hmm necro is pretty good in spvp and wvw and also prtty strong in pve
warrior is good in wvw but pretty weak in spvp compared to the other classes.he is very strong in pve
thief is great in spvp and amazing in 1v1. in wvw more hated and annoying due to perma stealth and ganking and trolling. not that great in pve, but in pvp and wvw u sure will have fun with it.
mesmers are more fun when they are lvl80 i’d suggest not giving it up completely yet.but i felt similar with my ele. i played it for 800 hours and just dint vibe with it,then i pickeda mesmer and fell in love.
actually i think thief is rather excellent in 1v1, vs zergs though thieves are a little limited. u guys are hard to kill in pvp.in wvw there is soo much aoe going on that it is harder for u to escape.

let’s just give all thieves a perma invulbuff, so they stop trying to nerf everything that can hurt them.they cried the loudest for the confusion nerf and anet seems to care way more about them, so ANET please make thieves invulnerable!

my guild runs around with like 6-8 members quite often and we get things done and don’t fear to attack a keep with such low numbers. we are actually well respected for it.when we field more members like around 15+, the opponent thinks we field 60 people, because we are pretty much everywhere. my point is, that a small number can make a big difference if coordinated.
I don’t understand 2v1 talk. It’s a 3 way battle, there’s always gonna be 2 servers attacking you at almost anytime.
If this happens past your prime time, surely you see that if you’re smaller in numbers you become the natural target for capping points? Who wants to go through hours of fights and wipes just to secure something that is so well defended?

To add to, and clear this up a little:
1) Over the past few weeks it has appeared that TC and FA are leaving each other alone to concentrate on DB.
2) This has been confirmed to be PURELY COINCIDENCE by one of FA’s main ex-guild leaders (who did a great job in EB last night, btw)- there is no official alliance between TC and FA.
3) Unofficial alliances, however, are part of WvW. If we want to push a particular server, we usually force the 3rd server to stop attacking us – hence, unofficial alliance. That’s probably all that is happening.Tacking on as well:
Everybody that claims a 2v1 is occurring is forgetting one very important fact: Your server is not good enough to overcome an actual legitimate 2v1. You would need to replicate Kaineng’s post-bandwagon population dominance in Tiers 8-5 or so in order to overcome this much alleged 2v1 collusion and frankly the WvW servers cannot support one server fielding that amount of people.
Additionally every claim of a 2v1 speaks poorly of that individual’s understanding of how this WvW thing works. If two forces are engaging each other (trying to take a keep or something) you have a window to go and take an objective nearly unopposed. No matter which objective you go and take the owner of that objective is able to perceive what occurred as a 2v1.
Plus TC and FA hate each other. No way our guilds would bury the past ~3 months of contests and forum posts (or the ~2 months of contests late last year) just because DB won some matches.
haha yeah all this talk and whining about 2v1, makes me actually wanna team up with tc.
to DB:
you guys got a ton of transfers and made it into t2, where u belittle’d us,claiming we were to weak for you guys. your arrogance made us focus u guys more and to be quite honest, TC has a good sense of humor and as weird as it sounds, I prefer TC to you guys as they have been a good sport. we still fight both servers and we still try to take as many objectives in their bl as possible. red=dead!
Or… just maybe… confusion is a cheap condition that hit way to hard for such ease of access?
ease of access?erm sry but every glam skill has a major cooldown and a glam mesmer does not deal other dmg that that.Sry but bleeding is way easier to inflict and lasts very long if traited. confusion is actually avoidable and doesn’t last very long, there fore is hard to stack by a mesmer, the blinding befuddlement nerf would have been nerf enough as it makes it even harder to stack.
I have a couple of serious questions.
1. Did the person that came up with the math for this graduate from high school.
2. To prove it, please upload a copy of your high school diploma.How about just a copy of their resume. I don’t see his high school experience on there. Hopefully the other stuff can count as relevant experience for your assessment.

i’m actually very happy about the change, because the matchups were getting stuck and boring. with this change we will slowly see changes and less mass transfers while other servers are dying. yes, there will be chaos, but i’d rather have the chance to meet new servers all the time and not the same server for over 10 weeks.the system seems interesting and i cant wait for fresh air finally!
glam did not just get neutered, they overnerfed confusion and when we were already down to nothing but weakness, the kicked us even more in the face with this ridiculous change of blinding befuddlement. most likely they guy that decided to destroy glam completely, played his permastealth thief and got killed by a glam mesmer. Not knowing that glam does no other dmg but confusion he decided to take an entire build away from mesmers.
Or revert the confusion nerf… jesus H anet this is getting ridiculous.
or give at least some of it back.i miss my confusion a lot.50 percent plus blinding befuddlement and a zerker bug is too much.glam was a fun build and needed good timing and coordination to be effective.it should still be a strong viable build…but please fix the bugs aswell as we all have been waiting for it for such a long time
if u like fun and awesome tactics FA is the place for u. we are no bandwagoners, we are one big , crazy family that loves to wvw and if u have a lot of pve players in your guild, we have a nice community there aswell. come and check it out and believe me u wont regret it.

I love the defenders of Retaliation and Confusion…. being a glass cannon has little to do with it.
If you wanted to “punish” glass cannons properly…you’d make them do damage based on a percentage of the damage the attack deals, and also you’d make it only trigger once per attack (somehow?)
Who it really punishes is people who use AE attacks, glassy or not. And in a game where AT THE SAME TIME, people are debating how AE power needs to be increased…. I mean get your story straight!
erm yeah confusion dmg is not affected by the targets toughness….its more the button spamming thing that kills u…or used to kill u. unfortunately that has been destroyed already. retal is ok the way it works i think

well i am kind of ok with fighting other servers which don’t know us in and out and as weird as it seems I kinda look forward to new fights… I know it will create a lot of chaos, but also the opportunity to meet new opponents and create new strategies…i’m ok with it, but lets first see how it is gonna work out, don’t rant right away! maybe we will get some epic fights still and not just the top 4 or 5 servers get new players and transfers. what i’m trying to say is, don’t freak out guys! I am happy to meet new servers we all have been stuck in the same matchups for weeks and it could be exciting!
im happy they considered that some people have a high rank already and and getting 2 chests until u have all chests u deserve is a good way to get what u deserve. anet really wants to make a change for wvw and seems to finally listen to us.lets just wait for the 28th and see how the changes will work.
i hope we are getting new maps soon too though as the bl maps arr boring.lets givem a chance and try to enjoy the first few improvements before we complain. who knows maybe the patch after that anet comes up with something really epic, like map changesand new stuff for guilds, new weapons, new skins(cool ones). we will see so don’t be so pessimistic already.it seems like anest is finally trying to listen to us.
hmmtc has a strong community, so why don’t u hop on their teamspeak and talk to some people there. i had a bunch of new people asking me questions and i always advice them to go on ts. u can learn a lot there and its faster to explain things there.I’m sure 1 of the commanders or wvw veterans will take some time to help u out.
I do thu think we a bit stuck with eather centaur or air runes. If they added passive speed to give other rune option it would have to be on the cost of something else.
Other classes don’t need centaur runes or something like that for nice run speed. That’s a huge WvWvW advantage of them, so they use runes that give them combat superiority.
And yes, this applies to WvWvW only, i have no problems (and even a need in run speed, lol) in SPvP.
Other classes don’t have the amazing versatility and ability to spec into practically every style of gameplay.
You want to tank, go for it, check out Pyro’s Immortal build, you want to harass, there are amazing amounts of mobility, invis builds out there, you want to damage, we have that too, did I mention we can perma lock down opponents, burst damage, heal support and the only class that can effectively make a golem mobile and do more damage.I’m happy to lose out on a perma speed boost and keep the versatility and multitude of different ways to play a mesmer. Were not one of these classes that has post after post on their forum about a single build…
Then they nerfed confusion, and suddenly the latest osicat build was all there was…

yeah the confusion nerf hit a lot of builds very hard.i do miss it a lot but i am trying out new stuff all the time and gotta say, glam was the most fun for me and i din’t care that i could barey kill siege or deal regular dmg..i was happy to deal confusion only and didn’t mind the long skill cooldowns.. but lets see what the future brings…maybe an opportunity for a ton of new viable builds and new condition builds

yeah portalbombs need a lot of coordination and also great timing.i have seen tons of those fail. and no i don’t think it is a balance issue at all.
every class can play important parts in wvw. mesmers can pull people off walls, but eles for example and also necros and rangers are better to destroy siege and enemies on walls.mesmers do not have a lot of aoe since the destruction of confusion, thieves are great at ganking dolyaks or hide in keeps to rez a mesmer.warriors are great at the frontline….every class has something to bring to the table and it would be boring if all classes had all the same abilities.
ok, I do see both sides of this argument.
1 i undestand that noone wants to have to regear, because of a nerf. my main ia a mesmer and was glam build until the huge nerf destroyed that entire build and with it the whole collected rabit gear and ascended gear i’ve collected turned into dust. even my abyssal scepter counts as viable anymore. I had to use up a huge junk of my gold and badges to regear and i wish that to no other class or build to happen. As much as i disslike permastealth thieves..they made a choice for that kind of gameplay and should be allowed to, but other classes should have a chance to counter it in some way.
2 stealth traps can be avoided and do not destroy that build.
3 the problem is, that a lot of skills and utilities, do not work without a target and a permastealthed thief is hard to counter without AOE. now that confusion has been nerfed into oblivion and even retaliation has taken a hit, a lot of counters to a crit hit through permastealth thief have been taken away.
4 if classes would have an opportunity to counter there wouldn’t be this mass nerf cry towards thieves all over. so, I’d say fix other classes instead of mass nerfing as 1 nerf causes unbalance and another class will need a nerf after that and then another to another class after that…etc
oh well there will always be people that don’t like mass transferring as it creates unbalance in other servers and matchups. We got transfers in FA too when we were stuck in tier3 but we would not recruit to get to tier1 as we like having epic battles and little queues.
anyways, if you guys wanna head there, I will not judge that as it is your decision. good luck with it and may u have many good battles.
Is the combination cost for both items and infusions or just infusions?
Ascended items and infusions both will cost a less than normal amount of laurels, and a badge cost as well. (Ascended accessories will remain laurels + ecto, but with new WvW rank reward chests you’re going to be getting a lot more Ecto!)

Mesmers are awesome- like.. why add something then take it away then re add it but less effective then completely take it away again?? Whats the purpose in that- with any class nerfing.
Confusion builds were my fav to run in WvW so now I and many others must find a different build that will eventually be nerfed in some way and the cycle will continue.. regardless I still love my mesmer I just stay out of WvW from now on
very true. …hmm we are supposed to mesmerize, thats why we are called mesmers right? sooo when somone is mesmerized, it will affect his playstyle, his attacks, they get confused and hurt themselves while being confused…i mean if u are confused and use a sword, u might end up hitting or cutting yourself…so yeah confusion should be part of a mesmer and also should deal a great dmg…

confusion was fine in wvw the way it was, people just do not like to slow down their attacks and yes i died to it too the first time i was exposed to a glambomb. my guild wiped a couple of times till we understood how to deal with it.
yes please add this as it is annoying to search for armor and u have to go through pages of heavy if you are looking for light armor. also please add new armor skins it is time to bring new stuff out.

yeah mesmers have some skills your class doesent but u also have things we don’t, get used to it or change class.
look this is how you guys sound:
1 remove all shouts, banners, invulnerable and shake it off from warriors(it interferes with me killing them)
2 remove stealth, venom, stuns, crit, backstab, heartseeker, shadowstep from theives as i can’t kill them
3 remove cats and dogs from rangers as they hit me too hard
4 please remove daggers from eles and force them to use staff only and also reduce fire dmg
5 remove grenades from engis and the elixirs aswell
6 make guardians wear light armor,cut healing in half, remove retaliation and invul and force them to only use sword and shield
instead of crying here that u cannot target mesmer(btw try to target a thief…just saying), learn to play. mesmer is alwasy the one that dodges.
yeah i just feel like the mesmer is starting to be pushed in a direction that does not really suit him that well. I it is true that confusion if speced well does hit like a truck, but glam builds do next to nothing else as far as damage goes. a mesmer should have more crownd control abilities and should be a counter vs mindless buttonmashers. a mesmers should be able to confuse and turne enemies against eachother, use their abilities against them like refelecting and retaliation works..confusion is a condition that only hits hard if its vicitim keeps mashing buttons.
as far as for oh i cant dodge and cant do this and that when confused…erm if u have very little life and get hit by bleed stacks u will go down aswell if u cannot cleanse it, with confusion u can at least try to moonwalk back.I don’t wanna see the mesmer with swords only and dps only and just having clones to blow up, there should be the option to inflict bad statuses that cant hit like a truck and glam was exactly that!

And where exactly did this d/p thief’s 2 second stun come from? Note that BV is only 1.5, and maybe that seems nitpicky, but in a 3 second fight .5 sec makes quite the difference

Alright first question:

Yes if you go to the Trap and Tricks Outfitter the effects that are played when the traps activate are on the table! The supply trap is a tornado filled with supply and the Stealth trap is a black sucking miasma of stealth.Second questions:
Will the trap spring even if:
A) the person walking over it isn’t stealthed, or
B) the person walking over it doesn’t have any supply?Answer:
Yes, any “Enemy Player” can trigger the traps. This does mean that pets, clones, Npc’s, and ambient creatures CANNOT trigger the traps. This design was set so players wouldn’t put traps (especially the supply trap) on supply holds. Image if your zerg/small party didn’t have supply and went to restock at supply hold that had a few supply remove traps. As soon as the team has supply BOOM “Trapified” your supply is gone.Third Question?

yeah saw those running around last night and think its is very inappropriate. well DB, u know tc made a guild once called [FA]Good luck n tier 4….so we know how it feels and actually took it more as a challenge, but this guild name is way worse than that. I just think its childish and rude!

here is my thing. i didnt care about thieves when i still had my confusion, as i could use the thief’s button spamming against him.I used to have pretty epic duels with them even though i wouldnt deal direct dmg due to the glam spec. i felt even with them as confusion was a great counter to thieves, but with the nerf amd destruction of confusion and the rebuff of the revealed, madeit very very hard for me to fight them.
I don’t think thieves need major nerfs and do not wish to any other class to have to go through what mesmers had to with last patch, so solution here would be something to counter the permastealth or something to alllow us to still target them.This is joke ? Old WvWvW confusion was broken, you as the engineer apply on target 12 confision during 3 sec (4.0k dmg per one action) new confusion (2.78K).

What would be good for Kylia to test since he has the access to a coordinated group of mesmers. I was thinking Panacea but passiflora trinkets, etc are painful to get.
Given I’ll probably have to fund the 10+ sets of gear… let’s start with utils and traits first :p
Sorry, I’m just excited! I’ve been thinking about this ever since the patch and it’s killing me! My guild has pretty much stopped running with more than two or three mesmers so I can’t test anything beyond my own game play.

I’m another one who has gone through the trouble and expense of kitting out completely in Rabid gear. It cost a lot more than gearing up a power build. Now I wish I hadn’t spent so much time and gold on it.

Out of the three squishy, zip around avoiding hits professions, it’s the one that I have left.
Honestly, I’m still playing my Ele while levelling the thief. It was more the repetitive nature of D/D ele that lead me to work on another character than the recent nerfs.
And I still keep eyeing my Mesmer at the login screen and thinking I should kit her out in power gear at some point.
Gonna need an extra bank tab, though, so I can store my full set of exotic Rabid gear in the hopes that some day I’ll have a reason to go condition Mesmer again.
i actually created a thief and named it “my class after patch”, missed my mesmer though and went back…guess can’t stay away from it for more than 24 hours….
but gotta say that i do miss confusion a lot and all because people wanted to keep spamming their poor keyboard(hopefully they don’t have to write down any math figures with those keyboard as 1 and 2 are definitely worn out..
only a wvw player forgets to loot the mobs in pve and walks away thinking:darn, pve sucks, u don’t get any kitten lootbags at all!

hahaha yeah glamfields have this massive bubble lol and if u are hit by confusion you might notce the purple cloud around your characters head?yeah that means do not spam.maybe anet should add a beginners mode to wvw:
-if hit by confusion the screen gets a purple frame with butterflies and on your toolbar u see big red letter indicating “if u press this button 15 times you will die”with a giant red arrow pointing to your 17 confusion stacks that are blinking and a timer when stacks are falling which they do sooo fast!
if u got 25 stack, stop,count to 3 while moonwalking away from the fields and go back in as your stacks are already down to around 12.
25 stacks don’t last at all they hit they dissapear right away.
so dont do this with 25 stacks

Confusion mesmer was so powerful that a guild was created full of these mesmers.
Good nerf. Launching a power then hide waiting that ennemy kill himself is pretty cheap. These who could cleanse does, those who cant dont move nor attack in a middle of a zerg fight ??? this was pretty lame. If i was Anet I would nerf confusion even more just to stop these complains about last nerf
i know which guild you are talking about and u fail to notice, that the leader created that build, not a guild was created with mesmers because of the build and the glambombs were only strong because u got hit by 10-13mesmers
and this guild is extreemely coordinated, with portaling around u to flank you over and over again.
"guild"puts multiple enter portal down while backing off from your zerg, your zerg rushes in, 1 portal put down, "guild"portals behind u attacks u from behind, puts down second portal, flanks u from the side, pots down 3 portal flanks u from behind again, you are dead even though u outnumbered “them”. nothing to do with confusion by itself but great coordination of 10-13MESMERS!
Take any class,use the same viable zerg build and put 10 to 13 of them together in a very coordinated guild:
Hammer warrior = death
well necro=super death
engineers= u don’t even know what hit u it went that fast and all u heard was a biiiiig BOOOM!
guardians=kills an entire zerg without taking dmg
Thieves=fight takes a little longer, but 10-13 thieves can take down and entire zerg killing 5 to 8 targets everytime the become visible, then stealth agin go behind zerg, rinse and repeat
