Is anyone in TC fed up of tier 1? This skill lag infested tier is getting on my nerves.
Not at all. Tier 1 is fun. I just wish there were more smaller roamer fights in addition to the zerg battles.
I’ve also seen a lot of threads about people complaining about servers running away from fights. The reality is that everyone does it at times. Every commander is different. I know on TC we have some commanders that want to open field fight and that’s it. We have other commanders that want to play the PPT game. It just depends who is leading at the time.
@OP: Be careful what you wish for. ANET probably thinks they are releasing a lot of new stuff. Unfortunately, the current team in charge of WvW is taking it in the wrong direction. They keep focusing on this waste of time progression stuff instead of working on something of value…. like a new map.
We are coming up on a year since launch. Time to end the excuses.
Eles are in a good place right now, at least in WvW. They do not really need any other buffs. PvP is also ok. PvE likes needs some help.

You seem bitter about the fight styles of tier 1/2. You probably would be happier on a lower tier where there are more roaming groups.
Hi I’m on TC. I’ve been on TC for a long time now. I’m sick of the stupid lagfest 80+ sized zergballs in T1. I like being able to use a skill other than 1. Please shove JQ back to T1 with the others that apparently enjoy this rubbish. They need to be quarantined and kept away from the general population to prevent the further spread of this. Thanks.
Interesting analysis, however I happen to know that a lot of T1 guilds run fairly complicated builds and a “skill 1 spam” would end up with you being a loot bag on the floor. A more accurate number as far as group size is concerned would be 30-50. It’s pretty rare outside of karma trains or multiple forces combining to take a well defended target to see 60+ players in a single group.
If your guild or a commander you follow is suggesting that you just stand there and spam “1”, I suggest finding a new guild or commander to follow.
T1 NA often lags to the point to where you can’t use any skill other than 1… even if you’re away from the fight. That’s what I’m referring to.
Often? I rarely see lag unless there’s a 3 way keep battle or I’m on EB (hate that map). If this happens to you all the time, I would suggest looking into a better internet connection. However it could just be your geolocation in relation to the ANET servers.

Waiting over 85mins to get to play a kittening game that you have BOUGHT doesn’t make any kittening sense to me!!!!!!!. Only a company like ANET would allow this, and not give a kittening kitten about it. For Christ’s sake really, all maps despite repeated queue’s over 85 kittening mins!!!!!!! Tier 1 and tier 2 people have no basis to complain. If you do not like the queue, transfer to a lower tier. Otherwise stop whining

I am in Jade Quarry server for a reason, to play in T1, and I have 3 weeks playing, owning and boring servers that are not T1 level.

The issue is BG and SoR are at their own level right now. No one compares with them coverage wise.
JQ is good. The issue is that they have a tier 1 coverage on SEA and a tier 2 coverage in NA.
Thief isn’t useless. Also, last time I checked all classes had to walk since none can (yet) fly.
Definitely not useless. It’s just that thief in general is good at two areas of the game. Roaming in WvW or hot join against those who are just learning their class.
The thief is average or below average in the other areas of the game. The low point is probably in dungeons where the thief is the worst class overall.
Altruistic Healing is almost on every guardian build, it simply heals way to much and heals for more then most ‘6’ skills.

Add an internal cool-down of 1 second to Altruistic Healing and increase the healing slightly to balance it please, 5 guardians with AH/Might on Crit builds can pretty much never die, even with 40 people beating on them. (as seen in videos.)
When every tree is 0/0/30/0/0 you know something is wrong with the tree, it offers high damage, high survivability, high sustain all in one package. I also think the 30% Critical Damage should be traded with the Virtues tree.
0/0/30/30/0 should not have the high damage it currently has… Its kind of ridiculous actually.

well my main is thief, after that i leveld ele and geared him did some roaming and 1v1’ing with him. then i started to plaay thief again. after 5min i whas bored.. only thing i see in a thief roaming is, stealth, backstab, run. stealth again, backstab run. i dont know how swords play. but is there a build where u dont need to slealth all the time and doing same things to win? when i 1v1 with ele i got a lot of combo’s to do etc. but with thief just a few and always the same,
its a funny class to play, but i’m bored of doing always the same over and over again. i will be verry happy if u can give me a non (less) stealth build?
If it isn’t fun, focus on the ele for now. It’s never a bad thing to get a break from a class and learn the mechanics of the other classes.
I am really looking forward to this. It will be something that tests individual skill vs team composition.

Thief
If you enjoy roaming, those have the best chance.

I’d prefer that guardians were the anti-condition spec. The current meta is all about conditions. I’d like to see guards easily clear whatever any class can put on them.

This is a great idea. I like it. I’d probably reduce it to 20% or so, but the concept is great.
Classified information
Based on popular demand, we have remained this game mode SiegevSiege (or SvS for short). Upon entering SvS, you will no longer have access to any of your weapons or utilities. Instead, everyone will automatically run to supply depots to build siege. We are also introducing a new siege mastery skill. This will allow you to strap and AC to your head and run around.
There will also be a new map! This will allow for two supply depots that are in AC range of each other. The first team to wipe the other wins!
More PvE crap? Really?? I am getting tired of WvW being ignored in this game. This game is starting to become stale.
It’s more like this. Since culing update, there’s no any “good” update for WvW. I mean WXP and other things like that are small update that dosent require much work from player, and basiclly doing nothing more, that even enemy wont see your title on zerg/blob or anything.
We already know that we will not get GvG system/map since AN is afraid that it will “destroy” thier e-delusion sport tpvp. But for every 2 weeks, or every month we will get some crapy skills that bascilly no1 using? Since they buffed a little Guard killer/def some ppl start to using it, but others skills are completly usless. Im just wondering what excatly doing our lovely WvW designer. If this is all what AN have to present to WvW, imo this is over. Prolly next new games, will make borders empty.

Well said. Every update to WvW is taking the game mode in the wrong direction. WvW is a chance to fight against players using my own equipment.
I’d even be happy if they just opened a new game mode that was an open field where people could GvG or solo queue into deathmatch type action.
Please focus the the team on items that will increase the fun factor. In order:
1. New maps – The excuse of “this takes too much time” is not valid anymore. There are new maps coming out constantly for PvE. We can’t get any for WvW?
2. Skill lag – Not fun when the only key that works is the 1 button.
3. Broken commander tags – Fix please
4. Commander system – They need more abilities than just an icon on the mini map
It’s just really disappointing that there is such a lack of focus on WvW.

@OP. I like that you posted your build and your reasoning behind it. Clearly there is a lot of thought around it. I think the issue is comparing it to Jumper’s build right from the start. It doesn’t matter.
The truth is that neither build is the best build for everyone. The best build is one that matches the way an individual plays. Guides like yours or Jumper’s are great to give new ideas or to learn new techniques.
Personally, I do not care who wins. Discounted keys? I won’t buy them anyway. Discounted WP? Not a big deal. New fractals? I don’t run fractals.
Now tell me that one of the candidates will give us new WvW maps, and I’ll be excited.

For roaming:

If you want to do both, go ele.

There is a reason that PvP is the least popular GW2 game mode. It is boring. Fortunately, ANET seems intent on wrecking WvW with more siege, so most likely you’ll see more people come to PvP.
CC for warrior is fine in PvP. CC for warrior in WvW is OP. Since this is a PvP forum, it is fine.

Agreed. It is clear there is no monk. Sadly, if someone wants to play a monk, they need a different game. Personally, I prefer this style game over always needing to look for a healer or specific other classes.
At OP…. You are trying to choose between the two most important classes in any zerg. There is no better choice. Just pick the one you like the most.
The rifle is kind of a unique weapon for the warrior, however it has one problem “Kill-Shot”, its meant to be a powerful move that would make a warrior offensive, while the longbow is almost better in every single way. Currently useless in non zerg pvp because of how it works.
Kill-Shot should be a high risk shot that inflicts 7 seconds of “Self-Weakness.” and “10 Self-Vulnerability” on the warror. However be good damage.
With the recent nerf to the greatsword (Making Berserker’s power/The Critical so deep in the trees.) Rifle Damage was really nerfed. If you go 30/0/0/0/30, you can’t get the rifle trait that makes it pierce, so to compensate, instant cast.
This makes me laugh. It is already the hardest hitting 1 key skill in the game. You want to make that instant cast? Worst idea ever.
Retaliation has already been nerfed. It is fine as-is.

Whats the best choice for both WvWvW, and Community. I am looking to transfer soon and I am looking for the best of these three for both of these areas of interest.

Reasons:
in EU, they have managed to get all the servers (except the bottom two) all within 800 pts of each other. In the current matchup probability range 1-11 can face each other while 11-23 can face each other.
Going back to tiered matches in EU will not result in any stagnation for some time. Only VS, FoW, and Vabbi are unlikely to see any change.in NA, we have finally equilibrium as AR hakitten T8 (ET deserves the chance to climb out of last) while EB and KN are likely to settle in T5 (KN is already there and EB will be there at the end of next week unless they roll very low).
T3 is pretty stable, with Mag and SoS trading 7th every couple of weeks and CD coming in as would be expected of a server that has added some people.
FA is still too large to fall to T3, while TC failed to shame JQ into an implosion.
Unless the devs plan on reducing cap map populations, NA isn’t going to see anymore changes and the matches can be decided by rankings now. 4th will always beat 5th, 5th will beat 6th, and so on. Only two aberrations remain, unless another large group from a mid-tier server decides to go to DB or BG to never be heard from again.
Huh? The most even matchup in upper tiers is probably JQ vs TC vs DB. The only way that can happen is through RNG.

Rank 3 (30 points): Nearby golems move 50% faster for 5 seconds when you enter or exit a portal

You just need to understand the way a BG/SoR matchup works.
I think/hope it was a joke. Anyone who has played on TC for more than a week knows the history between SoR and BG.
Anyway, good to see SoR and BG again. It reminds me of the old days when the two of you beat us down in tier 2. The biggest difference is that all 3 servers are more coordinated now. BG and SoR definitely deserve to be the top 2 servers.
Shout builds have been the meta in WvW zerg fights for months now. Warriors were already one of the top 3 ZERG classes in WvW and this just made them stronger.
If you are immobilized, you can teleport away from a 100blades.
Also lower initiative cost and getting away from someone teleporting on top of you when you are still revealed(read: you sneak attack and he just ports on top of you to burst you down while you can’t cnd, so you shadowstrike away).It’s more of a situational escape tool, so I don’t see the torment as that much of a buff…
This is so true. It is definitely best as an escape. Adding torment was nice, but didn’t do a whole lot other than getting a lot of FotM thieves to try P/D.
It’s also fun to troll with it in PvE.

I’m pretty much fed up with a class design allowing those who pick up the Thief class to spend less than a day with it and compete with some of the best DPS metagamers to ever put their hands on GW2…by pressing 2…a lot.
Now before you crazed defenders of all things Thief get all up in arms over another thread calling for a nerf, please read, let this idea bounce around in your head a bit, and then reply with an actual opinion.

Ok, here it is:
New sPvP and WvW Feature: Exhaustion “when activating the same non-auto-attack (#1 skill) weapon skill within 2 seconds that skill gains a 1.5 second cooldown that stacks in intensity.”
As far as I can tell this only effects skill spamming and doesn’t circumvent the initiative system, but rather encourages learning to play the class as intended. Pressing one key to victory is pandering to bad players and trivializing the class as a whole. Watching an initiative bar and playing Wack-A-Mole with the 2-key should not be the back bone of a play-style.
My biggest problem doesn’t stem from being attacked by this type of play style, oh no. I beat those kids like it’s a Chris Brown and Rihanna RP. The problem is my difficulty in learning the class. Everytime I try to get into it, I get myself into a situation in which repetitively pressing 2 is the best choice (cloak & dagger, backstab, they run…soooo heartseeker…still alive, still running, sooooo heartseeker…still not down? still running…heartseeker!) Other classes, of with I have 4 fully exoticed at 80, I’m forced to use something else, because the skill I’d like to use is on cool-down, so I have to figure out what to do with my other options. This is how I learn, and this prevents me from playing a non-2-spamming thief. I burn out my initiative pressing 2 and if it doesn’t kill them I stealth away and recover…and then try something else only to end up doing it again, which actually beats other thieves more often than anyone else, which is dumb, since I’ve collectively put in about 10 hours of game time into the class and only in sPvP.
hahahahaha. I’m assuming this is a joke and it is really funny. Everyone knows the thief is one of the two weakest classes at this point. Thanks for the attempt at humor.

I’m not sure I understand your build. On one hand you don’t get hit enough to need a stun breaker but on the other hand you get downed enough that you need back fighting. Something seems out of place there.
Edit: I also see you said you don’t use steal. Why??? It is easy way to get into stealth in combo with CnD.

Play WvW. It is a way more popular game mode than PvP anyway. In WvW, hammer warriors are one of the most desired classes for zerg fighting.
Warrior’s may not be op atm (I wouldn’t give em that), but today my lvl 80 warrior comes main. That’s for certain. I did the same with necro when earlier patch hits. Was necro op? nope. Where they finally Viable: yes.
But here we go warrior main, lets see how long it will take them to nerf warrior

Warriors have been one of the strongest zerg classes in WvW for awhile. Plenty of people started a warrior just for that.
