Never understood why they were removed form the WvW game. WvW made so much more sense with the Orbs to capture.
Perhaps we could have another month test, but this time with the Orbs back… (?)
Ok, I have to admit I’m hyped. If ANET can add some of these: new skills, new WvW map, guild halls, raid, zones, dungeons, etc, then I’m really REALLY hyped.

And no, it doesn’t even matter what time of day either, because you’ll get the same results or it will be doubled… The number is very, very low.
These servers are for practice… When you do pvp you do unranked or ranked team queue, and since they now have map voting they are more popular than the other servers.
Could we have a Scoreboard to see the PPK score independently from the PPT score?
Could you then make it so that it stays on the screen beside the PPT?
Proper implementation of the PPK feature would be much more interesting than having PPK as a hidden feature.
And please don’t remove the best thing you’ve done for WvW in a year, keep PPK in.
It’s not what I see at all. People kitten tired of the same boring PPT in WvW that they GvG and PvP more and more. Practically everyone on my friends list does pvp.
The problem is that they will split their community in 2 segments, those who have the expansion and those who don’t. Not sure how that can work in competitive settings. They can certainly lock explorable zones, new classes, but can they lock new pvp maps and new items?
A stopped clock is at least right twice a day.

I once sold by accident a 50g dagger because they went down in my inventory and I had a lag spike while I was selling. Anet never wanted to give me the item back because I only noticed the following day when login in.

Yes unless it’s a hoax there is no way they can expect to quadruple their revenues by sticking to the current formula of living story.
I think the announcement will be proportional to the hype.
If they had something amazing or large coming they would have gradually increased the hype (if their marketing was properly done).
That said on a scale of 10 the hype factor is actually at 1. Will they even be able to say something about the next WvW maps? Or the news SAB world?
Unlocking the skills as you used the weapons made sense and was much more fun than everything being level gated, it followed the players progression.
1- Content removal
2- Making EotM into a karma train for upscaled characters instead of a new WvW map
3- Lack of GvG
4- Lack of Guild halls and other guild features
5- Critical damage and divinity/celestial nerf

I despise the whole lets just spam all of our skills until something kills the other dude except our cantrips we save those for something speshul playstlye of the cele ele. i dont care what weapon i dont care if its bunker or zerker but someone link me a build that neither runs the cele amulet or requires me to give up my job to master it to the point that it overcomes its gigantic weaknesses. please i really dont wanna go back to being warrior scum -_-

Most class just run full Berserker (Mesmer, ranger, Thieves, warriors) so they shouldn’t be surprised that a class that run celestial and bunker can out-sustain them once their burst damage has been avoided.
Instead of placing all your points in Berserker longbow for example to kill eles and engis pressing 2 buttons, place them in defense and we will have an harder time to kill you, if you can dodge.
Hell no to open dueling!
It isn’t about being afraid of losing. It’s about being humiliated by players you decline to duel.
Turn down an invite, or have it set in the options to block invites, and someone who wants to duel you will start insulting you. Calling you a coward and other names I can’t repeat here without them being kittened. Usually players like this tend to hang in groups and they all join in on the fun of embarrassing you. And when other random players pass by, the jerks get them to join in on the teasing. Then you start getting PM’s from random players making fun of you for not wanting to duel.
You do not add or remove gamemodes according to players attitude. If someone has an attitude problem or is harassing you then just report them. Seems you have a biased view of what a duel is, most of the time it’s a very interesting way to share builds and help teach each others new tricks.
Hopefully they have new skills planned for 2015. The game is just getting stale with everyone running the same builds.
T1 for blobs and PPT

Can we say that dueling only works in games with no semblance of balance?
Anet is actually trying to achieve some kinda of balance here… If you want dueling you can find a sandbox mmo with open world pvp and all of the other kinks you want.
ESO will add open world pvp in 2 weeks. It’s going to work with a bounty system of criminals and players taking the bounty called “justice system”, it will be entirely optional for players. While Anet is discarding such new game modes others are finding way to implement it.
The only OP thing right now is Mesmer daze, Immob stacking and Ranger Longbow.
The ranger longbow should do like 50% less damage at 600 range and 25% less at 900 range.
The mac version was stabilized in the last year, but they messed it up in the last few updates and now it crashes as much as on release.
Terrible idea; in Tier 2 OS is often full from Guilds doing GvGs and spectators. Add crafting there and you kill the GvG scene.
Anet’s is playing it too safe to introduce a feature like dueling.
They wouldn’t dare even if it’s the simplest thing in the world, they are afraid people will get angry if they lose (it was one of the reason they gave when they added accidental dueling to Silverwaste).
When will the WvW achievements finally be adjusted to something realistic? I think they all need at least 1-2 zeros removed. Even the 250k kill one is becoming more and more unlikely as the WvW population is getting less and less. You have to keep searching for enemy zergs longer and longer even in T1 matchups. 250k kills is/was possible, but you need to tag everyone in 5000 – 50 men zergs and have them all die. I wont even get started about the other WvW achievements which are even more crazy time consuming and absurd. WvW or even GW2 will be dead before someone gets any of them.
If I remember right it was promised in early 2013 to have the WvW achievements adjusted by end of 2013, now we almost have 2015 and nothing has changed except two achievements for spending supplies.
I think if the achievements and titles would be more realistic goals (such as the Eotm achievements are), more people would be motivated to play WvW again.[Lets try to keep this topic on page 1 and get 1000+ replies so Anet finds a reason to act]
Never man, I posted on this 2 years ago and so did many others. They most probably stopped WvW development. When tier 1 will die maybe they will wake up.
New Elite Idea
Tentative name: “Grandmaster Shard”
Cost: 100 Skill Points and 10g
Description:
When you equip “Grandmaster Shard” instead of another elite you will benefit from 2 extra trait points to spend.
This skill would be available and compatible to all classes, therefore could be account-bound on unlock. It would add new life to build variety to all classes at a fair compromise.
With this elite equipped you would be able to distribute your trait points in order to have 2 grandmaster traits, for example 6/6/4/0/0, or it could be used to invent new build, for example 4/4/4/4/0.
I think this would be easy to program, it would stir the current meta a bit and bring more life to the game.

The week I bought this game I came here to the forum to post a thread titled: “Where is the GvG mode?”
GvG was such a memorable and defining game mode of GW1 that I bought GW2 for it.
It was quite a mystery to me why they would take an amazing game mode as GvG and reduce it to the current PvP game mode, discarding what they had worked so kitten in GW1, a true balanced eSport game type with real teams.
So will they release GvG for GW2 somewhere 3 years after the release? Probably not considering how much they have ignored requests for a come back of this game type.
If I was Anet’s manager the development focus would all be Guild based: GvG, Guild Halls, Guild missions, Guild capes, Guild raids, better Guild representation in WvW, etc. But I’m not, so we get the Living Story instead.
Since they got rid of the Mac posting section I have the feeling Mac support went down the drain. Now all the Mac threads are at page 10+ in a few days, submerged in PC issues.
Bad decision. Now the Mac version crash all the time and they have yet to respond.

They actually are new. Maybe not new as of this sale, but they are new nonetheless.But if you indeed do feel like it is false advertising you can of course bring it to court and gain some money if you wish. (Hint: It won’t work).
To be labelled new they would have to never have been released before. Since they were already advertised as new before advertising them as new again is false advertisement (not that I care that much really, but I would understand the disappointment of someone who spent real money on them).

Yes it’s too much, specially considering most episodes last about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Anet doesn’t know how to reward players coming back and is just discouraging them by asking them to farm for 50g or take out their wallet to play content that was promised to be free. It’s inconsistent with their free to play business model.
Yeah only tier 1 and 2 are doing well with matchup, as soon as you fall down a tier (like to tier 3) it becomes boring as hell. I’m guessing that in 6 months time WvW will only be interesting in tier 1 because of all the people leaving the game.
Same was said about wvw about 2 years ago still there so i am sry you need a bit more to back up what your saying.
Any way its not a pop. problem its a coverages problem if your world is mostly NA players then they play during NA prime time. So even in T1 and T2 maps can look like that at there worlds off times. You simply CANT force ppl into playing when there are less ppl from your world playing and no pop. going up or fall will changes this.
The only true fix would be no reason lock for worlds so you will have a coverages all the time IF you have ppl from all over the world playing during there prime times. But then the location of these servers will be a major problem for most of the ppl who play on that world.
Its a no win and the biggest flaw about RvR games its not a GW2 flaw alone. So the WvW ppl will only go to other games with a RvR that will have the same problem at the end of the day. To get back to “I’m guessing that in 6 months time WvW will only be interesting in tier 1 because of all the people leaving the game.” only as a temp. fix by the ppl who like rvr because its going to happen agen and agen as a new game comes out to no end.
SoS has no problems with coverage, we just can’t find fights on tier 3.
The game is shifting towards upper tier. I’m not talking about balance but about population. It’s easy to predict that in a year the only real action worthy of how this game was on release will be in tier 1, when tier 2 dies only tier 1 will remain.
There are no new hairstyles. It’s not the first time Anet says something is new when it is old just to trick people into buying gems. Always verify on dulfy.

Yeah, all i see from that link is them talking about LS and how they’ve used that to deliver new content. I’m sure they’ll leave out the part about it being delivered at a slow drip with months between chapters that take about an hour to play at a time. Or the cost to players if they miss the update window.

At this point i just want the broken things fixed before they even give us an expansion of any sort.
For me what’s revolutionary about the living story is the removal of content. Never before in a MMO was content removed after 2 weeks in a manner that new players do not have access to it (SAB!). Gradual content delivery would have been ok it they didn’t removed all the good stuff from the first year like the Marionette fight, SAB, LA fight, Scarlett boss, etc.
The tiers were linked to the old system of traits because they used to match in level requirements. It’s just another thing that makes no more sense anymore.
Currently the way me and my friends level up character is:
Play PvP until you have 60 or 80 Tomes of knowledge.
Instant level new character to 80
Delete all the soulbound junk
Now before the NPE some of us were doing PvE story, or EotM, but right now the PvE is so insulting, long and boring that doing PvP became the most rewarding and less annoying way to do it.
If that is what Anet intended then it’s a success. If to the contrary they wanted us to explore more of the PvE world it’s a failure, it just made people like me never want to look at it again. It’s would have been ok only if they released the game like this, but not after 2 years when everyone already has 5+ levels 80 and done world completion.

We’ve been waiting for the dragon a freaking year, so hopefully something will happen and it won’t be a permanent build up to nothing.
The Fiery Greatword elite needs to be reworked to give less mobility. However, its damaging abilities should be vastly improved and it should feel powerful. Of course I am no expert at balance however a concept for a reworked FGS would be this:
(Skill 1) Flame Wave: Similar to how it is now in functionality and about 10% more damage, however now its projectiles each have a 20% chance of being a projectile finisher. Its cast timer should be reduced to 2 sec for 4 fireballs instead of 2.75.
(Skill 2) Lava Tomb: Range 600. Cooldown 6 seconds. Duration 4 seconds. 0.5 second cast time. Ground Targeted AOE. Stab your sword into the ground and summon 3 lava pools that also count as fire fields. Radius would be similar to the traited(Blasting Staff) staff lava font.
It would look similar to the ember NPC attack with 3 lava fonts spaced closely together in a triangle shape. Each lava font does about half the damage of a staff lava font. Since these fonts overlap, keeping an enemy in the center sweet spot will deal the damage of all 3 lava fonts and keeping an enemy in the other overlaps would deal 2x damage. This would also be affected by the trait persisting flames.
(Skill 3) Fiery Whirl: The same but with an 10 second cooldown instead of a 5 second cooldown.
(Skill 4) Fiery Eruption: 600 range. 20 second cooldown. 2 sec knockup. 0.75 second cast time. 0.25 sec delay between when a red circle would appear beneath the enemy and the eruption. Ground Targeted AOE.
Stab your sword into the ground, dealing moderate damage, and knock up/launch enemies caught in the AOE radius. The AOE size would be similar to the traited(blasting staff) staff lava font. Applies 6 sec of burning.
(Skill 5) Firestorm: The damage should be significantly increased(2x?) and each pulse should apply burning. The cooldown should also be reduced to match the duration of the ability.
Example picture for skill 2:
FGS should do as much damage as Lich form and be the same duration.
It’s injust to have a class elite of a class like the necro (having medium armor and 2 health pool) do 3-4 times the damage of the other class like the ele.
It’s the reason why barely anyone find GW2 has good class balance. Personally I find the class balance is terrible when it comes to dps, armors and survival risk factor.

However removing monthlies and replacing them with login rewards? What the hell was Anet thinking? Rewarding players for not playing? Why?
Would be better to revert to the old system, which was better anyway.

But now you get free rewards just from login in… so you don’t even have to play to get your laurels. (Still wondering what Anet was thinking when they did this, because the rest of the daily update is fine, but why the free rewards and monthly removal…?)
PPK is another example of a half-thought/half-done feature.
1 point per kills doesn’t change anything after a week, the numbers just equalize themselves.
Make it 2 points per kill for then a server is in second position,
5 points per kills when the server is in last position,
10 points per kill when the borderland is outnumberred,
3 extra points per kill when you have the bloodlust,
add a kill scoreboard under the ppt,
and THEN and ONLY THEN will it do a difference in the way people play.
They still have to explain why they removed it in the first place after charging for a continue coin. It’s not like it’s bad for anyone to have more content in the game.
Tornado is invisible now when someone else uses it. It’s another old bug that came back.
Not many people have noticed it since barely anyone uses this skill anymore following the last balance patch.

here is an idea i got for WVW….what about summoning? like being able to capture big monsters and using them in WVW to aid us in war. you know? stuff like that, i honestly want grand scale wars….and if you want to take PVP into the real competitive field, i dont think charging gems for war equipment is logical =/…for somethings yea sure, but its a tricky thing. i honestly want WVW to turn into something grand, something epic.
EDIT: if we get the new race of birds (forgot the name), then you guys NEED to add a flying mechanic to the game, obviously NOT an overpowered one, but we would need it….we are dealing with a bird-like race and it would be beyond disapointing to not add flying. also a great implementation to WVW would be aerial combat, and use of the MANY technologies in the game of which we have NO contact with….ever.
There are a million great ideas for WvW because of all the potential it has. Sadly I don’t think Anet supports it considering no content has been made for it in a year.
