LOL chill. Made it early so folks see the thread and can give feedback in one place instead of making a ton of unorganized pieces of info…

And yet now this whole thread is filled with unorganized bits a pieces and no actual info, so anyone wanting to post anything about it is going to have a bunch of crap to sift through before they get to anything meaningful. Should have waited until Friday bro

Support for BGDM is not being terminated,it will stay compatible with the game.
I wouldn’t use ARC since it is not TOS compliant, and it gives Anet the right to ban you for using it if they choose so.

.
The BGDM developer quit the game, if he can’t find a successor BGDM will die.

this is a very real fact that next month BGDM will die . which the BGDM developer posted on reddit about that and the fact he gave up the game . and is never coming back

now if that would only happen with ARC too . the game would be far more better with out them both . [/quote]

He didn’t quit, he got banned because he repeatedly refused requests by Anet to remove the portions of BGDM functions that were against the TOS, even after they asked to work with him so it could be done without compromising the functionality of the addon.

PoF predictions...

UnbentMars.9126

I predict that we will kill Balthazar and Rytlock will take his power to become the new god of war, Kormir-style. Rytlock clearly already knows something that he will FINALLY reveal to us as he mentions it in the trailer, and who else is kitten enough to take that kind of power (besides the PC, but we all know Anet won’t let us do that).

You heard it here first folks.

Actually, I made that speculation shortly after Episode 5. It was a little tongue-in-cheek, but I can (and do) claim to have come up with the idea long before hearing it here.

Part of the justification was that having a charr replace the god who possibly started the charr-human war in the first place could serve as a form of apology, and given the charr liking for war and fire (even if the non-Flame Charr have stepped away from that a bit, they still appreciate its practical applications) a charr who’s demonstrated an ability to cooperate with humans would be a fitting choice. It’d also be a way to troll the Flame Legion by having a charr god of fire who isn’t one of theirs.

I honestly don’t understand this western-type apologetic mindset. There seems to be a fixation with it – and I don’t really see why it should be part of a game.
A game – that as far as I’m concerned – shouldn’t try to appeal to the latest “cultural trend”.

Why should you apologize? What for? We all try to become great and in the process come into conflict with others. There’s honor in fighting to claim greatness.

What kind of mental gymnastics do you have to do to get to the ‘hurr durr appeal to the latest cultural trend’ out of that?

Well – I’ve seen the latest culture trend of apology-inspired “let’s not offend and let’s make everything alright for everyone” which I think is an attitude that permeates throughout a lot of the US.
Why would you ever apologize to your enemy? Humans and Charr aren’t friends – they’re allies out of necessity.

Well – you’ve seen what you are looking for. What’s wrong with not offending people?
Going out of your way to offend someone is what most people call ‘rude’ and ‘unnecessary’. The rest of us see an ever-increasing refusal to apologize for anything even if you really should. The Charr and the Humans were enemies, now they are friends/allies and both sides have several places in Core Tyria (personal story, events, hearts, random NPC dialogue) where they explain valid reasoning behind both the apologies and the importance of the friendship/alliance more than just out of necessity.

Feel free to run around explaining to the NPCs why they are wrong, I’m sure they’ll see the error of their ways and start fighting other friendly NPCs.

PoF Demo - Feedback

I just pre-ordered PoF after spending 10 minutes in it. I quit because of HoT. There was just nothing in it I wanted. This demo is what I wanted back in 2015 out of an expansion. It looks great.

My feedback would be this: Are we going to get guild halls that are less tied to HoT? I just went to my guild hall for the first time since HoT came out and SO much of it “requires HoT”. Would be really nice for players who just aren’t interested in HoT to use their guild halls to full potential.

Great work so far on the new expansion though. It has me genuinely excited for the first time in ages for one of my favorite franchises of all time. Consider the Guild Hall stuff though please. Enjoying a guild hall shouldn’t require specific content in my opinion.

There’s a new guild hall for PoF

Example: I think Palawa Joko will be fought but not completely beaten during the personal story and then finished off in a raid.

Could we get some NEW Dungeon Content Please?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: UnbentMars.9126

UnbentMars.9126

If I remember the announcement correctly, ANET stated that they were abandoning dungeons because creating 3 paths and a full gear set for each one was too time-consuming and they’d rather focus on other things.

That’s fine and all, but it also assumes that there have to be 3 paths per and a full gear set. Frankly, I’d absolutely love some new dungeons without full new sets of gear and just 1 path. The issue I have with fractals is that, to date, they have not been used to keep up with current content but rather rehash old content or follow a side-along story that misses out on a ton of potential.

The reason I want dungeons to come back is because they make a great foray into some stories/lore/what have you that fractals can’t reasonably touch. I’ll give you some examples:

They’re greedy and lazy end of story. Everything being mentioned here could have been done. The work certainly has been done. Go to the gem store. Go to the Black Lion Exchange. Look at weapon skins. Look at the amount of Outfits that have been released over the last three years.

Break those up by armour pieces and just give them exotic stats. There’s the dungeon sets we should have been getting. And see, they’re still releasing new exotic/asc stat sets. You just aren’t able to earn them from dungeons.

The truth is they wanted to take content that could have been earned through game play and shift it all to the gem store. If you want the outfit- gems. If you want the weapon set either gems for keys then the gambling game of chests for scraps/tickets, or gems for gold for skins sold on the exchange. They still would have made a goodly sum from selling transmute tokens for new dungeon sets from skinning and reskinning as not everyone plays WvW. But that wasn’t enough.

It wasn’t balance. It wasn’t quality of life.

They’ve abandoned their mission statement. Players -many players and guilds- have abandoned this game(include disillusioned wvw and pvp veterans), and so they want/need to make up for that shortfall by driving gems sales on those still playing.

Raiding and fractals are one of the ways they do this. Just as in World of Warcraft -or any other mmo with a raiding/heroic instance(fractals ARE mini raids) scene- those whales truly dedicated to succeeding and succeeding first rely on having best in slots and on heavy use of consumables.

Food and oils/sharpening stones, item crafting, they all take expensive materials to craft. If there’s one thing players know about gw2 it’s that Anet has gone out of their way to eradicate farming spots by either removing reliable spawns or by making the percentage chance for certain items to drop so insignificant that farming is a wasted effort. And yet – those commodities never seem to run out on the exchange. They’re only pixels after all. Consumables and the scenes that lean heavily on them drive gems sales.

In world of warcraft to keep guilds in flasks and other consumables many top guilds simply went to gold sites to keep themselves stocked. Those treating raids as competitive games modes burned through tons. Yes, once everything was on farm it relaxed somewhat, but for those pushing after world firsts, or just guild firsts every advantage counted -they still do.

Many of the top guilds back then loved to lord it over other guilds when asked how they managed it during rows between casuals and raiders by saying, ‘What- we have lives. We play less than you. We only play ten hours a week tops. We just make them quality hours.’

Which was steaming pile of lies back then and it’s still a steaming pile of lies today, but Blizzard allowed it and allowed them to not be banned for the carnival shill factor of having them set in capital cities with their loot on display in order to drive interest in the game mode. It worked. How well?

So well that they had to come up with account authenticators. Why? Because of course giving your payment/account information to third party sites who probably load your pc down with spyware/keyloggers when you go to buy gold from them are going to attempt to steal your account- after all they DID/DO sell characters/accounts as well. But what a difference a decade makes!

Now most games attempt(not altogether successful) to cut out the third party currency/item brokers by having in-game currency shops provided at launch. All about the money.

So the next time you get the itch to post here about dungeons, take a deep breath or ten, say to yourself, ’won’t happen, it’s all about money.’ And just try to do something more fun than cobble together a post that’s going to get you ridiculed here by the holier-than-thou crowd.

TLDR; It all comes down to gems sales. For the amount of loot dungeons gave(even with the need to farm them for tokens) they just didn’t drive gem sales enough to keep Anet in the black once they drove the majority of the gw2 player base away.

You’re absolutely right. God forbid ArenaNet need to make any kind of money?!?!1? They should provide this basically free content and not want any kind of income! The devs should be thought of as doing charity work, and charity means unpaid! How dare a company want to stay in business!!!!!!

It’s pretty funny you decry the “holier than thou” crowd when you are so clearly high-ranking among them.

Thaumanova Fractal boss teleporting at 50%

You know you want to tell us

Yeah…

Finally figured it out. The bug was hilarious but too technical to explain. Fix incoming.

Try us. Im sure it will make for an entertaining Dev blog.

OK fine.

So I started by looking at the anomaly’s creature script. The fact that this was a consistent teleport at 50% made it seem like it would be an easy thing to track down, and the creature script was the likely culprit.

The anomaly had a script handler listening for it to hit 50% health. In this handler was a call to teleport it to the center of the map, presumably the designer who originally built the anomaly put it there as a safeguard, but it should not be needed. I figured, “maybe the teleport is failing and picking the wrong navmesh?” so I just deleted the whole handler.

The boss still teleported at 50%…

OK so it isn’t the creature script, so I looked at everything referencing the anomaly with regards to its 50% health threshold, and the only thing left was a map script. This map script did nothing but set a trigger, but there was a handler listening for this trigger that fired a skill at the feet of the anomaly “Unstable Matrix”, which is the skill that targets everyone and makes platforms fall.

This skill is not sourced from the boss, since the boss is doing his own thing at this time. Instead, the skill is sourced from an invisible, unattackable gadget that spawns right at the feet of the anomaly. These types of gadgets are called “skill launchers” and are used in places throughout the game, though we try to avoid them these days as they have a tendency to be buggy. For instance, until last year, some player skills such as the revenant sword 2 would randomly target these skill launchers, and players would see their projectiles flying at invisible objects.

All gadgets in our game have flags that define their behavior. Skill launchers were properly flagged to be unattackable and non targetable, but I discovered that they, hilariously enough, were not flagged as “No Collide”.

The skill launcher at the anomaly’s feet was colliding with him when it spawned. And when colliding gadgets collide with a creature when they initialize, they “Eject” said creatures, causing them to teleport to nearby navmesh. The reason the boss would teleport back to the center at 25% was because of those teleport safeguards on the creature script. But of course the next time Unstable Matrix fired it would teleport back out.

Flagging skill launchers as no collide solved this bug (and probably some elsewhere), and then Bill fixed some issues that could cause creatures to teleport too far away when ejecting, as the anomaly had.

Ben, has anyone ever told you that you’re great and we love you? That is a hilarious bug, thanks for taking the time to explain to us! I hope that solving that issue helped fix some other things elsewhere since that lack of No Collide seems like it could have far-reaching impacts

Generic "Should I play again?" Thread

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

UnbentMars.9126

Hi all i am a returning player as well and i hate to jack this thread but i feel it would be better then making a new one. I have only been gone for 4 or 5 months but it feels much longer. I play this game for the PVE and i would like to hear peoples opinions of the last 6 months. When i left i felt like i was just logging in to do my dailies. I even tried raiding and i liked it but i couldn’t dedicate a certain day to raid due to my work schedule. So unfortunately that remains out of reach for me. Any suggestions where i should start again? (I have been logging in to get the living world story i just couldn’t play it due to lack of willpower something i shouldn’t need for a game that i like)

PVE has improved by leagues, here’s a list of my thoughts:
Content is way more repeatable with more unique rewards and challenges than the entire base HoT expansion combined.

The raids are a ton of fun, but are also such a small portion that if you never touch them the only thing you’ll be missing out on is the experience, but they are so far from necessary to do that it’s nothing to worry about.

Builds haven’t changed much, but once PoF comes out the available variety will more than double so there will be a ton more room for experimentation.

The new maps are just as good as the HoT maps (though many people think they are better), incorporating the lessons learned with HoT and the good things with the map-making strategy that Core Tyria had and the 6 new maps are very different to one another. Personally, I could bounce between those 6 for a long time and not have much of an issue with it. They don’t have quite as many events as other maps, but they are content-dense and are varied enough between them that it’s not an issue at all (they also are not nearly as challenging to navigate as TD or anything, they are similar to AB in terms of navigation).

I’d recommend starting with exploration and story. The new maps offer a ton of stuff that is a great reintroduction to the experience of running around a map looking for things, each one has a ton of stuff to just find and a lot of mobility options utilizing the masteries, both old and new.

For other PVE content, the new fractals and the revamps of some old ones have really brought the standards up, using some new tech and abilities from raids, as well as offering challenge modes if you really want to test yourself. I love the new ones personally, though to be fair some people are salty because you can’t just faceroll through them like you could on the old ones. This one is much more of a personal taste, but if you like challenging group content without the need for 10 people, fractals will be a great option (and ANET has added new rewards, both in drops and for achievements).

The reason I want dungeons to come back is because they make a great foray into some stories/lore/what have you that fractals can’t reasonably touch. I’ll give you some examples:

A path in HoT that follows up on Malyck and explains where he went/wraps up his story likely as an end boss or maybe even a sylvari from a different tree that did not turn with the rest of his ilk because of his previous interactions with the sylvari player character before Mordemoth woke.

A path in BSF that follows the actual Lazarus that the White Mantle snuck out when the PCs were fighting Xera, maybe culminating in some information that would have given us some indication that Lazarus was not the real Lazarus (a missed opportunity since it’s moot now, but just as an example of the kind of thing that could be tackled in dungeons rather than fractals).

In Siren’s Landing a dungeon where you focus on taking out some Risen holdovers from Arah, maybe a sort of return to Arah years later to see Orr’s recovery as well as what has happened to the more powerful Risen now that Zhaitan is gone (some local leaders arising after reclaiming a bit of independence, eyes of zhaitan and such).

In upcoming maps, I’d rather fight Palawa Joko in a dungeon than in the story. I think it likely he may end up being fought in a raid, but such a storied character would be great as an antagonist in both a dungeon and a raid, the dungeon as an introduction to the types of abilities he uses and then the raid as an expanded, more difficult version. Another option would be to have a dungeon where you attack a fortress Joko owns to kill off some lieutenants prior to the raid scenario or whatever, have an assault-style instance.

See what I’m getting at? Fractals focus on past events or things unrelated to the current story whereas dungeons are an excellent vehicle for some stories that weren’t able to be touched on or fully told in the main story.

As for not being lore friendly, every indication is that they are given that you have to progress through the story to unlock them and they are local/native to the area.

That said, as literally none of us have played any part of the new expac, your assertions that they aren’t lore friendly and are game-breaking are no better than conjecture, so stop trying to pass it off as fact.

FYI, meta builds do 30-40k dps on a stationary target that doesn’t hit back. Even "realistic " dps on the golems is unrealistic.

Example: on the golems I pull an average of 33-35k with my condi elementalist. On VG last night I pulled a consistent 18k and was the highest dps in my raid. We beat it with a minute to spare

FYI, “meta builds” (or at least the DPS ones, e.g Tempest) can realistically pull 40k on VG and 30k+ on other bosses too.
But it also depends a lot on the buffs and strategy.

Condi Tempest can realistically pull more than 30k on VG as well.

Sources please; can’t find anything over 30k burst right at the start that peters off down to low 20s later in the fight

The state of the raid meta

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

UnbentMars.9126

A small counterpoint:
An optimal condi ele build is no less braindead than any FA build or power staff build that has dominated the dps rankings for the past year for elementalists.

As an elementalist main, I actually think that condi ele is harder than both. The reason I think that is because in FA or staff you have room for defensive utilities and are able to stay at range to keep you safer and give you more room for error. The new condi build leaves absolutely no space for error as you have no room for any defensive utilities or talents and are required to be up close and personal at all times.

The rotation itself may not be very difficult, but it’s not less complicated than most of the other builds, and actually has a high degree of risk associated with it since ele’s were already the squishiest class in the game.

As another ele main, I disagree. FA or staff builds are a LOT harder. Staying alive is really a non-issue. If anything, it’s only ever an issue with staff, because of Meteor Shower rooting you in place. Staying up close is a non-issue. You always need to be there or lose a major part of your healing, boons and subsequently dps. On top of that the condi “rotation” requires much less attention, therefore letting you focus more on what happens around you, meaning it’s easier to stay alive. On top of that, it is more forgiving, you lose less dps from mistakes and there are fewer mistakes to make.

Maybe it’s down to individual playstyle, but I have never had an issue with vulnerability in an FA or staff build because I can safely distance myself. Any issues I have with the Meteor Shower root I’ve always dealt with by simply teleporting while casting. I have a much harder time with the new condi build because consistent dodging in melee is a challenge in the group melee of fractals and some raid bosses unless you have flawless vigor generation.

I can agree with the issue of mistakes being easier to correct, but only in the case of minor mistakes. a major mistake in condi means you are dead whereas in staff I typically have arcane shield on my bar or some other oh-kitten button that there simply isn’t room for in condi

Range is an ele’s best friend

If you want to lose a major part of your damage output. Ranging can keep you alive – for some time – but will also make you inefficient. In fractals you can generally burst down everything.

True, but if you have trouble with that (like OP is discussing) then it’s better. Dead = 0 dps

1: I think both of those builds are actually in a pretty good place. Both classes already suffer from extreme squishiness, ele’s especially as they have a harder time disengaging than a thief does in the first place and as I outlined above have absolutely no room for anything defensive or mobility-related on their bars. High risk should absolutely generate high rewards. Personally, I think ANET should use those two builds are dps benchmarks to begin tweaking other classes up to rather than tweaking them down any further, but if people are willing to play glass cannons like that they shouldn’t be punished more.

2: I would not balance the game to favor power over condi at all. At best condi should be SLIGHTLY better than power, at worst they should be equal. Power is and should be for more easily sustained direct dps, and as such is capable of jumping right in at max power/bursting. Condi requires a bit of a ramp-up and more difficult maintenance, hence they should be rewarded for maintaining that. Don’t make the mistake of believing that proper balance means everything should be equal based on just dps, you also can’t forget the greater context of the class and the sacrifices each has to make to be effective at a role.

3: The support trinity of druid/chrono/warrior does not need to be changed, other classes need to have options that make it so they can be safely interchanged without sacrificing the integrity of the supports that are effectively necessary. That doesn’t come from nerfing the original 3, it comes from giving other classes access to the same boons/same amount of boons.

Example: ventari revenant can now provide alacrity, which is a step in the right direction towards allowing for more party flexibility, but it cannot yet provide enough to put it on par with the chrono. In order to open the gates for the flexibility you want, ventari rev should have more alacrity generating capabilities to make it a viable option.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I believe much of this will come with the next round of elite specializations. The current issue is that the existence of only one elite spec for each class pigeon-holes everyone, but once more options are available that will open it up for ANET to truly specialize them. Example: Reaper was supposed to be slow-but-heavy dps with some tanking options, but people ended up using it as a condi booster instead. Once the next necro elite spec comes out (which is rumored to be heavily-condi based) reaper will now be available for ANET to move towards what it was originally supposed to be.

4: Currently roles are dps/tank/support. Support falls into two categories, boon support and heals support. The decentralized nature of boons and healing in GW2 lends itself to a unique experience where there is room to create multi-purpose builds. I would not create new roles, but instead expand the abilities of classes to provide those multi-purpose roles that have been very successful.

Example: Chronomancers are hugely popular because they provide alacrity/quickness boon support as well as being the ultimate tank, PSWarriors provide dps and heavy boon support. Instead of breaking up those duties (which would result in effectively a copy of every other MMO that uses the holy trinity), expand the abilities of classes to provide something similar. Ventari revenants are a good first attempt, being able to provide heals and boon support, but should really be improved in order to compete.

There are already plenty of builds like this in the game, but heavily underutilized because they simply aren’t as effective as the chrono/druid/pswarr trio. Simply buff those other builds and then you will have many more options open up. Examples: boonshare eles already exist using warhorn, simply buff might generation and they will be on par with PSwarrs. Buff Ventari Rev alacrity buffs and streamline their healing and they will be a viable option instead of druids. Give quickness generation to a currently unused class, like engineers or guards, and suddenly you have a potential tanking alternative to the chronotank

What weapons are you using? Range is an ele’s best friend, so if you are using dagger in your main hand you may want to consider switching to a scepter or even a staff as both will keep you farther from harm.

Staff in particular has a number of defensive options (fire 4 as an example) that gives you an extra, very long dodge backwards, which you can pair with defensive utilities like arcane shield or teleport if you find yourself needing to move long distances quickly.

There are also some defensive talents you might take, but room for them is heavily dependent on your build. What build are you running?

for those concerned about BGDM and the like, they can only show your dps if you have it downloaded. I don’t use it, so my data is not provided to other users as per the TOS it cannot read other players data.

Also, if I did use it it’s because the goal is to improve MY dps in a real scenario. If you aren’t interested in improving your own dps then thats fine, just dont expect others to suffer through a failure because you dont want to improve yourself and we’ll all get along.

Question about 2nd elite spec.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: UnbentMars.9126

UnbentMars.9126

They already explained somewhere that we will only able to use 1 of the pool of available Elite Specs at a time. Less variables to control, easier to keep balanced, easier to make more, horizontal growth.

However, they also said the Elite Specs weren’t supposed to allow power creep, they should have been only new choices, equaly viable than the base Specs…

The issue is that everyone has a varying explanation as to what is viable. As an example:

A new Ele spec might be good for control and boonsupport, but it’s damage is subpar compared to Tempest and its boonsupport is not quite as powerful as phalanx. People immediately say its not viable because its job can be done by a PSwarrior even though there’s comparatively little difference.

A new Mesmer spec may have drastically higher damage than chrono, but if it can’t provide alacrity/quickness generation then no one will bring it because alacrity/perma-quickness is considered so necessary for proper raid composition (assuming no other elite spec will have gain the ability to provide it and as much of it)

A new Guardian spec is optimized for healign and its healing/protection output puts it at the highest for group dmg mitigation and total healing specifically for raids, but if it doesn’t have some kind of ability that adds ~10% damage like a druid, people won’t consider it a viable healer.

On paper and in actual usage, they may be equally viable, but in terms of the methods by which people use them, the comparative ease of use, and peoples perception, its inevitable that some options will never see use outside of personal preference. Great balance helps with that, but at the end of the day the only way we will see multiple “optimal” compositions is if at least one or two specs can offer the same things as other classes original elite specs.

(SPOILERS) quick Lazaraus speculation

in Lore

Posted by: UnbentMars.9126

UnbentMars.9126

Hello Everyone.

I speculate that “Lazaraus” is one of the human gods, either Balthazar or Kormir.
The reasons below are why I believe so.

-“Lazaurus” uses “Divine Fire” magic as well as the support skill “Divine Blessing”.
• I may be wrong, but we currently only know of the human gods and the forgotten using divine magic.

-Balthazar is the God of war, so I would think that he would be best in helping start a war between Primordus and Jormag.
• He may be more willing to help now with the death of 2 Elder Dragons

-Also, I highly doubt any human mortal would be able to survive absorbing immense amounts of magic from a blood stone.

You say speculate, but since the new LS came out today I really don’t think that’s speculation

How would you rank the new maps so far?

in Living World

Posted by: UnbentMars.9126

UnbentMars.9126

1: Doric’s Lake has a lot to do and a lot going on, the “battlezone” is a fun style and I appreciate having so variety.

Complaints are that the hearts take waaaaaay too long to complete, and the skirmish events should occur more frequently and in more locations

2: Bitterfrost Frontier is a fun map, I love the forest portion for so many reasons. I wish the Ley Lines were a little more useful, but its not that difficult to get around. The day/night cycle is a fun meta event and the rewards are very well thought out (a nice compromise after taking away AB multiloot)

Complaints are that there isn’t more like this, honestly.

3: Bloodstone Fen edges out Ember Bay only because moving around in BSF is always entertaining. A great showcase of the movement capabilities gliders afford and a great medium between the multi-level stuff of Verdant Brink and less complicated maps

Complaints are that there’s really only 3 events of note (jade, hab, and the bloodstone monstrosity thing). I don’t think much more could have been fit in since its a small map, but it still feels kind of bare

4: Ember Bay gets a lot of crap, but I actually like it. It’s nice to have a map where you can truly run around and explore little unused niches. The motifs are nice and the decoration is a little monotone, but still impressive considering it wasn’t worked on for all that long

Complaints are that the events are very sparse. The mobility around the map is superb, but it would be nice to have a little more density in terms of events in between the main ones. The hearts are in a good place, and the estimated time to completion is just about perfect (Doric’s Lake could have used some inspiration from this). The biggest issue is that there’s very little replayability after having gotten everything you need from a merchant. The events aren’t very challenging and map rewards are lacking. Additionally, it’s far too easy to miss out on an event you need because the map is so large (i’m looking at you destroyer). Speaking of events, the health pools vary so wildly between them that it really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Destroyer has so little while Jade Bow has so much that you miss one and the other takes way too long to complete.

Back in the day, like 2002 in very early internal testing, the hit box was not standard, and one of our clever programmers made all sorts of tiny characters to enable him to avoid getting hit.

I do wonder if certain races actually do have greater agility for jumping puzzles. I’ve had people say “Make a norn, they have a better gait” where others have said, “My asura is way better at JPs than any of my other characters” and everything in between. Think there’s any truth in that?

For me, Asura is best for any JPs because it is a smaller size and therefore doesn’t interfere with my sight lines or camera as much. Trying JPs with a norn is awful, specifically in anything with a low ceiling because it screws with the camera

La fractal

UnbentMars.9126

Why not make a “fractal set” of raids? Single boss raids and such that wouldnt fit anywhere else and dont fit with the ‘raid story’.

Examples:
LA fight (since that fight would be wasted on a group of 5 people)

Marionette fight from living world days with 2 people to a lane or something similar (would help make room for different build styles since one healer cant do everything for groups that are split up like that)

Take on bosses that work for fractals (going back into the past to fight enemies and whatnot) but 5 people wouldn’t do it justice, like fighting Shiro Tagachi or Abaddon or something like that, or even do Glint’s ascension challenges

Hell, a raid version of Jade Maw where you chase it down after the 5 man fractal group defeats it and it runs away.

More, depending on imagination and opportunity.

Since its a single boss it would also take less time and resources to make, and could even be tuned to a bit lower difficulty than regular raids so people would have a bit more of a stepping stone to raid environments
