recognize my command!”
Test: IIRC the was a recent discussion where this was clarified. There is no need to grind for anything in game. Exotics are easy to come by just by playing the game. Ascended isnt needed except for fractals. (Not getting into the stat increase, because it’s not relevant.) In other mmos grinding is required in order to do anything in the game at all. This game no so much. In the manifesto this is what they were referring to. Its not required. Period.
Defending in EotM.
Free loot bags, extra supply depot, (Which can be very beneficial), testing vs. Zerg tactics, and it provides a sort of relief from normal WvW.
Is there a question in here?
You may not like it, but there are plenty of people who do. You also said that it is a grinding and farming map, and the only ones who are there are farmers and grinders. If that’s the case, then the map serves its purpose rather well.
If you don’t like it, you are not compelled to go there. Its pretty simple really.
Plus if Anet actively discourages farming then why make a map specifically for that?
I get your rant, but at the same time I find it unfounded and extremely subjective.
As said. Skins, weapons skills, different weapons for pvp. Ive bought several when playing around with newer characters in pvp. Also buy a few from time to time of I’m leveling instead of buying expensive stuff on the TP. sometimes a higher level white is stronger than a low lever blue.
Ashen: That. Is. Epic!!!
A Tyrian wedding!? You have to show pictures now. Its not negotiable.
Maybe its just me, but im seeing this topic coming up several times.

So exciting!!!!
You can also email them at exploits@arena.net
That email is for reporting an exploit, not an exploiter.
Well wouldn’t an exploiter be using an exploit in order to be an exploiter?
true, but that is for things like bugs, and broken maps that allow players to do things they normally couldn’t do. Using a hacking program to fly for example isn’t exactly an exploit.
Just use the botting option and it will summon a GM to the scene. (although you probably won’t see them.)
welp that sucks i did manage to get some screenshots but he teleported away so i lost target of him
If you know his character/account name, you can add him to your friends list/block list and then right-click to report him there.
If you want to have your report to have more weight behind it though, make a support ticket and explain what happened, time, area and character/account names involved. Attach screenshots too. You can access support at the top of the page.
I can’t speak to tools. I can tell you that using the ‘botter’ option is indeed sufficient.
As for the exploits are ANet address, this isn’t a Customer Support address. Exploits is more of a ‘I found a way to cheat here’s how to do it’ thing and Quality Assurance reviews those.
GMs don’t belong to a server so wondering if you’re server has a GM is futile. We’re everywhere >=).
To further clarify – exploits@arena.net is not used for reviewing reports of cheaters. This is for notifying us of found exploits so that QA can work on reporting fixes.
Well this is a bit awkward as we have always been told by the mods and whatnot to report hackers that way as there was no hacking report option in the in game tool. I guess this explains why none of the reported people got banned then if it’s not their job to do that in the first place. Thank you for clarifying this! I have one question tho, if one happens to have video footage of someone doing some sort of naughty business, should we send it in via normal ticket or just rely on the “botting” report to do the thing instead?
In-game for botting is always the right way to go. This is (generic, I understand) a report that a GM sees and responds to by going into the game. I am looking at new ways to let players report but I’m going to need a few days to poke holes in my methods.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Ingame-GMs-do-they-exist/4573182/quote
Using the botting report is always the best way. Michael discusses it at more length in the linked thread.
Yep. Thats the only way to do it currently

What Lazaar said.
There was also some discussion about including a “report hacker” option, but nothing was offically said that it was going to happen.

Mats are easier than ever to get. When I made my first legendary the idea of farming all the T6 mats you needed was patently absurd. There was absolutely no way you could do it in a reasonable time without using the TP…
Fast forward almost 3 years later and T6 are quite abundant and easy to get. I’m 2 months in on my farming and I have 1028 of the 2000 T6 I need for my legendary. Ectos and karma drop in droves now. I can get 40-50 ectos in a single play session if i’m lucky, and I have 4 stacks of obby shard just cluttering up my bank.
Everything is super easy to get these days, gold isn’t needed nearly as much as it was near launch.
But…But…But Inflation!!!
Yeah I totally agree. But people tend to focus solely on certain things within the TP, and see prices rising as more demand for those items increases. It’s not inflation, its the TP and economy doing what it was designed to do.
Could we PLEASE get them soon? My OCD tells me I need to have a full set of Ascended gear for my elementalist, and the only thing missing is my breather…
Please don’t mock me. OCD is a serious condition.
What you’re describing isn’t a symptom of OCD. You might very well have OCD, but you feeling the need to get an ascended breather isn’t part of it. It’s a common misconception though. A lot of people think that OCD is the urge to complete something, finish something, make something whole, etc. etc. etc. but that’s not what OCD is. I know because I have real OCD.
The desire for completion, wholeness, etc. is a PART of OCD. My wife has OCD and things like one things being out of place (in this case a different “colored” armor piece) will driver her up the wall. And will eventually have a anxiety attack. Is it OCD? Absolutely. Does everyone who suffers from OCD have the exact same problems? Not at all. Theres no need to disregard his condition, or call it fake or not “real” OCD.
In any event, yes an ascended aqua breather would be awesome. Although there isn’t much in the way of underwater combat any more, it still would be cool to have. At the very least just to be able to have a different skin.
AAAAH Yes. The trash talking of those who “think” they are all that and a bag of chips. I just ignore them. I 1v1d a thief with my ranger awhile back, evaded his Backstab, twice, (more by luck than anything) and downed him. As I was stomping him he started calling me a noob and l2p. :P It was rather amsuing.
And more recently we had a pug for unranked. Mesmer IIRC. Started whining about how our guardian was supposed to back him up because he was glass. Our guard was super glass medi, and would have dropped faster then the mesmer. We had a good laugh over that.
But I agree. “Real” pros don’t talk trash, are respectful, and concentrate on the game. Those who are wannabe pro tend to talk the most, and whine about everything.
Don’t forget that we have zero idea if the expansion will contain updates/patches for the other classes to provide said balance. I’m not talking about new mechanics or anything, but making some skills stronger, or weaker, depending on the situation. Anet does want balance, and tries to do just that. But it’s more than a simple “add X% more damage for this skill, and reduce CD of this skill by X%” You change on skill on a profession, and it will effect that profession, and other skills used with it, as well as other professions that play against it.
Sorry, referring to the gems for gold comment. You say you buy gems off people selling gems for gold, but herein lies an issue, the amount of gold you pay to buy gems is always more than when you sell gems for gold. Surely gem price should a set standard price. If for example you have to pay 8g for 100 gems then surely you should get 8g for selling 100 gems! The gem trade should not be a gold sink, it should be the standard for the economy. If gold in real life was worth say £50 an ounce, it is worth that amount wether you are buying OR selling.
Like it’s been state, it’s not a direct trade.
Let me put it this way.
There is a pile of gems, and a pile of gold. These at the very beginning were “balanced” (for the sake of our argument. As there was a designed into the system a specific ratio.)
and sitting on a scale. Each time someone put gold into the gold pile they got to take out a certain amount of gems. But in order to maintain balance, as more gold was put into the pile, you got less gems. And if you put gems into the pile you get to take out a certain amount of gold (based on the ratio of course), which of course changes depending on the number of gems and the amount of gold in their respective piles.
People are claiming a 15% tax each way. I don’t think there is a tax. But there certainly is a ratio of gems:gold and in order to maintain “balance” this ratios always stays the same. Plus such a set ratio would prevent someone from making thousands and thousands of gold just by flipping gems. So one wouldn’t be able to get some gold, convert it to gems, then back again for an increased amount of gold, ad infinitum.
My full-rabid condimancer isn’t even a tiny bit concerned. The effect is in the game now and we have a pretty good idea how highly ArenaNet rates having it. It’s not going to be as common or have uptime like regen. Its going to (continue to) be a high-order oh-crap button.
After HoT hits I’ll be able to strip it. That’s my circumstances getting better, not worse.
Pretty much. It will have some effect certainly, but not enough to make it completly break condi builds. People are over reacting as usual.
Ok so there will be another meeting for those who were unable to attend the first one on saturday (2/21) at 4pm PST at the same google hangout. Hope to see you there!!
It is designed to be this way. More expensive things mean more ppl buying gems in order to convert them into gold. There is only one real gold sink in this game and it is known as the Mystic Toilet. This thing was very cleverly designed to swallow large quantities of gold and usually get nothing in return… just like real world slot machines. It is clever because it is so demotivating to use it that it persuade even more ppl to buy gems and convert them into gold. Gold is then accumulated on (proportionally to overal population) small number of accounts and since there are no real gold sinks other than mystic toilet or gem shop, it ends up inactive (out of system) on player accounts untill it is ultimately destroyed in mystic toilet or in gem shop (gold exchanged for gems used for puchasing gem shop things is forever lost…).
I don’t think you understand what you’re talking about…
There’s very few ways of throwing gold directly in the forge, and most of them rely on other game mechanics (buying exotics for forging isn’t a gold sink since most of the gold goes to other players and not removed from game. If anything it is an item sink)
…
Gem exchange does not work anything like that at all… When you buy gems (with gold) you’re buying those gems from someone who is selling gems for gold. Certainly there is a large ‘tax’ on the gold —> gems side but most of the gold stays in economy.
Just the bolded part. But iirc there is not a “tax” on the gem exchange. The rates were set initially at the beginning in such a way that it was impossible to make money by “flipping gems” I’ll try to find the quote but im very certain that John Smith said something to that effect.
Wait, wut?
First, gem conversion is not the only way gold is put into the economy. Events, dungeons, bags, vendors, and cash drops are the ways gold is introduced into the economy. With gem conversion, it’s gold that was once in the economy being put back in. (from people who bought gems with gold).
Also it’s not required that people by gems to convert to gold. In fact the exchange rate on doing that isn’t the best right now. However people still do it if they want to get a bunch of gold fast without having to do anything in game, or convert leftover gems after making gem store purchases.
Also the theory that Anet is controlling the market has been debunked on several occasions. The prices are set solely by the players and their willingness to buy and willingness to sell. Nothing more.
Check out this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/I-have-a-question-about-the-economy/page/19#post4809082
John Smith (Anets economist), and others go into great depth about how the economy works in relation to sinks, and gold generation, drop rates, etc. It’s very educational. You might learn a few things, which never hurt nobody.
I’m sure others like Wanze will rip your statement wide open
I stopped reading when he wrote that Anet is retracting items from the economy.
Yes, that confused me as well. I’m not sure what proof the OP has of such things, as I have observed the opposite to be true (i.e. Silverwastes and Dry Top chests, PvP reward tracks, ascended material recyclers, &c.).
And not to mention a wider range of exotics and an increased chance for precursors from the forge. It’s now easier than ever to get items, even rare ones.
The small increase to pres happen a long time ago way b4 the change to the range of outputs. I don’t believe the range change was ever agreed upon as a good thing as it was also accompanied by the level degradation change.
Edit: some other farms that have been nerfed include the Union point farm, linen farm, skelk farm, Blix farm, cof farm, and I’m sure quite a few others.
There is another linen farm? I generally used the dredge miners in Lonars pass I believe, or karma conversion.

True, but my point was that overall there was an increase in drops (at least from the MF), which the OP stated was decreased. I don’t like the level degradation myself, but thats another topic.
I generally play staff + scepter/dagger condi with wells with my necro. I found that staff 5 while at range is a great interrupt with the fear as you close in. Then hit them with dagger 4 for a blind, and well of darkness. This isn’t perfect but it helps as you can close in and prevent them from doing a bunch of damage while at range.

I believe he meant their nerfs to farming.
There are nerfs to farming? As far as I can tell, drop rates for mats are still the same, and for gear as well. As well as easier ways to get them.
They constantly nerf farming, while promoting things they can heavily regulate.
Examples?
The queensdale champ train was nerfed yes, shelters gate and penitant path farm was also nerfed, but those were the major ones. I am not aware of any other farm nerfs. But even with those nerfs, 2 more farms were introduced, which produce more champ bags than either of those combined. (Dry Top and Silverwastes) But the frostgorge champ train was actually made easier with the change to make the champs spawn with more players as well as making them events. (And it’s still going strong.)
Also open world mat farming has remained the same. Drop rates are still pretty good, if you know where to farm. Some mobs have a higher chance at dropping T6 than others.

There’s only one kind of person that could be against Resistance:
- Skill-less condition spammers.
Agreed. Although I am a condition spammer, I wouldn’t say I am exactly skill-less…
Kiting is an art form.
Also I think with the balances they will do will make it so in the end Resistance will be Futile.
$10 says Necro or some other class gets this as a new Specialization ability. XD
We still don’t know for 100% certainty that resistance will be limited to the Revenant. It could possibly be available to everyone. However building a class speciality around a single boon would not be cool at all.
My fault for being short and unpithy. =P
I meant I was expecting a trait/ability called Resistance Is Futile. Because kitten .
I certainly have no complaints about the boon. I suspect it will either add to or replace some of the current skills. I’m actually curious if it will prevent/break the stupid shove/KD CCs that normally only get blocked by Stability.
Aaah gotcha…
Yeah someone will have failed massively while doing their job at Anet if “Resistance is Futile” isn’t made into a trait, skill, quote when using Taunt, or any type of player action.
I would certainly squeal like a school girl everytime my necro cried out “Resistance is Futile!!” while I boon strip that sucker right off, and over load them with condis.

Frankly it would make my day if you were to actually rage-quit over this and give me all your valuables. But of course you have no intention of doing that, you just came here to whine about something you haven’t even seen in action yet.
You don’t have to believe me, but I regularly solo camps, clear the allies, etc. as a condi necro with rabid gear. Haven’t had a chance to solo a tower yet, but with the amounts of blinds available it certainly is not out of the realm of possibilities.
Lol Any person with half a brain and can dodge can easily cap camps lol…..
I have capped towers solo, soloed fully upgraded camps with my thief so… Yeah try doing that with a condi necro, lets see how far us condimancer get, BTW soloing towers I also mean you as a condimancer ramming the gate (gate or wall at full repair, maybe dealing with a few opposing player 1/2 and having to deal with tower lord’s knock backs… Lol necro with little stability and well blinds Goodluck Xddd……
Either way what does the resistance boon have anything to do with PvE in WvW?
I don’t think that this boon will completely negate condition builds, it will be A counter (just like cleanses), but not so much as to make condis completely ineffective.
I love my condi necro, and will still continue to play him. There may be an adjustment period to resistance, but something can be easily be overcome.

Xd I could quit you know, don’t know about being able to give you my bifrost, incinerator, twilight, sunrise, unfortunately all are account bound… ;p
Don’t get me wrong I don’t absolutely hate this game as I wouldn’t have bothered crafting 4 legendaries if I did hate it completely, all I trying to put across is that us condi necros are going to have an even harder time in wvw and this means no way in hell the necro will be able to solo wvw, I mean its not as if they can do it now anyway… And I won’t believe anyone who says they are effective as a solo necro in wvw ie being able to cap towers solo etc, or being able to clear ogres, hylek, mole people quickly with just conditions…..
I am in the vabbi server so we don’t have big zergs at all tines maximun maximum the most we have had is 30 at once many moons ago…. I have never queued for wvw in my whole gw2 characters life Xd….

Don’t really have time to help out but will be following this closely. Looking good
I’d say it should be story/rp based as it usually makes for more fun games, but it needs the mechanics to support it
Exactly, but we want to try to find a way to balance the two. Something that makes it easier to jump into with little preparation and knowledge, but not so easy that you loose out on a fun game in favor of telling a story.
Don’t forget that even with resistance, condis can still be applied. It just negates their effect for a short time. So while someone is under resistance, they aren’t going to be as concerned with cleansing. So when they pop out of it, those 25 stacks of bleed, 1 min of poison and burning, stacks of fear, confusion, torment, etc. are going to hit hard and fast. If enough condi pressure is applied while resistance is up, they are going to drop like flies once it goes down. And we also don’t know if condis will continue to count down while under the effect of resistance.
I also feel that it will be a replacement for cleanses. So while a revenant will be able to resist condis for a short time, they will have minimal ways to cleanse it, more then likely by having to switch to a different legend, which will either eliminate their ability to apply resistance in favor of cleansing, or severaly hinder it.
The main issue that people have with farming, is time. They aren’t willing to spend the time farming to get what they desire. Couple that with RNG and it’s viewed as “impossible” or “innefficient”. But it can be done if time isn’t an issue and one isn’t concerned at all with how long it takes to farm for what they want.
The main issue that people have with farming is getting nothing for their effort.
I don’t know about ayone else, but I was able to farm for almost everything I wanted in the game. Full ascended armor/trinkets/weapons, legendary weapons, skins, etc. It’s entirely possible to farm for almost everything in the game. Does that mean you’ll get exactly what you are looking for every time? Not at all, but kill enough things and your chances for getting what you want increases with each kill.
Think of it as working in the service industry. Some places, such as restaurants (at least in the US) tipping is a social obligation. People accept and understand that you should tip your server, and generally do. However, some professions in service are often overlooked as far as tips. It doesn’t mean that they don’t want them, or need them. But such a gesture is greatly appreciated.
I think the OPs point is, if someone is doing you a service (porting you to the end of a JP) proper etiquette would demand that a small token of your appreciation be given. It’s not hurting anyone, and it shows that you are grateful. Sure you could not tip, but it does reflect upon you as a person. Just like if you go to a restaurant and don’t leave a tip, what kind of person does that make you appear? Servers will remember you, and next time you come in, you will get the worst possible service. They will also remember if you do tip, and even more so if you tip generously, resulting in the best possible service, and sometimes some extra goodies.
Yeah, except the servers NEED tips to meet minimum wage (at least in a majority of states/regions of the US). A mesmer dropping a portal after they already finished the JP (or after they logged onto a character that’s permanently parked at a chest) and got their reward is hardly the same thing as working a job that doesn’t pay minimum wage and assumes your tips will make up the difference. If a mesmer in GW2 doesn’t get a tip for portaling someone, they can still play the game the exact same way they would if the person had given them 10s or whatever.
It’s not about the NEED, it’s about the gesture. In places where servers depend on tips to make minium wage sure its a neccesity, but that doesn’t force the customer to provide a tip at all, or even a tip of a certain amount. Sure a mesmer can still play the game in the exact same way, but it’s the gesture. Showing your appreciation is always a good thing and should be encouraged whether they NEED it or not.
Of course it’s entirely up to the person taking advantage of the service provided. But if it were me doing this, out of the kindness of my heart, and got a bunch of people who just used it, and many without so much as a thank you or without a token of appreciation, I think I would stop after awhile. But thats just me.
Before this turns into another silk prices, and supply and demand discussion. These this were discussed at length in this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Will-Bolts-of-Damask-ever-drop-in-price/page/5#post4810456
Please refer to the discussion there, or have the threads merged, because they are essentially the same thing. While the linked thread does deal more with damask, it boils down to cloth and methods of aquiring it, prices on the TP, and what should be done about it. Pretty much what this thread is talking about.
Thanks!
I think the OP is right.
Although it shouldn’t be required, but it certainly is appreciated.

In the end, it’s just a nice thing to do. But if you want to be a kitten….well that is your perogative.
It’s an inherent, huge problem for this game. Things like Lodestones or other mats needed simply can’t be farmed per se as people are used too. You could run 20 CoE paths and not get a single Lodestone. You could do 50 paths and not get a Lodestone.
There have always been two ways to get desired, “special” items. 1) Buy everything to make it if your rich, or if you’re really rich, buy the item outright. 2) Build it yourself by farming everything, probably taking a few months.
Effectively, GW2 doesn’t allow the second way. Things like Giant’s Eye or certain Lodestones simply can’t be gone out and farmed for with any reasonable certainty. Getting those is luck based.
True, while the second one is mostly accurate, due to RNG you could run CoE 20 times and potentially get 20 lodestones. Does the second one take longer? Certainly. But saying that it cannot be done, and that GW2 doesn’t allow for farming isn’t accurate either. Sure there is Diminishing Returns. But that system is to discourage people from using bots to farm. But we don’t know what the threshold is before DR begins to kick in when it comes to loot drops. IIRC John Smith recently said that there hasn’t been a case where DR has kicked in for farming yet, but I’ll have to find the quote.
Edit: Quote from John Smith concerning DR from 4 months ago.
I’ve not read this whole thread so forgive me if this is answered elsewhere. I want to ask a few questions.
1. Is the loot system currently set up so people who play less are more likely to get an awesome RNG drop? There have been numerous posts like, “my friend logged on after 5 months and got X, Y, Z drop while I’ve been playing every day and got nothing!” I want to know if the way it works currently is that those who play lots get decreasing loot in proportion to playtime. Why would ANET do this? To keep people chasing the carrot.
John answered that question in a different thread, there arent any account modifiers.
what he is speaking of wouldnt be an account modifier, and it probably does exist, mildy. There is Diminishing returns on drops and it decays pretty slowly. You will in fact see more drops in your first few hours after not having played for awhile.
They will never tell us exactly what is happening, but your friend who plays rarely will basically have no DR for almost all of their playtime.
Still catching up, but I wanted to stop to be clear. No to this. This doesn’t happen, it’s a cognitive bias. There’s virtually no DR active on any given day.

Thank you all for your interest. I would like to request this thread closed. Any further updates on the project will be made through this thread to keep things a bit more organized.
Thank you all again and look forward to working with you all some more!!
So our first meeting was a success!! Thanks to all who were able to make it. For those who weren’t, we did take notes (the video didn’t work out for technical reasons).
But we did want to do a follow up meeting for those who weren’t able to attend to bring everyone on the same page. If you can PM me what days/times work best for you, as well as your email address we can coordinate something.
Hope to hear from you!

Bernie: while I agree with much of what you said, the supply not meeting the demand isn’t exactly correct. As of now, according to gw2spidy, silk is sitting at 722,130 supply and demand at 614,942. Thats a supply of +107,189. The supply is enough to meet the demand. Silk isn’t even priced on the TP to make it unobtainable either. What the chief complaint is that it costs more and takes longer.
In the end people just want it now instead of a few days later. That’s what it all boils down to.
There are a bunch of different types of overlays. Are you just looking to have something pretty over the screen? Or display some type of information?
You might want to check out this. Its an app that allows you to place a picture as an overlay with transparency settings and everything. Basically find a picture you like and open it with this.

Aidan-Savage: That is very helpful. Thanks.
I was going to request this thread be closed, but I now ask that it be kept open as long as it doesn’t degenerate into a fight. Others looking for similar confirmation before undergoing any projects could benefit greatly from this discussion. But please let’s keep it civil. Thanks
To avoid long quotes:
The first specifically deals with art (concept or otherwise), images, renders, screen shots, etc.
The stories invloved in such RPG are classified as “fan-fiction”. Although it uses the setting of Tyria, it’s not actually represented or played out in the game itself.
And yes I am aware of the stipulations. If anything the system itself will fall under the OGL (with all copyrights, trademarks etc. belonging to their respective owners) and the stories, classes and items, will still be property of Anet.
If Anet wants to develop a Guild Wars RPG based off our idea that would be awesome! The project would have achieved its maximum potential at that point. Or if they want to sell it to someone else, it will have achieved the same goal.
I also recieved an email from Gaile concerning this project. She assures me that as long as we are following the outlined terms (and we are) then we should be fine.
Although it says you can use Guild Wars intellectual property for personal use, it does state you can not use it to create games, etc. without prior permission.
You may be taking a chance.
Not just taking a chance; they would be violating the terms of use. Those terms are there for good reasons. Robin Hobb gives a good detailed explanation regarding such policies on the FAQ for her website at http://www.robinhobb.com/faq/
Here’s an excerpt from it:
Or if the game developer purchases the rights and markets the game, the game developer may later take issue with someone else doing for free what he has paid for. The game developer may see it as a copyright infringement on the rights he has purchased. Or the person who has made the amateur RP may look at the game developer and say, “You took a lot of the ideas that I first came up with for my RP and used them in your game that you sold for money. That’s not fair!”
Often, when an author sells a publisher the right to publish a book, the contract will specify that the publisher can sell ‘sub rights’ as in movie rights or merchandise rights or gaming rights. If the publisher does sell those rights, then the author and the publisher share in the income from those rights. The publisher might not be happy to discover that the author had already given someone those rights for free.
This is why all rights permissions have to go through my agent. The agent keeps track of what rights have been purchased and by whom. If a writer gives someone permission to make a comic or an audio book version and at the same time the agent is negotiating a sale of those rights, things can get very messy for everyone, with possible law suits.
In this context she’s talking about her novels, but the same would hold true for other forms of entertainment, like movies and video games.
First the CToU doesn’t say anything about creating a game based on Guild Wars. It does specifically state that you cannot create add-ons or expansions for any Arena Net games, and to use any of their art or images for toys, clothing etc. requires written permission.
However, in this instance we are basically creating a tabletop RPG system (which at it’s core has NO theme, and nothing to do with Guild Wars, or Arena Net.). Also, any stories, classes, items etc. that fall under Guild Wars and Arena Net basically fall under “fan-fiction” which is permissible provided they are not exchanged for monetary gain. This makes the whole project fall into a “fan made theme”. And there are provisions for such things provided proper copyright and trademark information is properly displayed and published.
Also as Gaile pointed out, these things are covered, and our idea falls well within the scope of, the CToU.
We don’t want to make money off of it, we don’t want to step any Anets toes. We just want to create a tabletop RPG that has provisions to fit the world of Tyria and allow people who are fans of such things to be able to have their own adventures. To be able to experience the Charr invasion of Ascalon from a Charr perspective. To know what it was like as an Asura being driven to the surface. To be there when the gods first touched upon Tyria. And so on and so forth.
Any response from a dev will be met with either a link or a reference to this and/or the terms of use.
Which is probably why you never did get a concrete yes or no. Any programs that violate the terms can and will result in account termination. Its your responsibility to read the terms. So if you do use it, and get banned, you cannot claim ignorance as such terms are required to be accepted before you can play the game, and are made easily and readily available.
Dragon Ruler: You won’t get a yes or a no on ANY third party apps.
This is thier official stance on the matter concerning any and all software not delevoped or provided by Arena Net.

Mark Katzbach:
Hey all, allow me to quote Gaile Gray relating to this and all third-party programs:
Gaile Gray.6028:
ArenaNet cannot approve or review or “vet” any third-party programs. Our general policy is that anything that gives advantage is forbidden; anything that imbalances the game in favor of one player over another is strictly disallowed. With that said, we are aware that some utilities help players without impacting others, that is, they do not give anyone an advantage over someone else.
Our development team is not able to review third-party programs to kitten their components or give them any sort of approval. We make our policies clear in our User Agreement, Rules of Conduct, and the Conduct Breaches and Outcomes document, which you can find in the Legal Documentation section of our website: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/ You should know the following:
1. If you chose to use any third-party program, you do so at your own risk.
2. We cannot offer support if the third-party program impacts Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 and, for instance, makes the game unplayable.
3. If you choose to use what you believe to be a “benign,” or non-advantage-giving program, be sure to get it from a legitimate source to protect yourself from the possible addition of cheats or key-loggers.
The best way for a player to kitten whether a specific third-party program could have any impact on another player or a PvP opponent is to ask:
• “Does this program allow someone to play faster, better, longer, or more accurately than someone who doesn’t use it?”
• “Does this program allow someone to ‘play’ when he/she is not at the computer?”
• “Does this program allow the user to gain undeserved rewards?”
If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”—or even “maybe”—then we strongly recommend that you do not use the program because to do so may place your Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 account in jeopardy.
In the future, we will be working directly with the community to develop app support for Guild Wars 2, so stay tuned for more info!
This is our only stance on this matter. I’m sorry but we cannot and will not investigate third-party software to declare it safe or unsafe, as this takes away resources from our primary responsibilities. If you choose to use third-party software, you do so at your own risk.
