It could definitely be an ISP issue, but when it only happens under circumstances (say, Stonemist castle fights), or if the game has no such issues outside of wvw, the game was working fine before an update, that could be signs that we can’t just blame the ISP or computer.

Basically, more details are needed, if you have any.

The only class I haven’t gotten to work post stability change is warrior which I’ve played a only a few hours since then. I’m just not quite sure what to do when balanced stance gives a measly 5 stacks. Maybe use dolyak signet, or do I just have to hug a guardian for stability? Maybe mobile strikes to break immobilize?

Granted, warrior is no. 7 for me, so my experience is very limited.

Exploits are exploits, regardless of workarounds. Two different issues. While definitely, there are many other more critical issues, people certainly have a right to voice their disapproval.

We have destroyed it before, but it certainly doesn’t mean it deserves to be in the game.

When Will We See Another WvW "SEASON"?

in WvW

ArchonWing.9480

Well, i have to admit this is where experiences differ. I was actually pretty impressed at how many people showed up to help with the previous season, but that might have to do with the matchups being close. Definitely, there was some degree of fatigue and people who just got the stuff and left, but I know of quite a few people who wouldn’t have entered wvw otherwise.

Lion’s arch not being megaservered (and I think the cities as well) has been something I’ve expressed a desire for. But it really depends on whether or not they want to keep the server system as is; though I suppose a lot of folks think the current system is broken. And of course, this also ties with the “full” pve (but not wvw) server issues as well.

Why did you stop WvWing?

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

I’m still playing, but I do recognize a number of problems in this thread.

  • Hacks/Exploits. A lot of people have been noting all kinds of exploits and the current way of reporting is very difficult especially if you can’t capture everything on vide.
  • Stagnancy. We’ve been playing on basically the same borderlands and EB forever. Yes, they’ll be adding other stuff, but the base remains the same; I think we really need a map pool
  • Unfair/Unfun matchups.
  • Imbalanced gameplay. The complete lack of dedicated wvw balancing has taken its toll. This also falls under “general wvw neglect” Examples would be the ferocity and stability changes, which regardless of validity seem to not take into account wvw. It is true that wvw is not meant to be balanced, however, certain factors when severe enough can detract from gameplay.
  • Poor rewards. Especially for defending. My joke is that the more valuable you are to your server, the less you get rewarded.
  • Transfer issues, especially the very bizzare full status as a result of megaservers.
  • Lag, lag, lag
  • Lack of competitive feeling/actions do not feel meaningful. Arguably a general problem with Gw2, as this feeling has expressed by people in all game modes. There also is a feeling that numbers dictates gameplay.
  • Power Creep (Ascended gear is a small issue , but it’s already the hardest to grind it up in wvw and we do not know what we have in the expansion)

Server hate question

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

Simply put, I think it’s natural to hate people that are not in your group. Xenophobia is natural perhaps, and the faceless nature of the enemy makes it more pronounced.

It’s the same kind of cognitive dissonance that makes you think the enemy is scum for zerging you down when you’re walking around, but when you do the same to roamers, you don’t even notice it. Well, at least me.

2v1s do exist, but since this is a 1v1v1 matchup, you can’t blame servers for acting for their own benefit the most. Also, due to the nature of karma trains that will naturally gravitate towards paper structures, you may get a “virtual” but unintentional 2v1 situation. For example, let’s say the weakest server gets pummeled and all their stuff gets papered. People log on to do their dailies and see that the weak server’s side is falling apart. What are they going to do? It’s not really malicious but if you just look at MOS it seems very deliberate. “True” 2v1s as suggested above can feel extremely ugly.

But yea, I’ve heard complaints all the time when we’re being 2v1’d when we’re really not, as well as being accused of 2v1 when we’re really just doing well and a lot of our more casual players came out to karma train. There have been a few deliberate cases of targeting from our end though.

Commander focus meta needs fix

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

Note: I haven’t had the time to go everything here, but gonna leave this behind…

Again, there are just some fatal flaws which will not make it easy to implement.

The thing is, how can you gauge what kind of group “needs” a commander when servers run in all sorts of different sizes? I know it was set to 10 alive players, but what happens 10 when you have a 10 vs 9 where someone with a tag has a rather big snowball advantage? No matter what number you set, this is going to create an N-1 imbalance that would be far more severe than commander sniping.

The other assumption is that a group needs a commander. What if we have pugs who can’t afford one and all the commanders are asleep? Commander sniping hurts disorganized pugs the most, obviously, but putting them against an organized group that has the commander buff while they don’t? That would be a form of vertical progression that may not be desirable. You’re going to hurt the casuals the most when they need it the most.

I think you need to look at it from a broader perspective. Currently, the topic is too specific. You have to think about what leads to pins being focused down. What do you think of abilities like moa or stuff like infinite cc/immobilize and other abilities that can easily destroy players? If you find those things disagreeable, it may be more practical to focus on that because when we get too narrow, the solutions become too arbitrary.

Anyhow, according to my own anecdotes (and my server is a very pug and thus pin dependent server), our commander often gets shot down many times during a fight, and I’ve been able to pick them up with just some allied cover and sometimes on a ele and we have some very good opponents that are capable of strong spikes. And yes, they also can instantly kill me too, but hey, you don’t expect to walk into a warzone without taking a few bumps.

Stonemist Revamp?

SM is always something of a joke in T1 matches. No-one wants it unless it happens to have a chunk of supply in it. I’ve seen it still grey several hours after reset.

Whilst it has been the base of some really good fights, it is also the place of the most painful lag.

Just as an idea, perhaps the outer wall of SM could be made up of 3 Towers, 1 for each server. Control of SM central tower/keep would be dependent on holding ALL 3 towers.
Unless all 3 towers are controlled the central keeps gates remain wide open.
All towers are outside treb range of each other, and preferably require a decently long run to get to. Making defending all 3 an almost impossible job.

This would make SM more a skirmish point, rather than the normal Friday night 3 way lag monster.

I’ve never thought of it like that. It does make sense that SM, being so big, should be made into a more complex structure. It doesn’t make any sense that sitting in a room would make you own the place.

When Will We See Another WvW "SEASON"?

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

Like it or not, the wvw seasons were successful in bringing more people in. OP is right that providing these things shows some care is given into wvw after all.

However, the manner of how and what led to a number of problems. The mass transfers that occur as people try to stack on a winning server can be problematic and potentially unhealthy for the target server. As a reuslt, the tournaments would feel not very competitive, as it is nigh impossible (at least in the NA context) for even a match up between two tiers to be even.

So here’s a few things to consider if you are interested in another one:

Would a tournament sound more interesting if say each tournament had a special mechanic, map, or balance effects such as a handicap mechanic during its duration, such as during the sneak attack event? Let’s say they wanted to push a new feature to shake things up but for a little, or say some kind of handicap mechanic that would be tried out during it. I understand such an idea would take actual effort.

Were you happy with any of the incarnation of the achievements? I felt they were a step above the current wvw achievements (obviously), with season 1 being the best but just a bit too grindy. Season 3 was a bit forgettable though.

What would an ideal duration be, in order not to exhaust people?

Were you satisfied with the rewards? Do you think the mistforged skins and titles helped show your participation? In wvw’s current state, I would have to use participation to gauge rewardsbecause unfortunately I do not think competitive is a word that can be used, especially cross league at the moment.

Would it help if there were something like active reports on the tournament on a regular basis, rather than just a nod to the winner so people are more aware something is happening? Perhaps trusted users could provide reports and the “matchup thread” restriction could be temporarily lifted but heavily moderated [no excessive pvf].

What should be done with transfers? Would locking them for the duration be too much of a hazard?

As usual, this is not an official survey or some crap, but just me tossing ideas out there.

Huh guys you are REALLY welcome now! Just at the right time! I do hope that before the HoT release you can show a rough idea what WvW players want.

Also if you ever ask ANET for a free server-hopping account you surely have our 100% support. Everybody is biased towards the tier they play but you two must stay as objective as possible.

(Finally if I may ask something:

Please do not waste your precious time on future problems like specialisations, the new map or masteries. There are many problems at this very moment what need ANET’s attention.)

Thank you again!

Well, I also believe we should focus on what needs work now (as well as what is currently working). Otherwise we’ll get jenga design where you pile more and more stuff on a questionable foundation, and that might be a bad idea.

How To Make WvW More Casual?

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

Some games do have this feature, and we would have a slightly more protected atmosphere since third party programs like teamspeak are completely out of Anet’s control. This would be a good idea for the game as a whole.

I agree, but only if they do it correctly. Most games struggle with either players being too quite, too distorted, or too loud. And it’s difficult to identify and adjust the volume on any of the previous. And people like to shout obscenities as voice chat is harder to monitor. Sadly I don’t think it would be worth implementing a voice chat in GW2. It’s more likely to be abused than not. Don’t get me wrong, I want it, but I know I’ll end up turning it off the second someone starts screaming, and it’ll never get used again.

Newer casual/fun games don’t even offer you a text chat anymore because players will abuse it. =\

Well, moderation is definitely an issue ; due to the entire scope of the thing and I am not sure if there are enough resources for that. I suppose offenders could be muted if they get reported but you could definitely argue the damage has been done.

Stonemist Revamp?

ArchonWing.9480

Stonemist, along with a lot of EB beyond your own third are traps assuming numbers are at parity.

This is because it is only worth 35 points, 10 more than a keep , but is far harder to defend. As long as your enemy has some degree of control over their third, sm will always have holes in outer. Being smack dab in the center means it is quite easy for enemies to come from multiple approaches and a lot of resources are needed to really defend it.

I don’t neccesarily see it is a bad thing as it is still a good place to fight over as some icing on the cake and of course holding it for a bit gives you lots of mobility advatanages. But it really depends on what they want it to be.

How To Make WvW More Casual?

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

- Implementing ingame-voicechat that you can activate and deactivate on will, so pug commanders at least have a chance to commune with their pugs (who decided to activate it), especially the casual ones who don’t join the Server community’s TS. Also it would help pug-groups in PvP.

Some games do have this feature, and we would have a slightly more protected atmosphere since third party programs like teamspeak are completely out of Anet’s control. This would be a good idea for the game as a whole.

- Make scouting easier. Pugs have a tendency to run around like headless chicken, without any idea what to do. And if they – by accident – stumble over a zerg they usually don’t even report it and let it take objectives close to a teams spawn or other WP’s. To take away their responsibility to press enter and type “zerg at []”, enemy players should be visible for all players on the map if they run into a 1.2k range threshold of team-members and don’t have stealth.
You know the little green dots that indicate team-members nearby? Give us little red ones that show up if enemies are really close, and make them visible to the whole team. A player who has joined the map then can press m, look out for red dots and run to help those who are currently besieged or engaged in combat.

This is another interesting option as the minimap can sometimes be pretty unhelpful even when it comes to friendly dots, and of course the infamous vague “inc” from people often helps nobody. There’s often not enough time to type, and yes while people could do better by being on coms, one can’t force people to do that. It would at the very least make a pug group more effective without the bagel.

I congratulate you both on being chosen, thank you for being willing to donate your spare time for what will undoubtedly gobble up hours of it, and simultaneously warn you that you may need a thick skin. The last part you probably already knew.

The thing is, while your intentions may be right on the money, ArenaNet’s track record on implementing changes people ask for is not regarded as being the best, so only time will tell how many of the criticism and suggestions you may pass on will actually result in actual WvW development changes. Because we have had so little access to the development team through this forum, many will use this opportunity to shift the blame for any inaction on you.

I do wish you godspeed. At the end of the day, we all want the same thing: a better WvW experience.

Thanks. Trust me, I know of these pitfalls quite well and have expressed some of it myself in the past.

I am well aware that this isn’t magic and regardless of our best efforts there is a chance of failure. If you check out gw2score, you may find that a lot of servers have at least 1/4 their overall points not coming from PPT. This includes stuff like dolyak kills and bloodlust stomps.

These actions add up and do make a difference. Havoc parties can often acquire more points than say, a karma train zerg that doesn’t ensure stuff gets held for a tick or two.

I would definitely hope that both take into account what goes on in the lower NA tiers as well, since not everyone is in T1/2/3 nor want to be (not sure on EU but everything I’ve heard is that they are more spread out in general than here… makes it tempting but the latency would drive me insane)

Good luck,

Well, I do understand every server is going to provide a different experience, and SBI has its own rather extreme peculiarities that are going to make me aware that this isn’t how every server plays; a lot of people have been glad to find out that Anet was gracious enough to actually provide 3 extra maps that aren’t EOTM! Thankfully I do have friends IRL that do play elsewhere and we also have this forum, and there are also devs that can jump around too. Of course, if they ever decide as suggested above by Jim Hunter to let us hop around without breaking our banks, that’d be cool too. Just saying. It’d just be for “research”.

Although I would like to hazard a guess that since the two of us are t1/t3, I guess it’s (rightfully) natural to assume that our experiences are more skewed towards zerging. I’m not gonna pvf my own server much, but that’s definitely true. :p However, I would just like to put forth that I am actually pretty familiar with having only a few people on map or sometimes no one at all vs whatever the heck as attacking at the same time and generally being forced to backcap everything with a party of 2-3. Our coverage gaps tend to be pretty extreme at times.

Thanks Lord Kuru (I didn’t know the white swords thing was gonna be permanent) and Orochimaru. I think that’s a good way of summing up what I’d be considering pulling the rug from underneath us, so yes, this is definitely going into whatever report I end up sending. The state of feature testing has been disappointing, to put it nicely.

So again, I think a big issue here is not just the quality of a change, so don’t take it as people saying any of the design decisions are right or wrong; in fact we’re not even at that stage yet. It’s really the method it is deployed. I’m sure a lot of you have many, many examples, since I have quite a few in my head itself.

Of course, I do not want to be too harsh towards our developers; I think their intentions are good and they certainly have an concept of how the game should play but do take these things into consideration when it comes to providing proper testing grounds. It would avoid angering a lot of dedicated wvw fans that would gladly lend a hand to testing whatever they come up with.

Well for now all I’ll say is at least these two players actually spend time in WvW and in the WvW forums; even though they are both in the gold league.

So they should know what to expect and can handle it already.

But just remember a lot of players were not happy when all the Adopt-A-Dev scheme got was white swords and PPK, things many did not want or ask for originally based on the responses on the forums. Let’s hope we get something we want out of this.

Oh and good luck.

SBI is in silver league (un)fortunately. Due to the many unstable tiers it has passed through, we have seen a lot of what is wrong with wvw, from both ends of being the server with too much coverage and being the server with no coverage. I would go as far to argue that most NA silver servers are quite familiar with this with the infamous t3 meat grinder. It’s just kinda hard to explain to a newcomer when they go on about “how can this possibly happen, and will things be better next week?”

And yea, I would agree with you that it does feel like a game of telephone and some of the changes just do not correspond with what I see is posted on the forums. So I can try to do something in getting the sentiments around here across— at least I’m definitely aware of many issues that annoy and frustrate people at the time.

Although speaking of no white swords and PPK, it seems like PPK was well received and white swords much more mixed. At the very least if Arenanet would run more trials like that it would be a far more effective way to get ideas across as opposed to pulling the rug underneath us with permanent changes of which there’s little forewarning, of which I feel the stability changes and guard stack removal are, regardless of their actual merit.

Siege Placement in Safe Zones

ArchonWing.9480

I find it a bit disturbing that the maps have so many flaws in them. It’s understandable these things exist but they have been there for a while and there hasn’t been much feedback from Arenanet on it. The most famous flaw is being able to get into your enemy’s spawn, which is relatively minor (though golems can be killed for some reason), and then there’s this. I believe we’ve witnessed something similar and had to build an arrow cart of our own to destroy it (I’m not even sure how to aim it, honestly) and that probably wouldn’t be possible if the offending siege was manned.

But fear not; the stairs of doom were largely fixed, even though it felt like forever.

Separate PvE from WvWvW Players (Full Server)

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

So this is definitely an issue that should be addressed in one way or another. Currently the only area that gets affected by having a “full” status is WvW. Although it could be noted that the megaserver does attempt to match up with your server mates, it could strongly be suggested that WvW is really the only major area where having an association with a server plays a significant and major role.

I think this is a distinction that needs to be made here. It can be annoying to be locked out with a map and not being able to play a world boss with your friend, but in wvw, it affects all aspects of gameplay there. Indeed, I think it’s more severe that you can’t play with your friends in wvw at all, even if you are willing to pay. In the past, with the hassle of guesting these things may have had merit, but as many people would feel, it is a dated system that doesn’t work well in the game as it is.

So severs are effectively losing wvw population but the system in place does not allow them to really do anything about it. Recent fiascos include ones involving Dragonbrand (of which we had multiple recent threads about), and it appears Darkhaven also suffers from “full” as well.

Thus it does seem to make sense that there needs to be a metric to measure wvw activity on each server. But that in itself is sort of hard to measure. If someone logs in once every 2 weeks to do dailies, are they really consider active? Not logging at all, As the OP suggested, might work as well, but I would feel it is unfair for people to become disassociated with a server so quickly. I think it’s merely enough to not count them in server census so to speak.

Of course, there’s many ways to game a system, such as having blackouts or whatnot. Even basing server capacity based on rank can be gamed, and can form bandwagons, and so I wonder if whatever system gets put in place would be more opaque to prevent this sort of behavior.

Heh, truth is one people started commenting on people’s wvw rank, I thought it was pretty funny, since I thought it was regarded as pretty pointless since you can so easily inflate it by karma training whatever?

If we wanted an expert opinion, I would say qualifications are more needed, but as the role seems to require more of an impartial “reporting” stance, it’s really not necessary unless they are too divorced from the content at large. (Say, they only EOTM’d) This game has many casual players, and their experience is still relevant to the game as a whole as long as they can take in the comments and feedback from more experienced players. So that being said, I am with coglin here.

I honestly don’t see why you’d need any more than 100 world ranks to note population imbalances, blobs, pirate ships, full servers, crappy rewards, toxic chat, and the lack of incentive to defend. That’s like 30-50 hours of exposure, and I mean people play entire games in that time. These things are pretty obvious and I know a lot of people that probably don’t even have 300 ranks that know this because they log on every week or so. And judging people by AP/kills is nearly as absurd. I’m sure anyone can just grab their guardian and bloat that number fast. Now obviously such a person wouldn’t be in a position to make changes to wvw, but at least they can comprehend people that do.

That being said, I think in order to display one’s experience, they really need to bring up the situation on wherever they play, regardless if its how their group guild runs, or how the server’s pug blob is going, or the general state of their defense. Actually specific stuff, as well as the dynamics of the matchup that’s going on beyond a generic “omg they’re blobbing us 2:1”. That I feel, a lot of people, even so called “veterans” aren’t capable of doing in a more objective fashion and if one can’t do that, then perhaps they aren’t as invested in wvw as they may think to be able to understand other people’s sentiments, or they have some work to do. An understanding of these things is far more important than whatever arbitrary numbers one can throw around (and probably disagree on anyways). Though I suppose the lack of concrete stats in this game that actually mean anything is sort of distressing too. The only objective measures I can think about are people that win pvp tournaments and dungeon speedclears.

The reason I bring up the last point is the ability to filter out opinions that may be too biased or um… lacking in knowledge of mechanics itself. So, I would still concede you need to understand what you are reading to some degree, but that’s what discussion is for in the first place.

Hmm, it seems like a recurring theme through this and especially 1st season of living story is that we can’t seem to stop anything from happening; just cleaning up the mess and watch as people die. However, given how politics, corruption, and bureaucracy works this might actually have some dose of realism.

Commander focus meta needs fix

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

You cannot fix a “meta”; it is something designed by players. In this case, it’s the act of focus firing someone down which is a completely legal move that is needed to make combat viable in the first place, especially on a large scale; yes people can be nuked down; that’s just part of it. There is no concept that can be put in place that makes commanders unable to be targeted down- without making weird exceptions- why is the commander getting special privileges that would require 300g to purchase? Any fix would require inconsistencies— such as the very assumption a group even needs a tag.

What about WvW Veterans? [Discussion]

I share many of OP’s concerns. While it is commendable to cater to more players getting into this game mode, I feel there just isn’t enough substance to ensure this mode’s longevity, There needs to be more towards the high end as well. But it’s not just about rewards and stuff. It’s about communication, and I do feel the frequent WvW frequent flyers club needs more attention; as they are the ones that keep the servers active so that they are more than mere karma trains. I think many of us have been very patient, but at this point pretending the game is perfect will do no one any favors.

Please, listen and let it be known that you are listening. Don’t have to agree, just let it be known people are being taken seriously.

I just want to have a hope that in 3 years this game will still have a place for me. I’m sure that sentiment is shared by quite a few people, and we’d be willing to work together. Cooperate, not make demands, btw.

But that’s just me. If nobody agrees, that’s fine too.

Applied Fortitude and Strength to be removed

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

Well, I mean, I’ve always supported a nerf to guard stacks. My problem goes within the reasoning of it, since it is a fairly sweeping change to wvw and for it to be based around new players— it doesn’t seem to care much about the impact on how wvw is currently played for current players. The level playing field argument makes no sense to me since consumables break balance even more and there’s been no effort in that area— in fact there’s creep in that area with stuff like Sweet Bean Buns— it’s gotten worse. In any case, there has been little evidence to suggest wvw was ever designed with fairness in mind; however, if there is truly a sincere intent to put that into action, I can’t say I’m opposed.

It’s simply too sudden of a large change; I would have supported a nerf or even removal had I felt this had been a big complaint for seasoned players. But this seems like an unsolicited change. Now, I certainly do understand the forums don’t represent everyone but to me it represents a long line of questionable decisions made towards wvw that seem very rash and where the didn’t seem to consult for feedback or concerns from. This also isn’t excluding the changes that were made to pve or pvp and “leaked” onto wvw, making wvw seem like an afterthought.

And also, I did not spend points on guard stacks at first. I spent them on stuff like supply mastery and other stuff that gave a faster return; the guard stacks were just a long term goal.

HOWEVER….

Despite the negativity, if this is the start of a concerted effort to balance all 3 game modes separately, then I’m all ears. But I am skeptical.

TL;dr On the wall for the change, dislike manner of handling and the rationale behind it.

I felt the health bonus was a bit large and annoying to kill guards and I understand that the stat creep might have been a problem, but the complete removal seems excessive. And this really shouldn’t be a problem for many users that play wvw regularly enough.

In any case, this seems to be a pretty bizarre “improvement” all and all. If they really cared about balance, they would look into consumables.

Keep claiming trolls

in WvW

I think I like these ideas to be available ‘simultaneously’:
1- Up to 5 different guilds can claim a keep.
2- Claims expire for a specific guild if that same guild claims another objective (like it is now)
3- Claims expire after a certain amount of time, like 60 minutes. I think 30 minutes requires too much babysitting upkeep.
4- Claims can only be made with a buff activated.

I think no.4 is a good idea; I mean certainly it can be abused, but it is logical that you should upgrade something you claim.

Please reset our WvW points

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

Limiting the reset of wvw points to its current extent to me is pointless. In this game, it’s generally rare that you can make a decision with such long lasting repercussions. In reality, the system as is overly punitive to new players, as veteran players will usually have enough to cover the needed masteries. This really hurts the ability of new players to experiment with stuff. In particular, they will remain at a huge disadvantage until they can acquire guard stacks, whereas a silver player that is just waiting to get like, say, another level of ballista mastery is merely slightly hindered in getting a luxury. And of course, logically speaking this issue is completely irrelevant for people that have maxed everything.

Furthermore, when resets do actually happen, it becomes a mere annoyance to people with many points that they have to put everything again. So, why not just make any resets voluntary?

If the idea is that the decision should have some degree of significance, I’d agree that being able to arbitrarily reset them would feel cheesy— but why not allow a reset daily so you can’t just switch siege masteries as needed?

Level up -> full hp/knockback..

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

Actually, it’s a potential issue in pve as well. Uncontrollable knockbacks are often hindrance to a dps bomb and the less astute will always blame the ranger.

I understand it’s a cool looking effect, but the novelty wears off after the 50th time, and this mechanic really just does more harm than it helps.

In general, sometimes random mechanics can add flavor to a game, however, in this case we really don’t want that many elements that are outside player control. This is of course assuming that we want skill to be a prevailing factor, and despite this being WvW, I would hope that we could at least pretend a little.

WvW Gear, make them salvage-able!!

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

Currently, only a fool would buy wvw armor besides certain stats like zerker which are more expensive on the TP—- you can get many exotic armor with various stats for less gold then you could buy from a wvw vendor.

What do you hope to gain here by trying to preemptively call players “fools” for interest in armor outside of what you feel has value in your opinion only?

Because currently you can buy various armors straight off the tp for less gold than purchasing it from a wvw vendor. It is not just my opinion. It is the collective opinion of people that use the trading post. So I would consider it foolish though I suppose my hyperbole was to illustrate how bad of a sale it is and I do discourage buying wvw armor— zerker, knights and a few others are exception.

They want them for their gear? I disagree, but only to a limited extent. Most people I know seem to have multiple ascended sets or all the gear they need. It is my opinion that they want this as a way to turn all of those badges that are stock piled into gold. I, for example, have no real need for more gear and items, and would get no value out of this if I could sell them.

Now for those it would help, I am all for the vendor selling sigils and runes for those who could use them. It might even promote those with limited funds to try different build and gear set up.

My experience with people differs them. However, I did take into account the perspective you have expressed hence the account bound suggestions.

It's time to get rid of EoTM

in WvW

Posted by: ArchonWing.9480

ArchonWing.9480

There is absolutely no reason to remove EOTM. It has a use, and even if it differs from the use of what others want, it is irrelevant.

What is true, is that the rewards do outstrip those of regular wvw by far, so I would suggest that the WXP be nerfed but the experience rewards should also be increased greatly so it can fulfill its purpose of leveling characters. The base loot should also be boosted to compensate. At the same time, buff the wxp rewards for wvw globally.

Allow salvaging of wvw armors, however the runes and sigils are account bound after salvaging!

I think it could help the economy because it will finally encourage this group of people to create ascended armor, instead of going “screw it, my sigils are too expensive for that small stat boost”. It would also increase the value of all the materials needed to make non-zerk armor, since without wvw, it’s only zerker stats, really.

You have to remember. Why are people trying to get the runes out anyways? To acquire and put them in other armor of course! But currently ascended armor is such a small boost compared to what you invest. If you tip it in their favor a little bit, then you might find some faster damask sales. Just saying. Why not encourage people to delve into one of the most expensive gold sinks in the game?

Yep. So the only thing server matters for is wvw, yet it is based on the general population while megaservers make it hard for people to encourage their PvX population to help in wvw. Whatever though, this makes Anet lots of money.

And lol, if a 2v1, aka a normal bit of wvw, and coming in 2nd for a few weeks can destroy a server then there wasn’t much to speak of. What about those t4 servers that never stood a chance when they got tossed into t3 constantly?

It would be best attributed to the “full” status. DB needed a way to arm themselves, but were denied a way to.

It’s kind of genius, actually. If you won’t dodge, you will get annoyed to death.

Seriously though, is crippling necessary?

Getting hit enough for it to be a problem is proof enough that you might need to be taught a bit more. So yes, it’s still there to teach people to dodge because they may have not mastered it by the time they get over here.
