All doors are permanently open now, how am I supposed to trigger the events for the halloween event achievement?…
Same problem here. I only ever got the one in Queensdale to open the doors, now nothing is triggering.
Any advice on this?
There are still haunted doors that spawn events instead of portals. Look around for doors that do not have markers on them. There are also some events in the Mad King Labyrinth.
It’s just a great place to watch all the silly mortals fall for his Haunted Door prank. Fall…get it?

We noticed some confusion about the timing of Mad King Thorn’s activities in Lion’s Arch, specifically the “Mad King Says” game. Mad King Thorn will be appearing in Lion’s Arch every so often to play pranks, games, and “Mad King Says.” He plays “Mad King Says” about every 30 – 60 minutes, so if you arrive and he’s just finished, come back a bit later. He’ll be hanging around in Lion’s Arch until around Noon PDT / 19:00 GMT, tomorrow November 1.

Thanks for the feedback all. As Jonathan stated, the developers are extremely busy working on the game, going to meetings, etc, but they do read the forums in the brief moments they’re allowed to breath.

It does not work on the Mystic Forge, magic find only effects the loot generated from killing monsters. (this includes crafting materials, higher tiers of loot like rares & exotics… etc… )
Granted Zomoross is mighty and I’m sure he randomly gives more favor to those who are wearing a tin foil hat in real life and are spinning in their chair while clicking the forge button he is evil like that.
Account recovery requires us to strike a difficult balance.
We need to ask for information that you know, but only you should know; the easier those questions are to answer, the less secure the recovery process. However, the harder those questions are to answer, the less likely that our players will be able to actually reclaim their own accounts through that mechanism.
Obviously we want to protect accounts as much as possible, but we also have another real concern to manage, which is helping players get back into the game as quickly as possible. Account recovery has been carefully designed to be generally secure (in terms of the questions it asks) while still being effective for as many players as we can help.
The combination of serial code and character name has proven to be a very effective balance for meeting these requirements. Keep in mind that unless you are being very selectively targeted by an attacker, the odds of them knowing your character names and serial code are extremely small. Account recovery is secure in the face of anonymous mass attacks based on stolen password databases and so on.
At some point we have to draw the line. There is no conceivable set of hoops to make you jump through in account recovery that could not be compromised by a suitably dedicated attacker. The fact is that protecting your account is a cooperative effort – we are happy to do everything we can, but there are also steps that individuals need to take to protect themselves.
Securing your email address with a unique password is a good first step. (And I don’t mean just “password123” instead of “password” – something totally unrelated to your other passwords is a good idea.)

We had some player reports of issues with making purchases using PayPal. The team examined each case and found the PayPal does not have an overall issues, but is blocking some purchases. If you find you cannot purchase the game or gems through PayPal, please get in touch with PayPal and ask for an explanation.

Just wanted to jump in and say: posts that are well-written and constructive are a HUGE help. I realize that sometimes people get upset, and I honestly don’t mind strong language if someone is voicing an opinion different from my own. As long as both sides are passionate (which may lead to some strong points of view) but still OPEN to opposition, threads are a great way to come up with solutions.
And yes, I know that the reason you guys are SO strong in your posts is because you love the game and want it to improve. So while I may disagree with someone’s point of view, I can often still think, “Hey, this person is really enjoying the game, and they want it to be even better than it is. Due to this, they’ve gone to the forums to try and reach out to others in an effort to fix an issue they hold dear to their heart.”

As I’ve said in other posts on the forums, we are watching, even if we can’t post in every thread. We are working to fix bugs for ALL classes, Necromancer included. I’m sorry we can’t do everything as fast as you’d like, but GW2 is a massive game!
We may not agree with every post from every poster (and, as you know, you often disagree among yourselves) but these forums are still a great tool! We’re here, we’re listening, we’re just also super busy trying to make this the best game possible.

They only work on creature kills, chests however have a better table then normal kills. We wanted to avoid the game play of killing a boss and then having to equip your whole Magic Find set before opening the chest.
Also magic find is calculated from when the creature is killed so it’s also not viable to use your normal gear set kill a boss then switch to magic find.
I went back again and tried entering it manually and just realized that the code changes quickly on the app. I was able to link the account successfully.

I did. ANet’s Customer Service “unflagged” my account so that I could purchase more gems. Here’s the deal: Each time I make a $50.00 USD purchase in the Gem Store, ANet flags my credit card. The next time I try to make a similar purchase, ANet turns it down since they flagged it after the last purchase. Because it was a failed transaction, my credit card company also flags it and then my credit card becomes unusable. So, each 50.00 purchase results in my credit card becoming flagged both at ANet and the credit issuing company. I predict that this is going to have to change on ANet’s side of the transaction, because a tremendous amount of revenue is being lost and there are undoubtedly going to be a lot more purchasing opportunities in a month for the next holiday events.
That could be what is happening, sure. But what I’ve learned in investigating these situations is that it’s often the reverse order: The bank/CC issuing agency blocks the purchase, then unblocks it, but with that block, our security elements kick in, and it’s a circle that sometimes is best addressed with a call to the CC company rather than to us.
Having said that, since you’re discussing with Support, and since they can review your individual situation, I feel sure they’ll work with you and make the purchases possible.
I am very sorry that you’re having this level of frustration, and we really do want to make it easier and more pleasant for you to purchase gems! Thanks for sticking with us, despite the hurdles, and thanks for your support of our game!

In general, named NPCs in a story step will revive you IF they’re not in combat.
The event will continue to run every 30-60 minutes all day long.
(Sorry on the original timing # misquote folks got confused and have now clarified the timing for us.)

The ability of purchasing all those Halloween items will be gone, yes, but of course players will still be able to use what they bought any time. Also, you will be able to get them from other players in the TP. The rabbit ears and aviator caps will not go away since they are not Halloween items.

sometimes it is a matter of the in-box, that it is full of messages and therefore your purchases do not arrive . On other occasions, the objects arrive with a little bit of delay. We ask you for a little bit of patience in this respect and if you finally do not receive anything in the following hours, proceed to write a ticket to Customer Support.

There is no such a “memory function” at the moment and therefore, you cannot replay a personal story instance. You can reformulate your message as a suggestion in the Suggestion subforum, should you feel this needs to be improved. 
Do I need to redownload/reinstall GW2 for new computer or can I just copy the files from my old hard drive?
