no, you have missed your chance to get the legendary wings. they said they will add a way to get it again later on, but most likely it will be a different method entirely

HoT Collections are Kind of Similar

The majority of my in game time is spend doing collections, I don’t know if that is what many people do, but I am focusing on getting my HoT bladed armor, auric weapons, leystone armor, etc completed. These mostly involve farming the meta to get the map currency and buying recipes or the weapons themselves. You end up having to farm thousands of currency. I completed my bladed armor a couple days ago, and it wasn’t too bad, but then I looked at the other rewards from the vendor, and to get the Order backpieces, the elite spec weapons, machined weapons, and rev armor, you need to buy a piece from the vendor for each collection which are a few hundred each.

Without actually adding it all up, I would guess you need at least 10,000 of each currency for the HoT collections. I’m just saying it is kind of repetitive. The suggestion would be to try and find some way to give variety to how you complete collections. It is essentially the same collection over and over but the items are called something else. An example is the Order backpieces. If you are doing the Priory one, maybe it should take you to the Priory itself, maybe you have to get a component from an NPC there who sells it for some item you loot from a cave that’s already in the game. I dunno. Thoughts guys?

I have a lot of gliders but I needed to buy most of them with money, it would be cool to see some in game for people who don’t want to spend money and as incentive to play which ever type of content you drop them into as rewards.

a speed increase would be cool, especially if it was a reward that is hard to get. Just some quality of life, but that may make it possible to get to some places you never could before and that may break something

GEMFX help?

I cant get GEMFX to change the look of the game. It seemed to install fine and running it has no issues but it doesn’t do anything to GW2. It is installed in the bin folder and I have tried running as administrator. I also toggled the compatability mode or whatever on gemfx. I had the same issue with sweetfx and eventually gave up. Am I supposed to run the game through gemfx similar to how you had to on sweetfx? Also, gemfx does crash when I try the offline preview

I thought the same thing about the progress until I gave it a second of thought.
-We check on bandits
-Kill aerin
-tried to cleanse ascalon
-gathered the world’s armies
-the pale tree was attacked
-Found out about the egg
-Found the egg which was stolen
-master of peace died

I would say that is good story progression for a season. Next season will start with us pushing further into drytop to go actually kill mordremoth.

When I see somebody in full ascended armor and a legendary, I am impressed. I think this game needs more of that. As the title suggests, I think that we should be rewarded with a unique cosmetic reward for completing some of the harder collections. For instance, the ambrite skins. That is one hell of a collection, it takes some time to get every skin. But there is little incentive to go for that achievement. The only reason I am going for it is because since there is no raids or anything, I am making the absolute most out of the maps they give us.

For getting every ambrite weapon, we should be rewarded with a weapon or an armor set or something so that when people see it, they think “wow, that guy spent a lot of time working for that”. I think that in doing this, they can add to the amount of time people will spend playing the content without having to put that much work in

“we get a single story mission every 2 weeks”. we get multiple missions every 2 weeks. And the amount of time it takes to do the content added isn’t how long it takes to do the story missions once any more than a raid only adds 4 hours of content from a single playthrough. You are meant to play the episode, play it again for achievements, get the collection for the armor piece, and then play the new map for the rewards from the vendors. I am still not done with dry top. Not until I make every weapon from there.

The two examples you used to illustrate how good season one was… are Lost Shores, and Flame and Frost. The two most complained about updates in the history of GW2. Lost shores was a DISASTER. and Flame and Frost had you running around fixing signs and looting the bodies of dead refugees. There was no lore in any of these updates. Season one was fun at times. I would rather have it the way it is now. I still haven’t mastered every episode, so in my opinion, I haven’t completed the content. The maps are super fun IMO. But you would rather have Flame and Frost?

I totally could buy a scepter, and I probably will, but they shouldn’t make two bosses that discriminates against people that use a certain type of weapon. Builds are one thing. It shouldn’t be easy for me to quickly kill a boss in clerics gear, but I shouldn’t be forced to use a scepter

Well if you take a look at the achievement panel, you get the gloves from completing the episode in an achievement. In echoes, you got it from the mission reward. So no, it isn’t a bug. It doesn’t even seem like a bug

I am perfectly happy with the Living Story. I spend a lot of time in Dry Top and Silverwastes, I haven’t completed Mawdrey yet and I haven’t completed my ambrite weapon collection. I am currently working on mastery of all episodes and the luminescent gloves. You have 8000 hours in game. eight THOUSAND. and your saying that there isn’t enough content coming in the game? You spent 47 weeks playing this game and you are STILL playing it. You must like the content they are putting into the game. We WILL be getting new world bosses, I bet we get one this season We WILL be getting new PvP modes, I bet that comes this feature pack. As for dungeons, they said they aren’t working on dungeons, so you shouldn’t expect that in the first place.

Like the title says, the teragriff boss is way unfair to melee players. As a melee, I had to wait to attack him until he gets stunned for a couple of seconds, and me being in clerics gear, it took forever. And partway through the fight, the moments where he is open for attack stop coming, so I am forced to hit him one time when we charges past me, but I have to be just far away enough so he doesn’t run me over, but just close enough so that I can hit him. But if I was ranged, I could just ignore adds completely and burn him down as he runs around the room.

The miniboss before that, too, the thresher, is the same way. As a melee, I have to stun him when he is about to heal himself (which is the intended mechanic I think), but I run out of stuns too fast and then he heals to full after I blow all my cooldowns. But if you get out of melee range, he stops healing himself. So if I was ranged, I could just stand away and ranged attack him without him healing himself. Instead, I had to stand back and just let the NPCs kill him while I waited doing nothing

I think the rewards are good. I had a good time getting badges to get all the stuff from the new vendor. The new shoulder skins has been keeping me occupied, and mawdrey is a long term goal that I am slowly gathering the materials to get. Before silverwastes, my time was spent trying to get all the ambrite weapons and I am still working on that. I think the zones are very rewarding

Game Updates: Traits

I was very excited by this when they first announced it, but the trait requirements are so far out of my way that I never do them. I am leveling in ascalon, but the trait I want tells my I have to go level in shiverpeaks. But I don’t want to go level in shiverpeaks cause I literally just did map completion there and dont want to bore myself to do it again. Completing a whole map for a trait is pretty crazy.

I think the better way to do it would be to allow us to get a new type of point that allows us to unlock whichever trait in that tier that we want to. Its annoying that I can’t change my builds now on my new characters because I unlock only the traits I need and when I need to change them real fast, I have to go spend gold even if it is just for the fall damage trait which I need just for a second.

I thought that they had removed bundles in starter zones because the devs deemed them “too complicated”. But there are still bundle items laying around. The only ones that they removed it seems are the ones that make heart texts inaccurate for instance in plains of ashford one heart tells you to pick up cannonballs, but you can no longer do that.

People have been asking for a while to be able to have their custom playlists be changed to play different music based on the zone. Because each zone has a different feel to is, but the default music doesn’t convey that much in the classic zones. My problem is I don’t so much like the original music, but I LOVE the new zone musics. I would be great if I could play more war themed songs for charr areas, more “magical” songs for sylvari areas, etc, while keeping the wastes music. I could just download the new music and put it in a custom playlist, but I don’t want the wastes music playing in caledon forest cause it doesn’t fit. My question is though have the devs ever said anything about this? is it even possible with how the game does its music?

I mean, it makes it easier to make leather armor, but it throws off the balance a bit. I come across orichalcum and ancient logs and gossamer enough though. I have 89 ancient logs right now that I haven’t gotten around to refining. I have 30 orichalcum ingots. All from just casually gathering it

Crafting is pretty useless until you get to level cap. Crafting is the main way to get the best gear in the game. If you don’t craft, you will be missing out on ascended armor. Other than ascended armor, there are unique skins out there that can only be crafted. I would for sure craft on every character you make until you have everything maxed

I have been seeing a lot of people complain about how Dry Top isn’t good content because it is just a mindless farm. But people aren’t seeing the depth to it. I spend a lot of time in dry top, and most of the time I am doing just a random map that is unorganized where I normally am getting a T4 sandstorm. And doing Dry Top as an unorganized group IS a mindless farm.

But, the depth of the content comes from trying to get t6. You can join an unorganized map and get t4, but if you want the maximum rewards and profit, you are meant to do Dry Top in an organized map that is trying to get T6. I just got done with a T6 run and I really got to see how the map was designed to be played. 1 team at each area of the map, all efficiently completing events simultaneously while communicating on teamspeak. It felt like I was in a raid.

That is how Dry Top was meant to be played, but players just don’t see that. If you are a new player going to Dry Top, you will just see the mindless zergs and not know anything beyond that. There is nothing telling you to join an organized group. And when people just think that the unorganized run is all there is to do, they start complaining about how Anet is making bad content, when that really just isn’t true.

I urge people to join a guild on an organized run and see if you don’t find it way more fun.

I think a cool feature (and probably a simple one) would be to allow us to make notes on our maps to mark interesting things that we find and might want to go back to. A lot of times, I wish I could mark down an area to remind myself “Hey, you can farm X here” or “Jumping puzzle here” . I have seen this in a couple games but it is incredibly useful imo

I can understand your opinion about having it all up at once, that is just personal preference, but come on, man. it takes way longer than 20 minutes to finish an episode of LS. Especially the first time through when you are actually reading all the stuff.
