Please disable Glory in Solo Q and give the loser 75 glory and winner 150. there is absolutely 0 resason to have it on during the match and just has hotjoin heroes playing their same zerg gameplay.

if they wanted WvW to be a “serious PvP activity” they would’ve balanced it like sPvP from the get-go
Its not possible to balance all game modes. They really need to pick one and balance from there. That’s why you have classes like warriors that have always been OP in WvW and PvE be considered weak in PvP (until the last update at least).
Look at it this way. Imagine a player trying to remember which skills have what damage in what gamemode. Its inconsistent and plays well for the hardcore gamer, but is horrible for the more casual gamer.

1. Eles are fine in WvW. Stop complaining about ANET taking a totally OP class and making it more in line with the others
2. Confusion is easy to deal with. I’d take a permanent stack of confusion at all times over all the siege damage these days.
It is not too easy to cap. In fact it is too easy to defend if you have a server that knows what they are doing.
@OP: Not really sure the point of this thread. It really applies to any of the classes at this point. Thieves as a class are average. You have some really bad thieves who are horrible at what they do and could be the worst player on the map. On the other hand, you have some really pro thief players who can dominate a game. It all comes down to the player.
My thoughts of the day to all 3 servers:
1. All 3 servers zerg at times and all 3 servers have small groups at times. The higher the tier, the more zerging. Arguing anything else is just silly.
2. Only a small portion of WvW members really care about your individual guild and whether you are good at GvG, or guild only runs.
3. The best commanders can either command pugs OR guild only runs. Being able to do only one or the other is nice, but not elite.
WvW was so boring tonight. TC is almost as good as JQ at running into towers and hiding. I’m looking at you, TC BL defenders. We’d try and goad them into doing actual open-field, but they’d either bring a full queue zerg to wipe us or run for a tower and sit on ACs.
Also, ACs should be removed from the game.
You guys should have stayed in EB where the CERN commander was looking for open fields.

I think it’s hard for people to believe your statement. Look at it this way… in the last year, PvP has received 3 new maps, a spectator system, and 2 types of arena queues.
PvE has received countless new maps for living story/special events and a whole new mode of fractals.
WvW has received the end of culling (a great thing) and a bunch of siege mastery skills that few people other than the developers want.
We just do not seem to be getting the same focus on WvW.

@OP: If you are on a top 3 tier server, no one cares if you have queues. I personally have dealt with it for a long time and have been on TC since launch.

You guys need to separate WvW from GvG. They are two very different things. Yes, you currently might GvG in WvW but that’s because there is no other place for it.
As for WvW itself, I do think the balance has swayed too much in favor of siege and less in favorite of open field combat.
Might be fun to replace the lake in the BL maps with a large center point. Do not allow any siege to be placed there. It would be purely open field PvP combat. See if people enjoy that or not.
The problem is that hammer is already one of the most OP weapons in WvW. It would be tough to improve it in PvE or PvP without making it crazy in WvW.

It’s not about adapting. If all someone wanted to play was skyhammer, they could create a build for that. In sPvP where the maps rotate, it isn’t realistic to respec everytime a specific new map comes.
There definitely should NOT be the ability to transmute PvE skins to PvP. ANET messed up by introducing the ability to convert certain PvE skins already.
The ONLY exception should be legendaries. If you earn one of those you should be able to use the skin in PvP if you want.
In all fairness of Arenanet puking out garbage that this is somehow a PvP oriented game, I would say yes, PvP definitely deserves more achievements than the current ridiculously drawn out “achievements” we have.

This game’s sPvP rank / achievements is quite literally a Korean grindfest, comparatively speaking.
Get in line after the WvW players. They have it way worse.

I am a big fan of GvG. I’d just prefer it was a separate map and that it would allow spectator mode. I definitely want this to occur with WvW skills/armor and not be a PvP mode.
The problem is three part:
1. Conquest is boring as the only game mode. There needs to be some type of deathmatch.
2. The new maps are not as good as the previous ones. Skyhammer is a cool concept, but is a horrible map from a competitive standpoint.
2. WvW is way more popular than expected. I’d imagine it is quite a bit more popular than PvP in terms of time spent there.

First you can’t really compare PvP and WvW. Since this is a PvP forum, I’ll comment on that. Stealth isn’t really a problem in PvP. Sure it can be used to run away, but who cares? That means if you are holding into a node or trying to capture a node, you will win. That’s a good thing.
If you want to complain about thieves, complain about S/D. That’s the total OP spec at the moment. There is very little stealth there.
NOTHING is competitive about playing 4v5s, luck based and unbalanced setups.
Or does anyone really think this is competitive and deserves a leaderboard to represent palyers “skilllevel” ?

Just… stop. Please, stop. If you like the trait, have it your way – as a major trait. But don’t screw everybody else. As I’ve illustrated earlier, this is the only minor trait (aka: forced to use) in the game that comes with a potential downside. If you don’t recognize this fact, you are blind. No amount of practice (and condescendence, in your case) will make up for better thought out design and functionality.
You completely miss the point. It is a big help! I didn’t mean to be condescending. I didn’t know how to use last refuge at first either. Practice does help. You learn when to except it to proc. After awhile, it will save you way more than hurt.
I think you shouldn’t be switching multiple times a day – but you fix that through two methods:
1) Make the cost (in badges) be relative to the average number of badges a player gets per day. A full stack would probably be fair – that’s the fair market value of almost 1 gold.2) Only allow respec’ing of this at a specific objective – Garrison, your fortress in your own borderland, or heck, even SMC.
Disagree with point 1, and agree with point 2.
People should be able to respec for the same cost as resetting your main traits. Think about it. Any good player will have a different roaming spec than a zerging spec. I’d want different WvW skills based on what I am doing as well. It adds more strategy to the game which is a good thing.
Reduce the damage you can take in WvWvW by up to 5k every second, this is to all conditions, retaliation, physical damage, everything.
Nobody should be instantly killed by a 30 man zerg, at least give people a chance to react.
This would also make WvWvW a bit less laggy.
Wow, horrible idea. If someone is caught offguard by 30 people running at them, they deserve to die. Situational awareness.
If you want to encourage small group play, here is an easy fix…
1. Increase the radius of all siege attacks
2. If 5 or less people are in the siege attack radius, they take no damage.
3. kitten or more are in the siege attack radius, they take progressively more damage based on the number of people.
ANET, please give us this! It makes NO sense not to allow a point reset. Afterall, we can reset our main skills any time we want.

Unfortunately, capture the flag doesn’t really work well for this game type. I’m completely against disabling skills in order to do it.
What we do need is a team death match option.
The WXP boost is to basically everything and should significantly increase the rate at which characters gain ranks.
With all of these new siege skills every update, there really should be a way to reset skill points.
Cool, so T-1 NA after several weeks would end up being BG/SoR/JQ -> BG/SoR/TC or some variant of that for weeks on end. 1up1down isn’t really as great as it sounds.
You can’t build a rating system based on T1. While the winner up, loser down, might not work well there, it’s not as bad as it seems in the other tiers. It is certainly an improvement over matchups such as 14 vs 21 vs 22.
Besides, dropping a tier isn’t always a bad thing. Look at JQ. They were getting beat up in T1. They spent a couple of weeks in T2 and now look at them.
@OP. If you do not enjoy non-stop fighting, perhaps WvW is not for you. The banner adds a smart way to defend towers or keeps.
Is there a profession that has been hit by the nerf bat as hard or as much as the ele since launch? This might be a bug, but it seems like someone really doesn’t want the ele to be good for anything.
Note – It’s still good for anything for the most part.
Thieves and eles have definitely been hit the hardest.
That said, if you enjoy ele, play it in WvW. Only some of the nerfs were implemted there and it is still quite strong.

It should be expected that GvG becomes more popular. As ANET removes the PvP aspect of the game with more siege type skills, GvG is the best way to actually fight.
@OP Sigh. Another thread like this. If obviously are not main as a thief. First, there are not a lot of HS spammers. Second, you should be happy if you see a HS spammer. They are easy to kill.
@OP: This has been my favorite update to date. Please stop throwing around the “manifesto” term when you clearly have no idea what it means.
This game is about flexibility. You can play whatever you want! If you choose to skip this event, what do you really lose? Nothing.
In other words, if you don’t like it, don’t play it. Do something else and maybe a future living story will be more to your liking. In the meantime, quit whining.
Seems like the biggest add to WvW this update is a bunch of bugs.
Do not put Jade Quarry with t2-3 servers again. I am sick of having nothing to do in WvW. This is definitely no way to keep players interested in WvW, let alone staying in their own server. Can’t even begin to express how upsetting it is, knowing friends from your own server left because of the lack of challenge and complete and utter boredom from nothing to do. Not everyone likes to do the lame, Living Story achievements and repetitive dungeons that are now, more useless than before. I for one spend the majority of my Gw2 time in WvW and the past 2 weeks have been a snore fest. My ranks not going up any faster walking around a map that’s all ours and no one to fight cause they’ve all bailed. I’m not spending 25 bucks to switch to a server that probably, most likely, wont be matched up again…and if they are, well. That is just ridiculous. SOR/BG/JQ <~ Next week, please. Or at least one of the two. JQ wasted TC, DB and FA…By miles in comparison when it came to our score. A little common sense when it comes to matching servers would be HIGHLY appreciated. – -"
Your problem. You have a t1+ strength in SEA but a T2 strength in NA. You do not match up well with anyone. You will be wrecked by T1. Your only fair fight might be JQvTCvDB. Unfortunately, you are unlikely to ever see that battle. JQvsTCvsFA doesn’t really count since FA targets TC most of the time.

This game called “Guild Wars 2”, not “standing at walls and pew-pew wars”. Just be grateful for having some sort of pve activity in PvP mode. I seriously don’t understand why we even need those towers, keeps, npc and other pve crap, but whatever. If you hate GvG so much, just go kill some dragons, save Tyria.

Right now we are struggling on TC map because these kids are kill trading. It effects a actual game mode negatively and needs to be put to an end. As a community have already asked them to hold their kill trading till before reset, but they have refused plz do something Anet they are risking the effort put forth by the rest of there servers.
No! GvG should be encouraged. In fact I’d love to see a separate WvW map that was just the open field near the windmill. Let there be 10v 10 through 20v20. Let spectators watch. It would be more popular than the pvp spectator mode

Thieves are a trash class that was overspecialized into doing one thing in the most game breaking and simple manner possible: press 2 a lot and have near permanent access to invisibility…!#$%ing infantile…
The class is otherwise totally worthless in WvW. You run in a zerg with a glass cannon thief and what happens is you go down, you die, and then half the enemy zerg rally’s off your stupid little thief !#$, and they proceed to straight up curb stomp your allies.
The Thief represents a total failure in core class design by being neither challenging to play, nor encouraging of build versatility, nor presenting options to fill other roles in a party, and makes itself infamous for the only thing it can do well: being a no-skill-required pain in the #$% amounting to little more than a bunch of petty trolls.
The entire class needs a MAJOR overhaul, primarily in changing the whole no-skill-required stealth and spam-2-till-it-dies mechanics of the class.
Do you actually play the game? It sure doesn’t seem like it. If so, don’t feel bad. Once you level up a bit you’ll actually be happy to see any thief that spams 2. They are easy to kill.
I think people complaining about heartseeker are the ones that just see HS HS HS HS HS. I often use it as a gap closer, so a fight might be stealth, backstab, AA AA AA, HS to close the distance, Backstab, AA AA AA, HS HS HS.
Actually I thinking people complaining about someone only using HS against them are bad (hi OP). I loooooove facing thieves who only heart seeker. It is easy to kill them.
