Actually, the issue is getting to 500. Once you are at 500, it just takes time to get the ingredients. You will eventually get every weapon you want. It just will take awhile.

All, look at it this way. There is a big gap right now between what the ANET dev team thinks and what people on this forum think. If the league turns out to be as unbalanced as everyone in the forums think, then you have every right to criticize the ideas of the dev team going forward. Until we see the rules though, maybe there is something ANET isn’t telling us with the league set up/scoring.

I don’t think PvP is bad. It’s just not great. I’d love to see stats on how much time people spend in PvE, WvW, or PvP. I think you’d find that PvP is last.

To understand why, you have to look at the history of PvP. Originally, PvP was intended to cater to the hardcore player base. Classes were designed with that mindset. As it turned out, PvP tends to be more targeted to casual players or those who want to try new builds. Stealth is a tough mechanic for new players to fight against. That means stealth will always be a target.

I find that most people who complain about the downstate are relatively new. Most others know how to deal with it. The only change that should be made is that eles should not be able to mist through portals.

The Only Way to Balance Servers

Points (PPT) need to be awarded based on the number of players on each map.

Right now, keeps, towers, and camps all gives a consistent number of points. The challenge with this is that whoever has the most people on the map will win. It should instead work like this:

Server 1 has 70 people on one map
Server 2 has 40 people on one map
Server 3 has 10 people on one map

In this extreme case, server 3 has ~86% fewer participants than server 1. Server 3 should be rewarded with an 86% point bonus as well. (a camp would be worth 9 points per tick instead of 5)

So why implement this? Without a change in the scoring, the leagues are not going to be fun for anyone. It will just be blow out after blowout.

The scoring also negates the whole server transfer issue. Sure, someone could transfer to a T1 server, but that doesn’t necessarily increase their chances of winning. Overall, this will make the league much more exciting and without a determined outcome.

@OP. Why do you care if people transfer to a T1 server? T1 caters to a very specific audience. It is for those who want well coordinated, zerg warfare. If you are more into the smaller group roaming style, a lower tier is more appropriate.

It just depends what you enjoy.

The commander issue isn’t too big of an issue where I am. That said, I do think there should be a way for people to vote to suspend the tag for 24 hours.

I actually like last refuge as is. It saves me way more than hurts me. That said, I understand some people’s frustrations with it. I’d personally just add a skill that says the next attack does not generate revealed.

Seriously. I play solo queue mostly, and each time I see I rolled a team with two or more thieves on it, I smell a disaster is brewing. And indeed more often than not, I would even say as often as 90% of the times (yes, a made up number but thats how it feels) the team with those thieves will loose (unless enemy team also is thief heavy :p). Often badly. So, what gives?

From my experience thief is still a very strong PvP class. King of roaming in WvW and a decent node contester/roamer in sPvP. I’ve had some 1v1’s with some amazing thieves. So why is this happening that having thieves in sPvP matches feels like a handicap (unlike currently necros or decent bunkers)? You think that the profession is weak in conquest PvP? If so, why? Telling that “many noobs roll thieves” sounds like a conspiracy theory to me so I am not sure.

Actually thief is currently one of the weakest classes in PvP. I’d say thief and ranger are the two weakest actually.

As for WvW, thieves are “decent” at roaming. The only reason I saw that is that what a thief can do is try to catch someone offguard and burst them down. If the burst doesn’t work, they can run away. Personally, I think mesmers are the king of roaming.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. He’s a burst thief so I was thinking I could go a tanky CC Guardian build and take most of the aggro while he does his stuff.

I don’t need like the best of the best, I’m only on a Tier 7 server… just looking for a combo that works really so we can have some fun.

Actually tier 7 might be more competitive for 2v2 than a higher tier. I’m in tier 2 and we see mostly zerg fights.

To answer your question though, I’d say cc warrior or mesmer.

The stat difference between exotic and ascended for weapons is not that much. You’ll get all the mats you need eventually, but it’ll take time.

I don’t see these being offered for laurels/badges ever even though I think they should.

just do something about exploit of permanent invisibility thife camping bay 3 AM. 2 of them was from a guild TIME. all there was doing was camping bay inner and permanent invisibility in the smoke if the other enemy and fsp take bay back, there just waiting for the buff to get off then 3 men is soloing 2 thife and 1 war. and if we take it there just do the same and keep getting high xp

and after the enemy AG got bay 20 men was running after the thife and after 5 min there gave up

Actually, WvW is the serious mode. PvP is for casual players. PvP is a very simplistic version of fighting with minimal weapon choices.

None of these should have ever made it into WvW. Mastery skills should not impact the ability of players to fight each other.

Great coommunications

Symbols for Guardians needs to be adressed. To trait them its 55 Points in two different trees.

Considering its one symbol per weapons (4 symbols) the investment is just to heavy to even bother using more than one symbol trait.

Merge all symbol traits in honor and move empowering might and elusive Power to zeal.

Or move all symbols to the staff and:

Give the healing effect and aoe damage of the orb to the third step of the hammer chain
Give empower to mace
Give line of warding to GS

I would prefer all symbols on the staff which also would give Guardians a valid ranged damage option in wvw. Someything we actually lack compared to the other professions in the game. And no scepter is only valid for duels/small groups and pve.

And for the hundred time, fix the broken buff you get from symbol of swiftness.

Disagree with most of what you wrote. I like the staff as is.

I definitely agree with the broken symbol of swiftness though. Seriously, how long does it take to fix that???

Definitely not a fan. Dagger offhand is not just for condi specs. I just want the damage increased on both dancing dagger and clock and dagger. That’s all it needs.

For you P/D users though, I would like to see burning added to pistol #2.

This is true. Thieves are easy to kill. Unfortunately, PvP in GW2 is where the casual players are so there are a lot of complaints.

This does nothing about an OP necro or OP cc regen warrior. In fact it buffs the two strongest classes in the game.

It also does nothing to make rangers more viable.

Increase healing of eles?? Eles are the one class that can already not be killed if they don’t want to be.

S/D thief change? It should steal MORE boons, but damage less. Look at S/D as the support team class that will not kill anyone.

I agree withthe thief suggestion, to a lesser extend.

Currently thieves can spam backstabs on a blocking person, and dont get revealed. I think that should change.

Backstab and hit: revealed 4 seconds
Backstab in a block: 2 seconds.
Backstab in an evade: 2 seconds.
Backstab misses while in range (blind): 2 seconds
Backstab in the air: remain stealthes.

Also, the mesmer suggestion would do absolutely nothing for players who know what theyre doing, only new ones dont keep track of illusions.

No. Not surprised. Popularity of GW2 gamemodes are ranked like this:

1. PvE
2. WvW
3. PvP

PvE will almost always be the headline with an occasional one for WvW or PvP during special events. I expect WvW leagues will get the headline for the next update.

This is a potentially really good trait line to combat siege. In the current implementation though, it is really weak. I suggest something like the following. The points are the incremental at each level exactly the same as oil mastery or mortar mastery work.

1. Reduce damage from siege by 5% 5 points
2. Reduce damage from siege by 10% 10 points
3. Grants Protection to player when hit by a siege attack (10 seconds; 30 second cooldown) 15 points
4. Reduce damage from siege by 20% 20 points
5. Reflection: Incoming siege damage is reflected back to the siege operator (10 seconds; 90 second cooldown) 25 points

Personally, I think the bloodlust (horrible name btw since that prefers to power in the game) should do the following:

1. Double wxp gained while the buff is active
2. Double karma gained while the buff is active
3. Double magic find while the buff is active
4. Double points earned while the buff is active

Of those, 4 is really the most exciting. It means that a server that is behind could focus on holding the buff in order to help with a comeback.

You clearly do not play WvW. Yes, you can earn everything you need for an ascended through WvW.

Then why do people need to PVE to get theirs? Just because you eventually can doesn’t make it feasible. Buying two lottery tickets mathematically gives twice the chance to win compared to one. But practically, you’re better off getting struck by lightning, whether you have one or two tickets.

*Sigh Tell me which components you need for an ascended that you can’t get through WvW. That’s the entire point. You can get everything.

The fact is that ascended is a grind regardless of whether you do it in WvW or PvE.

On topic, no. Respecs aren’t necessary because you can just get more points. If you could respec, any points beyond 300 would be pretty much irrelevant. Scheduled, very occasional respecs are okay, but people will just game the system if they have the choice to change.

This is exactly why we are taking the path we have in regards to respecs. Because of the fact that you can continue to earn WXP and World Ability Points, giving everyone a respec, even an incredibly expensive one would cause people to shift around their points as the current meta dictates. Right now, you will have the opportunity at the start of a season to rethink how your characters are set up and to spend your points accordingly, without feeling like you are forever bound to your choices. But, because you can’t just back out of them whenever, they have more weight. That’s why we have done what we have.

Completely disagree with you. What you are encouraging is actually the dumbing down of WvW. What would be better is for a commander to discuss with his team members at the beginning of the run what role a person would play. Some people need different skills. The commander would know who his trebber would be vs his golem person, etc. It adds a whole new strategy to the daily grind of WvW.

Strategy is a good thing. Points should be easily reset at around the same cost similar to resetting skills.

The T7 mat rewards should be linked to the keep/tower cap event, rather than tagging the Lord. There are many situations where a siege has to split up with groups holding different areas and chokes and one group going for the cap, and all the current system does is discourage that type of strategic play because you get terrible rewards for doing what’s best for the situation.

9/6 SoR/TC/SoS

I’m not on SoS buuut…

I believe the reason why SoR is so much more organised in general is because they are constantly fighting servers of the same (or similar) population and calibre. For weeks the three ‘Titans’ as some may call it fight each other, while the other servers (SoS included) faces a eiiide variety of servers with a wiiide variety of population numbers. As a result there is a constant shift in the attitude/atmosphere/even skill of a server because of the variety of opposition they face.

That’s much the same reason we on TC have issues facing SoR every time we do.

We get months of (FA/DB/Mag) on one side (sometimes on both) and another on the other side, and we’re used to squaring off against that type of opponent.

SoR is a different animal altogether. It’s just how it is.

I’m fairly certain if we had four weeks solid against SoR, we would fare a lot better against them.

This is the truth ^^.

TC is in an odd position. It cannot compete with the top 3 servers, but servers 5, 6, and 7, don’t really compare to TC either. During most weeks, we fight the 5, 6, or 7 ranked servers and the score is usually pretty lopsided in TC’s favor. We just have more people than those servers. What that means if you end up with a lot of guild groups running tagless and just doing their own thing. That’s the only way they can find good fights.

When TC tries to fight a top 3 server, we still use those same tier 2 tactics and cannot compete. Servers like SoR are incredibly coordinated. Even if we both have a map queued, SoR will win due to superior tactics.

TC could compete, but would need to get away from being so guild focused and more map focused (better coordination between guilds). I’m sure over a period of 4 weeks or so, TC would adapt, but on any given week, that is unlikely.

200 seems high, especially when you factor in that you can resell some of the items that you’ve made. 100 is more realistic.

The problem is that after you’ve spend that 100, you still have to go out and grind for all the parts of the vision crystal. That takes a long time and is not fun, especially the empyreal fragments.

GvG people are starting to annoy me. It would be a fun game mode, but two questions:

1. Why do some nutjobs spam GvG questions in every developer stream? Yeah, like the lady who is showing us the new crafting will know about that.
2. Why do they post GvG comments here? I will laugh when GvG becomes a PvP gamemode and you get stuck with the lame PvP gear choices.
