Anyone else think ectos could increase in value? With the scheduled metaevents, ectos will most certainly be acquired at a fixed rate now.
I’ve been hoarding my 1250 or so stacks I got from metaevents in the past 2 weeks hoping it’ll rise on average 2-3 s.
An increase in ectos would also surely result in increased T5 prices.
Unfortunately the color box is so small that sometimes it’s easy to mistake yellow/orange.
I accidently salvaged an exotic that way.
I tell myself everyday that it was not a precursor.

My fondest memory of RISE was when they were on SoR during S1 and they decided to GvG on the map while we proceeded to lose a T3 tower.
good job.
Ya…kitten , those people need to get a clue. Some people fail to grasp the concept that you need to defend stuff until friday night, when it starts over and goes on like nothing happened.
//salute rise
Or some people fail to prioritize and understand that GvG’ing on a Sunday on a pivotal week is a pretty poor decision.

Legendary is a luxury, but not a prestige item as it can be directly bought from tp with real money in a minute.
You know people keep thowing this phrase around without fully understanding how expensive buying a legendary with real $ is, let alone the # of people who are willing to do so.
Just get it done ASAP, patch usually drops noon EST or 9 am PST.
Maybe it doesn’t need marketing
Kind of like how Sriracha hot sauce has become incredibly popular in the past few years or so despite having 0 marketing other than word of mouth.
If you looked at my guide you can get a full stack of T6 mats in about a month of farming.
You can also get a lot of T6 mats if you wish to gamble with clovers.
I’m 100% sure it’s going to be about Living World season 2, but the twitter replies indicates that it’s both feature and content.
So I expect an outline of content that will be coming along with Season 2, which will show at least one new zone and hopefully end up with 3-4 by the end of the year.
They will also outline the new reward system that will be put in place in the near future – the same reward system that shelved/delayed precursor crafting.
Along with other important content, such as new races, new cities, new weapon types, e.t.c.
This could very well be the content that was discussed several months ago by guildwars2hub as “better than an expansion”
This is something that I’ve had struck in my throat for a while now and just haven’t managed to swallow at all.
There’s a trend in the LFG system that involves asking for members with a minimum Achievement Points (AP) score for several dungeons, not even to get into the “Zerk Warr only” LFG ads…
So it’s got me thinking, AP only indicates how much you’ve played the overall game and beyond I believe 20 AP that you get for clearing every path in a dungeon, a player’s dungeon experience is in no way related to the amount of AP he/she has. In fact, I know players who’ve been absent from GW2 for quite a while with over 10k AP and they struggle to get their rhythm back and make the sort of mistakes you’d expect from somebody who’s attempting said dungeon for the first time.
Therefore, what does AP have to do with dungeon experience and player ability?Keep in mind this is no rant, I just hate seeing groups disband for such idiotic reasons on the rare occasions I do use the LFG tool.
So it’s gone from gearscore, to class discrimination, to this now. gotit. And people wonder why some of us were hoping when we bought this game that we’d never have to deal with the dungeoneer community again.
you’re playing the wrong type of game if you don’t want to deal with other people who want others that are similar to their playstyle.
There will always be speed runners, elitists, casuals and terrible players.
If you don’t like that, then I suggest playing an RPG or a single player game.
Otherwise, you gotta deal with it.
Somewhat related:
If you have extra money around I highly suggest that you consider investing in the gamepad n52te.
With key binds you can pretty much play the game efficiently with one hand. I myself only use the mouse for looking around, which you can do easily with the gamepad.
From the Dolyak Express post, unid dyes will be acquirable from rewards, the forge and the TP, so it is not account/soulbound.
I hope dyes require something like:
1 Mystic Coin
50 Leather Scraps
1 Elonian Wine
1 something something
yeah it doesn’t make sense but I dream!
All these examples of people with xxxx AP and not knowing dungeons aren’t too relevant.
After all, someone who has run most dungeons and only has a few hundred AP would not be properly geared or doesn’t know how to play their class to the best of their ability.
While you have people who don’t know dungeon boss fights but know the most appropriate weapons and traits to use.
And as I said above, AP isn’t a good measure but it’s the best we have to deal with at the moment, so it’s what I use.
Either way, I don’t have any problems picking someone with 5000AP over a guy with 10000AP
Sell or use. Never both.
And then the entire game’s economy collapses due to rampant inflation and lack of supply. Well done! You “fixed” it!
No. Don’t you think you can fancy yourself as bing right by using some economic verbiage.
Resellers cause inflation by decreasing the value of gold.
It’s funny how you make that comment over someone simply using the words ‘inflation’ and ‘supply’ when you end up doing the same thing.
And you don’t even apply the term correctly.
If you wish to have educated conversations on the economy, I suggest you post that on the BLTC subforum.
(edited by Vol.7601)
AP is not a real measurement of player ability but the best one available.
i was referring to damaging more than the “first” 5 enemies you hit, say you start spinning with the axe, you will start damaging 5 enemies, Unless you Leave the area of some of those enemies you wont anymore enemies other than those 5 meaning youll only tag 5 enemeis for loot unless you move around.
To supplement this, using staff 1 on incoming mobs also isn’t effective if you move around. In my notes about Grenth, I make the suggestion to encircle the mob while staff spamming, as this ensures you tag as many mobs as possible.
The only time you will be able to attack the rest of the mobs by staying stationary is hoping those first 5 mobs die before the end of the skill/tick.
I would welcome the components of a legendary to be locked behind something as difficult as Liadri.
You don’t feel superior enough being able to brag about beating a boss?
Looks like someone didn’t beat Liadri
I’ll be IDing my dyes to fill in the gaps on my palette first then using the mystic toilet to try and make the the other missing colors come up.
Don’t jump the shark and assume that everyone is doing the same thing.
Imagine how many Bifrosts that could be made from this seeing as how the requirement of 250 dyes is dropping to 100 to make the gift of color. One account with at least two full dye palettes could make in theory at least 4+ Bifrosts.
The difference of 150 dyes is nothing compared to the other costs involved in making Bifrost.
The requirement nerf helps but it’s by no means significant.
I would welcome the components of a legendary to be locked behind something as difficult as Liadri.
Then again, a lot of casual players and baddies would complain.
Unfortunately, gold/luck is the ‘best’ solution right now.
Yeah I just remembered about Bifrost, kitten
The people who are going to get rich off this are the ones that bought the cheap does for a few copper/silver.
And this is assuming unid dyes are tradeable after the patch.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Vol-s-Epic-Gold-Making-Guide/first
My guide which will be nerfed in half on April 15th.
As I mentioned in the guide, GS2 has the best literal DPS – damage per second.
If you look at something like staff 3, pay attention to how slow the damage ticks – it’s about 1 second.
Then look at the damage ticks for greatsword – it’s considerably quicker, in the milliseconds.
2nd beacon is the best place to use GS 2 because mobs die there very quickly (given a zerg) and there are more than 5 mobs per wave. In particular, I use GS2 on the wave that comes from the stairs (north east).
Here’s what happens – 10 mobs come from the stairs, and because people zerg them at the point of vulnerability, the mobs die one at a time and quickly, often inbetween DPS ticks. As a result you need a skill that will tick very long and sustainable throughout that particular wave. GS 2 is good for this (of course, warrior dual axe is better)
No need to compete for loot/resources.
^ how this feature isn’t standard in the latest MMOs is absurd (yes, I’m looking at you ESO)
There really is no way to tell what direction dyes will go long-term after April 15th. There are good arguments for both directions.
Well, there already is “legendary” armor in the game
e.g.:
[&AgHZGQAA]
but these items are reserved for the legendary guards in WvW so the item codes only exist for them.
It is unlikely, as you said, due to the sheer number of possibilities.
I don’t think we will see legendary armors – but we may see legendary dyes, which add unique particle effects to each piece.
I’m in favor of removing the trading post…for a month.
Just to make people like OP see how terrible it would be for the game and how incredibly frustrating it is.
I remember when the TP was down for the month at launch…it was not pretty.
Transmutation splitter works on reskinned items created from a transmutation stone/crystal.
Eternity is created not from a transmutation item but from the mystic forge.
So no, it won’t work
A precursor.
Actually no, a legendary.
kthx
I have a ton of cheap superior sigil runes juuuust incase they can be used in the newly upgraded forge.
Very low risk since I bought them 1 c above vendor price.
This is great general advice. For those with some bank room and a little gold, there is barely any downside to investing in things that are 1c over the vendor price.
Before the patch, look at things like minor runes/sigils, gemstone mats, and so forth. There are some very low-risk gambles that can be made in the next week.
I also invested into the sigils of conjuration and sanctuary. Both are the same and give 5s of invulnerability at 26 kills. As each killed player in wvw will give 5 charges after the patch, those might become popular for zerg fights, if they dont get changed.
Smart, never thought of that. Too late for me to buy in now ;[
Then again, even if they don’t change it for the feature patch, I think that sounds too OP that they would nerf it eventually.
Has anyone tried leashing the Grub to it? If that’s even possible…
First Wanze talks about lore, then suggests mounts
Is this real? Or did you he get hacked?! How uncharacteristic…
Next we’ll see suggesting the removal of TP fees and 5G waypont fees !
Just hope for future leather uses in the future that can be huge sinks:
-Capes
-Precursor crafting books
-Trader Merchant for BotW
who is this Wanze, and why is he talking about lore?!

Maybe your son knows how to efficiently tag mobs and you don’t…
Can you explain then why people’s accounts are seemingly cursed, and other’s, seemingly blessed? Farm as much as you like, I don’t care, you clearly don’t farm on the same server as I do. People get lucky, yes… and for some reason, they get a lot luckier than others. Not just once.
I get named exo’s from the forge, and that’s as far as it goes. I’ll occasionally get an exo drop (not like the reward chest I mentioned earlier), but that’s as far as it goes. Like I mentioned in my last post which you seem to have glossed over, this is possibly the most stupid RNG mechanic I’ve ever seen in any game. Brutally simplistic retorts don’t help anyone, and are far from productive.
Why are people cursed? Again, they are not ‘cursed’, they’re just victims to RNG. There really isn’t much to explain about it and you’re making a big deal out of something so simple.
It also doesn’t help that these same people who seemingly spend thousands of hours in game yet haven’t got anything are doing the wrong types of content to get a good chance at more rolls.
Quiz time for you – who do you think has a better chance at getting a precursor?
-A player who spends 3000 hours in WvW
-A player who spends 3000 hours in dungeons
-A player who spends 3000 hours farming open world, high density mobs
And yes, anyone can farm events in one server, like the dozens of people who farmed events like shelt/pen in the old days, to angaria farm today.
But not many people even considered the thought of guesting and completing these events on multiple servers, which increased the # of mobs they killed and the # of loot rolls…until my guide was released.
In fact, the metrics show that at least 80 people have downloaded the metaevent timer, and at least 8 people are using it right at this moment. Before, there were only 424 downloads (499 now) and 2 active users.
So after thinking about it…
Anet said they will not be introducing these schedules in the Orr zones (Temples), which would suggest that guesting would still work in these zones.
So the Orr farm will definitely still work. The problem is handling the downtime in between these events, which I currently allocate to metaevents.
Metaevent trains are no longer worth it, as we are now guaranteed a rare every 15 minutes, which for me is at least 4.8 gold in 4 hours, or a pathetic +1G/h.
Karka trains now seem to be the best bet to handle these downtimes. Unfortunately, it is extremely boring and not as rewarding as the pre-Apr 15 metaevent trains, but it’s the best compromise.
My new estimates for gold is at least 200g a week now. T6 mats will still be acquirable but I do not think I will be able to generate two stacks of ectos – only +-150 pieces.
Got another precursor, # 7 (3 forge, 4 drop)

Remember, you just need to farm lots and lots of mobs to have lots and lots of chances.
I farm as much as you do, and probably as often. I did zone completion of Mt Maelstrom on my guard last night because I was bored, and funny thing was I actually got two exotics in the zone completion chest. Level 71 exotics, but hey… got a couple of gold for one and three dark matter and some ecto from the other. Yes, RNG will be RNG, that said I still don’t have any precursors to my name, and I’ve been playing since beta.
Yes, we realise your RNG is good, but there’s no need to keep rubbing our noses in it. This has already turned into a griefing thread, and you’re just poisoning it even more.
I don’t think anyone farms as much as me. In fact, before I released my guide a week ago, I only knew of half a dozen players who are regulars farming the events I do in all three servers
I really don’t care if you think I’m poisoning this thread, as that is not my intent, but I guess you wouldn’t mind having people here join in on the ‘my account is cursed’ train while conveniently ignoring the people who were lucky.
RNG is RNG. You don’t get it, tough luck. You get it, grats.
I don’t see hard mode ever existing for open world. They would have to totally rework and balance the entire game, which is not worth it.
Besides, who would want a hard mode for open world? Why would you do hearts and dynamic events in hard mode? They would have to intricately redesign all these events to also account for scaling.
The only way I can see Anet introducing hard mode is in dungeons/instances.
I just reached 300% mf last week and now stocking up on essences. Would be nice if we could NPC them or have a vendor that trades them in for items.
(edited by Vol.7601)
OP just doesn’t know how to make gold and decides to do the worst thing ever to make gold.
And you expect end-game items to be easily acquirable. That’s not going to happen.
If it’s no, RIP to Attuned/TTS
I’ll be happy to start supplying them again when ANet quits bumping all my alts out of Sharkmaw every time they log in
.
They still do this? I know they did this back when we had those cinematics for LA, but I was planning on sending my alts there eventually.
Anything short of complete removal of the scheduled events will be a disappointment.
Answer these questions first
-how do you define ‘rich’
-how can the game define rich so that it can be properly coded
-how do you expect to close all the loopholes while also making sure the game is not changed significantly?
