A 1/5 chance at winning is not a gamble. It is a waste of money.

Moa races need more. It is incomplete. They are as much fun as flipping a coin, or rolling a single die, in other words BORING.

We need statistics. Some birds should be faster, but wear out sooner. Some birds need higher endurance, but lower top speed. Some birds need more sprinting, with longer cooldowns, while others need less sprinting. Etc…

These statics need to be shown before each race, and can be read by the gambler, so a decision can be made.

Of course there will always be a side of randomness, but people do not go bet at race tracks because they have a 1/10 chance. They bet at race tracks because they have information that might lead to a win. We currently have nothing, and it currently is a terrible game.

If Moa races remain how they currently are, I and thousands of other players will be extremely disappointed.

Keys should be 25 gems. Maybe less.

Opening 550 chests could net you around 100+ more keys. I’m sure someone could give a better statistically accurate number since there is a percentage drop on wiki, but I’m too tired to do the math :P But those 100+ could net you say 20 more keys as an example. Depending on RNG and your luck you could almost double this number, never know :P Also keep in mind I did say you could save the gems for later, later includes using them during a time when keys are discounted

Thats not the point. Why would Anet let chest be so common while the keys are so expensive. It’s like, they WANT to take up our inventory, because OBVIOUSLY we’re never going to spend that much gems to open them all, its insane, the rewards are pathetic.

I have 3 tickets. Probably around 100 crates opened from general play and some farming.

It’s really too bad these aren’t transferable. I hate the skins. I can’t imagine someone wasting hundreds of gold or real dollars on them.

This bug has also ruined Mesmer’s underwater trident.

With 3 clones out, sharper images, and sigil of earth, I used to be able to maintain 25 stacks of bleeds on a target. Now its wildly random, sometimes 8 stacks, sometimes 20 stacks, and anywhere in between, and it all depends on positioning of the clones.

Its completely broken.

Champion Reef Shark; does not drop loot

A small chest spawns on the boat after you kill the shark. I think it stays for a few minutes and anyone can loot it (making it possible to open if swim by after the shark was killed) and then it disappears.

People miss this chest ALL the time. They kill the Shark then just swim off. Its like the big Harpy meta-event (sorry I forgot area) that ends with you killing a champ Harpy Matriarch in a cave. She also spawns a chest near the center of the room that everyone forgets about if she is pulled to the front or sides.

Oh I guess that could have happened. In my experience, the chest has always been there. This includes times when no one else is in the area farming and I was there solo (and the champ shark icon is on the map swimming around to the east). Perhaps there are two chests, one permanent and one that spawns after the champ?

I know of a permanent chest on a boat, west of the Champion, its guarded by 2 veteran sharks and an aggressive hermit crab.

So it sounds like there ARE two chests in the area.

I thought all veterans and champions were supposed to drop loot now? I’ve killed him around 5 times without loot, no one else that helped received loot either.

I think the Champion Reef Shark missed the memo.

I enjoy farming as well.

Sometimes I dont want to group up, do events, read dialogues, get stressed out popping all my cooldowns and dodging my kitten off to stay alive.

Sometimes I just want to roam around killing things, and selling the loot I get. Whats wrong with that? It’s relaxing.

I quit farming the day I noticed I was only getting one tier 6 mat per 2 hours.

Unless you have a serious bug with your loot tables or you refuse to rotate somewhere else when DR kicks in, I don’t see how this can possible. I never spend more than 30 minutes at Pent/Shelt at a time – and that’s the only farming I ever do in this game – and I get four or more T6 mats from bags every time. And most of the time I’m not even running MF food/buffs.

If Gatrix was talking about t6 mats that drop directly from risen mobs, and not the ones that come from the heavy moldy bags, it’s possible., they don’t drop them very often.

I’ve been farming in orr, frostgorge, and southsun for a while, and what I noticed is you’re far less likely to get a t6 mat drops from mobs in southsun, and frostgorge than risen mobs in cursed shore. But it’s not an issue since risen mobs drop loot bags.

The unfortunate thing about t6 dust is..

What do you do if you need powerful blood? farm karka, skelk, arctodus, or trolls

What do you do with you need vicious claws? Ice colossus

What about vicious fangs? Skelk, or arctodus

Ancient bone? Corrupted quaggan

Armored scale? barracuda/sharks in frostgorge and southsun

Elaborate totems? grawl in forstgorge (never framed this so not sure how good it is)

Powerful venon Sack? Reef ryders. (never farmed this, so not sure how good it is)

Crystalline dust? Loot bags, or sparks, and from my experience, Sparks have a pretty crappy drop rate of these things, a lot of them spawn in annoying areas, and there spawn is tied to whether certain temples are uncontested or not.

Ancient bone from corrupted quaggen, vicious claw from ice collossus. This crap doesn’t even make sense. Why can’t risen drop ancient bones? Like back in the day, it would make sense wouldn’t it? Why does Anet kitten everything up.

I want a legendary.

I want to gather everything up on my own. But Anet keeps removing my ability to do so. I farmed the skelks, yes, for bloods and fangs. When I hit 250, I would move on.

I dont want to run CoF path 1 20,000 times, I don’t believe a legendary should be about gold earned. So I highly disagree with running CoF for straight cash.

I honestly don’t know where to go next to finish my T6 mats. It seems Anet removed every way of getting them. Even recently I went to do some events in orr, did about 5 events in a chain, didn’t receive a single moldy bag. Seriously, how the kitten do we do this without buying gold or running CoF?

Will exotics drop after Last Stand ends?

Changes to ecto salvage from rares

I figured I’d add in more statistics too. Before the patch, my friends/guildmates documented (via excel) 1455 exotic items salvaged, all with black lion kits. The results looked like this:
26.46% 3 ectos,
37.93% 2 ectos,
13.6% 1 ecto,
21.99% 0 ectos.
Yes I know this isn’t the largest sample size, but I’m just sharing the results.

After the patch, we had a much larger decrease. This is with the same parameters as above, except only with 98 exotics (exotics are expensive for the sake of math/science):
0% with 3 ectos,
26.37% with 2 ectos,
24.17% with 1 ecto,
and a whopping 49.45% with 0 ectos.

Once again, low sample size post patch, but the sudden staggering rate of 0% of 3’s from exotics, coupled with an almost 50% 0 ectos rate with a BLK are hard to ignore. Using the percent of 3 ectoplasms per exotics before the patch in our data, the chances of getting 0 in 91 is 1.2591762e-12, which is one trillionth of a chance (assuming no change as stated, and that my math isn’t off). Once again I know this isn’t the largest data sample, but the overall numbers are still disheartening.

Well that data is pretty convincing.

I’d advice anyone else not to salvage their rares and wait until a fix. Because this is definitively a bug. There’s seriously no arguing against it.

My farms havent been nerfed at all. In fact last night was the best farming night I’ve had so far.

But then I dont farm Young Karka… that’s not even close to efficient when there’s skelk, sharks, and barracudas.

With mesmer I’m killing karka in less than 3 seconds, It’s very very efficient.

Because it is. One bad day means absolutely nothing.

Okay, even not counting the suspected drop rate. Several spawns completely removed, the rest spawning at a much slower rate, it’s definitely a nerf.

At least 4 young karka spawns, maybe more have been removed from the north side of Southsun. And the rest spawn at a much slower rate, I would say nearly twice as slow as they used to.

I also suspect the rate of powerful blood drops has been decreased as well. Typically I’ll get 5-6 bloods in my first 30 minutes before DR sets in. Today I received 1 in an hour.

All these undocumented changes are extremely annoying.

And don’t say it’s RNG. I’ve been farming there nearly every day since the 200% MF was added, I had it down to a science.

Just goes to show Anet does NOT want us farming.

Have a friend that yesterday salvaged over 100 rares, with a return of ~50% ectos. This is exactly what everyone else has been reporting.

Looks like ecto rate has gone from 0.9 to 0.5, pretty obvious change.

The world map stutters A LOT, its impossible to zoom in and zoom out smoothly.

This was a problem I used to have several months ago but was fixed in a patch, today after the reset it’s back.

Anyone else have this issue? or have a fix?

Do people actually use the default key bindings? Whoa.

A,D = strafe left, strafe right
Skills 1,2,3,4,5 = CQERT —- Its soooo nice just hitting C with your thumb instead of reaching for 1

Heal = 2
Utility 1,2,3 = 345
Elite = 6
Dodge = mouse thumb button
Profession skills (virtues, attunements, etc) = Shift, capslock, 1, ~

With a setup like this, there is no reaching, no looking at the keyboard, able to hit multiple buttons at once or in rapid sequence.

To OP: I’d recommend changing the title to “key bindings” instead of “combat” since we all know the combat in GW2 is extremely smooth, compared to most other games.

During the event, if you’re not already inside the walls, you can get locked out, the doors will not open, preventing one from participating in the event. Also, if you’re inside the walls during the event, the doors will also not open, preventing exit.

This is on Dragonbrand server.

The damage is the total damage. Aka
1 Illusion: 570 =570 per illusion
2 Illusions(2x): 760 =380 per illusion
3 Illusions(3x): 1000 =333 per illusion

Okay, that makes a lot more sense. I wish the tooltip was more clear.

I thought damage scaled up with more clones? In my recent testing, the more clones out you have, the less damage of each mind wrack, the highest damage coming from a mind wrack without a clone (illusionary persona).

On the tooltip it will say something like (depending on your stats):

1 Illusion: 570 =570 total
2 Illusions(2x): 760 =1520
3 Illusions(3x): 1000 =3000

Meaning, the more clones out, the more damage each will do, right? According to the tooltip, total damage will nearly double from adding another clone. Well I I’ve been doing some farming recently and watching the numbers.

These are crits, without any Might or Vulnerability. These are very consistent numbers, all on the same mobs:

0 clones = ~1600
1 clone = ~1400 x2
2 clones = ~1200 x3
3 clones = ~1000 x4

This is completely backwards from what the tooltip says. It should be the other way around? With 3 clones out, they should be doing the most damage, and with 0 clones out, the least damage.

Is this known? am I losing my mind? Is the tooltip wrong? Am I reading it wrong?

I’ve got to agree with the bulk of the posters. If we found this on one of our servers, a zerg would be formed with the express purpose of stomping every single one of you.

You want to duel? Grab a PvP arena and knock yourself out. An out of game “gentleman’s agreement” has no place in the mists. You’re taking slots from people who want to be there to play as intended.

The “bulk of the posters” aren’t against this. And go ahead and try to stomp everyone there, it won’t work.

This game is about playing the way you want to play.

The torch from TA is very compact, has a very small blue flame. I think its one of only 2 torches with blue flames.

I just tried the build, because I have all rabid gear, but without your runes and sigils I just used my own.

I was successfully dueling 1v3 on several occasions, and a one 1v4, I could always juggle multiple enemies but not always get the stomps, typically a group would come by and wipe me out.

What do you think about Melandru runes and -40% condition duration food. Yes, I read your entire post and I know you favor the +40 but a big part of this build is being slippery. Combined with -65% conditions you could become nearly uncatchable.

Am I the only one with bugged T3 light?

Mine doesnt have those bugs. Might be because your Asura is skinny, while mine is pretty thick.

Also, how are your lights whitish? while your main color is red? They take after the main color right? Which dyes are you using?

What’s the “time to kill” on a build like this?

When I ran a confusion burst build the bursts were supplemented by bleeding from staff clones like this in this build. But I never killed anyone with just bleeds, in fact it would seem it would take ages to take someone down. The damage came from confusion, and the bleeds were just pressure on the enemy.

And what do you do when its 1v2 or 1v3? With multiple purges, and not much for condition removal in this build. Seems like a death sentence.

Anyone have some good video footage?

Asura mesmers look awesome. And their jumping flip dodge combined with Deceptive Evasion looks sick.

Orr could be considered raids if the events required a strategy.

At the moment the more bodies you have to sacrifice, the better your chances of the event succeeding.

Well, they went back on the thief revealed debuff last patch at the last minute so there’s some hoping that confusion won’t be nerfed.

Still a 50% reduction is far too excessive.

Yes, 50% is very excessive. If they’re going to make big changes like this that potentially break a class they need to go slowly. First bring it down by 15% or 20%, see how it goes. Or make duration longer if it’s not as strong. Or make it stack duration instead of stacking power, with a flat number of damage based on condition damage stat, like bleeding.

OR.. fix other classes instead of nerfing the good ones. Confusion is very strong at times yes, It needs to be changed NOT OBLITERATED

It burns up a fine transmutation stone.. but at least you get your runes back.

While this has been reported a long time ago, please refrain from going under the world. It kills the magic of SAB and doing so is breaking the rules which could lead you into trouble.

Now unless the area you were in was not reported way…. earlier from before, it would be okay but since Josh Formane and the Team knows about this, please avoid re-entering that area.

Confusion needed to change. The closer it gets to spvp levels, the better.

This change won’t effect a good Mesmer(Or other classes with access to confusion). It will, however, tone down the one-trick pony confusion builds that are uncatchable.

Guardian is the LAST class that should complain about confusion. Guardian has more active and passive cleansing than any other class.

If you lose that much health from confusion as a guardian you need to L2P.

Anet announced today in a State of the Game they will be reducing the power of confusion, perhaps to 50% of what it is, like in sPvP.

The thing is, yes, people complain about it, but Confusion is NOT overpowered. It’s a way to control the fight. Confusion does NOT DO ANY damage, unless the person activates it themselves. So it needs to be cleansed, or the player needs to take a step back and stop attacking. It’s a strategic condition. And the only time confusion hits in the thousands is the result of a large setup of skills that went off perfectly. Which rarely ever happens.

A Mesmer needs to utilize about 10 skills to set up a big confusion burst, which could be cleansed in an instant. Compare that to an instant, single button press, single hit, from stealth, sometimes unavoidable, Backstab for 10k . Which needs the nerf?

And right now, Confusion is one of the very few ways to actually break up a zerg in WvW.

It honestly seems like Anet WANTS massive zergs in WvW, since they keep destroying our tactics to break them up.

That being said, I vehemently disagree with this change to confusion. People make the argument that confusion is balanced in spvp, but ignore the issue that it is in fact useless in spvp. The reason you see no confusion builds there is that confusion damage is so low that it’s completely ignorable. Now, they’ve made this the same in wvw. They completely destroyed one set of Mesmer builds, severely damaged the strength and viability of most Mesmer condition builds, and strongly decreased the possible auxiliary damage from Mesmer shatter builds (all while claiming mesmers are in a good place in the actual Mesmer portion).

I really can’t overemphasize how bad of a move this is. Confusion used to be one of the best mechanics in gw2, because it actually punished poor play. Now, it is once again irrelevant. No one needs to care about the purple swirly because the purple swirly won’t do any damage to them. This was a horrible change, and I’m monumentally disappointed in the dev team for rolling this change out.

Just goes to show how balancing on the small, vocal, and unskilled population of this game leads to poor choices.

The confusion nerf is a poor choice. It makes confusion (and glamour builds) pretty much completely useless in wvw now, since confusion does effectively no damage. That being said, mesmers are far from broken…removing 1 condition doesn’t destroy a class.

Does not destroy a class no. But will destroy the very viable and not overpowered trait builds of many many Mesmer players. Which as a result could push players away from the class.
