 points.
This can change the Lower end into a Cap to Catch up whilst High end (first place) is a battle of attrition on holding for PPT.
Flipping camps and such becomes massively less profitable the further in the lead you get with some maths and adjustments to the formula. Plus not having PPT on things recently capped aids to put a shorter leash on Potential run away match ups.
at least in theory..
I’m really only asking because sometimes i just don’t feel like i have the right answers myself.

after readomg the above post more carefully and considering the staleness of the current WvW map selection, I had an epiphany to prelude what I posted previously that follows.
WvW maps, new ones, could have drop in geodomes. Portions of the map could have geodomes that can be replaced by others, repositioned to other locations of the map, and/or rotated with different facing. This can occur at the start of each new week and the geodomes be placed randomly. New geodomes can be designed in the future and just dropped into a table of possible geodomes for a given week’s play.
Currently the reward rate in EotM is quite high. Granted most of it quickly becomes nearly useless or just trash, but it is far more rewarding item wise than WvW.
Sadly the items are underwhelming.
Now, that said, WvW needs a lot of work. Rewards being one of them. Something that alters game play often enough it doesn’t become so stale. I honestly don’t know what can be done, I can say this, until this Tournament I hadn’t played WvW for more than a few days of game time in the 2+ years since launch. At least the weapon skins were enticing.
Now that the tournament is ending I will likely not be doing much WvW, if I even continue to play the game much. I will return once something interesting happens, like Raids, but I expect that to be years into the future.
Hooray for inspiration for ideas. It can come from strange discussions and places. Love the general idea personally to help change up the maps. Sounds difficult to implement tho.
Some of you seem confused..
I’ll rephrase the question.
What if you played with All like color allied Servers in all the BL and EB maps just like you do in EoTM?
I expect nothing
yet i know i’ll still be disappointed.
You can beat a dead horse and make it look alive.
but once rigor mortis sets in eventually even that stops working and even the slowest on looker can figure it out.
Gw2 sPvP arrived Still born, got some attempted Jump starts about 4 to 6 months way too late (as per typical Anet style when it comes to Gw2).
We’re now in the Rigor Mortis Stage, even tournaments aren’t going to mask it very well anymore :\
Different match types that play better off of the combat and speed/spam of the game would be more fun to play and maybe even watch…
“less confusing for new players”.
That joke is getting really old.
Anet has shown they understand they may have went a bit crazy with the September Feature Pack and has since gone back and fixed or undone some of the changes.
Smiter’s Boon says Hi…
As old as something might get players that are seriously wronged by ill attempts to balance/fix an aspect of the game rarely forget the failure and often won’t let the Devs forget it either. It helps keep everyone Humble and mindful even if its not the most kind way to do it..
On topic..
I’m not excited for Halloween after Last years shake down. Year 1 Was more brooding and well put together with Lore and Events and the scavenger hunt, plus more to do in the mad kings realm including the PvP match type.
Wintersday after year 2 is the most well put together festival Gw2 has and its what gave me So much hope for the future of the game. Now its the only update i look forward to with any certainty that I’ll have fun playing it, even if its just a rehash of the last years games and loot. If only anet could learn what they did right with it and reproduce it with some consistency across the rest of the game.
So it would be worse than getting obsidian armor if that is something that is even comparable?
personally i enjoyed getting obby armor.. even if i had to Grind FoW and UW for a month or two to do it.
the content around it was challenging and rewarding at the same time.. and I felt pretty bad kitten every time we actually made it to the end. (before hero’s were a thing)
I’m hard pressed to find that in Gw2 anymore.
Gw2 probably has a future.
at its current speed that future is something a bit like this tho..
That future requires Mega Servers to make the maps and game feel more populated than it is and make playing with other players possible in PvE.
That Future requires you to wait 2 weeks to 2 months for new bit size pieces of content, content that when missed requires that you go spend money or grind for gold to buy gems to go play.
That future might contain a New dungeon, it might not, it may only contain a new path for a dungeon or a 1/4th of a new path.
That future Might contain a New map every now and then that is roughly 1/4th the size of the other maps you received at launch.
That future may have 1 new trait per trait line added in every year and a half.
You may get one new utility skill every year and a half.
That future will most certainly contain a lot more “bait and switch” tactics of Temporary “Permanent” content such as Super Adventure Box, Queens pavilion, etc..
I can only base these assumptions on the Current track record Anet has with Gw2 and how they appear to be running things behind the curtains.
Their level of clarity and glass wall/door communications has become one way mirrors and Mud so we have no clue what they’re planning or doing anymore..
to get back on topic a bit..
I’m in a similar boat to the OP.
I have a crap account when it comes to RNG on Gw2.
The first and only ascended box drop i’ve gotten was from a veteran Risen brute.. and it was for Condition damage (dont remember the name, but its not the rampager’s version)
I picked sword and then tried to build a condition build to use it with
I now only keep the sword because i’m too lazy and cheap to buy an exotic with Zerker or Assassins Stats off the TP to replace it with..
Fellow Mesmers I have a question.
Have we hit our maximum potential as a class?
and by that I mean..
Are there no new builds anymore and just rehashes of previous ones?
I don’t see a lot of creative tooling anymore when it comes to the Mesmer Profession, so much time spent working around bugs and worthless traits and weapons.. has it forced our hands early to figure out the best/weirdest ways to make the class playable?
If we’ve really hit the end of the road then what would open things back up the most for us?
Buffs to make us less reliant on traits?
Traits changed around / replaced / redone / etc..?
Bug fixes?
New utilities and elites?
Legendary weapons were really only accessible to the average player during the launch window when precursors were affordable off the tp. Materials were all dirt cheap because of bot farms and the tp itself constantly being broken as kitten.
After the initial hype of legendary requiring skill and mastery of all parts of the game boiled away as players figured out the recipes… We found out that legendaires were about ninety percent gold based with a little karma and badge grinding on the side.
Once the precursors reached about the 100 gold Mark the legendary weapon slowly crawled away from being obtainable to anyone who did not grind their face off or get kittenedly lucky with rng and that crawl has turned into a Sprint over the following months.
A new player on average will end up with about 30 / 50 gold if they do map competition and finish their ps at level 80. Seeing the price of a precursor and finding out that that is the only end game offered has got to kill off any drive to continue playing the game seriously. I wouldn’t dare attempt to craft a legendary these days, I’ve already got 1 and it put me off the game for a fe w months in that process… Making another I’d probably just uninstall and never come back
I usually dont bother to share but i’ll go ahead with it.
I kept WASD but i altered it slightly.
W- Move forward
A- Strafe Left
S- backwards
D- Strafe Right
Q- Turn Left
E- Turn Right
I keep turn and strafe nearby so i can continue to run in circles while i aim ground targeted skills or use my attack skills which have all be redone to the following
F- 1
R- 2
C- 3
Shift + F – 4
Shift + E – 5
1 – F1
2- F2
3 – F3
4— F4
Heal – Mouse 3
X – 7
Shift + C – 8
V – 9
Mouse 4 – 0
Dodge – Mouse 2 (side bar)
I moved display Enemy tags to Left Shift
I also moved Interact to Left Alt
Took some getting used to but it was better than trying to hunt and click or move my hand all over the place.
Can we remove the mesmer elite skill which turns you into a moa for 10 seconds? It feels redicilous to not be allowed to use your skills for such a long time.
Yes
but only if we can remove the Engineer skill that transforms them into tornadoes or beserkers
and the Ele skill that turns them into a Tornado
And the Warrior skill that transforms them into a Zerker
and The Necro skill that transforms them into a Lick
and the Necro Skill that transforms them into a stinky cloud
And the two Human Elites that cause Trasforms
And the asura Power suit
And the two Guardian Tomes that can also be considered transformations
Or
Or
you could go Look at Polymorph Moa and notice it has a Looong cast time with a fairly obvious tell and then notice it has one of the LONGEST CD’s in the game on an elite skill.
In a competitive scene the Most a Mesmer can use this skill is 1 maybe 2 times in a match.
In hotjoin garbage matches that take forever, maybe 3. 4 if it’s a very very long match..
In the mean time the longest you’ll spend re spawning in probably 25 seconds, afterwards you can go find the mesmer and it wont be able to moa you for the next several encounters you go through against it.
Is Moa a Ridiculous Elite skill? yes in the negative and Yes in the positive because it can also completely wreck the tanky passive bunker and sustain builds which are pretty full of kitten in their own regard..
I preface this by stating that I am not a hardcore WvW player anymore, my commander tag gathers dust and WvW days are long over from launch and time spent on NS, FA, EB, etc..
But why did I quit commanding and being so active in WvW?
Because for me its incredibly stale, it lacked any serious impact and persistence and I lost my drive to attempt Tactical movement beyond Lead Blob to door/wall…
But later anet added in WxP and such and EoTM but yet it never drew me back in.
I tried EoTM and I had fun with it for a time but it doesn’t impact my servers standing nor does it really matter for the actual WvW maps, yet it was still more fun than what “Core” wvw was…
So my question to you all is, How would you feel if EoTM transferred its system into the core of WvW?
More specifically, What if WvW became a Like colored team match with multiple Overflows that encompassed all servers? Would it effect your server loyalty or pride levels?
If this were the case How would servers be ranked and gain individual points inside of each match up? Would this cause a Toxic environment or a healthy / friendly competitive spirit between allied servers?
Here’s the thinking that lead me to these questions.
I have fun in EoTM, why?
Because It’s always populated and I can ALWAYS find a group to do things with no matter my server.
Because there’s no Que Time and I can join my guild-mates or party in their “overflow” version of it rather easily.
I’m not fighting the Same 3 to 5 servers every 2 or 3 weeks while making 0 headway in the overall ranking board.
I don’t have to worry if guild are migrating to or from my server.
What if WvW core did this as well? What if players could earn base points from captures/holds depending on a set back end measurement like, let’s say, Server members present at capture or present in map while item is held (per tick).
But I’m more curious to the hardcore WvW players thoughts on this matter. Could EoTM actually revitalize your WvW experience or would it remove and destroy all fun for you?
hate to tell you but staff scepter/torch is extremely common… specially in condition builds…
as for Healing Power i’ll echo what was already said, its garbage. It scales terribly on every single class and if i recall some math regarding the newer +1k Healing Power on interrupt Trait Mesmer got, it equated to about a 200 difference in healing amount..
If you want you can run a 6/4/0/4/0 Mantra build for PvE
it supplies Healing every time you charge a mantra to you and nearby allies, its not awesome but it can help when you’re pugging with slow reflex players.

swapped some of your traits to make condition removal possible and more reliable
you’ll have to give up some stuff
I dropped DE since this is a Phantasm build. and its either BI or CI if you want condition removal, i dropped BI because might on you doesn’t effect phantasm DPS.
Not a build i would run, signets are so useless to my playstyle but maybe it’ll work for you.
I want to say wasters procs in between the interrupt and stun but Idk..
And no daze doesn’t count
