It was clear to me that the guy saying it was “about 10% nerf” was lying before the patch. Today we have the proof, on my character the nerf is over 30%.
6 celestial items (3 armors and 3 trinkets) have their crit nerfed by 50% and my divinity runes also got nerfed by an incomprehensible amount. Then you add on top of that the 10% general nerf on all my berserker gear and I get nerfed to the ground. All that time gearing up and making the perfect build to the precise stat for nothing.
I have the feeling that they made these new stats so confusing and hard to compare to the old ones just to make us swallow this gigantic and unnecessary nerf.
As always low hp classes suffer more from this, mostly eles and engis which benefited the most form the celestial gear.
We eles are immune to crits while in earth attunements with the new trait so we can run around longer helplessly before dying to a thief or warrior.
not enough, it’s basically bug fixes.
Ill play ESO until they have more content for GW. I might be regearing my main since the crit nerf on celestial and divinity runes broke my build.
I don’t care about playing dress-up either.
I think it is a 10% nerf in the crit stat, omitting to mention the huge crit nerf to the gear.
Runes of divinity got a huge nerf, same with all the celestial gear, then add a 10% nerf on top of that. For me it’s a 25-30% nerf to my critical damage total.
To do the same damage on my crits as before I need 300 more power (tried it with traits points).
Lots some dyes and skins improvements in this patch but gameplay-wise it’s not a very convincing update.
You should just remove the transmutation charge requirement. It’s really just a cash grab.
Making all the new traits grandmaster traits certainly doesn’t help with build diversity.
On the elementalist:
Having to invest 6 points in Fire on the ele to get the blindness on burning, 6 point in water to heal allies, 6 points in Arcana to get a short boon when hit… Why?
So now I have some ferocity stats that doesn’t mean anything really but it seems to affect crit % that is more than twice higher than what it used to be yet I am making about 30% less damage than before with 20 more points in offensive traits.
All my divinity runes are nerfed
All my celestial gear is nerfed
Best trait line for ele (air) is nerfed (class nerf)
Is this why you have made those new bunker traits for the elementalist? Because you knew we would just get totally destroyed by this patch?
Not to mention the huge red circle when we cast meteor shower now everyone just jump out of it and you can’t hit anyone with your best skill. You haven’t even improved the speed the meteors hit instantly or anything that would compensate for this nerf.
What are we supposed to do now as an elementalist? Put 6 points in Earth and 6 points in water and go around healing people?
“Dyes exclusive to Dye Packs from the Gem Store will be replaced in the event they were applied to multiple characters on the same account prior to the Feature Pack on April 15th. "
So if I bought 4 charred dyes on the TP at 130g each from paid-gem-to-gold-conversion I am not getting a refund?
That really sucks.
Was Snow Leopard the best? Lion is my main and I only became a main mac user in 2012, is pretty stable overall the OS itself has never crashed the way windows invariably will at some point. Do wonder why Apple releases new OS X’s so fast they exhausted the big cat list.
Amongst professional Snow Leopard is regarded as the best os ever made. It was robust and offered complete stability. For a musician or a graphic designer that was it, nothing ever crashed (unless pushed beyond memory limit).
Lion was a huge step down (specially after they messed up exposé and replaced it with mission control), they improved a lot of Lion’s problems with Mountain Lion but it is still a buggier os than Snow Leopard. Maverick is still full of bugs, one of them is the “super-slow-finder” bug where you have to wait up to 10 seconds for the content of a folder to show up.
These company need help programming for Mac: Guild Wars’ TP not working at all for weeks, ESO RvR crashing every 5-10 minutes on mac since release, Counter Strike GO crashing on mac on map changes months after the release, like seriously maybe you should sell games 75% cheaper on Mac.
Sadly Mavricks would force me to update over $3500.00 in software that I can’t afford to do right now. I did check a free compatibility table for 10.7 at Roaring Apps http://roaringapps.com/apps Where you can type in your app name to double check it for compatibility for OS X updates. I just did so, and will be able to upgrade to 10.7 for my Adobe Master Suite CS5 (just not 10.8, as there is a problem with Soundbooth). Also MS office 2008 wont have issues either. It’s a few of my more specialized older apps that wont transfer.
Oh.. and Nageth, thanks for the idea on creating a partition, too bad I am playing on a macbook pro with only 500 Gig space on it atm. Though after checking compatibility it looks as though I may upgrade to 10.7.5 as its going to minimally impact my other software after all.
Though my biggest prob, is they not letting us know in advance of the change so folks could prepare.
I know the feeling. I use so many software professionally that when I get a computer I do not upgrade anything once I have everything running stable. That said, Maverick is not a good os in my opinion, I didn’t see the speed boost promised when testing it, and even the finder was much slower than in Mountain Lion.
Snow Leopard was the best os Apple made, it went downward after, specially on the stability side.
Trust isn’t free. It’s earned. There wasn’t a single update targeted at the core WvW audience since the ruins change last September — and that wasn’t very well designed.
Well the visual design of the ruins was great, but it is lacking the gameplay to go with it.
There is a lack of imagination on the part of the WvW team but not from the design team.
You could have the entire area surrounded by an Asuran force field and change the rules of battle in there, a gigantic time-warp area, nodes system drastically affecting the weather conditions, a central waypoint inside a fortification (or all these things), but no, instead we get the “stay-in-a-circle-and-wait-for-an-useless-buff” gameplay.
Full expansion hopefully.
I just find it extremely worrying that Anet hasn’t showed any interest in a GvG game mode even after all the requests.
It wouldn’t be so hard to make 3 maps for 10 vs 10 and create a guild ladder. Specially since they’ve done it before.
You can GvG – make a PvP arena and set it up so that you can invite another guild.
lol easier said than done. First of all nobody wants to GvG in a PvP arena, they are too small, some builds do not work, and you do not have your gear.
Celestial will be fine after the patch. I am not worried about it (I use it on one toon I have).
Mine won’t be. I calculated my build to the precise stats and now it will lose 25-35% critical damage minimum. It’s a complete disaster.
Well every thing easier said then done that why your here complain about something or “saying” vs trying to make things work in a game. You do have guild community making GvG happen and work i have no idea why your guild is not doing the same do you feel they cant?
I can resume it to 1 word: Boring. GvG in the round circle of the jumping puzzle map (Obsidian Sanctum) is boring as hell. It is a pathetic replacement to what GvG in GW1 was.
So what your saying is that there is GvG but you do not like it. I am sry not every one likes the same things as you do and most ppl who do GvG in OS realty likes it most ppl who watches it realty likes it to i am sry not every one is like you. In fact its the thing to watch on twitch it may not be crazy numbers but there is a community behind GvG in OS to the point that you have players from NA jumping to EU to test them self and with the new worlds coming into play soon (Asian i am not sure what to call it) you will see even more ppl use OS to GvG.
We no that’s not what I am saying at all. I would not define an empty circle in a jumping puzzle map as a GvG game mode.
You can GvG – make a PvP arena and set it up so that you can invite another guild.

You are looking at something around a 40% critical damage nerf on a full ascended celestial set with celestial trinkets and then a 10% general loss of effectiveness on top of that. Why would anyone at Anet think this is acceptable when these are all things that are time-gated and literally took months to get or craft?
You can GvG – make a PvP arena and set it up so that you can invite another guild.

I remember way back when GvGers said all they wanted was a space, and that they would manage their own GvG within that space. ANet gave them that space. If/when they get something more structured, what will they ask for next?
The kind of GvG they have been demanding isn’t even the kind the original had.
Also, why would OS be less ideal than WvW?
It’s a dedicated “distraction free” space that even has an arena design for spectators. It rarely has a queue so it’s easier to get guilds in. If any sort of GvG game play is happening on the other maps, it’s likely the unorganized, just for the heck of it variety because WvW is even less suited to organized GvG during a tournament due to higher incidences of long queues.
Kuper, PPT isn’t meaningless with regards to the tournament and rewards. Also, I don’t know if I agree with your “most” players. There’s many different kinds of guilds and players, and they all have different reasons for playing the game and WvW in particular. I’m a single person and my motivation changes on the daily.
The only reason they gave us a space for GvG is because people complained that there was so many guilds doing GvG that it queue up the maps.
Their GvG arena isn’t meant for us to be fun to play, it’s to keep us out of the WvW game as if we were unhealthy for the community.
Its actually Gold Wars now
Or Gear Wars, considering we will all have to re-gear after they destroy the celestial armors we spent months making.
Anyway, the lack of GvG in this game has been the biggest disappointment in regards to my expectations for game purchase. It’s a feature I was absolutely certain would be in the game. And no I didn’t do “my research”, I was stupid enough to think that GvG was an essential part of a Guild Wars game.
We’re all expecting to be able to choose new stats for our obsolete celestial gear next Tuesday… I will certainly not be spending more time in this game re-gearing up.
It’s quite normal that people expect GvG in GW2 considering there was GvG in GW1.
“Lore reason” doesn’t cut it. It’s not a argument at all, it’s an excuse.
Same issue.
Why is that happening now? The game has not been updated for a while.
Gust
Problem: Doesn’t work
Solution: Make it work
I will never understand why a development team would put so much effort for content made to be enjoyed only as a waiting room for other content.
Why not just make it something competitive instead that affects the score? Why isn’t Anet aiming for something better?
It’s the same with the borderland ruins. Why design such a beautiful area and then make it entirely useless to the gameplay?
I got my 10.000 yak killed recently, so I’m nearly there. 990.000 more to go.
If you divide 10,000 by 990,000 you get 0.010101010101010101010101010101
148,5 more years if you started 18 months ago…
We’d really like to do things like that to make guild claims more visible, but it’s probably not going to happen anytime soon as all our resources are working on more pressing priorities at the moment.
Are those WvW priorities? Is something new coming to WvW soon?
They are better to release more permanent content before releasing more grinding else they will lost most of their player base.
Writing up a sentence fail…
But if it has to do with GvG then I approve.
And almost 1 year and 2 seasons later nothing has been done. When changing unrealistic numbers to decent numbers is that complicated how can we not be cynical in our expectations for better WvW content, PPT & matchup fixes and an eventual GvG game mode?
lol Yes Sir Robin!
The real problem is that there is absolutely no PvE explorable areas that are made for ascended gear. And besides Fractals and no content is skill-wise challenging (new bosses require coordination but very little skill).
Basically once you hit 80 and gear up the explorable portion of the game becomes a walk in the park on a sunny day.
This is why SAB got so popular, for once we had difficult endgame content. But after receiving the “best dl content of the year” award Anet brilliantly decided to take it out of the game, probably more obsessed about controlling the availability of SAB skins on the store than anything else.
How about all stats rounded + same critical damage as berserker…
We could call it “celestial”
Commander tags should be the guild emblems, not colours.
Why it’s taking forever to do such an evident and easy thing is making me very worried about the future of WvW.
Season 2 of WvW is making queues longer than they would normally be. 7 more week of the crap.
The feature patch will kill season 2 instantly as everyone go hunting bunnies for new skins to play dress-up in the wardrobe.
I was really hoping for Guild Halls. But it was not meant to be..
I am surprised no new guild missions are released. I would swear that when an Anet dev explained on the forum that the feature pack would not be like an expansion he said the feature pack would contain stuff “… like new guild missions and general quality improvement…”
With Anet it seems easy to guess what they are not working on but it’s hard to guess what they are really preparing.
Unfortunately, what WvW is, is PvD, PvW and sometimes PvS. EotM is essence of this, the map looks gorgeous, but it’s a braindead run-in-circles marathon.
Yea, if they took EoTM and removed all the PvE objectives / doors etc. I think it would be a fun time for anyone who just wanted to fight. Problem is then it wouldn’t serve the purpose it was designed for which was a waiting room for WvW.
I do find it funny though that they designed a whole map to help with WvW queue’s when that’s only really an issue on like 4 servers. IMO that should be the price you pay for xfering over to a horribly bloated server, but instead they get catered too.
EoTM is too good to be a waiting room. That is the problem right there. It should be on the main WvW map and be made to count for PPT. The PPT system needs to be altered as well to reward defense.
What WvW should change:
- Honestly I think the WvW should be rewarded according to the time that the strengths or spots are maintained and not every time you take, it’s like going in circles all the time .. really stupid, it has nothing of pvp.
Clearly you understand WvW better than does ANet. It should be patently obvious that if you create a competition based around your team holding objectives to win … and then you offer better individual rewards for a totally different behavior (i.e., flipping objectives back and forth) … that you are going to undermine your own game. How ANet cannot grasp that, especially in the face of a classic prior example in the form of the Conquest 3-faction PvP mode in Rift, is totally beyond my comprehension.
It’s not like we haven’t told them before. It’s hard to believe they asked for our feedback again in the last livestream while what needs to be done couldn’t have been said more often and be more obvious.
If you play staff for ccs, have cantrip mastery and around 21k health with guards stacks you can do it. Otherwise if your running a d/d berserker your gonna get destroyed in zerg battles.
The problem as you said has to do with implementation more than quality of content.
- Content like SAB and ZSanctum shouldn’t be removed
- You should be able to replay all the chapters of the living story in instances, including the original southsun story
- You should be able to play sanctum races an Southsun survival with friends
- Election had no repercussions
- the game encourages stacking zergs instead of strategic play (boss and WvW)
- Ruins in the borderlands maps look nice but are boring to take (nobody even bothers) and the reward is pretty much useless
- EoTM mixes servers according to something as irrelevent as “color”, doesn’t count for PPT
- New skills are worse than the ones we already had and only had to be bought with skillpoints
- Patches that were supposed to balance classes created the opposite result
- Their answer to the tons of GvG mode requests was a round arena in a JP map that is boring for fights
The fractal updates at least brought some good content back, but the rewards are so random many people gave up on it.
Average loot has the same problem, when you NEVER want to equip the weapon or armor that you just found it seems clear that there is a problem with the loot system.
There is a serious lack of focus as these examples demonstrate, in comparison to what was the game originally.
The game could be improved so much with just:
1- The possibility of playing PvP maps in a GvG game mode with guild rankings (and some bigger maps added to the rotation)
2- a new WvW matchup system with faster PPT
3- New areas to explore in PvE and replayable LS content
4- Guild halls and new guild missions
Mist form jump off a cliff.
Something we paid 200g for that everyone will be running around with soon…
I just don’t understand what Anet is trying to do there.
Beyond the serious logic problem of having a Mega server for PvE and many smaller servers (some almost empty) for WvW and the confusion that it will cause, there is the problem of content.
When the 15th of April patch comes out with nothing for WvW and tons of improvements for PvE Anet can’t seriously think the number of WvW players will go up… Season 2 will end right there abruptly as people will start farming skins and new traits in PvE.
As for me on April 15th it’s going to take hours of my time asking for a refund for all the duplicated stuff I have bought. First I’ll have to ask them for a list of everything I’ve bought so I can figure it out… What a waste of time because they didn’t figure a way to compensate people properly.
Its good for normal PvE rewards. Otherwise there is no new guild missions, game modes or WvW improvements.
I can’t believe that you aren’t doing something for WvW. This is really the only endgame content for many of us and right now the matchups are totally imbalanced, the gameplay rewards stacking zergs, bigger numbers and the PPT system is not working well at all specially considering EOTM doesn’t count at all for PPT.
When you introduced traps you promised new ones which we have never got.
I think you have had tons of feedback for WvW telling you precisely what could be improved. Asking for more feedback is almost an insult after the last EOTM feedback discussion thread. You should know what the solution is: new maps, choke points, capture points in SM on all levels of SM, removal of doyak escort, removal of immobilize stacking, alliance system, commander tag as guild tags on map, etc (all in EOTM feedback thread). It seems like you just don’t want to put the effort and do it, and that is excluding GvG and Guild Halls.
So when is the stream? is it over?
You didn’t miss anything, it was a complete waste of time and had almost nothing to do with WvW.
The only “new” information is that they’re working on “stuff”. Cool.
So… nothing until the end of season 2, then we may get an announcement of a new map (and server merge), and then we wait 6 months like for EOTM…?
It’s pretty clear they’re going to get rid of servers a la EoTM. They just won’t admit it at the moment in order to keep people from jumping ship right now to the new MMOs coming out.
With megaservers rendering servers obsolete in PvE, servers in WvW is going to be unsustainable — people won’t even know what WvW server they’re on.
The failed EoTM is the future of WvW.
A guild should decide to be part of one of 3 alliances of guilds for WvW, they should keep the current match-up going but players should be able to guest on other WvW matchups representing the same side. Well anyway, this is what ESO has done and it works miracle.
No offense, but before you start praising ESO’s system you probably should wait couple months, the system there is not even tested so no idea how “it works miracle”. From I read it seems it already began to have population imbalance issues just a week after head-start (now that might change too, but we really don’t know how it’s going to pan out until enough time is given).
I’ve also heard that omniblobs are running rampant over there.
The ESO PvP map is more than 25 times the size of EB in GW2. Zergs are really not an issue and there are very well design choke points.
You can see the population of each alliances on every campaign and players can guest on the campaign they wish for balanced play.
So when is the stream? is it over?
