but plz remember 1 v 1 is solo obviously and has nothign to do with the effect of a group guild or server. you are utterly doing nothing but serving a lil bit of self interested fun. which is fine….but unlike other classes you dont have the luxury/option to get serious and go join the fray. at that point just reroll. other htan stealth in dungeons we suc k in pvp and other than 1 v 1 we suck in any mode of pvp. thief is very fun to play while roaming as you do enjoy the 1 v 1s. but has quite alot left to feel lacking. srry but we are one of the 2 worst classes overall…nesxt to ranger
Nope.
I’ve said that Thief is useful for a group guild or server.
Roaming is as useful (probably even more) as wandering around following your commander and throwing your AoEs randomly.
I can list you everything a thief is capable to do better compared to other professions in any mode.If Thief was that weak in PvP, I wonder why most of the top tier teams run one thief.
Why the most players are not incapable to learn how they must fight against thiefs and want more to cry about thiefs, before they waste any thoughts to change their build/traits/playstyle.
dude, the thief is the most OP class of them all 8, even in pve
where you stealth without shame, while the rest of us get downed by mobs

Change Steal-related traits to apply their effects (if possible) without targeting someone with Steal (if it goes on full cooldown anyway, why not give us this option):
- Mug ’s heal
No enemies →Autoregeneration- Bountiful Theft ’s 15s vigor
No Enemies → Dodge is unnecessary- Kleptomaniac ’s initiative gain
No enemies→ unnecessary, why no weaponskill are necessary- Hidden Thief ’s 2s stealth
No enemies→ why would you want to stealth- already works with Thrill of the Crime
No revealed should stay ingame.
BTW:
I find revealed is to short and let the most play only with stealth. BUT as long as the other traits, like acrobatic and trickery, are so weak that they are most time useless and the thiefs attributs dont reach a value to compensate our nonexisting deff, I cant see any chance that we can have effective build, who are not addicted from stealth.

I dont think that S/D is OP, but Skill 3 is to cheap, which make it to a brainless spammerskill.

but I suggest that your friends spend 50 Euro/USD for every Free Trail Account.
This is what healing signet should be…
Healing Signet (Cooldown: 35 seconds.)
Passive: Grants regeneration.
Active: Heal yourself.
Healing Signet: 545 (0.2*healing power) heal per sec
Healing: 8,275 (2.0*healing power)?It should be used for its passive, its active should only be used in an emergency when you have to heal up quickly or leave the fight, otherwise it does not even serve its proper function as a signet. Signets are meant to be used for there passives, otherwise there is simply no point to having them.
Mending should have its cool-down lowered to 15 seconds to fill in the spot Healing Signet has as a low cool-down heal. Healing Surge should be a 20 second CD.
Your serious, the signet should heal 16350 Points in 30sec!?
This were the 2,5x from the healskills of all other classes. -.-
If you find the signet is to weak, what it isn’t, then dont use it.

The aftercast, is that time who must pass before you can use another skill
The textures are real, their world is not the same like our.
Most I get this bug, if I change my weapon directly (<1sec) before I go down.
They are too easy. Fix em’.
Where is the Dovahkiin, if you need him?
I learned something months ago. Watch your hp bar. Cool thing is you can actually use it to your advantage if your not spamming 2 all day long.
Its not our fault, if they cant dogde this.

Cannot confirm or deny if this is valid but some food for thoughts:
Thief changes:
Lotus Strike: Poison duration increased form 2s to 4s.
Shadow Trap: Increased recharge to 45 seconds.
Destroy Shadow Trap: This ability now teleports the thief back to the trap location when it is destroyed. Added range skill facts. This skill now breaks stuns.
Shadow Pursuit: This ability now grants fury and 10 stacks of might for 5 seconds along with stealth when used to teleport to the enemy who triggered Shadow Trap. This ability now breaks stuns.
Death Blossom: Now costs 4 initiative.
Body Shot: Aftercast reduced by .4s. Decreased Vuln duratrion to 3s. Increaased to 10 stacks fo Vuln.
Pistol Whip: Decreased the time between the sstun and the sword flurry.
Scorpion Wire: Decreased aftercast by .2 seconds. Reduced cooldown to 20s.
Signet of Malice: Increased the base heal by 33% of the passive ability.
Steal: Recharge reduced to 35.
Cluster Bomb range set to 900 from 1200.
Larcenous Strike: Initiative cost increased to 2.
Nine tail strike: 3 initiative to 5
Shadow assault: 5 initiative to 7
The ripper: 5 seconds of bleed – > 7 s of bleed
Deadly Strike: Weakness duration 4s – 5 s, damage increased from 1 to 1.2
Skale Venom: Replaced Weakness with Torment.
Dancing Dagger: Reduced initiative cost to 3.

Furious Retaliation: This trait now grants 10 seconds of fury when striking a target that is below 50% health. This effect can only occur once every 30 seconds.
Signets of Power: This 5 stacks of might that this trait grants has been increased to 10 seconds.
Deadly Arts
Corrosive Traps. This trait now 5 stacks of vulnerability for 8 seconds, up from 5.
Sundering strikes: Vulnerability caused by this trait has been increased from 5 seconds to 10 seconds.
Panic Strike: This trait’s cooldown has been reduced from 60 seconds to 30.
Lotus Poison: Increased weakness duration to 4 seconds, but it can only apply once every 20 seconds per target.
Shadow Arts
Last Refuge: The cooldown of this trait has been reduced from 90 seconds to 60.
Slowed Pulse: The effect of this trait now occurs if you have 2 or more stacks of bleeding.
Shadow Protector: This trait has been changed to apply 10 seconds of regeneration when you stealth them. This effect will not occur if the ally already has regeneration on them.
Trickery
Merciful Ambush: This trait now grants 2 seconds of stealth to you and your ally when beginning a revive.
Long Reach: This trait now increases the range of Steal to 1500, up from 1200.
Ricochet: The chance to bounce for this trait has been increased from 25% to 50%.
Sleight of Hand: In addition to dazing your target, this trait now reduces the recharge of Steal by an additional 20%.
Instinctual Response: This trait now properly blinds enemies struck by the feathers. Increased radius from 120 to 180.

Just because p/p doesn’t have a stealth skill it doesn’t mean that it’s worse than other weapons.
But for most thieves it’s a tragedy to be visible longer then 4 secHonestly, p/p isn’t that bad, like everyone tries to tell you. Under two conditions.
1) you must like range combat.
2) you must choose your second weapon set very carefully.
Not for me, I play with SA and Acrobatic (1:1) so P/P is good, but not with an stealth based build.

Oh alright. The attack system is the same for both though. They’re both 9 hits each or something like that.

8hits*1 efficient +1hit*2efficient =10 hits.
IF 100b do 35k damage in this 10Sec (6,5s RT + 3,5 AT) it would do 3,5k dmg/s on every enemy. The thief e.g cant reach this damage (only on one and than max 8k(with crits)), without to offer up survival and become an one hit victim.
The (GS-)Warrior can play with a full berserker gear and had more than enought skills to negate every damage, until 14sec with two traits and one skill, also has he a HeavyArmor and +20k HP.
As well his strong, indestructible Banner (+GrpReg), CCs , useful shouts, and Elitesignet that can give him a perma haste effect.
SHORT: The warrior is the ultimate class, who combined all good and useful Grp- and Soloskills in 1 class.

Berserker thief is about reaction, if you react to their assault then you win, if you act all
surprised when they jump you and you let them beat on you for five seconds, then yes
they will burst you down.How is possible to react on invisible thief oneshooting you ? tell me that please…
You open your eyes and dont play like a bot or use 1 or 2 deff skills.

I have always 2 deff skill with me and a few deff traits. This is enought for me to defeat 90% of all thiefs, include S/D FS Spamming Thiefs.
A thief that do 6k dmg (time?) on ONE person, is not “okay” but that every other class can hit 3 or more targets with 4k dmg/s is good, or what?
Whirlwind Attack e.g. is stronger than every Backstab, it hits more targets and have more hits per execution (2-4).

Actually they can. Here is a great video showing what damage a thief can do.
The 3 attacks (usually with a proc) can land within 1 second. This is generally too fast for a person to react to giving the feeling of a 1 shot, or dead before I can fight back.
1/3 of the classes in the game have a base 10k health, and getting over 18k health is not only tough for them but harmful to any other stats. But would that matter?
This thief is dealing 26k damage in less time than is reasonable to think someone can react to. this is on top of the fact that generally when you encounter a thief you are already engaged or otherwise in a position not in your favor, while completely in their favor.
So it can be done.

Fyi, thief can get really close to warrior dps if not more with far better survivability depending on how they spec (dodge ignores all dmg as opposed to taking a hit or 2).
And warriors cant dogde?
Again: this is no problem with warriors or berserker gear, it’s a content / difficulty /tactics problem.
If you can finish a dungeon with pure dps in berserker gear in a few minutes, the fail lies within the dungeon development.
Warrior damage is ok, cause thats what they are.
But it should require a good amount of controll and support from your group to get so easily through with this.If the warrior dmg is ok, then are all other professions to weak for pve.

No the PvE design isnt the problem, the problem is the absentee splitting between pve, pvp and wvw.
Would a thief do more dmg with his singel target weapons than other classes (special warrior) with their ae weapons, its were good and balance in pve, but to strong for pvp and much stronger in wvw.

Blindfield work only against melee dmg and this only one time per sec. And Evasions is not thief only and most of time needless as long as you are in stealth.

A little tip for all that have problems to seeing an asura: Go in the options and activade the “Show All Enemy Names” and the problem is solved.
The problem doesn’t affect the players only. It affects all shoutcasters and viewers of tournaments and there is the main problem. There are allrdy tones of effects and fields, which makes observing / shoutcasting difficult. If you now have to watch some norns and asuras it’s even a bigger problem, because the norn effects will be that big, asura effects will be barely seen. Ergo: important actions can be overseen too easy. Plus it’s not fun to observe it.
Ok, I must confess that I’m a HSP and have no problems to keep track of the field, despite all skilleffects.
Me neither when I play on my own. But you ever watched a stream on twitch without 1080p quality? I doubt you have. Also it seems like you don’t know what I mean by shoutcasting. -.-*

The asura have a disadvantage, they only have a very small field of view, not so the big races like charr with her big field of view

I recommend watching the extra-credit video about stealth game mechanics on youtube.
It might help understand why people love/hate stealth and what stealth gameplay is about.

I dont knw what you mean, for a few days I fight with my guardian against 3 Thiefs at the same time and defeat two of them, before the last, with ~15% health, downed me.
They should increase the number of Dagger and active the komboend effect every 1-2 sec (not only at the start).
To increase the Dmg of DS, ähm mabye but never never make us invul, its were OP and inexplicable.
I personally wish this skill would accidentally just disappear and never come back. I have died 7 times today and all of them have been because of this trait going off during my cnd. If anet is going to keep this trait please fix it somehow so I dont get revealed every single time.
Yes, this trait has saved me some times and I’m sure other people love the trait. Unfortunately, it has killed me more times than saved me. I’m curious to see what other people think about this trait from hell….. Get out of Jail. or Insta Death trait?
