Just buff the end loot when finished killing all the bosses, there everyone’s happy.

The loot is already pretty good if you do the event correctly. Buffing the loot is not the answer, doing the event the right way is.

The loot is mediocre if you have a huge guild with coordination. 6 champ bags in 7 minutes is the absolute best you can get at highest efficiency.

Does Anet expect the average experience to be at highest efficiency? No.

Nothing in this game should be balanced on highest efficiency.

Thick Leathers still have speculation opportunities, but that’s down the road. Once the vendors leave and the Thick Leathers drop down to 8c again will it be good to invest again.

Quartz is also a goodbuy opportunity right now due to it’s drop in price. I’m currently replacing my silver ore stocks with quartz while I sell them.

Meanwhile, the gold ’n gem exchange rate has gone up by 35% over the past six months. Where in ‘pleasuring players’ does requiring hardcore farming or ponying up cash for gold fit in?

Farming = Inflation = Higher prices for legendary mats.

I don’t think you understand your economics. Farming materials means more materials in the economy (higher supply), which leads to lower prices.

Farming gold directly would cause inflation, but that’s not an issue here.

The best way to farm these is to do Hamli with all gambits except for the outnumbered one.

If there is a patch coming, do not log out. Instead, remain in the map until you get kicked, that way you do not have any competition.

The only similarities are the bosses’ names.

And it’s a glorified raid without the rewards.

China will continue to effect our development, ANET is still developing for both, so they will want to keep content as similar as possible. Also, whereas before this wasnt as big an issue, now, you must remember, an upleveled 80 tends to have a lot less traits/trait points than they used to. The difference between a level 80 and a level 50 is now super drastic.

I would very much prefer that Anet designs content with both NA/EU & China as a consideration, and where possible tailor changes to NA/EU & China specifically rather than lump both together because China GW2 is ‘more important’

Actually, an Anet dev just admitted now that one of the content changes in this patch was as a result of China. Look at the dev tracker.

I beat her on my 4th try today with a lootstick. Last year it took me a few days.

My investments of Orrian Truffles/dodge food have failed massively so far. Those ascended/ferocity changes have really made a huge difference. I was able to beat Liadri on my 4th try. I remember spending days doing it last year, and the one time I did beat it I got it barely.

I think I may end up breaking even on truffles while losing out on foods as it’s hard to sell all those stacks. Thankfully my (potential) losses are offset by Thick Leather. I don’t know how many I still have left to sell but I spent 5 hours selling stacks upon stacks at 30c. Silver Ore is also moving well.

It’s intended that Anet doesn’t want you to farm.

Instead, Anet wants you to:
-Spend all your gold as donations and throw away your mats for Boxes
-End up dedicating time with little to no rewards
-Resulting in being broke and having to buy gems to make a living in GW2

OP is just one of those people who enjoy content that takes a long time but rewards little.

By all means, if it satisfies you – fine. But you’re a small, small minority. But let’s sacrifice the game’s future just to satisfy you.

By removing gold income, players resort to gems > gold. Or at least, Anet believes so.

Why do you think in the blogpost they included a reminder that you can convert gems to gold? That’s the first time they ever did that and it was suspicious.

Anet has nerfed every single farming event ever since release. I’m surprised they haven’t reverted dungeon rewards, as that is the only significant gold faucet now.

3 hours later and I’m still selling Thick Leather Sections at 30c. I don’t know how much longer it’ll take ;(

So I just tried the new Pavillion, and Anet – you really messed up with this event.

The lack of people showing up to do the pavillion just shows the reception of it.

No loot for any effort whatsoever is going to kill any type of activity you do.

Sadly I may have overestimated the difficulty of Liadri. With the ferocity changes and introduction of ascended gear, Liadri seems to be much easier now ;/

I hope Scarlet’s Rifle isn’t included, though I only have one, so it’s not too much of a risk..

I try to stay away from skins because it can take months for the price to go up to a certain level, and the longer you go, the more risk you assume.

When S2 rolls by I think it’ll be safe to invest in those until the last chapter for S2. S1 is too risky.

Why would they rollback something that was entirely your fault? You sold your pieces on your own accord – you weren’t hacked.

This type of system would be so easy to exploit if we were given a free rollback, no questions asked.

I.e. I would list my Eternity for 3000g and my friend would buy it. He pockets it. I then ask for a rollback, for which they give me a free Eternity, destroy the 3000 gold, yet my friend keeps the Eternity. Now there is an extra Eternity in the economy that shouldn’t be there.

But why would it matter? 10g really is immaterial when you are considering making something as expensive as Eternity.

You lose more than 10g the moment you buy materials for Eternity and it’s components due to price fluctuations. Don’t fret about the sigil. Just make it.

Thick Leathers are now at 48c. Price is moving upward and slowly due to price walls.

I for one am excited to see how far it goes up. I don’t think it’ll go as far as +1S, but I’m hoping at least 60c.

As a former hardcore farmer, this is the best change Anet had made in a long time.

They should have done it sooner, but it’s done.

if you look carefully most of, if not all of the skins you can get from these vendors are all account bound like meta rewards from previous content. you wont be able to sell these and its likely the tokens used to buy them will be accountbound frops. so i dont see what the fuss behind market manipulation is here..

If someone had access to this patch, then it is likely they had access for the other vendors as well, including the Zeph Sanctum Trader.

No offence but.. this thread has been dead for 22 days and now you want to chime in?

The first link sounds to me like someone trying to manipulate the market to their will- ori isn’t as hard to get as silk (no nodes) or karka shells (from mostly infrequently done content, the queen being exeption) so the price is unlikely to jump as dramatically. You can get around ~45 ori a day just from noding, add a couple salvages and it really isn’t that rare.
The article’s also not taking in account those who already have that amount. Hoarders exist, there’s no denying that.

The second article seems more reasonable.

They undoubtably make people sign contracts that they won’t use information gathered ahead of time for their own purposes.

And there is the occasional person who actually doesn’t sign a contract and then immediately break it.

They could give me access to the PTS servers, make me sign contracts, and I’ll just slip you a note to gradually buy item X so as to not arouse any suspicion.

The market will correct that very, very quickly.

What ends up happening the moment the patch hits is that the most efficient material will be bought up to the point that it will be somewhat equal to other materials.

So for example, gossamer may be the most cost-efficient material, but it will be bought up so quickly it will end up being as efficient as Thick Leather or mithril.

Well I’m sitting on 1k gold worth of gold ingots and ore… Ore has risen 40c since I bought it so technically I’ve already made about 800G in a few days, but we shall see the outcome post patch

I’ve been hoarding gold ore/silver ore hoping for that jewelcrafting 500 patch one day. Sadly I bought both at 1s/35c respectively, so I have lost gold on it. Someday, it’ll go back up…

Have you ever read up on why the Cantha District in DR was originally removed?

I tried to find some reasons. I believe what I heard was that it was to avoid offending the Asian demographic with their own representation of an Asian continent. Is this correct?

It was speculated that in order for GW2 to launch in China, they had to remove any references to Asian culture. So if we have any chance of getting Cantha, GW2 has to leave China completely. Which we know is impossible now.

Yeah I finally dumped all of my unids. Still a good profit, but I should have done it sooner. I’ve invested it all in Orrian Truffles which I expect to double. I just hope it spikes initially rather late than last time
