I would love to see a video of a guild sieging a tower or keep and holding it against the zergs. The commanders would probably go “WHAT? You’re not supposed to DEFEND YOUR KEEP kitten it! Give me my Champ Bags and Dragonite!!”
If we’re talking about open field in EB or BLs, there are no rules. You can reset the fight a hundred times if you have the mobility. Bring mobility yourself if you want to finish duels.
In OS arena, ppl come purposefully to duel, so it’s much more likely they’ll stay and fight to the end, even if they’re losing.
So to recap, expecting a “honorable” fight to the end in open field is silly. Bring a build you can catch them with, or accept the fact ppl will run from you.
I’ve seen people jump out into spectator mode waiting for the auto balance so they could join the winning team…
Well it’s hotjoin. Ppl will do a lot of “weird” stuff to get the win bonus there. One popular method is to spectacte at the beginning to determine ranks of ppl playing and join the high rank team. The high rankers regularly stack on one side, too.
Hotjoin is a complete mess with “honor” being rare. Accept that and you’ll get a lot less frustrated. Play it for what it is, win or lose. No one’s going to track your losses in hotjoin so why stress over it?
Guys nice attempts, but just drop this trait and take Inetl sig:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJAQNAneSjMdU2ZZIWhwJagqgCdBEAPg6eoxzhUbAA-TpBFwAOOEAIOBAl2fYxRAoaZAAPAAA1. taking hammer w/o ‘merciless hammer’ is gimpin yourself
2. wanting to eviscerate + another burst w/o ‘burst mastery’ means you won’t use it on full bar or you will wait like 10sec between bursts. again gimpin yourself
3.you welcome
Nice build with no crits with the hammer. You sure you got your sigils right?
I heard one day PvP happened in EotM. True story.
^^^
use Cleansing ire, your burst spamming is the best thing against them.
I tried that too, but then I seemed to run into problems upkeeping enough Adrenaline to do bursts back to back, plus losing quite a bit of “oomph” from the bursts themselves.
It’s a tradeoff really. Sacrificing hitting power for survivability. But yeah that’s what balance means. Can’t have it all in the same build
I would NEVER go into wvw without my trusty GS, or at least a 1h sword.
That would be indeed suicide. Without GS mobility you’re as good as dead.
Piken will have tough time getting even 3rd place in this tournament. We’ve been getting weaker and weaker. Lost to FSP twice now, so 2nd place goes to FSP no question. 3rd place might just happen for us, but not living up my hopes that much.
Wow. I stand corrected. Makes sense, of course. Probably why I didn’t expect it to work that way
I’ve found the best way to be “tanky” in a zerg is not to be in the zerg. I run LB/GS with Knight’s Armor and Zerker trinkets. LB does massive AoE damage and GS lets you escape any moves their zerg makes in your way.
Not the most “balls of steel” setup, but it works. I rarely get downed in a zerg fight and am tripping over the loot bags all the time.
I’ve been playing with a Burst Precision build myself, although my build takes Burst Mastery too. It’s slightly weak against conditanks, but solid against anything else, really. Too bad there are so many conditanks in the game now and it’s often impossible to burst them down within your Berserker stance.
Fun, but as said, doesn’t work that well against the prevalent conditanks.
its called eotm
This. It’s as close to carebear as PvP can ever get.
No.
Luck does not affect any chests whatsoever. Not in PvE, not in WvW, not in sPvP.
It has been confirmed by devs several times.
With BLSK you can “profit” from making the Dark Matter (if you don’t count in the BLSK price, and break even or small profit even if you do). Place buy offers for armor/weapons that drop either insignias/dowels or valuable runes/sigils, or both. Salvage and resell all but the Dark Matter and you should be well on the black.
Ehm- could all of us get those please? or even better just remove the stealth part from wvw/pvp? would be nice.
Stealth is not an issue in sPvP. A stealthed thief/engi is not contesting/capping a point. I have had good laughs when a thief has been “defending” a point and then shadow refuges and stealths for 12 seconds in the middle of the fight.
Thanks for the points
I’m so sorry for you. Weird thing actually. I’ve been having some problems with my girlfriend because she thinks I’m emotionally distant to her when I play gw2 especially world bosses where I need to focus because lag and freeze are really hurting my gameplay. She suggested 2 things. First that I should play less and spend more time together. Lol. She silly. Second I buy better internet. I am student. I cannot pay better connection. Worst was she laughed when I wiped at behemoth.
So yes. I feel your pain.
Laugh of the day, thanks
My wife keeps telling me the same. She silly.
and a celestial amulet
This is your problem. Phantasms are scaling from your stats, so you have to use Berserker or at least Valkyrie Amulet. We are not like MM Necros or Rangers who can go as tanky or condi heave as they want, and still have our AI deal direct damage, we have to go as offensive as possible.
Yeah going full glass cannon as mesmer is so risky because of no escape buttons.
Hmm… what would be after Dragon rank?
Oh I know! Zerg rank!
Or perhaps Trehearne / Scarlet rank!
The hints are a bit sporadic. Just keep trying. Took me 2 weeks with a full mailbox to get the full mailbox hint
Have I missed something? Wasn’t Sparkfly exempt from the megaserver list for now?
Oh yeah. The Naga is quite small, so if you have a big hand, it’s going to be tough to use ergonomically. My hand is quite small (for a man, anyway) so it was a good match.
TBH swimsuit would be best implemented as a tonic. I don’t want people running in PvP wearing speedos and wielding greatswords.
As said, we don’t know, so no point in asking.
However, if they follow their usual pattern it’s somewhere between 8 to 14 hours before the patch from this moment.
Well since you already bought it, you should try and see for yourself. For me, GW2 is the best MMO on the market right now, and looks like there are no serious contenders coming in the near future.
Ah ok I’m looking forward to trying it out then! I see how it would be useful for Eles. I have one myself but my main is my warrior and while yes Warrior is an easy class I like to get in whatever champions face and keep constantly moving, swapping, dodging, etc. and yes I ordered the 2014 one
$70 better be worth it. That could’ve been 350g on gems lol
Or you could have spend 1hour to figure out sensible keybinds for you keyboard and save yourself those 70$.
Every moment you have to move your fingers off the WASD keys to activate abilities is a moment you’re not moving effectively. Especially in PvP movement is half the battle.
No idea. ANet does not have a set time for their updates. They happen when they happen.
I used to have the original Naga, but I accidentally electrocuted it a while ago. To my great disappointment they changed the feeling of the 12 thumb buttons and moved the two buttons from next to the left mouse button to behind the wheel (seriously, who can use those without killing their hand?).
I ended up getting the Razer Naga Hex, which has better feeling on the thumb buttons. I still miss the two buttons next to the left mouse button though… sigh
You maybe have a class who’s not actually good at tagging mob instead of doing big damage.
Magic Find sound good only for farming mat tbh, don’t even try to think that you will have more exotics, it’s pure luck.
I hope they weren’t stupid enough to be unpartied. In a party you get credit for kills even if you don’t tag them.
Lol. If that would be what’s costing in ascended crafting I’d be really happy… You haven’t checked the price of T2-T5 cloth, have you?
Good luck! EB will be mighty crowded now that the WvW tournament is running.
You need 100 bolts of silk (i.e. 300 silk overall) per Spool of Weaving Thread for a Bolt of Damask. On the other hand, Armorsmithing’s Lump of Mithrillium only requires 50 mithril ingots. In other words, Tailors need twice as much of their main ascended component’s material than other crafts, and silk is harder to farm than ore or leather.
Three times. Mithril Ingot requires only 2 ore.
I was wondering if GW2 will have Nvidia’s PhysX technology for more realistic cloth simulation, particle movements and object breakdown…
So no, not very likely to happen. At least not in the very near future.
Inspired by your look, I’ve mashed something together. Still playing with shades of the colours, but I’m approx. where I want to be with it
Now this is much better.
Best keep in mind though that if you want to play WvW at some point the highest ranking servers all have a pretty hefty queue most of the prime time.
The best return on karma is probably crafting a legendary and selling it.
Probably not. Actually, definitely not.
kitten and I just converted a lot of gems to gold before the spike. Ahwell. It’s just money
Not a bad idea at all.
How about no?

Yeah removing transfer costs was a really good idea. Ask any Gandaran who’s sitting in 2 hour queue every night.
Can only apologise guys, it was out of our hands, and much to the Gandaran WvW community’s dismay, we’re swimming in new transfers now. It feels like I’ve transferred rather than the other way around. Once again the rankings are predictable, just like everyone called Viz winning the moment Season 1 was announced, and Deso as soon as they mysteriously dropped just into Silver in the following weeks from Season 1 being announced. Such a fun tournament we shall have.
@whoeveritwassayingwehaveloadsof20-25manguildsandnotblobs, this may be true in many circumstances, but we do have blobs a fair amount too, and I saw Piken and FSP with just as many guilds, the former possibly with more, I saw handholding from both servers there, but not a huge amount and I’m sure as hell our guilds are guilty of it too. In the end it doesn’t come down to skill, only coverage, and that’s something we’re drowning in atm.
Again deepest condolences folks, we’re hoping to get our Gandara back as soon as possible, but all we can do is weather it out. Seems like an awfully bad joke on ANet’s part, espec. giving AG Vizu the second week of free transfers and us FR and DL to PvD and blob into the ground. I’d like to see though a bit more empathy from FSP, or the guy constantly posting Gandwagon; Gandara AG and FSP are supposed to be a trio and friendly at that, at least you two are my favourite servers from past experiences – that shouldn’t go out the window as soon as we get swamped with immigrants, nor if AG becomes deserted, nor if FSP gains some particularly disagreeable individuals who enjoy playing the game unfairly. I don’t think less of you because of their actions, you guys are still AG and FSP to me, and that means something deeper than random people being scrubs can take away.
Phew such many words, I should probably stick to those with fewer syllables.
Don’t worry about it. Piken is now dominating our current matchup and it’s boring as hell. We’ll meet again later in the season.
If you want to make us feel better, just post a screenie of your EU prime time queues
Eveeryone just open disputs and chargebacks with arena net for your gem purchases, and they’ll learn from their mistakes.
Nice advice, if you want your account permabanned, that is.
You don’t do chargebacks for MMO payments unless you never want to play on your account again.
Period.
Your systems have nothing to do with skill lag and server optimizations, so no point in posting them into this thread.
1. People waiting for the feature pack next week.
2. ESO is out.
I’d assume both problems being fixed within 30 days or so.
That looks horrible. Sorry but it does
My main reasons to love GW2:
The world is absolutely beautiful. Also my biggest gripe, because after leveling there is little reason to revisit the areas.
Visual character customization. Not just when creating the character, but also after it via dyes and armor choices. Rarely will I meet an exact copy of myself out there, which cannot be said for many other MMOs.
No sub. This is actually a funny point, since by my calculations I’ve paid more to play GW2 via gem purchases than I would have for a sub game in the same time of gameplay. Even then, it just feels so liberating that I can spend as much as I want on one month and then nothing on the next, should I choose so. I also choose what I spend my money on, instead of just handing it over and hoping the devs would give me the content I want. And the best part is, I can take a break and come back without spending a dime or waiting for “come back for free” promotions.
I know one of these days I’ll be getting fed up with GW2 again, but after a few months break I’ll probably be back again. I don’t see any games in the horizon that could challenge that, except maybe EQN but that one is years away I think.
Doesn’t look like ruined to me:
Don’t forget the bloodstone dust you only get at level 80 that is needed for ascended crafting.
At very high levels, it becomes the new limiting factor as to how fast you can make ascended equipment for your characters.
But it sure as hell won’t be limited by bloodstone…
Is that the pirate one in la? if you do die just wait and after about 30 secs he takes pity on you and teleports you back to the top to try again.
Really? Even if you die on the first slide and never actually make it down there?
Tom Gore.4035 @ I agree, without player interferance and in normal circumstances it is pretty doable. I’ve done Not So Secret one and my portal ended up being quite useful during the run to other 4 guys, so i know what you mean.
The difference is that with the Not So Secret you can blunder and fall down to your death when you’re 90% done, resetting you back to the beginning (and I mean really beginning, as in the nearest waypoint outside the whole puzzle).
With OS you have regular “checkpoints” and you have to do some weird jumping to actually die from falls there.
