I’m no fan of Powerpoint at all..

The problem mainly is that the same currency is used in two entirely different game modes, with one game mode having an abundant access to it (PvE), while the other game mode (WvW) has not..

And as long as WvW players have to use PvE gold for their WvW stuff, they’ll feel very poor..

(as already suggested) Just use Badges of Honour for every single thing that you can buy/upgrade/whatever in WvW?

Silverwastes has its bandit crests as currency, how hard can it be to just remove gold from WvW and replace by Badges?

The profession that he has the most fun with.. If you like a profession a lot, you’ll get better at it, and find it’s use in any of those game modes..

But bear in mind: A build that works like a charm in a dungeon, might not work at all for WvW..

All in all: This is a game, having fun should be priority #1!

The same reason why you saw sooooo many thieves before the stealth nerf (revealed)..

Well, you did blatantly ignore the “Are you sure you want to Account-bind Dawn” and pressed Yes.. So I wouldn’t get my hopes up too much.. Try reading stuff on your screen before blindly clicking stuff..

But, why not just reskin the weapon?
(will take way less time than having ANet implement normal arrows for the dreamer in some specific game modes)

Maybe a silly question, but there is no chance that the mesmer had tagged an NPC that died, which resulted in him levelling up and insta healing?

This class is about mobility and skirmish as you pointed before and any skill that limit that behavior is just BROKEN.

The ranger has many of his mechanics broken: Sword#3 doesn’t hit most of the time, Sword#1 root in place even delaying new commands, you can’t evade when needed.

L2P.. No profession is better than the other one, it’s the player behind the keyboard that controls the character..

If i use LB#3 is because i have to hide. Period. If i use Sword#2 is because i need to evade. When this things don’t work reliably we can say the skill is BROKEN. And we have many of this already.

That is the correct behaviour.. LB#5 is an AoE that takes some time, so you stealth, the next arrow from your barrage hits, and you’re revealed..
Again: stealth is removed when you do damage. That’s the principle, always has been, and always will be (at least in this game)..
Would you expect a thief to be able to stealth after he started his daggerstorm?

But since you are the self-proclaimed uber-ranger, you just ditch every opinion that differs from you? People these days..

Also i don’t know were you get the idea of “do damage” when the skill states “when attack”.

Roll a thief, go stealth, try backstab a guardian that blocks —> still in stealth!
(so yeah, you attacked, but did no damage – there comes that idea from)

Other people in this thread is confirming you that.

So trust me, there have been already quite some LB#3 that I fired in groups.. And yet I have never noticed it before.. So maybe those “confirming” it are throwing traps in the meantime or crap like that?

The correct way for this skill to work is: if you attack AFTER the LB#3 is being used you loose your stealth. Not because a trap is triggered or you piercing arrow hit twice.

The principle of stealth clearly mentions that it’s removed the moment you do dmg..
And I’m still not convinced that LB#3 with Piercing Arrows will reveal you if it hits more than one person.. Can someone really confirm this please?

Maybe something to keep in mind: All our opponents deduce that we are right next to our pet (when we are stealthed). So LB#3 and direct your pet to aggro something else (in range).. You’ll be amazed how silly your opponent is rushing to your pet, assuming you are right there. In the meantime you can channel your barrage or whatever..

On a sidenote: What role do you take on in PvP with your mesmer?

The main problem with your story is that the PuG’s had no idea about the PvP and what to do, so that has nothing do with your build, afaik..
I practice player killing in PvP on my mesmer, so I’m most of the time roaming from point to point..

I imagine if you would do a ranked match, that you’ll feel more appreciated on your mesmer? Since I don’t think that a decent PvP player will ignore your portal or just roam around doing whatever kitten he/she wants.. ;-)

Certain about that? I run PA, and have never been revealed after shooting #3 in an enemy group..

That’s a visual bug, the 0%.. Log the char in, log her out, restart client, check the percentage.. (I had that with my first map completed toon as well)

EDIT In your case: restart client, log in, log out..
If logging in keeps failing, create a support ticket (after you have rebooted/…)

Before even checking the build links: What do you plan to do in WvW? Roam with a small havoc group? Solo? Defend? Zerg fight?

Builds will differ A LOT depending on your answer..

Well, normally on the right top of your screen you have a pointer to your current story progression (either it be Kill Zhaitan or something more advanced in the current Living Story). Also, check your mails, because some parts of the current Living Story activate upon reading a specific mail..

New Area: Silverwastes is the newest addition, with quite some champions, events, grinds, … But the Living Story will direct you towards there normally..

If you are trying to do map completion, then there is no need at all to invest for those Living Story stuff.. The LS doesn’t unlock anything that you need for the map completion, afaik.. (had map completion on my ranger before LS was even born)

Gear wise you’re OK (exotic isn’t the best – ascended armor/trinkets/weapons exist in the meantime), but it depends a bit on what you are willing to do in the game.. Did you focus on PvE before your break? Or were you an avid WvW player? Or … ?

Aye, they are just monitoring the forums after sneak-patching something like that.. The first person mentioning it will get banned for previously using the exploit.. Cya later!

Simply follow somebody and once there are X people following they get a tag while the follower count is large enough…

Make it percent based and allow 3 commanders per map.

Why does being followed by 10 kittens give you the right to tag up?

It’s true that there are ‘old’ players who frown upon newbies, but luckily they are not the majority in the GW2 community.. I think that if you communicate decently (mention it’s first time for you, ask advice during the run), that this is more appreciated then being a Fractal veteran who just rushes through it all, expecting that the entire party knows what to do..

Newbies are always welcome when I do a (low level) fractal run!

Well, the hardest jumping puzzle in my opinion is the one in Obsidian Sanctum (WvW).
Takes quite some time to complete it, and if you are having a bad day, you might get farmed by opponents at the end..

Depends A LOT on your preferred playstyle.. I roam with a full glass Ranger in WvW..

1v1 normally doesn’t take longer than 10-20 seconds (either in my advantage or not, depends on opponent (his/her skills)).

Pro: Just see the DMG numbers!!! (Rapid Fire for 10k)
Con: Squishy as hell – Don’t expect that you can take a good hit – evades are your friend!

I see other people who like to roam with a more bunkery build (Thoughnes / Condition Damage): They can withstand quite some hits, but they depend on conditions to get the opponent down..

As said: playstyle.. :-)

If you would do a continuous ping to Google.com and startup your GW2 client until it disconnects, did all pings to Google succeed?
Thinking it might be something with your network configuration rather than the game servers
