The main issue: players want to farm

Someone suggested in another post (not going to look for it),

Tie new skins to DE’s throughout the game through some sort of currency+crafting mat only obtainable from very specific zones. Granted, we now have many currencies already, but with the wallet in place we could actually have a few more. The largest problem with currency before (imo) was that it took up bank space.

Example:

Complete a DE, earn a token. One token per DE per day. Character soul/bound
xx amount of tokens +xx amount of crafting mat found in that zone =skin
Zone specific skins.
Can earn a full set in 2-4weeks.
Make them prestige items, req= lvl 80.

That gives 80’s something to work for. I think something along those lines would get 80’s into zones doing DE’s.

I personally only ever farmed in other games to craft items to sell. Crafting in this game is so hard mainly because of T6 and lodestone requirements. Snake eating it’s own tale(and tail) here. Mats are hard as nails to get to craft with any frequency, gold reward is slow and low, so if you want a skin you have to find rewards for time put in that you can deal with. So that you can buy mats to craft with any frequency. So my focus is earning gold to just buy items I myself will use.

Thus, I hate crafting in this game and other games like it. Farming in many other games had mats that would drop quite frequently so that the only reason to buy items from the auction houses was that there was a convenience. “I don’t want to farm or take the time to craft so I’ll just buy it”. Here, farming for the materials by themselves(mainly lodestones) would take forever. So, what do I do? I find a farm to make gold to just buy the item outright from someone who farmed the gold just like I did to craft an item. Now I can sell the item again at a later date trying to make a profit or I can use it.

So wait, Keg Brawl isn’t in hoelbrak anymore? The only mini-game in since launch. The only mini-game that has a tutorial. This one should have been left alone.

Rotate the other mini-games, sanctum sprint/crabb toss/Aspect arena(in a new arena ofc)/some new take on Reapers Rumble or snowball fight/dragon arena. Why is Southsun Survival even on the menu when Evon lost.

Why purposely go out of your way to kitten people off? I don’t get it Anet. It’s the little things that start to add up.

It has come to my knowledge that a friend of a friends uncle heard from a coworker that one of his friends were eavesdropping in some pub on a few cats that they heard a story that a few skritt employed by Ms. Kiel stole ballot boxes and changed approx. 3mil votes.

This same friend of a friends uncle also heard from another relative that they personally were paid to enter in votes from dead ascalonians, dead krait and many names held by thousands of fallen who are now in fact a part of the Risen army.

We have been duped by a clever gal, not unlike the time we were duped by some lame who was in fact some super powered dead Lich.

I’m not for or against, but if it’s something Anet cannot do due to some mechanical issues then no biggie. It’s not game breaking. Added, no one is forced to use staves or greatswords and hammers. I get along just fine using them though. Probably a non issue for me.

Why can't everyone use all armor?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Akari Storm.6809

Akari Storm.6809

Profession stats concerning armor level should remain the same, armor skin should be worn by any.

Clipping should not be a reason to not do something concerning this mainly due to “EVERY KITTEN PEICE INGAME ALREADY CLIPS!!!!” I have built most of my armor sets around two things:
1. What looks decent for my preference.
2. Doesn’t clip but still is with what looks decent for my preference.

To date: Armor is the last thing I look for when facing an opponent in pvp. Weapons tell me more. Conditions, pets tell me more. Skill animations obviously tell all. Targeting an opponent also tells all. Scanning that way tells me how to react to a foe.
If weapons in the future become usable by all classes, I still won’t use armor as an indicator. Fights barely come down to who hit who first anyway anymore. The only class that was a threat in this manner were thieves in the first few months anyway from what I’ve seen.

I see no real problem here on the part of players. Maybe a problem on the technical end for Anet, I think players will adapt rather quickly if it were a problem to date. PvPers are a resourceful bunch imo. PvE, no problem at all.

Edit p.s. Other games have done this just fine with no huge backlash from the pvp community and certainly not from the PvE communites, from what I have seen and can recall anyways.

Orr dead everywhere? Legendary options?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Akari Storm.6809

Akari Storm.6809

Yeah, personally I think people started leaving in droves from Orr when a few of the constant events were nerfed. CoF p1 went into full effect for many just after AC was redone. CoF was done before then, but AC (and Orr for open world) was the alternative.

Alternatives just revealed themselves after the nerf. Hoepfully the upcoming fixes will bring more players to many areas that have low pops at any given time. Especially once skins are created per area (if I read the notes correctly). I think players who traverse the open world now are just spread out now to all areas and not funneled into one. I myself once liked Orr, but simply don’t go there because I like other areas better and don’t have to be in Orr to get what I want.

Do Legendary User Impress You?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Akari Storm.6809

Akari Storm.6809

Do users of these items impress me because they have them? Not really. I think it’s more because I’m numb to idea of seeing them I guess. Rare items in this game and many other games just don’t have that whoa factor for me anymore. Been in this genre way too long to be impressed by such things.

When I see rare items nowadays it’s more of a “would that item look good with a look I’m going for aesthetic wise”.

It really has nothing to do with did that person purchase this item or earned it in any particular way. For this game, I actually think most people work for legendaries. Someone is crafting them for sale, so I know some work is behind them. The user:
1. Built it himself
1) Farmed the gold to buy mats and precursor
2) Bought some gold with real cash to buy mats and precursor
3) Farmed Badges and tokens and completed exploration 100%, Farmed Karma among other things to gain skill points and obby shards.
4) Farmed mats

2. Bought the Legendary outright.
1) Farmed gold for it via events/TP/Dungeons/Drops
2) Bought enough gold to buy it outright (Do not believe too many have done this, because that’s not some cheap endeavor considering gem—→gold conversion that has been pretty level since the lost shores event.

Either way, when I look at it…these items were worked for.

I have 0 legendaries currently even though I’m approaching the mats to cover 3 so far, fine mats wise. Once I actually started making clovers , I found out that process creates mats. I don’t have precursors yet for what I want, but will get them when I get them. In the amount of time that it has taken me to acquire what I have so far, I can totally see why I see more than a few legendaries 11months into the game.

These items are just a rarity grade. Something to work towards for a style you like. If you want to impress anyone beyond yourself, in a video game, maybe your priorities are a bit off. Opinion I know. Everyone doesn’t see it how I see it. I make my character look the way I want to look good for myself. These items may or may not help that, my vision.

The reason I say these items are just a rarity grade is because the majority of these items have no attached lore to them to make what in my mind is a true legendary weapon and/or armor (when armor finally gets here). When that happens, I say go ahead and make them Ultra Rare and unable to be purchased

Orpheal Orpheal Orpheal.

Bro, your post comes off as “Bossy” and “I know what’s best for the game”. On some level we all probably think we know what’s best for the game. But um, yeah…just because you wrote it don’t make it true.

You say something about about adding new weapon types later in your post when only a few lines up you talk about scythes already being in the game as a necro animation. That is an animation…to staff. Staff! A staff is a staff. Animation or not, it isn’t a scythe. The weapons you listed are all fine and dandy for the multi target weapon skills, but let me add a little something, ALL WEAPONS IN THE GAME HAVE MULTI-TARGET SKILLS. Adding a scythe or any other weapon isn’t going to change that.

Racial Elites I don’t think would effect dervish at all. The Dervish Avatars would/could mimic the Avatars from GW, becoming an actual mini version of a god. Someone already pointed out the Balthazar Avatar you change into during the priory quest…you know, the one where you kill the Risen storming the beach. Since you don’t get elites until 30 anyway, I don’t see why having being a dervish not be something attached to a dervish order storyline meant for ANY race, or at least accepts ANY race. That’s about the time you pick an order anyway. Set it up like WoW did deathknights (just not start levels at mid point), story wise.

Let me clue you in on something else, NO CLASS IN THE GAME PLAYS LIKE ITS GW COUNTERPART. So making a new class CALLED DERVISH with skills that have the names of GW skills wouldn’t be anything new. Because you know, Mesmer plays so much like a mes from GW, OMG NECRO plays so much like NECRO from GW. Oh yeah! can’t forget THIEF is exactly like a sin in every regard. The closest is probably the style of the Ranger and a basic ranger w/pet set up. Warrior probably come in a close second (very similar in most games to say the least).

I personally wouldn’t mind dervish at all. It’s not up to me how it would be done, that’s not my job. I also wouldn’t mind Rit, another heavy class (you could even make dervish heavy with decent class crafting), new weapon types of any sort be it:
Fans
Whips
Spears
Tomes
Great Axe
Mourning Star
Flails
Chain swords
Melee staves (bo)
Anything really. Wouldn’t mind new weapon skills added (which are coming) to existing weapon types. Every class getting access to weapon they couldn’t use before would be nice too.

All I’m saying is never say never, especially if you aren’t one working on the project, have no influence over what gets created at all.

GW1 assassin armor was “blech” as with most of GW1s armor. As for Charr, the new armor in the sPvP lockers still has all the problems we come to expect. Oh god…

Subjective. I happen to like many of the Assassin armors, even the plain jane beginners armor. Liked Rit kurzick 15k a lot too. Luxon 15k Necro is on par with some of the best looking armors in any game imo.

Granted, there were many armors I didn’t like at all…so guess what, I didn’t buy them.

Bring on the armor. If we could only get capes ‘n’ cloaks. Hooded robes (think sith/jedi robes) that the hoods don’t make your hair disappear and I’ll be a happy camper for years to come.

Akari Storm.6809

Good Idea, could work for bringing people in. Then again, the only game type is conquest on what feels like tiny maps. Play that a few times and bam, bored.

I mean, it’s sad when I have more fun pvping in mini games. Reapers Rumble, Snowball fight, Crab Toss, Southsun Survival and Aspect Arena all decent enough concepts to put to real pvp game types.

Death Matches are cool, but I think if players are like me, I want objective based matches. Conquest ain’t doing it.

See Victory or Death GvG, that to me is what we need. See FA/JQ, that is what we need. Conquest is boring after a dozen matches. To me anyways.

Some esport games may only use one level or map and one game type usually. Anet has a huge shot at making some fun game types while at the same time having them be very competitive.

Obsidian Sanctum with all the traps and such would be a great idea. More crazy stuff like Skyhammer. Couple these sorts of areas and maps into some sort of objective based play where actual in depth strat is involved, I think that is what will ultimately bring players to pvp.

Edit: I know for me, conquest is the main reason I won’t take the tourney system seriously. I’ve gone in there maybe 40 times at the most solo. I’d rather be in the hotjoins and play to kill instead of play to bunker.

Gates of Arah the New Lyssa

Akari Storm.6809

Point Blank Period: If it’s not open and farmers are there, you have 2 choices:
1. Guest to where there is an open Gate
2. Finish the event with your group.

If you want to finish the event to open the dungeon, who cares what the farmer wants, do it if you can. Why? It’s not a temple that has 4 other options. It’s opening a dungeon. To me dungeons take priority over some lame form of farming. So do a call to arms and open the dungeon is what I would do if I or my group had the time.

Guesting is easier though as it would possibly get you in the dungeon faster. It’s up to you and your group. Lyssa I can understand. If Lyssa farm had been Balthazar though, Temple takes priority simply because of the Obby shards.

All in all, when it comes to these things, you and what you want only matters. These players holding up events can suck it if they are impeding others progress. This is not the way the game is intended to play. They find these loop holes, anet patches them.
I’m all for farming these sorts of things, but only if it is not holding up things like Dungeons or items/progress needed.

Aetherized Sword :(

Now, they have only one option. They need to indroduce the rapier as a separate weapon type.

I support this one. I liked the rapier skin, but felt it would look awkward with current sword animations. Most sword attacks in the game are slashing (with a little thrusting to mix things up), a rapier would not be too effective if used like that, and would probably break, as they are normally used with thrusting attacks.

Tell that to Zorro.

Arrrghhhhh! I’m glad they put in more weapons, but these look extremely terrible to me. Every single one besides the six shooter.

When the items were linked in LA chat during the dragon bash AR event, the only item talked about was the Rapier. It seemed no one liked the other items. Now we are here with Aetherized weapons and again, no one likes them it seems and we don’t get the one item many seemed to want. Aetherblade or Aetherized, it’s the same in my book.

So far with the gem store armor/weapons, BLC weapons and event items I’ve liked most of them overall. I thought the scelerite weapons were ugly. Now I think these weapons are ugly. On top of that…there is a plethora of terribly bad looking armor in the game.

Pugging in this game I have come across many players who seem to want to talk down to other players in group. I insta kick them usually after the second comment. Putting up with raging in map chat I can deal with. They want to be elitist in my group, cya. It takes nothing to fill a spot. Can 4man most things anyway.

I’ve joined zerk runs, I’ve joined not so zerk runs. Honestly, my mind goes off timer when I enter dungeons so being fast or not means nothing to me. Even though I often may run bezerker(because I have learned to dodge better and have learned to survive with it), I won’t join a group that ask players to ping gear. That right there lets me know what type of mind set for gaming you have and I don’t want to deal with drama in a video game from people I don’t know. I’ve been through two real life wars, don’t need drama from some person who couldn’t punch himself out of a wet paper bag.

OP, My Mesmer has a set of CoF armor and I think it looks fine. I don’t wear the helm though when I do put it on. Subjective is subjective.

In all honesty, let the speed runners have their groups. I don’t see a problem with it. They aren’t the only groups going around. Start your own groups, run with guildies. I do both. I do like to pug though…adds a set of unforeseen challenges I’d like to think.

Well, considering the fact that world completion gives only two gifts of exploration, I see no problem with having them be sold on the tp. Remember, to craft one of these things a player had to: 1. Get world completion
2. Farm Badges and Tokens
3. Farm/buy gold to buy mats or farm mats
4. Spend gold at one time or another to level crafting to 400
5. Can’t forget how precursors work
Only a dedicated player would be able to do all of the above in a short amount of time to do it several times, why should that player not be able to sell his work? For every Legendary crafted, someone put in the time.

For every Legendary bought, the buyer has also put in time or real money to support the game. They are only skins. Be glad Anet didn’t go ahead and say that you need 10k achievement points to get a mat needed or something.

However, if you’re talking making them account-bound after equipping them on a character of yours, I’d be for that. Would save a transmutation cycle and fine trans stone.

I wish they had a system like in GW1. You buy a weapon, equip a weapon. It only becomes soulbound after customizing it to a certain character for a damage increase, otherwise you could use the weapon on any character or resell it.

I agree, more serious weapons. I do like how they treated Twilight and its counterpart.
One Light Weapon/One Dark Weapon/One Other Weapon (could be silly like the moot or serious like eternity).

I want some information/lore about each new item (old items also). Even weapons at karma vendors with the little inscriptions have more lore attached to them. Ascended accessories have the same thing. Ascended more so because of the naming the item policy. What I want are books or clues around the world that tell of this items existence.

All in all, whether you bought or built…the creators and the buyers probably put in similar work. With how much gems convert to gold for a very long time now(probably December), and how much mats have stayed pretty steady since about a month after the lost shores event, I’d say you overestimate how many have spent REAL money on these things.
Not that many on the TP anyhow. Many have none.

500 AP for GW1 Hall of Monuments Intended?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Akari Storm.6809

Indeed Lisa. He pretty much summed up why GW2 even came to be. It’s not so much that GW2 is a new game, but a continuation of another, but like each campaign in GW, is a stand alone product. These games are indeed linked. This account name is only this name because of a character in GW. If you were linking accounts from there to here, you had to use it. That is how the legacy worked.

Think I can count on one hand how many MMO’s have even had something even remotely relatable to having a true sequel. Um EQ I guess, Um Lineage. Asheron’s Call. Final Fantasy in name right? That’s about it.

That’s what new players to this universe don’t get. Anet basically handed gw1 players a closer stance to the next chest.

I would say eliminate the achievement portion of the leaderboards, but no one cares about them anyway…probably like one of those ancient laws still in effect because it take more effort to remove than to just let it stand.

I want players to fast forward 2yrs from now.
1. Every player who is playing now is playing then.

A new player comes along. That player will never see the top 100. That player may never see the top 1000. Why? Because you have dailies that give ap and you have temporary content that gives ap. A new player will never be able to(lol) compete.

This is not a competition folks. If it were, there would have to be something like seasons and not having one time events that give ap. There would have to be caps and who got to what first/second/third.

I have said it before. Leaderboards should be about in depth stat tracking to show what kind of player you are. How many times you beat a certain boss(shout out to WoW’s system). Weaponmaster stat tracked. Slayer stat tracked. The FPS Battlefield 2/2142/3 and probably the upcoming 4 each have this sort of thing telling other players what you like to spend your time doing.

What you may or may not be good at yet.

This leaderboard says absolutely nothing. All it does is tell others that you have been around the game. I don’t need to see a player with 11k to tell me they have done some things in GW2. If I cared that much about it, I think 3k would tell me that this player has done a few things.

I’m sure if anet felt this was a competition they would have done things differently. There are no winners here. You don’t get any recognition for being first on the boards. No titles. No in game advantage. You aren’t popular. You aren’t famous. There’s no prize money. You want to be competitive, that’s what pvp is for. Why is this even an issue still?

2nd….. bugged out after a patch/now 2 slots to dye
3rd…… Fixed/ 3 slots to dye
4th…… bugged once more (for some time now, for multiple updates now)
2 slots again.

Bright red daggers on boots makes it hard to choose colors you may want so I suspect that for many, they just don’t wear whispers items because of this. Sucks, hope they fix a bit faster for all the players it effects.

I personally own the boots and shoulders since like last September and have never worn either. Someday, but not today.

Magic Find users: What would you like to see?

I foresee a trade system.

Gear with magic find will be made inoperable. Everyone gets reset to zero. You invested into gear with MF, you got some work out it. Now everyone is back at baseline.

Trade in gear of certain tier with any of equal tier.

Blue any MF————→Blue any stat combo available
Green any MF———→Green any stat combo available
Rare any MF————→Rare any stat combo available
Exotic/Ascened MF—→Exotic/Ascended any.

1 set per character per day for 24hour consumables. Make this new consumable cheap to buy at a fixed price (don’t make it food/potion), have it stack with food. If it’s at a fixed price won’t make every piece of MF gear currently on tp skyrocket and players won’t stockpile these items on 50 alts just for a consumable.

Violin Instrument

How about adding content for us to play instead of buying instruments on gem store?

It’s buying things in store that allow new content to be added. RL cash via gems supports this game.

Game sold over 3 mil, think that’s enough for new content and what we got? only fractals half a year ago. Im not paying them more so they add mini jumping puzzles and create more miniatures…

Don’t mean to put you on the spot or anything, but um…yeah, have you played MMO’s in the last 10-14years? Just wondering because I have played many and I’m going to go ahead and say that this game, for being still under the year mark has put out just as much stuff (if not more) as any other MMO on the market…ever.

Whether or not what they have put out so far is good enough for you/I/him/her/them is all subjective. TBH, many games receive NO updates at all…so.

On topic: I would love a violin. It would be sweet if they gave these musical items their own window with all the notes so no need to button press switches for higher lower octaves. Bring up a window like the wvw window or the spvp window. When that window is open..your skill bar is locked. In the options menu I would put a third pane for button mapping for instruments.

I’m going to go ahead and say that everyone wants these pieces to be dye enabled. PWEEZE ANETS! LET UZ HAZ THE GREY BE DIE abLE.

Actually, I dig both looks…radiant more so. Would be cool though to not have to wear white or silver/grey to have them match anything I would pair them with.

Upcoming Ascendant gear

If they come out with more Ascended gear they’re going to be losing a bunch of loyal customers. A whole lot of people like GW2 because it was advertised as not having a gear treadmill. There was already a sizeable backlash when they introduced Ascended jewellery, and I think I saw somewhere that they said they had reconsidered and don’t plan on adding any more gear treadmill.

Putting my money on that number of players being much smaller than you think.
Besides, nothing in the game requires it (beyond the ar).

I think the biggest concern was among the WvW community. But as we see now you can get the trinkets and backs by other means, not just grinding fractals.
I dunno about you but I have been in large and small clashes in WvW with characters at cap and characters rising to. The experience doesn’t change a whole lot because I threw on some exotics and some ascended items. Trust me, it’s cutthroat up here playing for SoR.

My eyes are wide and my ears are ringing. Seems like most of the bases I think about were covered. Pretty good news mostly from where I stand.

Pixel^, I was thinking I was going to do the same thing, craft a celestial mf set. With this change I’m not sure I’ll go that route…however, who knows when the change will go active.

My concerns still stand though when it comes to ascended gear and fixed stats, just didn’t want to see the rune/gem/sigil system be compromised by having fixed stats.
Right now it only effects backs and trinkets(every combo still not in), so not a huge issue atm. Does set a precedent in my mind though.

All in all, great news. Wow, now I need a drink…it’s early, but it’s happy hour somewhere.

How many characters do you have?

10.

5 80’s.

Trying to stomach leveling the other classes not via crafting.
2 humans, 3 norns, 2 charr, 2 sylvari, 1 asura.
Classes doubled up on=guardian and ele.

Not getting any more character slots until:
1. Need more space.
2. More races/classes are released.

First 5 months played my own personal trinity most often: Thief/Guard/Mesmer

Last 5/6 months: Pretty much stick to guardian more so than the other classes just because of how versatile they are. Guardian to me is Guild Wars 2 greatest achievement to how much and how long they have been in a great spot balance wise. Nothing op about them, even the underpowered stuff isn’t really far off.

Survey: Remove Achievement Leaderboards?

I personally don’t care for the achievement part of the leaderboards. It doesn’t say whether or not you are good at anything but time management and goal completing.

Before it even went into effect I was hoping that pve leaderboards were just going to be a stat tracker you find in shooters like Battlefield 2 where it tracks total kills, total kills w/weapon, total kills with vehicle or point captures or demo kills. Things like medals earned (most had to be under certain conditions) and their totals. Then favorite weapons and such or map most played.

Instead we get a point total. I honestly don’t care if it gets trashed or scrapped as it means absolutely nothing either way. What I don’t understand is why folks in that other thread even care about them so much.

Nvm, I’ve thought it through…down with the leaderboards!

Tweak to info concerning Dungeons.

I think the additional info to many of the achievements is great. Things like spvp showing how much points per tier for each tier towards a title and now knowing how far to the next tier in WvW. What I am still missing is info about dungeons.

I would really like to know what characters have done what, what paths…story and explore. The only way to tell if my character has done the story for each dungeon is by walking up to the door. If you could include this info in the dungeon pane, that would be great.

I always think more info is better. Would definitely help as the character list grows.

Not that serious since we are already approaching the year mark shortly and I have done alright in that time. I started keeping a spreadsheet, but wouldn’t mind an ingame version. Just a quality of life suggestion.

500 AP for GW1 Hall of Monuments Intended?

Akari Storm.6809

The only leaderboard things that have ever mattered to me in any game are things like feats that can be bested.

Overall PvP rankings.
PvE timed challenges.
PvE challenges that can only be completed under certain circumstances. (Like WoW raiding first or I remember when in WotLK killing Sarth and his drakes).

I also don’t mind statistics being tracked like in shooters.

Knife kills, mine kills and other particular ways of killing opponents.

These leaderboards are a joke.

Hardly any of the pve achievements say you are decent at that aspect of the game. Most of the ones that do can be and have been exploited to death except Mad Kings Tower. The WvW achievements are just time based. Coming from SoR OP (i’m there too) you may reach a title faster than most if you put the time in.
I’ve seen you OP in spvp hotjoins (necro right?) so I know you at least dabble in pvp. I’ve seen you on the WvW portion of the forums. How can you even call meaningless ap competition and be serious about it?

I mean really? The majority of ap tells me one thing-that you did this one thing at least once. Doesn’t mean you are skilled at it. I mean c’mon, dailies count.

I’d gladly turn over the ap for a legendary, jus sayin.

The only part on the leaderboards that actually mean something beyond doing something in the game at least once or killing 1000 drakes are the pvp leaderboards. That actually carries weight. That actually says “I was a piece in the winning strategy”.

If pve had timed challenges, or do such and such under certain conditions then maybe ap gained from those could carry some weight, with me at least. That to me is competition. But if you have a million and one static feats that have no real skill required conditions besides maybe the tiny easily obtained ap feats in fractals (all of which I do believe can be exploited) or something like in the aetherblade retreat, then anybody can be there up on the leaderboards with a little effort. It was a dumb idea anyway tbh.

Oh yeah, being on the leaderboards doesn’t even make you a decent player. I suck at jump puzzles, just because I have the ap from them doesn’t suddenly mean that I’m “SUPERJUMPINGPIMPWHOCANJUMPJUMPITYJUMPJUMPANYTINGOMGWTFBBQSHOUTOUTTOJBEIBER” king. Hmm, is there a title for that?

GW 2's Chris Whiteside on living story

My personal opinion, sounds great for the sub 1-2year mark. This content story wise in the way they are doing it evolves the world little by little.

But when its time to release content on a larger scale (I’m thinking new continent to play in and not just one zone at a time), you are going to have to use an expansion model. Tyria currently is large, but simply not large enough. It’s too bad many like myself already know of the many zones in Elona and Cantha.

I just don’t think a zone for each remaining dragon is going to be good enough. We still don’t know what happened to the gods. Turmoil is still happening on those other continents we’ve played in already and I know players like myself want to know how we can help. Expansions usually provide many zones to mess around in to get a better glimpse of whats going on in a certain realm/reality/landmass/continent/planet.

MMO players (that I know, that I play with) usually believe that more is better. The bigger the area of play the better. If Southsun was an indication of how new zones will work, one at a time here and there…I just don’t think it will be enough…long term anyways and doubly so for me because I have experienced Tyria (the continent) twice already. Now and 250yrs ago.
