I can’t speak for art, but if you wanna see an epic sweet big coat for LIGHT armor, the GW1 HoM light armor reward is pretty big and coat-y.
Hey there, thought I’d come weigh in on this.
First, sorry you’ve had such a rough time with Arah. It’s a long and tough cookie to crack, but it can be done. RoRo has good advice: step back and reassess the situation. Define a leader. Build a strategy, and execute.
Now, you brought up a great concept for the DR system rewarding unique boss deaths. While I certainly don’t like to jump the gun on making claims, our next patch SHOULD include a newly developed reward system for people who couldn’t make it to the end that should alleviate a bit of this “walking away with nothing” feeling you have.
Personally, I love that my content kills players and challenges them. I feel pretty kitteny though when my content beats someone into the ground and takes their lunch money. I at least want you to walk away with something more than a repair bill and some random blues, and folks here are working on that very thing.
That being said, our next patch SHOULD contain some revamped loot drops from bosses that have the chance of giving small token rewards (among other things), which should help alleviate that.
One token to rule them all.
Any character to find them.
One vendor to bring them all,
And in the forge bind them.
The main problem we see with a universal token system, is that players will find the easiest dungeons they can do within the DR system’s influence range, and just do them over and over.
It would be like if people could use all their CoF tokens from the speed/exploit clears, and buy up Arah Dragon armor. Were that the case, the armor itself would have no real value behind it. When you look at a player and you see a full suit of dragon armor, you know that they did a certain thing to get that armor. With a universal token system, you lose that sense of knowledge of what another player has gone through to get what they have.
Please create an option to disable/scale down the ip authentication.

The disappearance of the slider to control asura head size in character creation and the resetting of asura head size to existing characters are both bugs, and related to each other. This has been covered a couple of times, though I can’t find one of the other threads now. Anyway, the “survivor” achievement (which didn’t quite work reliably) was replaced with a to-be-announced achievement that’s tied to the upcoming October holiday content.

Well the bug or problem is…. Anet is too thankful
I did a purchase gems to Anet this day 8/31/2012 and all good no problem !
but I keep getting spammed for the Anet bot with the Thank you for your gem purchase!
it doesn’t bothers me but im talking since that day about 120 emails and like 6 or more emails every day with the same email !!!!yes Anet I understand ! u are indeed so thankful but please stop it ! :p

I have the same problem i get at least 5 emails a day… since i place a purchase back in 8/26/2012 it’s annoying.

That does sound like a backend software bug with the script designed to send out that email. There is not much you can do except create a filter in your email to throw those into another folder
Oh sure there’s something they can do: let us know about it, which they did. We’ll dig down and try to solve this. I mean we are grateful but we wouldn’t want to drive you nuts with too many emails.

First off, I had to disable the email authentication system because I wasn’t recieving the emails anymore. I kept on trying to change the password for a week before it was hacked, but for some reason the new password would never work. Now I got my account back after being hacked and everything was gone and I started getting gear and weapons back the past few days trying to keep a positive attitude. Now my account has been banned for modifying the account, 2 days after I regained control and I can’t get any info out of Arenanet. What is going on? Why can’t I talk with somone one-on-one to actually resolve this issue?
You are talking to someone one-on-one when you submit a ticket. Those folks are not auto-respond-bots or drones — they’re human beings reading the ticket, assessing the situation, figuring it out and responding to you.
Please continue to work with the team. If you still need help after three days, post in the “Tickets for Review” thread in the sticky-thread section.

Yes, it made me feel cheery at least.
BTW I did report my first bots yesterday. I wasn’t completely sure they were bots, but since they ran in circles and had names like “asfsfs” I figured they might be.
If you’re submitting a ticket, hold down the key to display names and send that with your ticket. We <3 getting names to research!

TL;DR summary is: the 10/1 update changed the end game rewards to include 3 random green/yellow items, and a token that can be given to the Pact supply officer in Fort Trinity for a unique item. As of right now, there IS a bug, where the Pact officer is only available during the celebration story step, he’s intended to be available at all times once you’ve finished the story.
Are you filling out the report box that comes up when this happens? Those reports go straight to the appropriate teams to review, so sending them with detailed repro steps is the best way to report crashes.

Looking at these grenadiers they are indeed using a high modifier than was planned, I am currently working on reworking this area of this dungeon and making a few tweaks to some other areas of it as well.
Unfortunately due to how our patch process works, these changes will not make it in for several weeks.

And also, let me note, it’s not like DR is a default setting that we have to work around. It’s a system that is specifically and carefully coded for each unique place that it is being used. Real effort has to go into putting in DR on something.
There was a bug that put a hard limit on the number of items displayed while browsing categories in the Gem Store. That was fixed today. Sorry for any panic caused!
It’s not really a reason not to have it in the Mystic Forge. It’s more the reason why we never needed to ask the question “should we have DR in the Mystic Forge or not”.
Good point. But that still means there could be a glitch that shouldn’t be there. Unfortunately this is really bad time to buy large scales so I’ll have to wait before I can record my findings on… a large scale.
But like I said, we looked into it and there is no bug. The systems are so far removed from the DR code, it’s not remotely possible that they are touching in any way that could allow for DR in Salvaging or the Mystic Forge.
I want you guys to think about this a bit. Seriously. Why would we ever want to systematically discourage you from chucking things into the Forge or salvaging them as often or as fast as you want to? It is SO SO SO (I can’t stress this enough) important for items to be leaving the economy at a healthy ratio to the items being created and entering the economy, otherwise, there would be no economy. Everything would pile up and pile up until everything was worth nothing because the supply would be endlessly higher than the demand.
Bottom line, DR systems exist to prevent players from generating too much currency and destroying the economy. Why would we have DR on the things that balance and fix the economy?
There a simple answer to that last question: to limit income of new items/resources to players via Mystic forge. By your own logic: less items – healthier the economnomy is.
I suppose that is a fair enough point. Though then I would ask if that works when it also has the side effect of causing people to stop using it altogether.
Anyway, my personal logic for why DR in Salvaging and the Mystic Forge isn’t the point. The point is that it just plain is not there. Intentional or not. It does not exist.
It’s not really a reason not to have it in the Mystic Forge. It’s more the reason why we never needed to ask the question “should we have DR in the Mystic Forge or not”.

I just walked over to the programmer who implemented the DR system to ask if there is ANY way that there is some hidden bug that could be causing DR in Salvaging or the Mystic Forge. We discussed the way the system works and I am here to assure you all, that this is not possible. There is no hidden bug. The DR system does not come anywhere close to the Mystic Forge or Salvaging systems AND there certain triggers that are required for the DR system to kick in which simply can’t possibly be set by the Mystic Forge or Salvaging.
If we had DR in Salvaging or the Mystic Forge, we would tell you, just like we told you about the DR in other areas of the game. But for the sake of argument, let’s assume that you just don’t remotely trust what we say, and let’s look at this from another angle.

Can "Armor" please be separated into Light, Medium and Heavy Armor categories?
