Selective memory and too small of a sample size. It’s not physically possible for everyone to be losing more than they win; both teams can’t lose*.
*Unless turrets are involved, then everyone does indeed lose.

The “Reason why the matchups are terrible now” is because the class balancing was a failure and they didn’t listen to the players suggestions in the now deleted balance forum.

At some point you have to realize that 6k auto-attacks are broken, that having both the biggest range and highest damage is broken, that immob stacking is broken, that useless elites for a class means something broken, etc…

The game had great potential but the meta went the wrong way into the cheapest of tactics and cheesiest of builds.

Unfortunately, while it should, the traits threads indicate otherwise. ANet can keep their fingers in their ears for a VERY long time.

Indeed, like the WvW tournament were you know all the winners in advance, to EOTM karma farming to all the balance problems and the missing GvG..

Personally I do not even believe them when they say SAB is coming back; plenty of times already they backed out on things they said they would do. I think they just said that to calm players’ outraged after they announced they have not done any SAB-related progress for all that time and didn’t plan to work on it. I am more inclined to believe their initial statement when they said that SAB is not coming back.

I’ve never seen a 40 page thread being ignored on any other MMO game forum.

When something is as discussed as the return as SAB for years you can’t just hide in a corner and say empty phrases like “maybe” “sometime later” “one day” “we don’t know when”, it makes it seem like you don’t care about your customers (we did buy infinite continue coins).

For 3 years people have been discussing content being removed from the game and while you didn’t make the same mistake for Living Story season 2 we can’t say that you have listened to the people in regards to the other content released before.

New players feel like they have missed all the best stuff, it’s not a good sign.

You’ve obviously never play any nexon game ever, Anet customer service are shining golden gods compared to them. Just because they dont comment in one thread doesnt mean they arent paying attention. they have no information for us that hasnt already been said hundreds of times. they have no plans currently to re-release SAB, do you want them to come in and say it again or something?

And Xillllix, they do listen to the community but you cannot expect them to drop all of the work on the expansion just to re-release the SAB do you? they’re working towards something bigger than a simple jumping puzzle gauntlet. they’re releasing an expansion to 3 regions if not at least 2, do you know how long that takes? its not something simple. taking people away from a major project to piddle away hours on re-releasing SAB. That would be madness and unfair to the players dying for HoT.

SAB is there in the game already, it’s just locked. Releasing old instanced content wouldn’t delay the release of the expansion.

Is it just me or lag, 3 times out of 5 it no longer does it’s non-condi damage since today?

I go right into the practice golem on target and no numbers are showing up 3 times out of 5. Only the condi damage is working every time.

Seems to be a unusual lag issue…

It is true that we have not said anything about Super Adventure Box in a while, but honestly, there is nothing new to say about it yet. I posted a few months ago to reassure the community of players that SAB will be back in the future, but that we did not have a date for its return. The same remains true today. We will be bringing it back, but we have not set an exact date for its return.

So basically they won’t release the current SAB stuff again until they have new levels, which will probably take years to do at the current pace. They fail to understand or listen to what the community wants.

Yeah this engi meta is ruining the game when the classes are stacking. This proves the point of a thread I posted like a year ago, 2 of the same class should be the maximum allowed in a team.

Engi knockdown is too long or they have too much of it.
Turrets shouldn’t be allowed in capture circles, just like stealth or mist form isn’t.
Shield invul has a too low cooldown.

Basically as soon as you fight 2 engies or more your getting thrown all over the place. When your stability has a freaking 75 second cooldown you have to wonder what sort of balancing has been done.

Is there ever going to be some kind of guild movement invovle in this game other than grouping together and going into WvW or Challanges/Dungeons? how about some real guild vs guild action a good idea is like something to the open world of tyria, a duration of some sort of War against another guild in the open world game, you know when two guilds dont like eachother they can agree on a documention of declaration of war. Fights anywhere they are sighted at anytime during a certain duration or something, in the open world of tyria against their enemy/rival guild!

If not that…atleast some sort of Guild Hall Seige PVP Queue or something…

that would be cool and good addition to this game seeing how it is called guild wars :P And ik….storyline, whatever.

Apparently not, it seems Anet fail to realize the revolutionary step forward that would be for the game, and how it would make the GW franchise stand out. Instead we got a round arena with no scoreboard.

According to Colin Johanson, Guild Wars 2 Game Director, Super Adventure Box will be back in the future. We don’t have a timeframe for the return of the SAB, but we will be bringing back this popular content.

I know you would like more details, more info, a date, etc., but that’s not available right now. I hope the above comment reassures you, though, because at the core, the important answer is that yes, SAB will be back in the future.

This was posted 6 months ago, after a 1 year long waiting period. Perhaps since it is taking years to make new content for SAB Anet should just re-release what was already made so that we may enjoy it once more? Please!

Sounds like you need to join a Roleplaying guild.
Most people in this game just stack in corners and dodge against wall when it comes to dungeons.

I am running at 1980 × 1080 on my 5K iMac and the game will crash within 10 minutes if there are lots of other player characters around, such as in WvW games. Seems ok doing the personal story.

That doesn’t have anything to do with your Mac precisely, the mac version crashes in WvW since the game was launched. It was at some point fixed for almost a year and then they broke it again with the last feature patch.

I’ve noticed that if I have something on target and I use the skill it fails to blast unless the target is also in range. This seems to be a bug.

The only new skill the ele gets in over 2 years is bugged… And never fixed.

There is absolutely no way a company of Anet’s size could produce content to fill the gap whilst making an expansion. It is simply too much work and too many resources. It isn’t feasible for them, nor is it feasible to request it of them.

Because the last we heard from ArenaNet, they had more than 250 people.

And the Living World team was just a few people.

Meanwhile, while they were working on a project called Guild Wars 2 (which was slightly bigger than an expansion), they still left a few people working on the original Guild Wars so it would have some new content. It was called the Live Team (sounds familiar, doesn’t it?).

Speaking about the original Guild Wars, three years after release they had already published 2 full new campaigns, more than doubling the size of the original game, released 4 new professions, released a huge number of new skills, were about to release the first real expansion, AND were already working on Guild Wars 2. That, with a much smaller team than they have today.

Sounds like asking for more content than what we have today isn’t only “feasible”, it’s logical and obvious.

These companies have to think many years ahead of time. There is really no doubt that a good portion of their team is working on GW3 or another franchise now that GW2 is released, and that only fraction of their full team is working on the GW2 expansion. This is the only explanation why successful items like SAB are dropped.

People complained about the Living Story being temporary, and not “an expansions worth of content”, they didn’t hate its existence outright.

I think there is a definitive lack of planning ahead. WvW had no substantial updates for an eternity, EotM was never fixed to be anything else than a karma train for upscales, they should make new costumes available on pvp reward tracks and dungeons instead of Gem store items, SAB should be back, the gauntlet as well as the Marionette fight, etc…

The feeling I have with Anet is that they are always trying to see how much players they can keep while giving us as little as possible; The the good stuff they do is removed immediately because of the living story philosophy that everything has to be temporary. They seem to forget that it is only a game, and that story is secondary to gameplay.

It was working fine before all the nerfs. The class has been neglected so much that the bugged skills never got fixed and we have no good elites.

They also forgot the the extra range they initially gave the skill was meant to compensate for the lag. Now often you will use rtl and end up behind the skill default distance if there is any sort of zerg nearby.

People get mad when I suggest it is there ISP or their WiFi or someone in the house streaming Netflix. So I won’t suggest that.

That’s because we know the problem people are talking about now is on your side. Last 3 raids I had we my guild everyone had lag spikes at the same moment, many of us disconnected at the same moment. It was so unplayable all 3 raids were cancelled.

We’re not talking about the usual skill lag we have been getting in StoneMist battles since the game was released, where it takes 30 seconds just for a skill to go off.

What we are getting now are unusual lag spikes, where even if the game says your ping is 100 or below we see people teleporting all over the place, and it’s not isolated cases, it’s literally 90% of the guild having the problem on certain borderland maps.

It’s not hard to guess that one of your server machine needs a reboot or is broken.

It’s just getting really old really fast once you’ve done all the reward tracks multiple times. It’s the same 2-3 maps over and over. Doing a proper GvG system like in GW1 would have been a better decision when designing GW2.

I predicted immobilize would become the most game-breaking annoying bugged-out aspect of the game when they decided to allow it to stack. Guess what, it is.

A lot of things that were perfect on released were broken. It’s what happens when you play and change the stuff that is has been working instead of making new skills for the expansion.

I guess now it’s not really true anymore, since they are finally making new skills.

Not to diminish the hard work of folks at Anet, but personally it doesn’t sound like the sort of hardcore content I’m looking for. I don’t care about mushroom jump mastery… The story in GW2 has never been really good, the strength of the game is the gameplay and art.

How about super-hard dungeons with good rewards?
How about real GvG mode instead of a single pvp map?
How about having 3 different borderland maps and changing the way WvW works instead of making 3 copies of the same map and implementing them in the old imbalanced server-PPT system?

The things I’m really interested to see are the new trait lines and the new WvW map design.

I have to confirm what people have been saying here, WvW today was unplayable. Disconnected twice, and everyone in map chat was complaining about the unplayable lag. It’s usually better than this.

i played fresh air on and off for a long time, always going back to d/d celestial because nothing else is truly viable.

when i play fresh air i play it for a couple of days just to find out that i could simply play thief or guard (or even mesmer) and have it easier + i can do more for my team.
all that fresh air is is a 900 ranged, no boon removal shatter mesmer with laughable cooldowns and no portal/moa.

berserk balance is really bad atm, it’s either play guard or thief or go home (mesmer is okayish).

i made balance suggestions a couple of times but nothing was ever done (surprise) other than buffing water #2, the most useless skill of the weaponset, and the speed increase of earth #3.

what the build needs to be somewhat better is:

- overhaul of the auto attacks, they are slow, clunky and deal unreliable damage.
basically only air is good.

- dragon’s tooth should be a ground target cast.

- shatterstone should be replaced by something that is worth using.

- a good heal for a berserk build, signet is nice and stuff but it’s more of a HoT, bad for fast fights. other heals are crap too.

- a strong elite with a short cooldown, like basilisk venom

- cantrip mastery should make lightning flash 1200 range

- cd reductions on defensive skills would make it so much easier

- an immob please, water #2 maybe?

They’ll never buff the damage or speed of the ele. They’ve been nerfing it to the ground for the last 3 years. Remember the good old Divinity runes+Meteornado days that we could drop in the middle of a zerg and mistform-heal away? or when we could RTL freely across EB?

More and more the staff ele has been confined into a water-bot role as we warned anet, until they realized how they broke the class and gave us Lightning rod to compensate and re-buffed slightly our healing so that we could spend points elsewhere.

The might stacking d/d ele was just a workaround for having to spend all our points in water to stay alive.

First time I post here but I want to show my enthousiasm of an eventual return of the Super Adventure Box !

I play Gw2 since the beginning, I still play everyday especially in WvW.

Imho, Sab was and is the best additional content of Gw2, far way better that all those personal stories season 2, crown pavillon, KarKa queen, etc…. maybe even HoT but still can’t say…

Sab was full of great idea and change the boring way of farming events, champions, collect skins…. it give a fresh air to the EndGame content which is always the same thing since two years.

I want a return of the SAB please Anet !

Hell they could charge 800 gems for people to have access to it and most people would pay, including me (given that free access is granted to those who bought the ICC of course).

I don’t think they need reasons, they seem to be in tunnel vision mode since the release of this game. GvG CDI? New dungeons? New player’s experience? Trait system?

It’s unbelievable that a Guild Wars game still doesn’t have GvG, and the stuff they made instead, like SAB, was removed!

I noticed the lack of GvG. If I didn’t know any better I never would have guessed the game has been out as long as it has. I definitely got my 15 dollars out of it, but man I’d be upset if I got the game at launch. But I’m getting off topic.

Guild wars has nothing to do with GVG stop thinking that. “Guild Wars” the name of the game is based off a war between the various guilds at the time in Tyria. Orr, Kryta, Ascalon being those. Not GVG the PVP mode.(Still on the side of wanting it back, but neither of these posts are useful, and for that matter neither is this one)

That’s just the lamest of excuse. Guild Wars 1 had defined the MMO GvG mode and it was amazing. It is was totally expected that Guild Wars 2 would have GvG. Anyway I was just using this as an example of them not listening. Remember the WvW and EotM CDI?

All they have to do is to prevent class stacking. Anyway, once you realize that pvp is too broken to be an E-sport and that the scoreboard is meaningless the game becomes more enjoyable.

I play burst d/d, on a build most people don’t understand how to play. I literally spent weeks fine-crafting my build until it did everything I wanted. Point is you can craft a build that suits your style of playing, with some imagination.

I agree however that Anet nerfed the ele so bad (and in the wrong ways) they didn’t make our life easy.

Having an elite worth using would certainly help the class. Right now he ele has 8 “active” skills while the other classes have 9 because of our useless elites.

There is condition specific food that gives only 15% condition duration bonus. So why is the specialized boost worse than the general boost?

Because when the sigils and runes were balanced Anet omitted to balance the foods.

That’s really why I don’t see the argument for the infinite coin. It was not a necessity for those that just wanted to play it. You earned plenty of baubles to keep purchasing regular coins, that was hardly an inconvenience. For those that bought it because it negated having to buy coins all the time, I just thought, then it’s really on you for impulse buying something that cost, I don’t even remember, 600 or 800 gems, that you could use only a month at a time, and if you didn’t plan on playing that much anyway, why would you need it? I certainly in your case, would never have bothered in the first place.

I do see your point though and why people are upset, but still, it boils down to people spent gems so they didn’t have to go to Motto with excess Baubles once every so often, which in my mind, it would be my fault for impulse buying something I never really needed.
I just don’t see how people can justify a good reason for buying it if they weren’t going to use it to farm, or if say, I didn’t have a lot of time, regular continue coins would be plenty enough for me. But like I said, people measure value in different ways, what I see as a good deal, many others don’t, and vice versa.

I bought it with the idea that in the long term (moderate play for a month, every six months or so) it would be worth it.

Yes, of course it wasn’t worth it for minimum play in the month of release, which is why people are unhappy.

I’m glad you got use out of it, and wish I’d farmed it as well (or just not bought the coin). But it wasn’t advertised as a short term farming tool.

But, it was never once said that the release would be a steady thing. It was a gamble to buy the coin knowing that is was a limited release and it was up in the air as to when you would get use out of it again, but you will eventually get use out of it again.

I do really see your point, that people got shafted because they took a bad gamble but I can also see where Anet isn’t really willing to just give out a refund to everyone, based on that.

Mostly everyone expected it to be released at the bare minimum once a year. Specially with all the fuss Anet made about the living story and regular updates every 2 weeks.

However the truth is they completely gave up on it after releasing the continue coin and didn’t tell us. Then over a year later, after everyone got mad at them because they said in an interview that they haven’t even started to work on new SAB content, they said it will be coming back in the future (carefully committing to use the words “near” before “future”)

They have to realize at some point the massive failure this is:
1: They underestimated user interest in their own content
2: Removed important content from their game, thus losing a great number of players
3: Spent a great deal of money and effort developing content that cannot even be played while everyone is bored because there is little to no endgame
4: Have sold a virtual item that cannot even be used since 2013

However their inability to understand what the users want extend far beyond SAB…

First and foremost it’s the people that bought infinite continue coins that need to pressure Anet to re-release content related to what they paid for.

I don’t know if you guys all got refunds already, but there is certainly something sketchy about selling called “infinite continue coin” for something that was going to be removed for 2 years, without telling us in advance.

It may be that in the Gem store agreement we agreed that what we buy can cease to work and be temporary, but ethically speaking it is not a practice that should be encouraged.

Since I didn’t buy it I really cannot complain, I can only disagree. What boggles my mind is Anet developing such amazing content and then putting it in the trash for 2 years making sure nobody can enjoy it. It’s just a waste of potential.

It’s not like we are asking for anything new here, we just want the old content back.

Perhaps if we keep this thread on top of the front page for another month or two Anet will eventually re-release it.

Pre 80 no longer welcome in WvW?

It’s because of the rally mechanic that have never been improved. Pre-80 are basically rally bots for all the kills an organized group will fight, and it often makes the difference between losing or winning a battle.

Sometimes when the game crash on mac (like ever 3-4 crashes) it also crash the entire system back to the login screen. I’m using Maverick latest version.

This is really annoying, it’s been doing it since the last feature patch, yes almost a year ago.

This is what I think about the new map and WvW:

Design: 95%
It is beautiful, each area is unique, nice mechanics, however the vertical nature of the map really is in favor if ranged classes, mostly rangers.

Gameplay: 75%
Seems like the good old WvW mixed with EotM but unless you guys have a different scoring system that takes into accounts kills and population it’s not going to feel like things have improved.

Implementation: 50%
Are we having 3 versions of the same map again? The entire WvW server system, transfers, and multiple copies of the same map has to be improved. Why cant we forget about the Borderlands idea and instead just have 3 different maps? EotM as an overflow map is a karma train where nobody even bother to play the objectives and no goal. It would be great to see the objectives of that map being played for real, and servers/alliances could change sides every 4 hours.

We should be able to guest on WvW servers and play with all our friends. If you have to merge servers into alliances to do this then please do it

We also need Obsidian Sanctum to have overflows so that we can GvG any guilds, not just guilds in out tier.

They need to update the Alpine map and give us 3 different borderland maps: EOTM, Alpine and Desert.

Then they can remove EOTM from the overflow karma train and repopulate the servers below tier 1 and 2.

That wouldnt be balanced imo. The reason is because its very easy take an hold an entire alpine map and forsake the other two alpine borders numbers wise. In lower tiers unlike higher tiers (if you guys still do this) each server holds their entire home border while higher tiers especially on reset hold their corner of each alpine map. The new desert border clearly makes it easy to defend your corner of the map with the topography, I think if they introduce all 3 the server who has alpine as their home border will have a huge advantage because the server with desert as their home will find it very difficult to take and hold the entire border.

That’s why they also need to change the scoring system… I think they should merge all servers into 3 alliances and have “overflows” of the 4 maps as campaigns you can guest on. The amount of campaigns would change every week according to the population during the previous week. If you guest to another campaign than your main campaign you contribute to their score but do not get WxP.

This is what ESO does and it works from a population perspective.

yeah i realise we buy gems with no promise of anything other than what we bought from the gem store with them but even so i only choose to buy gems to help fund the new content (and many other players think this way too) i have come to expect from them coz i sure as kitten didnt need a bass guitar in game

I think they would rather sell you a useless bass guitar for 10$ than give you SAB world 3 for free. And if you do buy that bass guitar, the would rather make an accordion or violin they can sell you for 10$ than give you SAB world 3 for free…

I wonder who took the decision to stop progress on SAB before world 3 and 4 were released and became permanent content. That was a terrible, terrible decision.

Yeah I have the same feeling. I didn’t think the expansion would come at the price of another year without new pvp or WvW content and the end of the living story.

I thought the precise point of the living story was that it would keep going.
They could at the very least bring all the content they removed back.

EOTM would be balanced if everyone there was level 80 and it wasn’t an overflow map. The problem is with the way the map is implemented, not the map itself.
