For the Love of the Gaming Gods, Anet, Make These Gold Ones Easier…

They already did. The adventures don’t need to be nerfed further.

In what way have they made Shooting Gallery or Fallen Masks more reasonable. In the case of Shooting Gallery, memorization, twitch skills, and luck can eventually get you Gold. But, it is still absurd how much effort is needed. For Fallen Masks, you literally can’t waste a second and have to hope the RNG Gods are on your side. If you, yourself, got Gold and claim it doesn’t need to be fixed, then you have my respect for you are more skilled than I. But, in no way can Fallen Masks Gold be considered fair for the less skilled/lucky.

  • Shooting Gallery: Added 30 seconds to the time limit.
  • Fallen Masks: Added 15 seconds to the time limit.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-April-19-2016/first#post6122828

For Fallen Masks, the trick is to maintain swiftness from the mushrooms while using the mini map to determine where the next mask. It takes a small amount of memorizing on what the optimal path to each is.

Again, I was speaking about access to swiftness. Going off on an entirely different subject with build usefulness doesn’t change that.

It isn’t a different subject. Access to anything (boons included) doesn’t exist in a vacuum. There is almost no scenario where you have full utility choices but no traits/runes.

It is. The post of the OP’s that I was responding to had zero reference to build usefulness. Please don’t bring in something that my post wasn’t event about and then use it to argue against said post. Thanks.

Since you are not reading the specific post I was responding to…

Because Guards already have a ton of swiftness applying skills.

" a ton" are you kidding me? there is actually 1 skill with swiftness, 2 skills if u have a staff….

I did read the post. Guardian may not need +25%, but SYS isn’t a reason. Which appears to be part of your argument along standing still in a symbol. Saying SYS is a mobility choice because it has swiftness is like saying rifle is a defensive weapon for warrior because it has an evade on #4.

You didn’t read the post otherwise you would have realized it was about access to swiftness. Save Yourselves has 10 seconds of swiftness thus it provides access to swiftness. Whether you agree that it’s a good option or not doesn’t matter as that wasn’t the point which I have repeatedly tried to get across to you.

I’m talking strictly about access to swiftness… I’m not talking about its usefulness for builds.

If you don’t care about usefulness of build then you can just run superior rune of the centaur, retreat, and pure of voice for 108% swiftness uptime and still have two other free utilities with no staff requirement.

Again, I was speaking about access to swiftness. Going off on an entirely different subject with build usefulness doesn’t change that.

You have Save Yourselves and Retreat. You also have a skill by using staff which stacks swiftness if you stay in the symbol for the duration. Guardians can apply perma swiftness so there’s no need. Of all of the classes, they’re one of the few that have easy access to swiftness.

SYS isn’t a good utility to take for swiftness on builds meant to be useful. Retreat craps out enough swiftness.

Can we get Quartz crystal nodes in new map?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ayrilana.1396

Ayrilana.1396

Quartz crystals, lore wise, are tied to the Zephyrites. They were the sole source and their ship crashed in Dry Top so now quartz is only found in Dry Top, other than what was sold to player’s for their home instance when they were at the Labyrinthine Cliffs. That’s why they are in little pots rather than outcroppings like other ore.

I think that lore is an insufficient justification for mechanics that lead to frustrated gamers. There’s no particular reason why the developers can’t figure out a way for Quartz to pop up somewhere else (the easiest I can think of: Skritt stealing Quartz crystals from the Zephyrite crash site and dropping them near some bloodstone dust, which goes splode-ee-ode-nodey).

However, there are economic implications of adding new quartz supplies and that might be why ANet is content with the status quo.

Without lore you don’t have world building. Sure, someday we may go to the crystal desert and find fields of quartz to satiate everybody’s desire, but it’s simply a mineral not found around these parts.

if we were only going off lore why do we have personal instances?

Lore-wise, it wouldn’t make sense to have thousands of commanders.

Just the other day we had this adventure as the daily. I played it horribly by not maintaining swiftness from the mushrooms, missing jumps, and probably had the worst of the possible sets that I could get for masks. Despite all of that, I managed to get 16 which was like 1 more than what was needed for silver. If I can play that horribly, and still get silver, then surely someone making much more of an effort can do better.

And, stubbornly refuse to give up until you do…
This is literally painful for perfectionists/completionists…
If they literally add 10 seconds, then this would be far more reasonable….

Just because you decided that they are mandatory for yourself, doesn’t mean that they are actually mandatory. Getting gold in adventures can be skipped entirely and all masteries can still be completed. No collection items require gold completion.

The same person / people who thought that platforming in the open world was a good idea to add to a MMO.

Forcing your entire population to deal with twitch-based play will only chase away people who don’t enjoy that type of play. Minigames and JP should be optional ONLY.

I don’t know. If the package requires Heart of Thorns, it should say it requires Heart of Thorns in the description. Sure it’s clear if you already know what’s what. I can see how this could confuse people.

I checked the gem store descriptions. They all appeared pretty clear to me.

The question is why is the digital deluxe upgrade for Heart of Thorns available for players who do not have Heart of Thorns.

Checked again on an account without HoT. It’s not available as I do not see it in the upgrades section.

As far as descriptions go, just refer to thew wiki.

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Digital_Deluxe_Upgrade
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2:_Heart_of_Thorns%E2%80%94Digital_Deluxe_Upgrade

They all say “Upgrade your account to (whatever the upgrade you select) and receive”. Seems pretty clear to me that they’re referring to the items only. Only so much can be done and I find it pretty difficult to add enough safeguards to prevent people from buying stuff that they don’t read the descriptions of beforehand.

And as stated by a few people:

How many Gems did you spend for your upgrade?

2000 gems

HoT upgrade sells for 2400 gems according to the wiki. The OP bought the core deluxe upgrade and not the HoT one. Evidenced more by them receiving the heroic chest which doesn’t come with the HoT deluxe upgrade.

So again, this is just an issue of someone not reading what they were buying beforehand.

A Suggestion For Raids

@Goldfox
It has been discussed multiple times there has been nothing new to add to the conversation. The raids are fine as they are, they exceeded expectations of the target audience and then some.

Raids are not fine as they are, and constant flow of new topics about them only proves that.

There are constant threads created about a variety of topics. That doesn’t mean that anything suggested in them should be implemented.

Raids were developed for those that wanted challenging content that required coordination. They were not developed to be half-kittened so that players could complete without putting much effort like existing dungeons and fractals.

The only reason that players keep complaining about there not being a novice difficulty tier (or whatever its equivalent) is because they want the legendary armor. If that armor didn’t exist then there likely would not be any of these threads.

All HoT precursors can only be obtained once. This results in HoT legendarycweapons only being obtained once. Core Tyria precursors can only be obtained once from collections/crafting. The only other methods they can be obtained are from the TP, drop, of MF.

Anet did state that they were thinking about allowing players to craft “blank” legendary weapons but no current updates about that.

Edit: The number of coins needed can also be brought down by doing reward tracks and the chest from the daily rewards at the end of 28 days.

How many Mystic coins do you get in that chest, what option do you pick the Legendary chest?

You get 7 mystic clovers from that chest which reduced the number of coins that you need.

One can earn at 48 mystic coins every 28 days guaranteed. A few more can be earned depending on how often the MF daily comes up.

Anet is in the position to have access the data. Them stating what they have stated is no different than providing evidence. It all comes from them and if one disagrees with one then they’ll disagree with the other. There is no evidence that Anet is lying.

Theres also no evidence that Anet is telling the truth.

So you automatically assume everyone is lying? Besides, any evidence that Anet provided would likely be dismissed as false by those who do not believe what Anet stated. If there’s that amount of distrust that they don’t believe what it said by Anet then it’s fairly reasonable to believe that they would likely do the same for any evidence that comes from Anet.

If you disagree with what they’re saying then chances are that you’d disagree with whatever evidence they provided.

Are you sure?
I can detect here a pattern in your rationament: If they agree with my words, no evidence needed. But if they don’t agree with my words that means they will not agree with the evidences, so, again no evidence needed.

I asked for evidences to support the words of the devs. Do you know me better than me and you know that I will ignore the evidences? You know better than me how I will think?

I see that you used the formula "chances are that you’d disagree … ". From the way you formulate your posts I can figure that you are very careful to let a door open – just in case. Your statement does not exclude the chance that I can take the evidences into consideration. But even so, you don’t bother to give any evidence.

The devs said: “There are currently more mystic coins being generated than what are being used” and you repeat this without giving any evidence. Still, repeating a thing is not equal to proving that thing.
But, a propaganda minister (I won’t tell the name and the political party he belonged because of the forum filters) said that if you repeat a lie enough times, the auditorium will start to consider that lie to be a true. Is just a matter of repetition.

Is what is happening here with the MC problem (and another few problems). ANet is saying something they cannot / don’t want to prove. And that something is repeated (without any valid argument) by all the ANet partisans :-))

Mr. Smith asks us to believe in an economical detail and he thinks he is the only smart person able to understand it. The others cannot understand. And because the others are not smart enough, the evidences are not necessary.

Feel free to dissect what I said all that you wish. Anet stating what they stated and Anet providing evidence is exactly the same. It all comes from them. If you disagree with one then you’ll likely disagree with the other. I seem to recall this happening years ago in regards to precursors and players supposedly manipulating the market. They provided the numbers and some still rejected it.

If you disagree with what they’re saying then chances are that you’d disagree with whatever evidence they provided.

This is a fallacious argument. “I say” does not equate with “I prove.”

You have a set belief on what is going on and anything that doesn’t fit that narrative you will dispute.

It takes one to know one.

There was a discussion a few months back in which Chris Cleary and John Smith posted and said that more Mystic Coins are created than are used. The reason for the price increase is what is known as a “bubble” (i.e. consumer perception of value is no longer related to actual supply or demand and is growing without regard for either). Once it reaches a popping point, Mystic Coin prices will cave quickly.

This are words. Even coming from a dev, without any evidence to support them, we have here hollow words. They said. Nothing about they proved.

I read what they said. Is more about the players behavior rather than a supply/demand debate. They have no intention to change the supply ratio for MC, but they want to change the players behavior regarding this. With other word to “re-educate” the players to think as the devs thinks. Because, you know, (I will repeat) they know better than us what is good for us.

This “educational” effort was the most intense in two social orders: The starters of the WWII (pff – kitten filter) and communistic. They invested the most effort to make the citizens to accept the idea that the liders knows better what is good for the masses. Using (along with other methods) words. Hollow words. And look at the results.

Instead of blindly believing what they said, is not commonsense to ask some evidence for that? Something taking into consideration how many MC are generated daily / how many are used / how many are needed for players long term goals and are stored / how many are used for speculations on the market? Did they make such an analysis? If YES – why they don’t share the results with us – just to support they words? If NOT – how can we consider that statement as true?

“… consumer perception of value is no longer related to actual supply or demand … " - it seems that a merely economist knows what the consumer perception is. And he is sure that this perception is wrong. Well, this is again a sign that they want us to give-up thinking and to let them to think for us. The PERCEPTION ? Is Mr. Smith a psychologist? A sociologist? Can he share with us his parameters to quantify a correct perception? And what aspect is wrong with our perception?

And maybe he can explain us why his perception is better than our?

Let’s take an example: a picture. Can Mr Smith tell us how the value of a picture is perceived by a painter and how the same value is perceived by a musician? Who is right between the two? How he perceive the same value? And why he is right and the other two are wrong?

If you disagree with what they’re saying then chances are that you’d disagree with whatever evidence they provided. You have a set belief on what is going on and anything that doesn’t fit that narrative you will dispute.

Ok. Anet can implement a feature where players can automatically buy gems at a fixed interval. There! It’s a “contract” like you stated. It won’t solve any of the issues that players have brought up in this thread though. Regardless as to which method is used, both generate income for Anet which you believe to be the issue. Just throwing money at them won’t fix what players have issue with as a lot of it is by design choice on Anet’s part.

Massive Game Imbalancement

Anet needs to direly reform and redesign their combat systems that are relevant for class balancing accordingly around the fact, that GW2 has now the Elite Specializations and that the game will receive more of them in the distant near future.

1st: The Base Health Restriction System needs to go finally. If this game ever wants to get close to true class balancement, anet needs to start finally to balance all classes INDIVIDUALLY, this includes especially the Base Health Values of every single class.

2nd Conditions and Boons need to get merged and redesigned, the game has already way too many boons and conditions, than it is good for this games combat system and the game’s performance in regard of lags and the general system of stacking of boons and conditions that make it only more complicated for the games performance due to all of the calculations the game must make every second from all the stacks of conditions and boons. The game would run much better, with an overworked boon and condition system with long lasting boons which don’t need to be reapplied every few seconds, so that peopel can focus more on the combat and not so much, on which boons they have currently on running, which in fact would strength then also boon steal/corruption builds better and make them more impactful for the game and stronger in counterplay for combats.
Same as much must GW2 get away from this tedious and annoyung condition spam.
Conditions shouldn’t replace direct damage, or be far more powerful, than fightign with direct damage. Conditions are there, to manipulate the outcome of a battle to your favor, nothing more, nothign less.
They should be also longer lasting, and harder to remove, while being also massively lesser spammy, so that playing a condition build can be also more impactful, without that you need to constantly spam your enemy full with condiotions to force them to waste the condi removals. And conditions stacks need to get reduced for PvP and WvW and get limited to maximum 10 and raising stacks in intensity should slihgtly always reduce the duration of conditions by a fixated percentage! of 5%!!

3rd Upgrades, so Runes, Gemstones, Sigils and all that stuff need to get redesigned, rebalanced, reduced/merged with Elite Specializations also being in the mind of their balancings and gameplay mechanics.

4th Get rid of the game design from Attribute Points received from equipment.
This is one big main issue, that creates in this game massively GRIND, because everyone and their mum griunds for ascended stuff, just to get perfect stats, because the largest part of attribute points you can get comes from grinding your equipment up to ascended stuff!!!

Attribute Points are something, that the player should receive AUTOMATICALLY from leveling up the character to Max Level 80 and from that point on you should be done as player with Attributes. The player should spent manualyl the received Attribute Points, then into the Attribute Lines, where the player should be able just like in GW1 outside of combat to change at will the spent points between the Attribute Lines.

5th Redesign the Attribute System in itself into Attributes with Dual Effects, where every Attribute improves two combat relevant things, because this will increase build diversity, this will equalize defensive builds with offensive builds in a more balanced way, because defensive builds would receive this way needd synergy effects to become equal with offensive builds, which profitate from stat synergies, since day one of GW2, while defensive stats currently have no real synergies at all since day one!!

6th Split finally the balancing for Skills & Traits between the games Gameplay Modes, and make Skills Traits, that are exlusively for PvE/WvW and exlusive Skill/trait effects, that are soely only for PvP… so that it finalyl stops that PvE and WvW have to suffer from stupid skill/trait changes, that were only based for PvP balancing.
With all kinds of combat system related thigns in this game beign seperated balanced with own effects for PvP, the game woudl be for everyone soooooo much better and enjoyable again, because its just frustrating when you lose ever and ver again your beloved builds that you like to pla,y for that you worked hard in the game to get them, just to get to know, that you got your beloved builds basicalyl robbed by Anet, because they changed something in general on skils,l ,traits, ect. with the only intention to balance PvP – which is a game mode, which is played by the absolute minority of this games player base.

Classes are balanced individually in regards to base HP. There’s a reason some classes have low HP and others have high HP.

No need for premium accounts. Just buy more gems. Do it on a fixed basis and there’s your “subscription”.

Sad. Again refurbished and rewarmed stuff.

Fractals based on LS1 events have been requested by players. If you don’t like it then you don’t have to play it.

Re-purposed content is great, but this is the kind of thing we should have gotten bundled together (Chaos, Tower of Nightmares, Glint’s Lair etc) months ago, and have some brand new fractals to look forward to.

Just because these share themes with previous content does not mean that they are not new. We don’t know what they’re doing with the new fractal, so it’s a bit presumptuous to assume a copy & paste. You’re also assuming that this fractal was ready when the Chaos ready months ago. I don’t know why you brought up Glint’s Lair as that was past of LS2.

Is there a time frame for the new expansion?

My question is if i purchase HoT will i get all the new elite spec that will be released forever?

The only elite specs that you get with HoT are the ones that came with it which we currently have access to. The ones that come with the next expansion can only be acquired by purchasing that expansion. The next expansion will of course include HoT for free.
