It’s weird how I have NEVER crashed before HoT, but now since the release I’m getting OOM crashes CONSTANTLY.. At max an hour in a populated map and I’m certain that I’ll get a crash.. Of course this makes it impossible to do any of these meta-events, since I’ll lose map progress every time..

Have been an avid GW fan since GW1, but I don’t think that I’ll be going for GW3 (if ANet isn’t out of business by then), since apparently they have some people there more concerned about a release deadline than the quality of their client..

Have you heard? Anet will remove all combat from the game, since too many people already died in warfare..

Since getting it from the mystic toilet is actually an RNG game, you are only certain to get it when buying it.. Some people get Dusk after some attempts, others are still putting stuff in the toilet since launch, to no avail..

That’s a big “No” actually: The moment you neutralize the ogres, they despawn from the camps.. So it seems OP encountered a bug somehow..

Well, if you have maxed out the settings ingame, then there isn’t much more you can do, is it? You are running the prettiest GW2 that ANet has created.. And taste differs here, actually.. For some even medium looks awesome, while for others the max looks like crap..

Clarifying: It doesn’t matter what tier utilities you equip, but most of the time the higher tier ones are the best.. (although it depends a lot on the situational setup)
For the traits: You can of course put a master trait in a grandmaster slot. However, most GM traits are worth it, so you’d be missing out on some handy stuff.. So for your example: You can put the rifled barrels in the adept -tier and the hair trigger in the master tier..

Is a very good suggestion that has been mentioned before..

Different games have different take on the “thief” class, I hated it when they make it excel in poison and stealth only, but not too much on being agile in combat.

The class mechanic of the thief is Initiative.. You can perfectly make a thief that does not rely on stealth or poison at all..

The server only matters if you are planning on doing WvW with your friends actually..
For other content your server doesn’t matter at all, because there are megaservers (read: multiple servers all compacted into one)..

Should you really want the Dragbonbrand, best check for the off times of this server and try creating your character then..

I did enjoy the run with Chunk and PuLsar last night. Was on a TS so while I couldn’t speak I could hear plans etc.

Managed to get 2 of the 9 caps I need, so 7 to go!

Got plenty of kills too which is always nice. I’ll keep checking the maps morning and nightly and hope that this Friday we are green :-)

They have to be in the AoE circle for it to take effect.. Quite logical, no?
The pulses means that the blind is re-applied on every pulse.. So if an enemy stands in the AoE, the blind will make his first attack miss, but afterwards the blind is gone.. So the reapplying of the blindness with the smoke field blinds him again..

Gah, create your own guild, I’d say..
If they are ‘true’ friends (whether that’s even remotely possible in a MMO game) they’ll leave that guild that kicked you and join you..

Just wanting to point out that LAG =/= FPS drops..

Lag actually means that there is a significant delay between you pressing a button and the server reacting to the button press.. (mostly caused by networking issues on either side)

FPS drops on the other hand will just make your screen stutter, but there will be no delay in you pressing a skill and the server receiving that press (and reacting to it). However, due to the FPS drops it might seem that it takes some time.. FPS drops are afaik ALWAYS caused by your local configuration.. (GW2’s server doesn’t send your computer the amount of FPS it needs to run, that is deduced by your video card).

Nope, Magic Find just increases the drop rate chance of rarer items dropping.

For example, if an Exotic has a 1% chance of dropping, having 100% MF would increase that chance to 2%.

Changing servers is risky as you may not get back to your home server if it is full. ANet should remove the WvWvW from the Map Completion. What do the rest of you think?

It might have been mentioned on these forums before, but the state-of-the-art search function didn’t yield any results, so here it goes..

Is it wrong to assume that, once you hit 100% Magic Find, that every item that drops for you should be like, you know, Magic?
Or is the MF implementation done on another way?

Post-processing and shaders are true performance hogs, so disabling those will already give you some FPS gain..

Hint: Just set it all to Best Performance in your options, then tweak the options you want until you found the perfect balance between Performance and Appearance..

For disambiguation purposes: Metabuilds are – in my opinion – working setups.. However, some metabuilds require a lot more player skill than other..

I dont see how you can play another class just because you feel a braindead monkey can play ranger. I mean you can create any class go to a website with the metas and then learn what buttons to mash. Any class can randomly hit buttons and kill an opponent. The thing with rangers is that they are at range and for whatever reason that just freaks people out (same with stealth) so that they just stand there and stare at a wall or w/e people do when they get hit by rapid fire.

That kind of depends on what exactly one is looking for when playing a game.. I personally would rather show some decent playing skills, knowing that at the end of the fight it was either a mistake I made or excellent play from me (and/or my opponent, always with 2 in player fights).

I used to have that feeling when stomping with my ranger (since everyone used to QQ about rangers being worthless, …).
However, now that the ranger isn’t “worthless” to most (for me it was never worthless), you see an enormous increase in rangers in WvW..
The moment ranger gets nerfed into oblivion and everyone starts QQ’ing, I’ll get it back from the shelf.. ;-)

Also, rangers have had access to Longbow since launch, but somehow the QQ about LB rangers has increased a lot during the last months.. So it was also in the past that the ranger could do his/her mayhem from range, but somehow that was not a problem at that time..

Same why thieves are at the moment also no longer considered being so OP: The revealed-nerf has impacted players, so you’ll need to have some player skills in order to get out of the fight as victor..

Underneath a skill you have at times a little red bar, which means that your target is out of range at that time.. The moment the red bar from underneath the skill in the skill bar is gone, you are in range.. :-)

So tell me, what exactly struck you with that argument? Do you feel personally offended for some weird reason or so?
Or are you claiming that the learning curve of rangers has increased even more than it used to be in the beginning?

To elaborate my statement: Ranger felt awesome for me when everyone was complaining about it, since it wasn’t viable blah blah blah.. And I loved playing it, just to show you all that it IS viable.. Stomping a player in WvW (probably one of those complaining on the forums about how crap rangers were) never felt so rewarding..
But now that they have buffed the ranger weapon wise (while we actually needed some decent utilities instead), the learning curve is absent! Winning a fight now as a ranger has nothing to do with skill (there are good rangers out there, I know), just make sure your LB burst is ready and hitting (applicable to 80% of the rangers that were created during the last 2 months or so)..

Hmmz, this sounds a bit like the good old Spirit Ranger build?
Lots of thoughness, so can take some hits
Lots of condition damage, so you’ll bleed/poison/burn your opponent to death
Lots of vitality, so you can take even more hits

However, bear in mind: Every specific build has an excellent counter build! No such thing as a “one build rules them all”

Entirely agree, and it’s not only with opening bags or activating your essences of luck..
