Run dungeons or do WvW. Pretty much all NPCs in them are veterans.
Since the patch, I’ve noticed a jump in lag. Normally I get a ping of 70-90ms, but since the patch I keep seeing it spike to 280.
I leveled up with condition, precision, and toughness and still use it. You get plenty of conditions and survivability. For critical proc traits, there’s Incendiary Powder for a 33% 2 second burn, sharpshooter for 30% 3 second bleeding, and stick a rune of earth on your weapon for up to 60% 5 second bleed. On your other weapon, stick a rune of accuracy for extra 5% critical chance. Once you get into level 65+ areas, the damage from conditions won’t kill as fast as straight power. Things tend to take a while to die. At 80, I’ve mixed in some condition damage, power, and vitality trinkets to balance things out.

I like that there’s a few hidden whisper bases in the open world. And I chat up every NPC and there’s a lot that are undercover and have an extra dialogue option when you join. They usually point me to a chest of some sort in an area guarded by champ/veteran. I only have one character so I don’t know how the other orders work.
If you don’t want to use waypoints, then don’t. Just use the ones that are in a settlement if you feel like being adventurous.
Every time I fired into the zerg, I saw red damage numbers come up on me and I thought I was dying so I got off the arrow cart to heal myself but I was full hp. There was no AOE or red circles.

I never noticed this before until I was playing this weekend, but there was a zerg hitting one of our towers and I used an arrow cart to fire at the enemies setting up rams on our gate. Every time I fired, I was taking massive damage not on my own character but on the arrow cart. It eventually died from self damage. Is this new?
I noticed a change in the sound of the explosion a few months ago. I get a very bassy distortion when the explosion hits several targets at once.
Use the wiki
It’s an hour later. So for me in Pacific time, it used to be 4pm. Now 5pm.
I did all of them in infantile mode except for the achievement for completing the level which requires normal mode.
I run a condition P/P build along with the EG. I have traited for extra range so I open up with a few shots as I close the distance for pistols in WvW. Acid bomb is a nice escape skill and I combo it with elixir f to slow enemies close to me. Pistols are great for multiple targets if you have coated bullets, but if you are fighting a single strong target like a champion, then EG autoattack is very useful for weakness and the bleeds are longer than pistol. Super elixir is well super. Fumigate is very lacking in damage but I tend to use it on strong single targets to add 5 stacks of weakness for others in the group to do more damage or to spray it around myself when a thief stealths.
The instances are no more difficult than open world enemies. Yes, they spawn several enemies at once, but if you can’t fight several non veteran enemies without dying or at least killing one when downed then you need to learn to play your class better. Your NPC ally is pretty sturdy and you can just let them tank a few while you focus on one. Plus you say you’re a ranger, so you have a pet to help on top of that. I don’t know how much easier it can get.
If you want to talk about challenging, then I would point to the Wintersday toy enemies.
The gem/gold rate floats because it’s based on players’ supply and demand. It is not directly controlled by Anet because it is a secondary market. The primary market is gem/real money and the rate is already fixed by them.
I haven’t used the gem store at all and I have no problem with the bank slots given. They have already given you slots for crafting mats so most of what I would horde is already taken care of. If you do need room, then start a guild by yourself and get a guild bank.

I thought we call that the mesmer.
The audio logs from destroying sonic periscopes are not what the translator is used for. Those audio logs are only used to trade in for karma. The translator just needs to be in your inventory for interacting with the mysterious devices that are spread out on the ground in diessa and wayfarer. The sylvari NPC in black citadel that gives you the translator will have given you a letter with their locations.
1. Character refusing to jump when pressing the jump key. This is not a latency issue if you can jump when you press the jump key one step before the affected spot.
I think the issue might be because you are using both hands on the keyboard. There is a limit to how many commands a keyboard will register simultaneously.
There’s nothing stopping you from going into WvW. Yes, you aren’t fully developed with your skills, but just joining a zerg capturing stuff and you will level up like crazy.
I think the jumping is just fine in this game. There’s enough stickiness that I can sometimes land next to the edge of something and still stay on the platform. I like that you can change directions midair to fine tune your landing spot.
Talk to the living story NPCs that are all over the zone. They have the yellow star on a scroll icon. They all say the same things, so you only need to talk to one.
I don’t agree with this. Everyone should be responsible and capable to look after their own healing and buffing in this game. While there is no trinity in this game, you can be support oriented. That doesn’t mean you can just neglect doing any damage whatsoever. Whatever healing/support skills you have, you will always be waiting on them to cooldown and that is when you should be throwing out some damage.
They added guesting so you can try out the server before you go. The only thing you can’t do is WvW.
The server resets at 0:00 GMT which in North America is 5pm pacific and 8pm eastern. I have a little sympathy for people that miss the dailies, but nothing for the monthlies.
Maybe it’s just the time of day or week but I looked up AC exp in gw2lfg over the weekend and saw at least 10 posts.
There is a gem fee to transfer to another world based on its population.
Medium: 500 gems
High: 1000 gems
Very High: 1800 gems
Most servers are usually very high. You can use real money to buy the gems or farm some gold to do it. At current prices, you need around 42 gold for 1800 gems.
I traited my healing turret to give 3 stacks of might for 15 seconds along with the pushback. I never use the condition cleanse overcharge because it takes forever to work. I just drop it and detonate every time. The water field detonate is great for healing in group battles and knockback for fighting against melee that come too close. The damage on detonate is pretty decent with at least 1200 damage on level 80s.
There’s an option to stop autoattacking on target change. Select that and if you change targets or stop targeting the enemy by clicking empty, it will stop.
My guild is just me and another friend so that we can use the guild bank. I went to gw2lfg and found some small guilds looking for people to help them on the guild bounty. I just msged the guy and joined his guild temporarily to represent, killed the bounties, and then left the guild. It’s win/win.
All events are actually called dynamic events. It’s just easier to call it event or DE.
It works fine for me. I don’t usually set off the water field when I use regen mist, but in groups I see other players setting it off for me.
I noticed several classes have a skill to allow several players to gain swiftness. RNG on throwing elixir B is terrible and I think elixir F on the elixir gun would be great for this. It is already able to bounce off of enemies to allies and give swiftness so all I would like to see changed is allow us to target allies for the initial shot.
The only kit I’ve ever run with is elixir gun. This is a really terrible change. The extra super elixir was great for condition removal in groups for dungeons and WvW. If someone got too close, I would just elixir F to slow and acid bomb away. I’ve always considered the EG as a support-type kit and this makes it look like it’s meant for running away now.
While I can’t blame them for fixing this bug, there really needs to be a way to defend a gate effectively. Cannons and oil are just fodder that slows down zergs for an extra few seconds before they place rams. With the way zergs play out in WvW, it’s always easier and faster to go after a gate than sieging the wall.
Most players just carry rams because they are the cheapest way to takeover a tower. I always put catapults on gates and have been able to shut down 20 player zergs with 4 guys in a fully supplied keep. They just usually give up once the rams are gone and don’t bother to try setting up catapults out of arrow cart range. This “fix” just encourages PvDoor as the best method of siege.
It doesn’t matter which piece of gear it is on. Every piece just gives different amounts. Eventually at 60+, gear will give 3 attributes. There will be one primary and two secondary. Primary just means that it gives the most of the 3 attributes and the secondary will have less than the primary.

I would like stealth to work when I drop acid bomb in a smoke field. Acid bomb is a great blast finisher to help escape but I always just end up with the revealed debuff after the jump back. I have not tested the smoke field with rocket boots yet.
What OS were you using before you reformatted and didn’t you choose to hinder your computer just by installing vista 32-bit.
I don’t think you can upgrade from 32 to 64 bit without reformatting.
There is nothing to discuss. You’re comparing non-MMO games to MMOs and then saying that the two aren’t the same.
Cars aren’t the same as planes because one can fly. I can drive my car off a cliff to feel airborne but it will never be the same as flying in a plane.
I’m saving it for the legendary and then I’ll start using it for siege weapons to save money.
With the living story adding new events in the current wayfarer and diessa zones, the map starts feeling a little cramped. I noticed that each area ikittenone was designed specifically for a particular heart/event and there is just enough space to separate existing hearts/events. I was wondering if it is possible to expand the borders of existing maps. The mountain borders of each zone make it a little difficult to do this but maybe they could stretch out the map to add new open space dedicated for future content. This would allow the devs to maintain all the existing heart/event areas so that map completion is not messed up.
You’re saying that your only income from farming hours at a time in cursed shore is from rares? If you are killing things, then there will be junk/white/blue/green items that drop too. Are you simply not picking up or destroying all non rare items in your inventory?
You know you don’t actually have to teleport back to LA in order to put stuff on the TP right? You just have to go there to pick up your money.
I was pretty mad about it too when I lost the bet. 50s to 1g is a lot of money when starting out, but it was a pretty funny event.
I totally disagree with you. You didn’t look up how to even get any of your desired gear. I’m running pure rabid from head to toe and did not have any trouble getting them. I bought the armor from karma vendors from 3 different temple vendors and the rest from TP. If you want to run with two sets of armor, that’s up to you. There isn’t really much to use karma on right now that you can easily buy two of everything for different runes.
I do hear a slight difference between the highest and lowest sound quality setting. The lowest still sounds fine if you didn’t know it was at low. But it sounds a bit clearer when set to highest.
The mixing buffer size difference you can tell very easily. It adds a delay between what you see on screen and the sound effect you hear. With the buffer set to the highest, there is maybe 100-200ms delay on sounds. I find it annoying so I just keep it at the lowest buffer size.
Each crafting level you gain earns you 2.5% of the XP bar no matter what level you are. If you fully level a craft then it will be 0.025*400=10 full levels.
The gem/real money price has always been the same no matter how many gems you buy.
You just fail at math OP.
How did you get to that menu? I’ve only ever seen the one that you get when you press B .
I believe the mercenaries are the minor races that you can get to help on supply camps. IE: hyleks, dredge, ogres, quaggans
Why no skritt?
I kind of had that experience with trying to run all the way to the cursed shore from LA for the first time in order to find temple gear vendors. Monsters were everywhere and most of the waypoints were contested. Must have spent a good hour or two dying and running across the zone repeatedly.
You complain about having to do dailies to get ascended gear. I should complain about having to run fractals/dungeons to get ascended gear before laurels. I don’t because I know that if I want something of value, I should work for it. Whether you see this as a grind or not is up to each player.
