Still, grinding 400~500 by crafting exotics is an error people are making by their own ignorance, there’s quite a bit you can get via refinement which is artificially free, in terms of gold, if you mine a bit and don’t rush it.
Ok…you have to craft exotics/ refine T6 to get from 400 to 450= 50g +/- then you can very long time refine ascended mats to 470 = gold free but way tooooo long.
And from 470 to 500 you have to craft exotics again = at least another 50g (becouse it gives lower exp then in beginig :-) )
It is still to much gold farming. Or materials grinding.
Basically you dont want anything to change. You complain about doing it slowly and for much cheaper by refinement and you complain about doing it fast costing too much. EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD CAN BE UNDERSTOOD IN TERMS OF TIME VS MONEY. If you are really worried about time commitments then dont play video games, go do something productive.

Took some doing but I finally succeeded. This is the kind of content they need to add.
This event is awesome, they split the harder content from the easier one in terms of AP. Now the people who want casual can just do jubilee and if you want to challenge yourself you do the Gauntlet.
The final boss took me around 15 tries and while I raged initially, I took my licks, learned the fight and won. I am on a necro so you dont need block/dodge spam to do it.
Some of the challenge missions are brutal actually, way worse than Liandri.
The best looking staff was the Dragon’s Jade one IMO.

I think people really just want a new map in WvW, I cant blame them as that would be a huge change. They will all cry thakittens worse than the old map even if it isnt.
WvW got some QoL improvements and some things that it desperately needed but it does need some new mechanics or an entirely new map in rotation. To say it got nothing is unfair but it certainly isnt the focus of dev time.
Also, SPvP and WvW “hardcore” players have the worst attitudes of all time, this probably makes developing content for them a total chore because they gripe no matter what the change is.
Everytime they add changes to WvW the “hardcore” get super kitten and cry that the sky is falling, so do the sPvPers. It is far easier to make content for the casual PvE crowd because they dont throw a fit when something is changed.
They will change something major in WvW one of these days and the amount of QQ will crash the forums.
Why is everyone so mad that getting gold is hard? You get the achievement for just finishing, which is super easy, even after the fix.
Getting gold means you put the effort in to get gold…

Ya, to be honest I am not very good at fighting in SSS but I have won 3 or 4 survivals now by stacking rations at the start and running to my secret spot. I just chow down on 6 or so rations and no one can find me. If you took away mist walkers thats how EVERY game would end.
We beat it last night in a guild group that had no special plans in forming. We did what some of the people here say to do when doing it solo. You hide off to the right behind the rocks at the start and just come out and kill the plunderers as they spawn.
The only kittene is the far plunderer but if you let him get the cash and then all run as a blob and jump him as he comes back you can do it. Just retreat back behind that rock after you zerg out.
Took a couple tries but it wasnt nearly as bad as it first seemed.
Can I ask, whats the Kaineg thing?

After watching that video it looks like you lag just moving around in the game world. Honestly it looks like you are on WiFi with a mediocre connection to start and on a less than stellar computer.

Pro Tip: If you hit an Aspect Mastery off of the first pick up and no one else does, you have to try and lose. All you need to do is 2 skill into the 1 skill so you do the insane OP nonsense super jump. Three of those in a row and you are so far ahead that it doesnt matter, start crapping out those fakes and just run to an easy win.
Also just ask and people will let you win if they already have title, I know I have since winning gets me nothing extra, why not be a good guy?
I wish the JP didn’t give out BoH. Make all the PVE players earn the Gift of Battle through….ya know..battle.
Here’s the problem with getting badges through battle. Zerging takes no skill and is mind numbingly boring. If you want to be skilful, you need to solo roam and kill people.
It takes me 5-10 minutes of roaming to find someone to kill. Then when I kill them I get a badge only around once every 3-4 kills. So my badge acquisition rate is around 2-4 badges per hour. I would need at least 100 hours to get all my badges and getting nothing else in the process.
That’s pretty pathetic. And once again – I’ve tried zerging in organized groups via teamspeak. It’s just lame. “Stack on me. 3…2…1…go”. Now taking this tower. Now that. Just throw around AoEs and hope you hit something.

Thats the thing though, Mario Kart is total nonsense. Its gone WAY WAY to far in the direction of letting everyone have a chance. It is actually better to stay in 5th place in Mario Kart until the last lap as it gives access to the best items so you can just stack a couple good ones then crush people for the win.
The DS online mariokart basically proved this, if you watch any race people are actually TRYING to be in 5th instead of leading because its way easier to win from there instead of first.
Also I think you shouldnt be able to win if you miss jumps but should be able to beat someone who just got lucky on the first two sets of power ups.
As ESKan said I too feel like it’s too easy to stay first place once you get there. They dont have to deal with fake power ups and get to place plenty themselves, if possible at the cork screw jumps where the #2 is guaranteed to get hit by em.

You win this minigame if you get the Aspect Mastery off of the first powerup location. Just do 2 > 1 three times and you cant be beat. Once you are ahead you just lay fakes and use Grounded and you dont have to deal with anything other than the occasional lightning strike. It is FAR FAR to easy to stay in 1st.
Also yesterday the lag was really bad the first few times I tried this. I came back around 9pm EST after they updated and it seemed to be much better.
They needed to add this. Is it annoying? Yes. Does it feel too quick? Yes.
Was there a HUGE group of people (including myself) that akitten through some of the previous minigames? YES.
Also, this sprint is a hell of a lot better than Dragon Ball or Crab Toss.

I have to say, I’m very disappointed that the achievement armors are the same for all types.. I don’t think I can make a very good set with light armors with it. /sigh
I actually like that they are the same, it will give light and medium armor users some much needed variation. Also I imagine these are only the beginning and a lot more will be added to achievement reward choices over time.
Amazing how as soon as some rewards are announced, the “Elite” achievers want everyone else to suffer. If you had asked them before the announcement they would tell you they do it just for the big number because they like achievements, yada, yada.
Grow up guys this doesn’t hurt you 1337 players and it helps everyone.

Necros were BAD, like REALLY REALLY BAD and even if they are OP now, deal with it.
Longtime Necro players learned how to deal with all the nonsense every other class had in addition to some truly horrible bugs.
I completely agree, achievements like this that highlight parts of the game world that most people have not been to are really good. Lots of people dont even know these mini-dungeons exist since I dont think a single one has been added since Halloween update.

Yesterday, kitten my friends, in Tspvp, we’ve find a team of rank 15-25 players. 4 Necro and 1 Ranger. We’ve a team well organized. 2 Guardian, Mesmer, Engi, Thief. I’m rank 25, but my friend’s rank 40-45, not the first noob on the square.
Then, we’ve lost 500 to 140. How can you fight an enemy that need only to give you all the condition in one skill and flee waiting your death? We’ve removal, yes, but try to fight 2 necro that swap conditions to the entire group and give conditions all the way. And now they can give Torment and Burn.
i’m a Guardna Berserker, I can kill by myself mesmers, warriors, thief, guardian, ele and some engi spec. before the update i’ve been able to kill some necros but now I’m useless against a Necro. Too much conditions. Too low healt.
You can say “you’re berserker, you’ve not healt”. Yeah, and because of that I’ve try to use another spec: removal spec. I’ve equipped 2 shout, puruty and set the virtue that cure 3 conditions. Well, It’s useless. They win. You can’t fight a necro using a guardian. You can’t fight a Condition spec by using a Guardian.The necro use it’s signet to give me all the conditions. I use Purity, they use the skill to transform all boon in condition. I use all my skills to cancel the Conditions. I’m whitout utility and virtue, and the enemy can give me more and more conditions by weapon skills and the 3° not used utility or the elite. Or use fear and kill me whit damage of 2k every hit.
now.. how can I defeat a Necro??
Yet it never seems to strike people as a problem when EVERY competitive team runs a Guard and a Mesmer, seriously if that doesn’t say the meta needed shaking up then nothing will.
Play a bunker guardian and look at your post-death damage taken. What percent of the damage came from conditions and what percent of the damage came from attacks?
You see the problem? Without condition damage, builds with high toughness and good protection uptime would NEVER die.
Ultimately condition damage is a band-aid for a gaping design flaw.
I have to jump in here. You point out EXACTLY the need for a different type of damage by bringing up what happens to regular damage vs toughness and prot. but then somehow say its bad design to have a mechanic to get around this on some classes?
Please name a competitive game where there is only one damage type that isnt a FPS. (Even there they have AOE vs. Direct and Projectile vs. Hitscan)
For all the complaining about this achievement, much of it justifiable, making this JP part of the update really did bring out a lot of community on servers. Lots of rallies in LA for people to get together to take on the other servers in there and get their people to the JP with ports. Some good times where you are running along with other servers praying no one is “that guy” and starts some kitten when you all just want the JP.
So for all the negatives I think that there is a pretty good reason ANet chose to do this.
There’s also a bug that allows for the fourth Aetherblade spawned (the veteran that disables the holo node and disappears) to be interrupted. If that happens, then the holo gets permanently glitched – it is active, but spawns no aethers nor can be activaded for standard holo enemies.
I think this is the real culprit to why its so hard to find them sometimes.
“The grass is greener” argument about games from unknown companies that have not been released yet. Let me know how that turns out.
The necro QQ is amazing to watch. Ostrich, try not being so biased about Engies, you sound like someone stole your first born.
I hope they never introduce a 1-shot attack that can’t be evaded.
It’s ALWAYS better to spec for offense and mitigate damage by being attentive and reacting fast in combat, rather than spec’ing defensive bunker and face tank stuff while dishing out no damage. The latter is a lot more slow and boring and skill-less, which makes a less interesting game whereas the former is dynamic and punishes you for your own mistakes while rewarding you for playing well.
That is not to say we need more DPS check encounters like Arah P4 Simin, but we definitely should not be biased against zerker builds when designing difficult content as they are actually the most difficult to play. (4W1M CoFP1 is not endgame content)
As with almost everything in life the sweet spot is somewhere in the middle.
Going full DPS is not always harder, many of the bosses in this game prove that. If you go full DPS you can kill them before they even use their skills, in NO way is that harder than trying to actually tank them out.
No one likes the AR because its much harder to Zerker through it and thtas one of the downsides of making DPS the most important factor in dungeons.

The dungeon wasnt bad at all, couple wipes the first time through with a PUG is pretty much expected.
However, being an elitist kitten who probably lives in his parents basement sucking down fatty food while being fat is not cool (see what I did there?).
Apparently Anet thinks its “fun” and “interesting” to get CC spammed non-stop. Stability isn’t even a good solution to it either because it only lasts a few seconds with a 30 second recharge. Dodging is hardly a solution when you have 3 golems perma-chasing and CC spamming you across the room. Needless to say, I quit after 3 attempts. Not just because it almost made me fall asleep, but also because it’s just plain annoying how everything can rip through over 3.5k armor in seconds.
So you were “bored” but at the same time its too challenging?
It was needless to say that you quit though, we could have inferred your quitter attitude from the rest of your QQ post.
@Shiren I hope you never play DOTA2 or any other MOBA if you think teammates can ruin things in this game. A single person in those games can easily waste 40+ minutes if they are bad.

ANet wants to push player “skill” over character stats i guess, and their way of doing so is to turn every big battle into a concentration test via continual dodge-or-die spam. In essence, the game is a third person action game masking as a RPG. And one with a lousy control scheme for such a genre.
So not only do you admit that you would rather win by just outgearing content instead of having some skill BUT you also think this is an action game…. I dont say this often but maybe you should go back to another MMO. That way you can just out level and outgear all the fights instead of having to “skill” through them. Never thought I would see someone actually put this shoddy of an argument into words on a forum.
One Shot techniques like… Mai Trin’s shadowstep onto a Zerker Geared Ele sucks bawls… Full health to no health in one shot with no Death Penalty… No way to avoid it, cause it’s not predictable

They need to change all the dungeons so that you have to run some survivability to get through, DPS Wars 2 gets old fast.

You could always just keep moving and jump the small wall, since thats what you are supposed to do, one jump to level one crate and then another jump over the beam. Ran the dungeon a couple times yesterday with total randoms and we got it after a single wipe both times.

Has no one here played DOTA2, HoN or any similar game? NONE of those systems stop people from akitteng or rage quitting. Its just something that is going to happen no matter what the devs do to stop it, you cant change human nature.
That being said, they should absolutely add a surrender button and make quitters wait 2x as long in the Queue like DOTA2 does. This will only lessen the rage quits however since NOTHING will change human nature.
To be honest I am not sure how much money Valve actually makes from the shop in DOTA2. I play a frankly unhealthy amount of DOTA2 and I have yet to make a purchase and neither have my neckbeard friends. There is really no reason to.
You really cannot compete with Valve, they own Steam so they dont need to charge a cent for their games.
I agree you should be able to pay for custom arenas through only pvp play BUT you have to realize the devs need to eat and a lot of that comes from in game purchases which sPvP players dont have to make at the moment.
To be fair to ANet, PvP only players contribute 0 dollars in the form of gem purchases right now. Other than the custom arena what do sPvP/tPvP only players need to use the gem store for?
